Wouxun KG-UV8D Cross-Band Repeater

Apr 01, 2024
Hello everyone, this is a demo of the ocean kg uv8, this Frost Bank

repeater

functions in front of us is our kg u VAD, we will turn it on, so now the unit is in frequency mode, the upper frequency will serve as the master frequency as indicated. by the main icon here and on the lower frequency which serves as secondary frequency so you can see that the upper frequency is marked on our UHF

band

operating frequency which is 4 6 2001 700 and the lower frequency is marked on 1 4 2 decimal 300 which serves as our VHF

band

operating frequency that we are going to use for this demo, okay, first we get this guy out of the way, okay, so the kg u dat has 2

repeater

configurations available, so we have x GI r PT or the so-called directional

cross

. band repeater mode and xt w RP t the so called two way

cross

over repeater mode the repeater settings can be accessed using menu 3 7 as you can see we have xt w r PT and then x di r PT then 4x VI r PT the x in x di r PT mode or in directional cross-fan repeater mode, the master frequency, the PFOS master receive frequency, I mean, it is the receive frequency of the cross-band receivers and the secondary VF or secondary of the transmit frequency is the transmit frequency of the cross pickup repeaters transmitters, okay, so in Directional Cross Band Repeater Mode, the master frequency will serve as the receiver and then the secondary frequency will serve as the transmit frequency, so in this case for 6mm or 700 since it is the master frequency it will be the received frequency from the receiver and this for 2300 will be d transmitted frequency while in two way cross range repeater mode or x TW r PT mode ok in standby mode, ok the unit is in standby mode both the master and secondary vehicle are receivers ok and then the VFO receives an effective carrier wave signal, the other VFO will be the transmitter and will start transmitting, the transmitter and the receiver are not fixed in the bi-directional crossover repeater mode, the first VFO received is the receiver and relatively the other works as a transmitter, what that means is that if it is in standby mode the UVA schedule receives the effective carrier wave signal in the secondary vfo secondary frequency, then the second derivative o will be the receiver and then the transmitter will be the master frequency, so in this case for 6 2 decimal 700, receive at 142 transmit at 4 6 2 decimal 700 but on the other hand , if this kg UVA t receives an effective carrier wave signal from the main or master frequency, the master frequency will be the frequency and the secondary frequency will be the transmitter frequency, so in two-way cross-ventilation repeater mode, the transceiver or transmitter and receiver are not fixed so both DFO can work as receiver or transmitter so let's check which repeater mode this ktuv 80 is in right now so again it is menu three seven. again to enter the selection and then from the selection you can use this knob to select, there are only two options, actually it is ex dir PT or TW r PT, okay, so let's first demonstrate ex dir PT, so if you choose this option, then you have to press menu again to confirm, okay and then exit, okay now to activate the repeater functionality.

Here what we do is press and hold our PT button until you see the crossband repeater icon at the top left of the screen. Now the unit is in directional cross band repeater mode to demonstrate this directional cross time repeater mode we will use some demo units so I have a balcony v5r here. Okay, it's in frequency mode, so it has style one for two decimal 300 and then another demo unit. Motorola E and 1000 are marked on channel 21 CTC s ah, so it is fine on 21 0, as mentioned above in the directional cross band, the Peter B mode master frequency will serve as the receiving frequency of the receiver and the frequency Secondary VFO will serve as the transmitter frequency.

More Interesting Facts About,

wouxun kg uv8d cross band repeater...

So since it's directional, it's just going to go from Asia, in this case, to VHF, okay, so let's check UHF, okay, okay, CH a-- and to VHF, as you can see, it's receiving now if we try to transmit from VHF radio to UHF Radio there will be no cross band repeater because it is in cross directional to beat only it is only from english to VHF vhf/uhf will not work now we activate the cross band repeater mode so again we go to the menu which disables D function of crossband repeater first, yes, hold down the RPT button until the crossband repeater icon disappears and then we do the menu three seven once again, the menu to enter the selection and then we feed on this choice we choose what xt w r PT Skaar traverse Two-way cross buddy will be R mode and then you will go back to the menu to confirm the selection then exit and then activate the cross buddy repeater function by using the r PT button, hold until you see the icon there and this time we can do it right from Eurasia to V Asia but also from Asia to give a sháá okay, so let's activate the browser tone here and then from us, so that's it, it's the two-way Crossman repeater mode, so once again to disable or disable the cross leg repeater function on the kg UV. 82 press and hold all r PT buttons until the icon disappears and the unit is now in normal transceiver communication mode.
