convention

, we have 45 contestants from 14 foreign countries and 24 states. I always like to say you know I wanted to be the best in the world at something two years ago at the Whistler International Convention in Louisburg, North Carolina. Luke Janssen, who had never competed there before, was crowned the grand whistling champion. They had a competition in 2010 in China that I would have liked to attend, but I was having a daughter, so I missed that unusual style called palate or throat. whistling enthralled and astonished judges whistling guard sold out I had kind of the idea that whistling was once cool and I think over the years it's gotten a bit worn out in the clown suit and the whistle and one day maybe it will, Maybe he could make it great again Now, after taking a year off, he will return to North Carolina to regain his title, but this time he will face new judges and face tough competition, including that of a fellow New Yorker.

More Interesting Facts About,

Look, I'd love to win. You can't assume that just because you're a veteran you know you have the big advantage. to anyone, so most people, when they whistle, they whistle, you know, they have a well, they call it parka, whistle style, so they put their lips together and blow. I will make the sound with my tongue on the roof of my mouth so that you have everything. the rest of your mouth to manipulate, you know they're healthy, so if you whistle inside your mouth like this, you can use your lips to make it sound like that because they allow me to whistle that way.

I think I have a bit of an advantage over the traditional

whistlers

, so I hope that as long as I don't mess up anything, I should compete with the Whistler women's and men's divisions in a preliminary round performing a classic in a pop song, I think it's important to come out as woman and really show what Lincoln did, not just that I'm a very powerful Whistler, so I think that kind of statement is kind of an additional statement of saying "hey, I am." a woman and I'm not delicate I'm here I'm making a statement and I have music for you the judges you know they're all classically trained so you know it's important to them that you get the notes right and that they're in tune and then the tone is correct.

I think it kind of depends on what the judges feel my style is. I think pretty clearly in the new category and a lot of other types of contestants, you're not, you're not a little bit older. There are different techniques and they are all legit and find out again and historically the Parker style has always been the one preferred by the judges. I'm using pieces that you know I've made. I feel comfortable. for the preliminary round and save things I haven't done in a long time, where even new things for the final after the preliminary rounds, both Luke Janssen and Steve Herbst advance to the final along with five others, my last classic that I'm doing.
Swan Lake and then I brought out the big guns for the last pop song and thought I'd do Stairway to Heaven. Well, next we also have Mr. New York. Luke Jensen, who will do a Led Zeppelin piece titled Stairway to Heaven mr. Luke Janssen from New York, the crowd reaction was quite a shock, people standing up and applauding and the wipers crying, so I'm pretty sure it's going to be a very, very close race, that honestly, whistling is something special, someone likes it, someone didn't like it, they didn't like it and now for our 2011 adult

international

Grand Champions in the men's category in 3rd place mr.
Luke Jensen this year, after the final evaluation, the new one did not beat the old one. Luke Janssen placed third overall and Steve Herbst, for the first time in his career, went home empty-handed. The only reason I can honestly think I didn't win is because one or more judges thought I wasn't purist enough and downgraded me. I won in 2009 and both of my pieces this year were better by a margin, you know, by some margin, so there must have been something.
