Kit Modification Series: Walthers Ore Dock

hatch. I actually added some latches there on the back. I know it will appear. You can see it from the railing, so I think that conveys that kind of look. Okay, you know, it seems like it should be. there i added some security decals, some drive transfers, it's actually b7, but you can see the capital B in there, it broke a little, which will happen over time, so i'm ok with that, it looks good, no I know why. that 15 is there in the corner if you can see that I don't know but dismantling III only works here man I tried to add well I didn't add clearance stickers at the end they are very hard to see. and I really hit them a little bit with Microsoft, yes over time they are going to be quite leery, but they just say there is no authorization there because it is a little tight when you get to the

dock

, but everything clears up, then I added some scratches built some platforms, Well, these are just those wooden crosses of who makes them.

Oh my god, I forget anyway, these are the ones I took a little bit to the northeast. I think it's a sighting, not a liner, they're like planks, they're not shipboard slats or bats, and it's like you know. sighting and then I had to build them, put them there, you can see, I had the little shovel there at the end of this little coal

dock

. Here I was trying to keep things organized and clean a little bit and then I had to add a little piece here to fill that gap and then paint it and I think it looks good, don't you think people are going to be studying this in excruciating detail, the supply, the greater detail that will be seen and then of course some of the pockets that are all numbered, those are dry transfers, individual of each one and all the details below.

More Interesting Facts About,

I added a ladder here if it appears. You know, I figured I've seen some photos there, some stairs on the docks and all that, so that's it. the coal dock again here at the end. I put that piece here to fit that little space that I knew was going to be there because it had that little bit there to allow me to adjust it if I needed to. You can see. I put it there, put some blue paint on it for now, it can go in and out. You put a little bit of water in there because it would be water and then you took out the gray wall a little bit here next to it, so now a couple of notes just to make this video even longer, things I would do differently if I were really going to do this again or for your consideration if you are thinking about making this document since it's on the front I don't like the way you can look right at the empty containers what I probably would have done when I'm putting it together is put some foam or a piece of styrene there, stick it and then Put some coal in there, I'm not going to pour it: or now, my goodness, it would take tons of coal to buy it all and fall to the bottom, but to show that there is: in the bins , that's what I would do.

It would also do a better job of rewiring the lights. I don't know if it will show up in the video, you might be able to see the wire so that will go over it. What I would probably try to do is put in a conduit and run it. through it to make it look a little neater so that Louie looks like you know the conduit that runs underneath, maybe try running it through some of the sides of the partitions and getting it right, and I don't think it's not a sample the plug, but you can tell, look at the wires there.

Now I went in and tried to paint. I'm a dirty black just to tone them down, hide them a little bit, but if I were to do it again, I would. a little more careful with that so they don't do it, so it's not so obvious. I could work if I turned the lights back on. I had them sticking out a little beyond the back of the partitions, which is what turned me away. an eighth of an inch from my wall here I am, I try to keep everything flush because I could. I just pushed it back against this block wall and didn't worry about adding this piece of diamond plate to fill that space, that's something I could have done to make my life a little easier, so those are the three things mains, other than that, you know, the kit came out as Walters intended, although I did, it's like I said some details and I used real data.
I think they are actually older. Walters are not the ones that are a little different and some details and the safety sign and all that kind of stuff, but first of all, 90% is the Walters kit as intended and of course he had it, already you know everything. lights at the bottom that I showed you before and everything, and there are still some. I did something here. It was a little out of place. There was an actual seam in the paper there, so I added a pipe duct going up to hide it. and you can see some of the cables back there.
I painted them black, so, yeah, I could do a better job of hiding it. Maybe you should have put something on this side, like a steel plate or something to hide it, but whatever, but that's pretty much it. No, I met you personally walking there and some guys working on the dock and someone actually got a boat to bring it here and I think it would work, it's just a matter of you being able to see what the space considerations of the island are like. Again, this is the smallest they'll push it back, but now you had a boat in there that's going to take up some space, so I'd like to make it mobile so it's not there all the time, so you have space and again I'm a little worried, we'll see how it goes, but this is also right in the eye.
I hope people don't crash into these. I think it's low enough so when you go to undock, if you have to, you know, run it over because I don't want to hook all these lights because I'm just clearing the track and a little bit of vibration here and there, but for the most part They're pretty sturdy, I hope, and one last thing: all the lights work. I did not do it. pinch some wires or break the wires when I was installing it, so for now I have the power off with this little toggle switch, I may or may not keep it there, I'm not sure, but boom, now it's probably hard to see, maybe maybe I could do it. a dark version but I don't think anyone cares but all the lights are working even the lights below all these lights are working along the dock you can see it but they work so it's controlled by that switch lever and you might want to add a couple more here, although I have to be careful because they have bench work and, one by four, all kinds of other good things to worry about, but we'll see, so that's the spring of Walters coal, so now that Again I'll do a little more fiddling around, I'm sure I will at some point, but for now I think we're good and I just got the stone back.
I have the stone in the back and I fill it and stuff. I watched that again, well we're all probably a little full of all sorts of details so I may get to that at some point but for now I have to end this. This video is probably getting too long, but that's it. The whole process from start to installation and operation to make it work, I did it. I'll show you a quick loading segment of some cars that I have, as you can see I have some empty ones here ready to go up, in fact that's the shortest track and I can fit 10 cars in there so this yard is bigger than which I think I need to power this frog because you know the Pico turns out the frog is very big and even that six axis unit will die there. a frog squeezer is coming, that's my choice, that's how I like to do it, but I'm hoping one arrives today, so I do it and then I put these empty containers on the dock or actually, should I leave the dog, they should be loaded, but these are the cars I have on hand, so I'll get our little pen, 7,600 will help us or I could take empty containers off the dock and whatever.
Okay, Walter's coal dock design and construction installation was hopefully instructive, maybe you learned something. bored to tears maybe you overslept maybe you enjoyed it with a bowl of popcorn and a couple of beers probably pretty good folks, that's all, so work on this, get up and now that this is done again, here I will babble a little more. but this is like the last big science project that I got into, so now, again, it's this frying pan real quick, it's cleaning up the mess, cleaning up the stage and then I'd like to have an operational session there anyway, like this which ooh, that's the carbon doc installed ready to go, so let's get this to work, let's get to work here, there's some guys populating this thing and getting some coal going.
