deadline

recently, we've been needing to take a little time at the end of most days to just take a little care of ourselves and that has included just unplugging for about half a day. hour or so and watch masterchef with gordon ramsay, which we thought was just like turning off your brain and relaxing at the end of the day and it turns out it's not and now we're obsessed with trying to make these intense, delicious, complicated recipes.

More Interesting Facts About,

we have a new deadline trent allie...

I really wish I could say that we would like to finish doing it at home, but I know it will take several days too. I'll take you outside here in a second and you'll see how absolutely beautiful the day is outside and today it's forecast to rain for most of the middle of the day, so we'll get to work. Very early we're going to do as much exterior foam as possible and then we're going to go in and maybe start cleaning the basement. Anyway, I really don't know. I'm ready to start today. come out oh good dogs both dogs are here they have been gone for an hour but now they are back oh my god just on an adventure our dogs have always been well behaved frank has always been very well behaved and has always listened very well and has never gone too far away, I mean, he'd like to wander around in the bushes and look for squirrels to eat, I guess I don't know, but he's always been a problem and now that we have Frank, he'll just take off and we'll be like yelling and calling and trying to get him to come back. .

It got a lot worse after we visited Oso. I think Bear is giving Frank some secrets about how to escape and go on an adventure. If you get far enough away, you can just Come on, I think that's why he would have to come back. Frank is like, but I'm so cute, how can you be mad at me? I'm accepting it. I've decided I don't care. My pants don't fit me anymore. I'm not that pregnant and I'm just going to embrace that fat pregnant life and you guys can deal with that with me because I'm not going to change, you're not even any bigger, you literally look exactly the same, just wait until You're like eight months pregnant and you're going to to say, "Oh my God, I have a watermelon in my belly.

I'm only going to wear leggings because my jeans don't fit me anymore and I'm choosing to be okay with that now it starts." The stretch pants era is hard because we put ourselves out there in public and look at each other on camera during editing and all that, so you're very conscious of how you look and we get comments and emails about Ellie's butt. I know random things and it's hard, no one says that, for the record, it's hard not to let it get to you, but it's okay, everything is okay, I feel good so far, everything else is okay, we have a date with him doctor this week and hopefully things are better and happier.
Calm down and let's move on and keep building this house, Frank has figured out that the best way to get Lika to ignore him is to just play dead, so every time she comes up and wants to fight and bite his face, he just he goes to bed and completely ignores her and she gets frustrated and just leaves. I'm sorry, frank, someday you will appreciate it. I promise you this is just a corner piece, so what happens is when you have the corner of the building and when you put the furring strips in, the foam is pushed out in one direction and then the other direction, and if you put a furring strip in the corner, you try to send a screw through there, it just goes into the foam, so you have to have something that's wider than three inches that can hit some studs, some corner studs and this goes on the corner of the foam and then you screw it all the way up and then it becomes the corner that you mount the molding on and then your siding lands next to that, it's good that you know what you're doing Trent, I wouldn't have done that, I don't know, I'm just guessing, fake it til you make it, that's the name of our game, warming up to that.
It was great and I know it feels great, but I know that just means the storm is coming and the heat before the storm is on the way and 12 19. We have an hour and 41 minutes until it's supposed to start raining. We have most of the polyiso foam here. We have one of the furring strips. I have the corner cut. We just need to install the corner cold and then start removing it, I think at least before it starts raining. we should finish this cool okay it's finally warm enough that it's not snowing anymore it used to snow every time it rained at lower elevations here it was just snowing and not raining and then yesterday there was this beautiful summer storm with lightning and thunder and a huge rainbow and it wasn't even dark outside but it was pouring rain, such a beautiful part of summer for me and I feel like that's exactly what's going to happen this afternoon, which doesn't bother me, I could never calm down.
So I know we've gotten a lot of comments from people saying, Aren't we worried about the insulation absorbing water and rain and that this wood is not treated or pressure treated or stained or sealed? It's just raw wood and, in general, yes. you just left wood on the outside of your house, the sun and humidity in the water and everything would cause it to rot over time, the point is that this wood will be covered by a coating and the central event allows it to dry and evaporate. and dry it properly so that it does not rot and it will be extremely rare for water to pass through the siding, but in case it does, it can dry out due to the rain screen and air can enter through the central event. it can go up behind the siding, out through the soffit vents, everything can dry out, you don't have to worry about the wood getting moldy or rotting or anything like that.
Plus, rock wool is mildew proof, it's water resistant, it's water repellent, you can literally soak it. a bucket of water and it will hold some water but it won't absorb it, it won't rot, it won't rot, it will evaporate and dry out. I could never sit too far from my hometown, yeah, it's ready, damn, okay, how I'm excited that we can, I don't know if you've even heard thunder, but this might be okay, there was actually a storm yesterday, Thunder is beautiful, we like thunder, it's not scary, it's okay, right? Frank, it's like, I don't care about thunder, I really don't care about anything as long as there's food, it's a gloomy day out here if we haven't mentioned it already, but look at this, boom, we have furring strips, they framed us.
Outside the windows, we did all the rock wall and foam on this side of the house, which is not a large section, but I'm glad we did it now on the entire front of the house and on this side of the house less that section. Upstairs is done and the bottom section on the other side of the house is done so we may be halfway done with the exterior foam so I think by the end of the week we can probably finish doing all of this . permanent power by then and who knows we may not make it today, but we may even have our drywall sorted by then.
We are going to do some work in the basement cleaning out all the firewood and all the extra wood. and things that are down there and putting them under cover, we're going to do that before the day is out, oh, it's dark down here, like you realize you can jump right in and out of this basement window and I think this is our new dog door that we just need instead of this little crank, we just need a smart switch right there, so at 8am. m. It just opens up, the dogs can get out and run away like they've been doing lately, yeah okay so let's get this out, it's dark down here and since we don't have our power on anymore we have to work in the dark, let's go to remove all this firewood, we're going to get all these extra pieces of wood. that's down here on the floor, move it all outside and then hopefully you can organize, clean, sweep and get the basement to a nice clean feel.
Oh, it's beautiful, I love it. The boys will finish cleaning some more in the basement. I'm going to hang out here with the dogs so they don't get too wet and then I think we'll enjoy this rain together. What does a really messy basement look like? How is it outside? You know, it never really rains. in Utah, like everywhere we went in Central and South America, very true, yeah, when it's like, oh, it's going to be a crazy storm, you're out there and you're like, I'm not even getting wet, it's like momentary. The drops are touching me where, after spending the rainy season in South America, nothing can compare to that, yes, seriously, the rainy season in Central America was tough tomorrow, hopefully, we can clean the basement of the red as if we had taken all the important things out of there. so now it's like shoveling the bark and sweeping and vacuuming and getting everything ready down there, then we can move everything to the basement, organize the rest of the house, finish the exterior foam properly and put up drywall. doing the plaster painting cabinets, the appliances, there are still many things to do.
I feel like a lot of things have been changing in the last few weeks and one thing I'm really worried about changing is my skin and that's why I try to take very good care of it. of this and luckily it's super easy with skin care products from function of beauty and function of beauty is the sponsor of today's video. I have been using function of beauty skin and hair care products for months and they are amazing, their personalized skin care is designed to identify your specific skin care goals and my nightly routine keeps my skin even. soft and healthy.

Also, I went looking for a sun shirt so I could wear it. Super light and sun deflector, what would you say sunburn proof? Sunburn proof because I definitely don't want to get too much sun exposure, although a little bit is good, I don't want to get sunburned and up here we are like the next one. in the sun so if you just walk outside you're ruined and you usually burn very very quickly so today we're going to let Trent and Brandon get to work and I'm going to hang out with the dogs and See you later it's really nice that it's so dry here that a lot of times when it rains the ground and everything is usually so dry and dusty that it has to rain a lot, a lot, a lot, for it to be muddy, it usually will rain. and it just dampens the dust, it's like it's not even enough to make the dirt or mud stick to your boots which is really cool and that's pretty much what happened yesterday and now this morning it's pretty much completely dry again and very dusty.
So we're happy about that, another thing we've been talking about a little bit lately is removing the shelter logic. Now the logic of the shelter bypasses Terry and protects us from the snow and the wind and I simply. I don't even remember what it's like to not be living inside a big bright white bubble like us, if we open the windows it's like that's our view, it's like bright whiteness around the trailer and I don't even remember what it is. I would like to be able to look out the window and see what is happening outside the logic of the shelter.
However, it is a debate because ifwe remove the shelter logic, then we are very exposed and it will probably heat up much faster in Terry, whereas in the case on the right. Now it's like a kind of protective parasol. We can roll up the sides of the shelter logic and maybe that will create some airflow but still protect us from any big rain storms or just like the incredible amount of heat and sun that hits us every day, so although I would love to have a view and not just look outside like a white tarp, we're trying to figure out if maybe it's worth it.
It's just leaving the shelter logic on until we move into the house, but today Brandon and I are going to continue turning our house into a Yeti cooler, so we came here to get started and Brandon Oh was being extremely productive here. He came in with the broom, moved all these boxes and supplies to the edge of the room or to our free windows and swept everything up and then I helped him shovel everything into this bag, look at the basement, it looks amazing down here not to. Mention that it literally feels like the inside of a refrigerator because it's cold down here, the concrete is very cold and the ceiling and walls are very well insulated, so the temperature here will probably stay at 45 degrees or whatever. be down here.
It's cold, we'll be ready to start moving a lot of stuff from upstairs to here and that's where it can stay until the house is finished. I am very excited about it and now we have ample space for our cabinets that should come from Home Depot. but anyway i think ally is going to come over here and start vacuuming brandon and i'm going to climb up to the top of the sunroom and start making the gable roof up there. It's going to be a little stressful because we're going to be on a ladder at the top of a 412 field trying to get up to the 26 foot tall peak and uh, I'm not excited about that, but we have to do it, so let's get to work , they are now moving towards the opposite. side of the house to hopefully finish this part, we have already started it because we needed to mount the cutout box for the power and a couple more accessories, so this should be very quick, the only problem is that we have half of our rock wool. shipping to Brandon's house, like two or maybe three weeks ago, I don't remember and the other half was supposed to be delivered last week and it didn't show up and they scheduled it for a week from tomorrow so we still have another week.
Before more rockwool appears we could get more white foam but today we will run out of both so we did all the blood work for genetic testing for Down syndrome and other chromosomal defects in the baby and I think these are the results. katrina hi katrina, it's allison, I just got your voicemail and I wanted to call you back, how are you?, so good, we have your pan results, okay, which indicates low risk, that's good, that's what We want to see, okay, and then, do you want to? I want to tell you the sex. No, please keep it a secret.
Very good, that's great news. Thank you so much. Okay, you're welcome. Well bye. It's a great relief. I have felt good, but, of course, this entire first trimester has been very good. bumpy so far and really stressful and every time I get excited and start to relax it seems like something terrible happens and we end up on a huge emotional rollercoaster again, honestly, and that's why the fact that all the analysis results of blood came back to consider it low risk doesn't mean that if they are 100 positive, but they are pretty sure that things are developing correctly and normally and that there is no chromosomal or genetic defect that we need to worry about, it's just one more thing in the right direction that means we have a little more peace of mind and we can breathe a little easier I close my eyes so it's just and I say to myself you'll come back again it's a good day it's a very good day and so far these guys do it they're crushing, the whole bottom is done and look at this, they're almost at the top of one and well, a third of the top.
I'm going to let you guys focus because it's a little stressful to watch. Trent does this, I can't imagine what it must be like to do it yourself, so I'll let them work in peace and finish restacking all this firewood that needed to be moved from the basement to its new place. Permanent home right here, uh, I think we've decided or figured out I don't know if you remember, but where is that wood pile where we're stacking all the wood? Yeah, when we had the man lift here when we were doing the roof. siding, we had to park the man lift right there to be able to get up this side of the house, okay, and I think to do the roof and siding on this side of the house we're going to have to do it again, so That's it. pile of wood can't go there and I know you just stacked like half the pile of wood there, at least it wasn't the whole pile of wood.
Are you kidding? Why didn't we think of this before? Just take all that wood and turn it upside down, okay oh my gosh, okay, that makes sense, I mean obviously we need roof sheathing more than firewood, especially during the summer, we just can't find a good place where it is Firewood can be stacked and stored permanently, I think. I have successfully removed enough of the firewood pile that was beautifully stacked, if I may add some more away from where we will have to pull the lift to the side of the house to put the siding and roof on, so if it were I wasn't convinced before that these guys were just creating useless tasks for me to make me feel important and contribute, I'm definitely convinced now, so instead of just watching and biting my nails while they're up there, way up there. along the roof line, finishing the exterior foam, I'm going to go in and maybe make some food.
The secret to a delicious caprese on a nice, warm summer afternoon is the balsamic glaze, not the balsamic vinegar. It makes a big difference darling, I wish you would do a little. to save me a hmm so today I got a phone call from the doctor and last week we did all the netera blood tests which is a comprehensive panel to detect different chromosomal and genetic defects that could also be present in the developing fetus . as a test for the gender and it's not a boy or a girl, I can already tell by your facial expressions that everything is fine and everything is fine, healthy baby, here we go and the nurse asked me: would you like to know the sex of your baby?
Like uh, I want to say yes, but don't tell me, don't tell me, I feel like we've been on this roller coaster for so long that neither of us are willing to get any more excited because we get so excited every time. Bad things are starting to happen and so we're just trying to be calm, Eddie, take things one day at a time and this is very good news and we're both very happy about it, but maybe we're not going to celebrate too much. because there is still a lot of pregnancy left and on that note we have a doctor's appointment in the morning and I think we will see you and then dream about what we can find when you are with me and I am with you. with you it's my 12 week prenatal checkup we really hope everything goes well and without problems and maybe one of these days we can stop worrying a little less and hear that everything is perfectly normal hopefully that's today look at those shorts look at your legs, It's the first time of the season, oh it's nice to have a checkup and not a rescue emergency like an ultrasound, yeah we're happy today so Allison was pretty freaked out but everything is looking great for her baby.
Several people convinced us that it's a profile a heartbeat two hands can't even see the eyes uh and the jaw line right there is beautiful how are you feeling mom? I mean, we just gained a week, basically, this baby was due on December 3rd and now she's tracking so well that they've switched. The due dates are November 28th, so I'm not actually 11 and six days old, I'm 12 and four days old right now, yeah the plot thickens, that's just three days after Thanksgiving, which means Valley tries to eat a fat turkey dinner or a Thanksgiving baby. Oh there's a head that's cool crazy what's scary is they said my recommended weight gain is 35 to 37 pounds yeah I know you're scared of that I'm scared I don't really care and she goes to get pregnant, but anyway.
I think that's probably enough for today's video, if you enjoyed it be sure to show it to us by giving us a big thumbs up and consider subscribing to our channel if you haven't already. We are very excited to have such good news and hopefully everything will be smooth sailing from here on out thanks again to Function of Beauty for sponsoring today's video.
