s before the caucus ends Nevada to eliminate contenders? They are spending their time campaigning all over the state, except for Bernie Sanders. Kareem jean-pierre, director of public affairs at Move On and alumni. from both the Obama campaign and the Obama White House, thank you both for joining us and welcome, let me start with you Willie and I want to put a graph on the screen here, this is the financial picture of these campaigns on the eve of the caucuses Nevada election and just a week before Super Tuesday, you see there 55 million Bloomberg available, although in reality he has unlimited money and does whatever he wants, just go to Eternity, there that Bloomberg, but you see the rest there, Steyr Sanders and then after Sanders, everyone else is under 10 million, there's clover, Warren, both at three million.

More Interesting Facts About,

I was watching some of the ad spending in those Super Tuesday states this week. I looked at Virginia and saw $4 million worth of Bloomberg ads in the air and zero from all the other Democratic candidates. I wonder if there is a story with major implications for Super Tuesday that isn't being covered here. Well, I think absolutely. I mean, people say we're going to get to a national primary on Super Tuesday, but pretty much everyone else. The state has some form of early voting, except Virginia, so almost 40 to 50 percent of the ballots for Super Tuesday will be available for Super Tuesday, so it will not be on the air in these states and will seed the airwaves for Mayor Bloomberg and Senator Sanders.

Who knows? Substantial war chests, obviously, one makes a living with one's own money, but it's a huge disadvantage for campaigns like Senator Warren's, Mayor Budaj's, and Vice President Biden's to be completely absent from Kurian. We were trying to play around a little to set expectations. there in that last segment at the Nevada meeting tomorrow yeah, I think it's safe to say that the expectation that the favorite on this would be Bernie, say, hey, Nevada is the legalized gambling capital of the world, we could say that the favorite of the morning line in Nevada is probably going to be Bernie Sanders.

I wonder if it makes any difference to him when you start talking about trying to get this party to unite behind him. Is there any difference for him? A significant difference between winning this big tomorrow in Nevada with double digits 15 points something like that. like that versus another one of those victories like New Hampshire where it's, you know, two three points, he's under thirty and there's talk of the ceiling still there, yeah, so it's really interesting because Nevada is the first state that's diverse, we had the first. two states in which Iowa is ninety percent white and New Hampshire is ninety-three percent white.
We have a totally different type of Democratic electorate here and a lot of young Latino voters are excited about Bernie Sanders, which is incredibly important to him in the in the turnout in Nevada that we've had, as you explained, we've had a high turnout in the vote. early, seventy-five thousand people have already voted and the caucus state is actually working very well for Bernie, we saw that in 2016 because he has these This really loyal, extremely loyal base, he comes out with these types of caucus contests, so I think one of the reasons it's not in Nevada right now is because they probably feel very confident with early voting with the numbers we've been seeing. where he's in double digits in that state heading into tomorrow and because it's a more diverse contest, I think he can do much better than the last two contests.
Lilly, you heard that clip, they're getting into this segment. Bernie Sanders. To tell that crowd today that the Democratic establishment is afraid of him and afraid of his success is true and if so, it is the Democratic establishment that is in a position to prevent him from getting this

nomination

. I don't think there is some kind of Democratic secret. establishment meetings that take place in some back room somewhere where we decide as the Democratic establishment whether or not we are afraid of Bernie Sanders. I think if he knows what he wants to do right now is go from being the favorite to being the prohibitive one. favorite for the Democratic

nomination

and that starts in Nevada and I think I agree that if he pulls off a big victory there, it will have huge implications for the rest of the cycle and I think it will put him in a very good position to close the gap. in South Carolina and then going into Super Tuesday and I think if those things happen and this involves a lot of ifs, then I think the Democrats will rally around him if he's going to be the prohibitive favorite for the nomination because the most important thing for the Democrats, more important than any candidate they love, more important than any candidate they really don't like, is beating Donald Trump in November and I think Democrats will unite around that green.
There has been quite a bit of talk about this suggestion this week. that there's kind of a buildup behind Sanders in this race, then there's Bloomberg, but then there's Biden and they're going after the same voters and, by the way, there's also Budaj Edge and there's also Klobuchar and there's a lot of overlap there and there's no path clear at this point for any of them to have a clear and direct chance against Bernie Sanders and that because of that Sanders could skate at 30 or 35 percent in a group. of different primaries and build an insurmountable delegate lead.
Do you think it's a realistic prospect that it could go that way? Do you see a way tomorrow for one of these candidates to have that clear opportunity to attack him? I think it's going to be very difficult, look there. It's a battle for that moderate lane and there are many moderates fighting for that lane and with Biden's weakness, unfortunately for his campaign, it hasn't helped, which is why Bloomberg is in the race. Sanders has been able to consolidate himself. That progressive Lane, we'll see how Warren's fiery performance the other night in a debate whose debates have mattered, as we saw in New Hampshire with Klobuchar, got a promotion and was able to move up and did very well and raised some money. her debate the performance we'll see what happens with Lauren also that helps her that helps her in South Carolina I've been talking to people on the ground where there are rumors about her because of her debate performance recently and clearly in Nevada and now people are looking, they're looking, well, where are they going to put?, where is Biden going to put?, where is Warren going to put? and that's really going to influence South Carolina and move toward the Super Tuesday states.
