Denominations are divided on this and the only answer we can give to this is that we have to go back and think carefully about what the Scriptures say and accept everything the Scriptures say because what God has done. and what he reveals to us is always for our good, we have to be very careful not to follow the mentality of the world that thinks it knows more than God, who is the creator, Redeemer and Lord of his people now when we specifically analyze the issue. , the first thing we have to do is carefully define what a pastor is in our days. pastor can just be a term that covers so many things you could have senior pastors pastors and you can have pastors/adults and/children and overuse and so on and of course when you use the term pastor that way pastor/children pastor/ women Well, obviously, men and women can fulfill many of those pastoral roles, but to really get to The question is that we first have to think about the biblical offices, then we have to work from the biblical text and how it describes the church and the officers that are described biblically, then we move on to what we understand in the contemporary world by pastors, so when we do that, I think we can make a very strong case that there are two main offices that function in our local churches; there were Apostles, but now they have disappeared from the scene and I was a unique time period and a group of men who were called by Christ and eyewitnesses of the resurrection, but after the Apostles were gone, it is very clear that you see in the Scriptures some interchangeable terms senior shepherd and that's where you get shepherd, it doesn't appear, it will often appear, it's not as a noun shepherd or even as a verb shepherd to pasture and you'll also have the term overseer where we get the term bishop and then we press butter that we get from elder now, if you look at the Scriptures, I think these three terms pastor overseeing elder are really interchangeable, so in Acts 14:23 Paul is establishing churches, he puts elders in every church, he does it in Ephesus, but when he goes to Ephesus In Acts 20 he meets with the elders and tells them to shepherd or shepherd.

In that context, it makes more sense to talk about this leadership role, this supervisor role that first Timothy three then takes up and it is very, very important to see that this is so. It's not just some kind of cultural prohibition because Paul bases his argument on a redemption argument, but we would say that creation falls, so in the order of creation that continues today, he says that Adam was made first, Eve was made later and of course if we go back to Genesis 2. Then we see that both men and women are created in the image of God, both are of equal value, but the very description of woman is complementary in nature, so that both Adam and Eve must function in a complementary way in different roles but serving side by side and that is shown in families and shown in the church so that the teaching that has no authority to teach about a man is not a silence total.

We know elsewhere in Scripture that women are praying and speaking and doing these things. in context, I think of this office of supervising elder pastor which is then taken up in 1 Timothy 3, so when we look at the Scriptures, elder pastor, what we call pastor in the biblical sense and supervisor would be reserved for male deacons. It is difficult to know in 1 Timothy three, since the apostle Paul and in verse eight he goes to the deacons in the same way and gives them qualifications, he also says that there must be husbands of one wife, which means a man, but in Verse 11 uses a word there that can either be translated as wives of deacons or simply women, it's very difficult to notice because we don't have much data on this.

Romans 16, for example, calls Phoebe, the term is used for deacon, so it means servant or a royal office of deacon right. I think when we put all this together, if we maintain the role of supervising elder pastor, I think the Scriptures are quite clear and reserved for men as spiritual leaders of the church in that capacity, deacons certainly men serve in that role, but I think in verse 11. It is very possible that he is also opening up to women because the role of deacon is not the same type of teaching authority leadership in the church, it is more of a helping role.

Phoebe Mayor may fit as an example of this, so not everyone for today. She agrees with this, but today I would say that to answer the question, can women be elders, pastors, and overseers in the biblical sense? I would say that the Scriptures say no to that, that is a specific role that is linked to male leadership that is linked to creation and is for our good for deacons. I would say that women can be deacons working with the biblical distinction, then between pastors, elders and deacons, the question is: what about the expansion of small group teaching and leading worship services, etc.? of the answers to this, but I think it's tied to how churches perform that pastor elder overseer role, so if they are limiting that elder overseer role: the overall spiritual leadership of the church, the teaching ministry of preaching, etc., then they would be overseeing all of that and putting people in places that reflect biblical teaching, if they don't see ministers of music and this type of thing as supervising pastors, then there would probably be flexibility for both men and women, so I think there is probably discretion for the churches.

I think you have to try to make your church structures, government and offices as close to the Scriptures as possible, which will then allow for easier application, the more we call everyone pastors, the more we expand each role to some guy. of the leadership role then we run into some of these gray areas that are difficult to answer. We must also remember that we must not allow the world to set the agenda. The world is quite confused in terms of man/woman and everything else in terms of human relationships. God knows how he has made us, he knows what is best, good and right.

We must also remember that when we think about women's service in the church, it is just an office that the Scriptures say are not yet filled by all roles, both men and women. and women are equally baptized into Christ received the gifts of the Spirit serve side by side as husbands and wives would even though there would be leadership in the home so we have to keep all that in mind and make sure we are being formed. to the Scriptures and not conform to the standards of our world on this issue.
