I have looked at it intensively in everyday life over the past few days and today I would like to tell you what is new and whether these innovations might be useful to you. At the beginning of the note, I'm in this video because that's what it's about. The name doesn't quite work. This year this round design was introduced. Visually nothing happens. Same size, there are some optical changes in colors, but overall it looks like the 4th generation. However, in this case the innovations are under the hood and are also a bit visual due to the LED.

The screen on the front has been revised and can now do much more. Not only does it look a little different with a new font and a slightly different font, but it can now also display things like the weather when you ask Alexa what kind of weather. is when the title of your song plays, it is shown to you once, which I also find very practical and there are other functions such as an expiration timer or maybe an alarm clock, this LED display has become more practical, personally we also like it using the Echos with an LED screen to show the time, for example, the Echo Dot is in our bathroom and consequently the innovations are really practical, I even think they could get a little more.

What would it be like in the long term, for example, if messages were read to me, etc. There is still a lot of potential for this screen, but is it good to see it going in this direction? The weather, the temperature, there is also a new temperature sensor in the little Echo, so you can also show or indicate the temperature in the room, there is also the possibility of linking everything to routines, but that is not an option. for me personally as I don't have a usage scenario in everyday life where I would say that if the temperature is Test the fans it means that somehow when the temperature goes over 23 degrees the fan turns on but at this moment it doesn't I have nothing like that, but if something like that is an option for you, it is now also possible with the ECHO point, the smart home standard that was just implemented.

I don't think it will be available here yet, but it will gradually be distributed to All Amazon eco-speakers, in this case they are of course also included. What's also new is a sort of tab feature, so you can tap it at the top and, for example, the Music button to pause the music or let it continue. replay or turn on repeat or end a timer, you don't have to say that anymore, but if the Echo is within reach you can quickly tap at the top. There are two small disadvantages, one of which isn't even that bad.

One drastic thing would be that there's no WiFi sex yet, so I might wish you'd finally get the update and not be stuck with Wi-Fi 5 and now there's no USB-C on the back with a speaker. Having a firm skin may not be a problem, but USB-C is a good standard that I would definitely like to see here. Let's go to the most interesting question and it has to do with sound, sound quality, because I mentioned it. It is mainly under update under the hood and Amazon says that the sound, audio quality and also the bass have been improved.

I'll probably include two examples right now, I don't know how many, in the video and the. It was all recorded a bit with my directional microphone, but you probably won't hear the same quality as the real version when the speaker is in the room. You may have the first impression, but what. What I can personally say is that the sound has improved a little and, above all, the bass has also improved a little. I compared it to the ECHO DOT 4. I listened to a lot of music back and forth and more. music I listened to, the more different genres, the more I realized that this Echo sounds a little better.

I would say that it can now keep up a little bit with the Homepod Mini, which is maybe a little better when it comes to treble, but it is a really good sound, however, you can only hear the difference when you find higher levels I think that when you set the volume higher from 3, the difference becomes more clearly visible or audible in this case and from five to six notes a significant difference. As for fullness, that should also be clear, it's not an Echo, especially not an Echo Studio, so now expect powerful bass, you'll still be disappointed, but it's a nice further development, the sound is now a bit better, the size of this case may not allow it in the end, but it's good to see that Amazon is making an effort here because of the sound.

It's been really good so far and you're just trying to optimize everything a little bit. a bit. What is my personal conclusion about the Amazon Echo dot 5 in everyday life? I can still recommend the Echo dot 5 or I can still recommend the Echo dot. Innovation also makes sense. Very very good because I like this little LED panel. I think it's a useful addition. I don't need a big color screen on the speakers, but a small screen for the weather, time or maybe now the title seems very, very to me. handy and I also don't think this tab feature is that bad because it's within my reach, actually in the bathroom and not so I can reach this speaker in my hand, and I've actually used it more often and of course.

You take it. I would also like to have a little better sound, although I would say don't expect a giant step because this size of box just doesn't allow for much more, but how do I organize everything now? I don't think a personal upgrade is worth it if you especially have a 4th generation Echo Dot or maybe the 3rd generation still has this old dot design. If you are now thinking of saying: I would like to buy a new Echo Dot, then I would honestly choose this model because that is the option. It is worth mentioning at this point that there is not only the version with a watch, of course there is also a version without a watch that costs €10 less than what we are talking about 60 and 70 euros, but I would always get €10 more investing in this model because I find this time display practical and you can also deactivate it if necessary, the RRP is one thing but anyone who knows Amazon knows that it's coming next Prime Day, that's where the Christmas promotion comes, that's when you get this speaker.

As a general rule, you can buy it much cheaper, so I wouldn't necessarily buy this speaker at the new price directly at the RRP of €70. , you can get the larger Echo for just a few euros. I think it's currently only €5 more which is a big step up in terms of sound but overall there will definitely be a sale soon where you can buy it in full for around €50 or maybe next year for less than €50 and if I wanted to get a new Echo there, I would honestly choose the Echo dot 5. That should have been my position.
