The first factor is to satisfy the user's needs. This means that whatever the user has come to do using your product or service, you need to make sure that he can achieve that result. For example, in an online food delivery service, the user has come to pick up food. delivered within a certain time, so in a nutshell, this first factor means that you satisfy those needs and that the person receives the food on time at their home. The second factor is that your product or service is easy to use and easy to learn by going back to the source. food delivery example, this means that it will be easy for you to navigate and find the food you want to deliver to your address, specify the time and complete the order and the easy to learn part means that even if you have never used this service before, you already know it. knows. exactly what to do and it's as easy as if you've done it 100 times.

Products that do not have good UX design do not take into consideration the needs of the user, take into account the needs and motivation of the user and provide them with a great user experience. This leads to more exciting results and valuable products and services. The reason companies around the world are starting to realize the value of UX design is because when you give users a good experience, they are more likely to share it. and they come back and use your service again and again. I've been talking about good and bad UX design, but what does that actually look like in the real world?
To put this into a context we are all familiar with. Think about microwaves. When was the last time you were in someone else's house and you tried to use their microwave and you couldn't understand exactly what you had to do? Think about all the different ways you can interact with microwaves, there are buttons, dials, knobs. and digital screens, and it can be difficult to figure out how to accomplish the simple task of heating food when you don't know exactly how to use the device in front of you. This is what we're talking about when we say bad UX design.
Instead, let's look at an example of good UX design. Take the humble toaster. A simple function is to heat the bread into toast just the way you like it. Making toast is a really simple activity, but it can be imperfect when the bread isn't toasted enough, you usually have to guess how long to put it back on. This is where great UX design comes in, where the UX designer has understood the frustrations and needs of the user and invented a button called a little more. This removes the element of guesswork for the user and creates a delight

Don Norman is one of the founding figures of UX design and also shares a great example of good versus bad UX design in interiors. He thinks about how many times you've tried to open a door only to realize you're pushing or pulling in the wrong direction. Most people blame themselves when this happens thinking that they should have known which direction to push or pull the door, but UX design tells us that this is not the fault of the user, it is the fault of the person who designed the door. If a door has a handle that you can grab, it's telling the user that they should pull it, but what we found is that some doors have a handle even when they are supposed to be pushed.
These doors are called 'Norman Doors' because Don Norman was the first to coin the term when he used these doors as a door. Bad UX Design Example If we were to apply good UX design to a door, we would first evaluate whether the door should open inward or outward and then give the user the correct mechanism to perform the correct action. It's frustrating for people when we try. and open a door only to realize that we are doing it incorrectly, but when companies have websites and digital products and their users don't know what to do or how to achieve their goals, it can have a huge negative impact on the business, That's why UX design is a very lucrative and in-demand career path right now.
You've already heard some of my examples. I'd love to hear in the comments what bad UX design experiences you've had in the real world. Let's see Some of the steps that are involved in UX design are generally five fundamental steps which are understand, analyze, ideate, validate and iterate. We'll cover these steps in more detail in future videos, but we'll go over them quickly. Understanding is about understanding the user's needs and motivations. and objective analysis is to interpret data and investigate in a clear direction. id8 involves generating ideas and finding ways to solve user problems. Validate is the step where UX designers test their new ideas with real people and iterate is where the UX designer steps back through these stages. and continually improves and develops a product or service over time.
So let's look at some of the things a UX designer does day to day to tie it into the five steps I just mentioned in the understanding stage. A UX Designer will conduct research and interviews to really dig deeper and understand the frustrations and motivations in a user's behavior in the analysis stage, formulate data, gain insights, and evaluate patterns and trends in the ideation stage, they will begin to convert those insights. on concepts and will often bring in other people to work with them. To generate ideas in the validation stage, they will create prototypes to quickly test their ideas and run experiments with real users and customers.
The iteration stage is more of a mindset where you will go back and repeat these stages in a cycle to have continuous improvement, so I hope I have given you a better understanding of what UX design really is. It's an incredibly creative and rewarding career that allows you to improve the lives and experiences of real people. If you have any questions about the definitions of the terms or the stories.
