Is the macbook 16 (2019) still a good laptop in 2022?

Mar 22, 2024
so in this review I wanted to talk about the

2019

16 inch

macbook

pro in

2022

a couple of years later and I wanted to talk about the fact whether this is a

good

computer or not to this day. Now I have done reviews on this computer almost every year since I bought it and I have been using it to this day and I wanted to give you my opinion if I think this is a

good

computer to buy because since it is an older model it is very reduced price like you can get this a lot cheaper than when it was first released so I wanted to talk about if it's

still

worth a good buy so as you see here I have a Mac mini m1 chip and the m1 is the new computer of the century so to speak, if you're going to buy a

macbook

today you should probably buy something with the m1 or m2 that's like the latest and greatest, you'll get better battery life, something like 20 hours, uh , if you have a macbook with the m1 or m2 chip, but this is one of the latest macbooks that has an old Intel CPU.

That said, I'm just making this comparison against the m1 chip in the mac mini. When I'm editing video on this machine and my Mac Mini, I'd say the export times are pretty much identical. It's actually quite surprising how powerful the mac mini is because it's so much cheaper, but the great thing about the 16 inch macbook pro is because it's portable, I mean as far as

laptop

s go, this one is a very big

laptop

and it has a huge screen so if I open this up you can see how big the screen is. of the screen space and the image is how you know to look at it it's super sharp it's all that fantastic retina display a couple of things I wanted to mention what I

still

like about it and why I'm still using the

2019

16 inch macbook pro. the touch panel is fantastic.

More Interesting Facts About,

is the macbook 16 2019 still a good laptop in 2022...

I love this. The keys are really good. I like to use them. I think this is the best keyboard ever. I have an Apple magic keyboard and it is the same type of buttons. They used to have butterfly switches like it was terrible and this one has a really good keyboard. I don't like a couple of things about the 16-inch macbook pro and the first thing I want to mention is the touch bar. I have the idea was great when I decided to make the touch bar so you can customize your own buttons and stuff like that but I prefer the real buttons but I've gotten used to them to be completely honest and I don't press them accidentally. the touch bar which was my number one complaint about the 16 inch macbook pro, you get used to it and I programmed it in such a way that I no longer accidentally press those touch buttons so I really like it, in fact it has a finger touch .

Scanner so you can log in with your finger, which is very good in terms of ports, it has four USB C's Thunderbolt, very good, it does not have an SD card reader, which is a shame because you have to use a dongle and a adapter, it's kind. It's a shame, so I don't like that aspect. That would be pretty much the only reason I would consider buying a newer 16-inch MacBook Pro so you know a built-in SD card reader, but you know it's. It's really not that bad if you work a lot, sometimes it can be annoying having to get an adapter, but you get used to it, you know, it's so heavy that it weighs around two kilograms, I think it's not too heavy, I'm used to it.

I love the shape, this is the space gray version, so thin, it's so sleek, the battery life is still good, I get something like 10 hours when I'm editing and doing heavy stuff, sometimes it drops below that, But most of the time I continue. it came online and this is the computer that I use most of the time and I think it's a great computer on so many different levels. I really can't stress how much I love using this thing. In fact, it's so good you already know. I don't really see any reason to upgrade my computer and the prices I've seen on Amazon and stuff like that, I think it's a very good price you're getting for this now, some people would say you shouldn't do it.
Even look at this, you should only get something with the macbook with the m1 or m2 chip and I understand the argument because it's more future-proof that way, but you know nothing is future-proofed forever, you know, if you get a computer now. I'll use it at most three or four, maybe five years at most and if you got a 2019 macbook pro 16 now you can do a lot of things with this thing for the next five years without any problems before this computer I used to have a macbook 13 inch pro that I had for about eight years and, you know, it kept me very productive, so I use this MacBook mainly to browse the web and edit videos for YouTube and I still do that to this day. and I still love doing it and I would say sometimes it gets a little bit warm, you know, in the back and sometimes I use a case underneath or I use a little bit of padding or something, so if I put it on my lap or something like that and you get burned out, but yeah, it works fantastically well when it comes to computers, you can do a lot of things with computers, I like to look at computers as tools, what do you use them to know how productive you can be. and the macbook pro keeps me very productive.
I would recommend people buy this instead of something like, say, a macbook pro or a macbook air or a 13-inch macbook pro with the m1 chip. Well, I'd probably recommend that before. I would recommend this, but. If you want that big screen and you don't want to know, pay like three thousand dollars for a new 16-inch MacBook Pro, if you get a good deal, this is a very good machine, I think it's underrated in some ways. you know, because the people they're so focused on you know getting is the latest and greatest as far as performance and this I mean it just delivers, this is a workhorse and it's still a good workhorse and as I said, I have the Mac mini with the m1 and I use it for some work for some batch editing conversions and stuff, but most of the time I keep going back to the 16 inch macbook pro, I think the biggest strength of the 16 inch macbook pro 16 inches apart from its big screen is actually the performance, like there is a lot of power in this workhorse, this is a very powerful machine to this day and the ssd, the built-in nvme ssd, is super fast and its Workflow has virtually no obstacles, I don't have any. problems, it has 16 gigs of RAM, 512 gigs of storage and you know I can do a lot with it.
I wish the storage was a little bigger, although I'll be honest about it, but I often use these Samsung T7 hard drives that I just plug in. I pop it into my computer and it works great most of the time, I just edit directly to a portable SSD so it works phenomenally well. There's one more thing I wanted to mention before finishing this little review: it also has a 3.5 port for headphones and stuff, which is nice if you want to plug in, you know, headphones. I personally use airpods and wireless things, but if you want, there is also one thing that I forgot to mention one thing that I don't like about the macbook. pro is probably the webcam, but if you're not doing much of that or if you're just going to do it for a simple video conference, it'll work fine and oh, I forgot, you know there's so many things you can do when you do a region it won't bother you. you prepare for it you just speak from the heart you forget so many things another thing i really like is the speakers the speakers are like they have a huge grill on the side of the keyboard and it just works fantastically well so anyway i really recommend this computer to anyone considering purchasing it.
I think it's still a good buy in

2022

and I don't care what people say. People just hog performance and you always want the latest and greatest, but the truth is this machine. It's very capable, that's the simple truth, okay, that's all I have for this little review. I hope you enjoyed it and good luck with your purchasing decision.
