were reported in our area, the earthquake is blamed for everything from cracks in the pavement to burst water pipes and more.

Tonight we have live coverage of the impact and cleanup efforts in Newark. Tonight, more than two dozen people are outside their homes. Due to the earthquake, authorities say their buildings are compromised. Laor board CBS 2 live in Newark with the latest. Lor and Maurice, that earthquake shook these three houses. Here you can see the extensive damage to the roofs that are now torn apart by the living residents. Now we are making arrangements to sleep somewhere else tonight, some of them are still in shock, so very strongly, this is the first time I feel Karina Cruise got out of bed by an unexpected earthquake when she ran out of her house on 7th Street in Newark.

When did you know that? I received an alert. I was sitting there waiting for the doctor and I felt like I was in the chair getting my hair cut. Suddenly I feel the ground shaking. I thought it was the train. I had one about 10 years ago. a minor one, well how did this one feel compared to this one? This one was much stronger, well my girlfriend woke me up and asked me what was going on. I felt the bed shaking so uh, I thought, oh, it's probably an earthquake and then I just went back. to sleep it's my day off so I needed to sleep I felt like everything was swaying and it was very unusual I went back to work I thought about the train because when I looked at my phone I thought the trains weren't going to be running because when I saw it was a real earthquake I thought , oh God, the trains are going to be a problem and it wasn't, and you know everyone was doing their thing, everyone was like, did you feel it, did you feel it? you feel like I felt everything, I felt like the building was going to collapse and it wasn't a wave, nothing, you know, there was an earthquake in Queens a few years ago and I felt like I was in my kitchen and I felt like I was tiny. and I didn't feel this, I didn't feel the earthquake at all.
