We Ranked Every DRILL/DRIVER From Beginner LVL To Expert LVL (What Level Are You?)

May 01, 2020
What's wrong with

every

one? My name is Nick, welcome to the channel and in a previous video I

ranked

the best impact

driver

s in the world. It was a great video. We had an overwhelming response from them, the cool gang said they wanted to see the best workout.

driver

s today we are going to classify the best

drill

s in the world from a group of different companies, we are going to classify them into four different categories, those categories are single use DIY, number two will be the apprentice, number three will be tools professional style. and number 4 is going to be an

expert

, you have to be an

expert

to use those tools.
we ranked every drill driver from beginner lvl to expert lvl what level are you
I'm really excited to get this list going. Let's start with this list. We start with single-use, DIY-style tools. Number one

drill

s and screwdrivers. This list is a brand of tools from Walmart, in fact, it is a new brand of tools that just came out. This is the 20-volt brushless drill driver of the heart. It has a plastic chuck. We have tested it for a couple of ttrs. What I have seen in this heart. tools drill screwdriver is no good, that's my opinion and that's why I made this single use and DIY list. Our community will let you know that this tool has absolutely no heart and smells like a fart, moving on to number two and Continuing with the Walmart theme is another brand, I'm sure you've heard of it, it's Hyper Hard, the drill driver Hyper Hard, um, this is a wired version of the Hyper Tuff.
we ranked every drill driver from beginner lvl to expert lvl what level are you

More Interesting Facts About,

we ranked every drill driver from beginner lvl to expert lvl what level are you...

I know they are starting to offer wireless Hyper Hard. but we have tested this corded version of the Hyper Tuff, in fact, it went up in smoke and I just have to tell you that I think this tool costs less than 30 dollars on the market. You get

what

you pay for for this super tough tool, it's not. well it has a plastic chuck, just bad, if you need to make a hole it sure can make a hole now, how many holes is it going to make over its lifetime? It is in the air. Ours didn't last long, so don't wait. too many holes should really name hyper tufts, they really aren't difficult at all because that's

what

we moved to port transport.
we ranked every drill driver from beginner lvl to expert lvl what level are you
I'm sure you've heard of port transportation. What are they? Quality tools at a reduced or discounted price. tools at a quality price, one of those two, but we had the Bower, the Bauer Hyper Max half-inch drill driver from Harbor Freight, the kit is 69. The best thing about the Bower Hyper Max is that you get a risk-free trial that you can extend. for up to two years port freight bauer hypermax drill build quality not the best made in a factory in china somewhere who knows who has the parts now there are better tools on this list yes this is the worst tool on this list I don't think so, I think there are worse tools specifically from Walmart, but I think the Bauer Hyper Drill deserves to be in the single use DIY category.
we ranked every drill driver from beginner lvl to expert lvl what level are you
The next deal is the Bostitch Drill Driver from Walmart. You've seen it, it's the imitation. black and yellow the bostitch 18 volt drill driver for walmart the kit for the kit costs 74 and 50 cents it is a two speed drill driver and does not offer a hammer function the build quality is once again a cheaply made tool from walmart It comes from a factory somewhere in China and simply won't hold up like some of the tools on this list. Now I want to mention that many people were right in saying that most of the tools today come from different countries.
They come from many Asian countries and most of them are now made in China just because those tools are made in China. A smaller company, let's say that is very tough on its plant. Anything that passes through quality control could be of much lower quality than what we have. Let's say a different company is higher on the list, let's check their quality control and depending on the price they are trying to hit, but some things from China can be quality, some things from China can be absolutely garbage, it just depends on what that you do. We are looking and that is why Bosh Turd is on this list.
We moved on to the single-use DIY category. We move on to Black and Decker. Yes, B&D. The orange and black are now offered at Walmart. The Black and Decker drill driver is not only offered at Walmart. Also offered at Lowe's Home Improvement is the Black and Decker 20-Volt Max Drill Driver. At Lowe's, you'll pay $59.99, that's for the 3.8-inch chuck. There is no hammer function with the Black and Decker 20-volt drill. lowe's controller the 3 8 inch stand has a two year warranty for home use it says in the warranty it says home use if you know anything else about black and decker warranty comment below because im confused if that was me and i was you and we traded places and you were thinking of buying a Black Decker 3 8 inch drill driver.
I would save your money on your protection plan and invest that money in a better drill driver that you will find later on this list not the same black and decker your mom and dad used to use not the same moving into the DIY category single use we have mac tools mac tools mac tools mac drill screwdriver no good don't buy mac tools dual driver Enough said and finally the last one from the single use DIY category, the Worx drill screwdriver, yes, I will say this positively about Works and Works is not spelled with ks, it is spelled wrx works because it works, actually it may not work for you, but the Worx drill driver has a pretty good clutch.
I will say pair it with Ace Hardware. The Worx 20-volt drill driver costs $120 for the kit. This is the Worx Ai drill. Does AI mean artificial intelligence? They say it is the first smart drill. I guess this drill has a brain. If you had a brain, you wouldn't buy this drill. Let's move on. We are in the apprentice style category. These tools will be very suitable for someone starting out in the trade if they need to purchase their own tools. You're just starting out or maybe someone in a store is leading the list of apprentice styles.
We have an author at Home Depot. this is the ryobi one plush brushless hammer drill has a hammer function, this ryobi, although it catches your attention, has a crazy. nice green color has a crazy sounding name this actually means a couple of deals with your hp batteries give this tool more run time we have drilled concrete with it we drilled a lot of different materials with it the handle included is a aluminum handle plastic isn't the best handle but this isn't too bad it has a magnet on the front for bits and fasteners it's great it has a 24 speed chuck ring nice LED light the ryobi brushless hammer drill from Home Depot is definitely a La Apprentice style tool definitely deserves to be on this list.
There are people who watch the channel. There are people in the cool gang who use nothing but ryobi. They swear by ryobi and have been using ryobi for years. The Ryobi Oneplus hammer drill that the kit will use. it cost you 159 160 dollars you get a battery with its charger in a bag I used it try it like I love it it definitely belongs on this list if you haven't tried the Ruby the Drill and you are looking for tools this is definitely a great starter tool definitely great for A definitely excellent apprentice for a DIY check them out moving from ryobi to home depot we return to port transport believe it or not, port transport offers the hercules 20 bolt hammer drill this hercules hammer drill has gone through the ringer at ttr, we have tested it, It has an all metal Jacobs chuck, believe it or not, you wouldn't expect to see that port transport, I didn't expect it, one thing I will say, this Hercules hammer drill is a brush tool without brushes, so it loses a little power. on the motor due to the brushed motor, but it has two speeds, has a hammer function and does not come with a handle, so be careful when doing high torque applications, just remember this.
Hercules doesn't have a handle included in the kit, but this thing is very strong, it's surprisingly strong. The port loading Hercules hammer drill should definitely not settle a place on this list and you will currently be surprised if you try this, I will tell you. the chuck goes up to 19 different positions and just try it, Hercules will surprise you, it surprised me, this thing is difficult, it's like a tank, it's a blue tank, we move on to another amazing offering, this is the craftsman hammer drill, the hammer drill v20. This is offered at Lowe's. You will now pay a premium for this handcrafted hammer drill.
It is available in higher quality tools, but definitely falls into the learning category. This is a good hammer drill. You know, it has a metal chuck. It has all these differences. positions you would need craftsman is now owned by Stanley Black and Decker and this hammer drill is good it definitely deserves a spot on this list it has a brushless motor it has two speeds 13 different positions from the truck we tested this really holds up well it is not the faster Not the strongest but it will definitely get the job done like the ryobi. It's definitely a great starting exercise for an apprentice, perhaps starting out in the trades or someone just doing their own thing at home.
Definitely, a great starting exercise definitely deserves to be in this one. On the list, you will be pleasantly surprised if you try the Craftsman V20 and stick with the same store, which is the lowest home improvement. We move on to the 24 volt maximum cobalt brushless hammer drill. Choosing this drill for the first time may really surprise you. The weight behind it is pretty incredible. This drill has an all-metal Jacobs chuck. The chuck is very nice. It has 24 clutch positions. It has the really nice hammer function. It comes with a handle that I appreciate from cobalt. The only thing in the kit is that it only comes with one. battery, that's the only problem with the cobalt kits is that they only come with one battery.
I wish they were all for another battery, but other than that, this 24-volt brushless motor is a tank that does

every

thing you need to drill concrete. masonry, this is really good, cobalt will surprise you with cobalt too. They are coming out with a new line of tools called the xtr line of tools. I'm excited to get my hands on this cobalt hammer drill definitely deserves a spot on this list and the apprentice. style tools this wobbles in the professional category and the quality of this tool you feel it as soon as you pick it up it is a good tool it will do the job tested so many times the LED light is good the battery is Another big plus of this cobalt hammer drill is that it offers a five-year limited warranty on cobalt tools.
Another reason to keep an eye on cobalt tools if you're looking for a hammer drill or wondering which hammer drills do the best work. The next best in the apprentice style category is the Skill Power Core 20-Volt Drill Driver. When I heard the word skill before, in the past, my brain would immediately go cheap, cheap, not a good tool. The skill is just rubbish, it's shoddy, but. Skill has recently released a new line of 20 volt tool power cores and I have to tell you: try the impact driver try the oscillating tool try the drill these tools are quality Skill definitely belongs in the learning style category definitely is a Great tool for anyone looking around the home, maybe just starting out at work, maybe looking for their first tool.
I think the 20 volt skill power core will fit that build perfectly for you. You can feel the quality once you pick up the tools, they will surprise you. Check the ability power. 20 volt core moving to the apprentice style tools category we moved on to PC or porter cable sold at lowe's drill driver with porter cable the 20 volt model is one that I went back and forth on I almost put it in the professional category this is a in -between the drill, it does not offer a hammer function, it measures half an inch, although it does not have brushes, the kit costs 139 dollars, it is not the cheapest, but because of that brushless motor and the power behind the porter cable, I think it belongs to the list of learning style tools.
This is a middle of the road drill and will get the job done. The Porter cable is not the best quality. It's definitely not the worst quality. I definitely think it falls into the apprentice style tool category and that's why it's there, let's move on. Moving on to the professional category, the professional style of tools on the list of drills that lead the professional category at number one is the black and yellow drill that you know you love, that I know and that I love, this is the dewalt dcd996, this thing is an absolute tank, the 20 volt max xr wall. combined with the flexible volt battery it weighs about I would say six pounds in your hand, pretty ridiculous, it has a metal ratcheting chuck, I mean the hammer feature comes witha three-speed handle on this hammer drill. drill just about anything and when you're drilling a high torque application with this thing you'll definitely want to handle it, I mean this thing even has three settings for the LED light, how many different settings can you pack into one tool?
Ridiculous, the features of this tool are amazing, the wall is what I personally use, let me know in the comments section what brand of tool you use and where it falls into the categories, but the wall is definitely a professional style tool, the Dewalt xr batteries have increased recently. the quality of their cells went from 18,650 cells in their battery packs to 21,700 cells they increased the diameter of the battery they increased the run time tool only for the dewalt dcd-996 at lowe's $129 definitely higher in price but you're getting More quality in your tool with that higher price, although it is my favorite, I had to be realistic, it is a professional style tool, definitely not an expert style tool.
I think we'll be surprised when we get to the expert

level

of the tools I put there. Moving up to the professional category is the brushless motor of the Makita LXT 18-Volt Cordless Hammer Drill that has all the bells and whistles and comes with a handle that has a hammer function. Makita is known for making some of the highest quality tools on the planet. They used to make many of their tools in Japan. They recently stopped making tools in Japan. If you can find some of those tools made in Japan, hold on. They are great quality, those tools made in Japan, but now they move their manufacturing to China, don't get me wrong, they are still good quality, I just like Japanese style tools that were made in Japan personally, that's what I like , but makita.
Still an excellent high-quality tool, your hammer drill falls into the realm of high-quality tools. The makita lxd hammer drill offers 1,090 inch pounds of torque, so you will definitely pay more for the makita lxt 18 volt hammer drill. a higher price because it is a higher quality tool, that is why it is in the professional category for the combo kit with battery charger in a hard case with the drill, you will pay $269 at Home Depot, do I think it is worth it? With the 4 amp hour batteries and the 2 additional 4 amp hour batteries, I think it's worth it. You're getting a tool that can complete a number of different tasks and complete them with relative ease compared to some of the other tools on this list below.
In the professional style category it is a tool that I came and went with. Should I put her on apprenticeship? Should I put it in expert? This tool is the Bosch Core 18-volt hammer drill. The Bosch Core line of tools are very good quality tools. Battery. it's the 18 volt core battery, the 18 volt core box combo kit is $189 at home improvement from Lowe's, it's not the most expensive, it's definitely not the cheapest, best of Bosch core batteries is that they offer an improved cell, they offer the 21700. cell in the bosch core 18 volt batteries that give the tools more run time and more power due to the additional diameter of the battery, the bosch core 18 volt hammer drill offers 535 pounds per inch of torque and 28,000 beats per minute when you try it to get through the hardest concrete, the hardest masonry, you have to get through it, the bosch will definitely get through it.
Another cool thing about bosch, you combine it with a bosch multi-bit, which we have made a lot of videos about those bits, they are really amazing. It will drill a lot of different materials wood, brick, cement, even tile, they will drill it, pair it with one of those drill bits, you can drill just about anything with the upgraded 18 volt batteries. The Bosch hammer drill definitely belongs to the professional style. category, but I lurch back and forth between putting an expert in or putting him in apprenticeship. I think it belongs to Pro. If you disagree, let me know in the comments section below.
I want to see your list in the comments section below. Moving on from Bosch we have the ridgid gen 5x hammer drill the new line of gen 5x tools from ridgid are nice they are a little bulky when you start using them they are bulky in the hand they are not the slimmest they are not going to get in the tighter spaces will do the job yes they will do most jobs yes they will help improve your work i think so the ridgid gen 5x hammer drill is a surprise its almost like earlier on the list how i talked about picking up the hercules or choosing to the artisans, they will surprise you.
The ridgid does the same thing when you use it, grab the ridgid gen 5x hammer drill, you will be amazed at the amount of power and speed it generates. On that drill, another big advantage of rigid tools is that they offer a lifetime warranty, which is great. Many other tool companies will only have a limited warranty for a couple of years, just a couple of days. A lifetime warranty is something you don't find these days and I'm glad about the offer from ridgid and that's why it's in the professional category for the ridgid gen 5x hammer drill at Home Depot for the kit with two batteries included.
You will see a price of 199, I think it is? it's worth it, yes some people would disagree if you don't agree with the ridgid. Do you think it belongs to learning? Do you think it belongs in the single-use DIY category of trash? Let me know where you think the ridgid belongs. Many people disagree. Many people. I will agree that a lot of people think it is an expert category where you see rigid tools, but wait, don't pay full price for a tool, in fact, never pay full price for tools. If you watch this video here, you can see how.
To get the best tool deals of your life, don't go watch that video, never pay full price for tools, don't be stupid, rounding out the professional category of hammer drill screwdrivers is the Matabo HPT Multivolt 36 Volt. hammer drill the best of metabo hpt or as it is known in Europe haikoki I still can't forget hikoki what do you think about the name haikoki? Let me know what you think in the comments section below apparently Europeans love it I just can't get over it hikoki the 36 volts. The best thing is that it works with different voltages. It can go from 18 volts to 36 volts depending on how much voltage you need.
Another great thing is that they have offered this battery pack that actually plugs into the wall so you can go from having a cordless tool to having a cordless tool that you can plug back into the wall, plug in the battery and have this big cord that comes out of the battery to a power source that goes into the wall, the metabo hpt multi volt hammer drill at lowe's is only 199, it's definitely a steep price to pay for a tool only hammer drill, the quality is worth it, I would say yes, another great thing about the metabo multivolt 36 volt batteries is that they are using those larger cells, they are using those 21700 cells which give the tool and the battery more capacity, longer run times.
This 18 volt battery is 4 amp hours, so at 36 volts it would be 2 amps. one hour battery the metabo hpt multivolt hammer drill completes the list of professional categories let's move on to the expert tools the first tool in the expert category is metabo made in germany this is the metabo hammer drill it is like the mercedes-benz of hammer drills This thing is sleek and smooth, it can even be removed, it has a removable chuck, you can go from a half inch chuck to an impact chuck. This thing is amazing, it has three speeds, great for drilling metal, great for drilling concrete, matabo batteries are cutting edge.
HD li technology is paving the way for a universal battery in Europe, where it will power a lot of different power tools with a single battery. It is the wireless alliance system that Metabo is launching abroad. This tool is of high quality. There is only one drawback: it is a plastic handle. Could we maybe get a Metabo metal handle? I don't know how to say metal handle in German, but you know, just a metal handle instead of plastic. Otherwise this thing is amazing, it's definitely made for experts, it has a variable speed dial, the battery is 21,700 cells If you haven't tried the German style Metabo, I advise you to give it a try.
You're going to pay a premium for the German-style Metabo, but this is definitely a high-quality hammer drill. This thing will pierce just about anything, whether it's a tank. It belongs to the category of expert style tools. Moving on from the German-style metabo, we moved on to the Hilti 22-volt cordless hammer drill. Hilti 22 volt tools had the opportunity to see some of them in action in the world of concrete. I could see a cordless tool. The switch could see their jackhammers. Really good tools. I was able to try out their cordless circular saw. They are seven and a quarter years old.
Really good stuff. Even your cordless grinder. The 22-volt hammer drill remains on the same platform. Now many people are going to do it. I do not agree with me Hilti does not belong to the category of experts. I think you're wrong. I think Hilty falls into the export category, especially when doing concrete and masonry work. Hilti is one of the best companies in drilling masonry and working with masonry on concrete related tasks. tasks I think this hammer drill doesn't skip that beat, it will go through masonry and go through concrete. It's a beautiful thing. Another great thing about the Hilti line of tools is that they offer a 20-year limited warranty, now that's not a rigid one.
Lifetime warranty we talked about before, but 20 years is still a long time, especially in the world of warranties, especially tool warranties. Hilti offers one of the longest tools you can buy the Hilti 22 Volt Cordless Hammer Drill at Home Depot only for 179 the Hilti 22 Volt Hammer Drill Combo Kit at Home Depot will cost you over 400, that's definitely a price High to pay for a combo kit for any tool, but remember this is the expert category and the old saying is: you get what you pay for. and in this category I definitely took that into account the price was taken into account the hilti hammer drill has a hammer function comes with an excellent handle battery larger cells is expert don't you know that the pinky comes out when in doubt and moves on to the category of expert style tools?
We move on to the Festool percussion style hammer drill. This is one of the most elegant hammer drills I have ever seen. It has removable heads that you can change for different angles you need to get into. Festool is known for manufacturing high quality. tools, especially woodworking tools, and I find that their hammer drill is the same, it is definitely high quality, you will pay a premium festool it is for delicate woodworkers who usually work in workshops where you need precision, quality, speed, all those factors They take into account and you'll pay a premium for all of those factors, but I think Festool falls into the expert category because it's high quality.
The Festool hammer drill kit will cost you over 500, even more expensive than the Hilti. find Festool at any vintage construction store, you won't be able to go to Home Depot or you'll probably have to order it online. One of the best things about the Festool kits is that they come with these boxes that interlock they are stackable they roll up they are really cool they actually make the support system where your boxes interlock the vacuum is interchangeable with the support system so that you can have a vacuum cleaner on the bottom attached to the tool and then the boxes stacked in addition to the vacuum cleaner, all that on wheels, you can get in and out of the job site, the woodworking shop, whatever you need, festool is definitely from high quality, definitely belongs to this category of expert list, another interesting feature of festool 18 18v hammer drill, hammer drill is that it offers bluetooth yes, you can connect bluetooth to a vacuum cleaner that when you turn on the hammer drill, the vacuum cleaner will also start Automatically due to Bluetooth connectivity Another big advantage about the Festool hammer drill is that it has a four speed gearbox and goes up to 3800 rpm.
The battery actually features Festool's new in-battery airstream cooling technology, which will increase the charging time of Festool batteries by up to 60 percent. This thing is just a feature pack that you are definitely getting. premium styling tool, but you're paying a premium price. Last but not least, in the expert style category, is theMost powerful cordless hammer drill I have ever seen or tested. This is by far the best cordless hammer drill for the money you get. the longest run time you get the most power the highest speed a decent warranty a great handle great battery brushless motor great tool all metal drill chuck very strong I am so excited this tool is amazing, in my opinion it is the best, the milwaukee m18 brushless fuel two speed i have 14 shaft selections it has a hammer function this thing comes with a bulky handle a good handle this is the strongest and most powerful drill i have seen on the market today this thing is a tank Paired with the compact cp high performance 3.0 battery you can do almost anything, boost the battery pack up to a 6.0 and you can do virtually any drill test you need, drill concrete, easily drill wood, super easy, drill almost any product, easily and efficiently, this will help you. you do your job you're not going to pay 500 you're not going to pay 600 the milwaukee gen 3 combo kit now costs 349 at home depot i think that's a pretty good price to pay don't pay full price for the tools, they will definitely go down in price when they sell , but the top of the line gen 3 hammer drill is the best known on the market, none if you don't agree, leave it in the comments section.
I want to know your list in the comments section if you agree. with my list, write agree and leave it as a comment so I know you agree with my list. Thanks for checking out my list and rankings of the top hammer drills on the market today, from single-use DIY to expert grade, Milwaukee. take the cream of the crop, it's definitely the most powerful, but I'm excited to see your list.
