WELDING RIG BROKE DOWN (WHAT THIS MEANS FOR WORK)Jun 10, 2021
Now they'll barely make any noise, they'll barely make any noise, but it's not that bad. They gave me bat direction. Sounds good,
what's up guys? Another
workday it has been raining the last two days and my trucks have been making noise for a few weeks. Now, I had never realized
whatit wasn't and it hadn't left me on the side of the road, but I came to
thismorning and I went to leave and it was making a very loud noise up here in the front, she completed here, that's my entire front end somewhere, so we went back to the trailer
I took Devon's truck to the store, left it for a bit, just a little hole-in-the-wall store that the guys at work recommended. Actually I'm my welcome buddy and he took his truck there and the guy comes right away and does a good job so that's where we headed this morning since I left my truck there shouldn't be much work to do today because it's been raining the last few days, they still have a lot to do on their backs and it's snowing this morning, so I mean, we have to move, we're done, we have to move, so most likely I probably wouldn't do
welding, but I still have my bag packed here, a
weldinghood and everything in case we have to do something, so I'm going to get off here anyway.
I know we're going to the show. I had to stop it on my ABS brake light or whatever my ABS comes on and then it started making that noise, that crunching noise like crazy down here, good neighbor, get it right, we're going crazy getting back on my feet. I knew I had to do it. be kind of patient, we say setup, what a great tanzic, try to know what I mean, the will is not Bob Lee, no, it's usually one of the bearings or sure not, if it were to start to wobble a lot, it could tell you that it only blinks. just limp to carry the rest, but yeah, that's the thing, whatever it is, it has to be like a trailer or at least a dolly so it doesn't roll, you know, yeah, because we could pull it with yours, but no we will do it.
It's not good, you know, to really pull or something, yeah, he still just called me back. You could try calling him again here. It's okay, the auto shop is three miles away. I'm going to limp, go very slow, see what happens at three miles, the three longest. miles for Oh Mike on pills yeah lame and didn't get very far call the tow truck yeah my name is Austin Ross I was just calling to see if they could tow my truck. I'm sitting here and it says I am. about four miles from where you guys ended up, call me, oh man, I must love it.
I think one thing is another, oh well, the best thing we have right now is that it has a lot of yellow brown, so we didn't do it. I got to the place still and my ABS came on and then it started making a very loud noise, you know, while I was going down the road, so I stopped it, let it cool and got out and looked, and sure enough it was very bad. I know, I noticed it's about three miles up the road, so we're going to try to limp it, but it was getting worse and worse, but what I think happened there is I'm pretty sure it's my wheel bearing or whatever, because the axe.
I have between the axle housing and the axle or whatever comes out of my wheels, there's nothing there compared to the passenger side, you know, it's a driving bone, oh yeah, I tried calling a towing company, one of them didn't. I responded and the other one responded but they said they were closed permanently, they just didn't respond, you never know what will happen here, although once I have this there we will go there and hang out with you anyway. At least give yourself some company, what can you do? Call your dog research company, there's no dog, send someone, I'm here to pick you up, I'll take you there so you think it's like 20 miles to the nearest dealer, dad, well I saw it, but I noticed it .
It only rained a couple of times and then a friend of mine called me too and I never called him back. Hey, I have a question. I'm pretty sure my wheels are about to fall off my truck. I have been making noise for a while but I have called the 2 tone companies here no one answered or called me back or one of them answered but they are permanently closed I don't know why they answered no one had not returned what if I can call my insurance company and Well, they send it like, how does it work?
Don't know. Only my helper brought it here and said you don't own it through your insurance. I don't know, I've never done it. Well, two. Hours later we get the tow truck to load this bad boy, yeah, get my stuff out of here in the Devens truck, he laughs, yeah, every time you go, well, I appreciate it, I'll make you cold. Thanks, roadside assistance. Who would have thought? Devon, my assistant, suggested to me that I get a tow truck. I don't know, I didn't think about it. I mean, I didn't even know insurance had roadside assistance or whatever, and I think because I like growing up.
Until my dad is a tow truck driver, so growing up, if something happened to my vehicles, I just called my dad, hey, come get it, so that's part of the reason I didn't know, I guess, but even after I grew up, I was on the road. and things like last year, at the same time last year, my truck needed to be towed, if you guys have been following me at any point, my truck was towed from the hotel. I was saying that because I was having electrical problems with it, so I've always called a tow truck to come pick it up anyway.
I didn't even think my insurance could cover such a thing. Turns out the insurance I have covers roadside assistance, so thanks to my helper Devon just called the number on the back of my insurance card. questions, so everything was automated. I texted myself. I had a record along the way. A tow truck on the road I took it. It took me a couple of hours to get there, but I called two or three different towing companies. In the morning while we were on the side of the road and no one answered so I had no choice.
I haven't heard back from them yet, so it worked as good roadside assistance anyway, but I let that mechanic know. Andy referred me to a little hole-in-the-wall mechanic, but he was supposed to be very good at getting it in and out in the same day, and sure enough, I didn't send it to him until noon to think about. Right at noon and he fixed it at 6 o'clock, he called me shortly after 6:00, he actually asked me if I was on my way and I said no, I was waiting for you to call me, but he did anyway, so that's it.
Great, but he said I could show up at 8:00 in the morning and pick it up, so anyway he fixed it and went ahead and put a wheel with a new bearing on the passenger side too, so we should be good to go forward. go but I'm already out of the trailer now we didn't do anything I just came back and Evan came back right right away we just hung out with Andy we went and actually drove to our new location where we did what We're moving to start tying the pipe and our crew is back filling and spraying foam breakers and they're buttoning up where we just tied everything up, so we didn't have to do any welding today, but I don't think so.
We'll have to do something tomorrow, but I mean, time will tell, you never know, a lot of times they'll take a tractor, move a tractor or a side arm to the new location with the welders just to get started, you know. doing bench welding, you know where we can, so you never know. I'm ready, I had three rainy days off in a row and today you know, luckily we didn't do anything so I kept my truck fixed, but it worked. well it worked great so that will be the day in the life of a pipe welder with not much to do on a slower day and then the truck breaks down.
I've mentioned it in the past, but for those of you. That might be new on the channel, that's what I like about being on a sled, you can take the truck but you can still work, you know, even if we had to work today, I still could have gotten there too, you know, as long as You have transportation, you can get back to work, you can still work, so anyway, that's going to be it for today's video. Thank you all for watching, we love you, be grateful, work hard and have fun.
