Powder coat fluid bed

Mar 20, 2024
What's up, everyone? I hope you are having a great day. I have another project for you. We are going to make a

fluid

bed. It can work with a

fluid

bed. It's something we use for

powder

coat

ing. I poured it and tied many of my own. Jigs and a layer of dust. Oh, we use the fluid bed to get a more uniform layer every time we put them in the oven. It doesn't cause any drips or clumps or anything like that. I made one a few years ago and it worked for a while. It was one I put together because I had some stuff lying around, but go ahead and show them the one I made a while ago and then we'll explain how I'm going to make a new one, so let's go.

Get to this, this here is the old one I made using a paper bag. This PVC crushed it there or it actually looked like it was glued on at some point, it needs to come undone, they say this one is old, she is a fitting here with another piece of PVC and it looks like a paint can lid or something that fits a little here for the hose to go in, so it worked, just something I put together, pumped a fish tank, some hose, maybe get a new hose and it all looks pretty old. It fits well here and controls the pressures, but what are we going to see how I made the new one?

More Interesting Facts About,

powder coat fluid bed...

Well, now you're looking at the components of my new, somewhat heavy-duty fluid bed. You don't really need this. I had a couple. these pieces lying around I had this right here lying around from a project I was going to do, but let's go ahead and use it, it's super sturdy, don't you think this is 40 gauge pipe? You also don't need super light pressures to slowly plug an epoxy fish tank pump, the same ones I used in the previous one. However, I got a new line, so I'll show you the first steps. Well, go and take this apart, find out which side.

This is going to be your top and bottom, I think we're going to do this or the bottom here as a stamp, yeah, I think that's going to make it our bottom, but we're just going to put this lid on the end right here. You don't need to seal it or anything like that, there you go, it's sealed enough, you don't need to put any kind of pox in here, anything like that, it says super low pressure, you know, you just don't put any glue, you know what the idea is here. Let's go and make a hole in the side.

I'll turn this up with our filter material. We're going to drill a hole here and then we're going to attach our hose and take the epoxy drink, no. I'm just going to grab an 8 inch drill bit, let's go ahead and figure out the middle here, it doesn't need to be on the top or bottom, none of that before you get to work, just grab the hose and make sure it fits. There it should go, yes, that's perfect, you don't need to go any further. What we will do is mix the epoxy and obtain this drawing. We will cut our other piece of PVC before you. cut your PVC, figure out how long I think you're going to need it, I think I'm going to prime it, it's like a four inch piece, you know, you know, you'll probably go up to about this area here, figure out how tall it is and give it a cut , you see, epoxy, we're going to use here just a five minute special epoxy nut, let's go ahead and mix it up, so here's the sole in front of one, just take the tip here and blow it up. out of there, take the tip here, put it on, maybe twist it there, yeah, mixing right now, okay, let's go ahead and put a little bit in our hose here, sure, stick them over there, I put a little bit on the outside here, it I will leave dry, I'll go and cut our PVC and with it I'll cut our pipe mark with three and a half inches instead of four.
I think it should be enough space to put in enough

powder

that we need. Let's go find a Cut, this is not the right tool for the job, but I'm firmly stocked well enough. Okay, you can go ahead and put the PVC in there. You want to make sure you own it all the way down that way, you don't have a gap. between the pipe and the fitting so I need a little coaxing so there's no gap between that what we're talking about you don't get there because dust gets stuck in there for our filter we're just using regular printer paper.
The kids use paper bags like you saw above, some use coffee filters, but I think they flow too much, but we trace this like in kindergarten, just trace it and cut it, make a couple of them if you want, we have extras, but I'm going to do one for now, okay, my teacher gave me an A-plus for that. I just passed Candy Garden, all right, next one, get your filter, put it in there, put the top cap on it, it's done, put it on top, twist it. It doesn't need to be super tight and the epoxies in your hose are pretty dry, go ahead and take our hose and cut it up, let's see how it goes, okay, it doesn't need to be an exact amount, let's take and put the end. here on the back of this we don't want air coming out of this side you want to connect the other two hoses here free our palms where you want the pump to sit you don't want it in your way when you're working so just put it there and wherever you want, make a rough cut here, nothing exact, not that important, put this in, connect it to the pump, okay, see if the valves are closed, that's it, that's what you need.
I'm working with you, wow, your dust is going to come in here, it's all something that controls your pressure by the valves here, like here, there, when you close it, turn it off for now, okay, go ahead and try this, this tuber here could in reality. be a little long we could end up cutting it but he is poor in powder and makes a mess like I did you can't lick it clean good this tube is a little long for what I want to use a force we'll go ahead and we'll throw the dust back in here and we'll take this pipe here and we'll cut it, okay, we cut a PVC a little bit shorter, oh, it's going to be hard to see if I have it, let's get on with using it. a purple maybe it will be purple it will be easier to see inside try to open it there you go like see it moving around now it almost looks like I made a mess yeah that's what it looks like it looks like I made a mess but it's good for lowering the pressure if it is a volcano hang so you can lower the pressure a little bit now you're going to powder now it's fluid exactly what you want it gives it a more even

coat

ing on your insoles well, let's go ahead and try one, okay?
I'll show you guys what we're doing here. It's going to bring our fluid bed up to where we want it to be a little bit high. Here we go, we're just going to powder coat one of these half ounce football jigs. These are just the ones I poured, but. We'll save it for another video. A big part of the problem these guys have when they pour or coat these things is that the solder dust gets cut out of their eyes. I don't need to have a coat of powder applied, so what I do is I take these little pieces of heat shrink and I place them over the eye when I heat swatch them.
I'm going to do another one here. Take a heat shrink, put it there, lower that down and take it out. nice and nice power code and even take the other pair of pliers, take it out, you've got a clean eye, the layer of eye powder hardens there, nice and solid, it's going to do another one, turn it on to line it up, dip it in the Fluid bed. pull out and remove the heat shrink, oh and one didn't come off, having pain, inside the toaster oven, slide them in and you're done with the dust. You can put a lid on this one of the test lids if you just use that color a lot and it will keep the moisture out of it, but when you're not using it, see if you can get it, just put it back in its container, you don't want any moisture getting in , turn it into a Make a mess before you guys make another color if you don't want purple in your color, take this apart, take your filter, you can cut more filters.
I say just printer paper, but take the filters and clean them. Go back there, take your blouse. part of its cylinder and clean the dust. I don't usually pour powder of this color, it's usually just black or brown, maybe a green pumpkin will ever want someone clean enough, this is not a must, but I mean, if you apply a layer of powder. anything using that powder tick and just doing it right from the jar this right here is awesome well guys thanks for watching the video it's a fun project it's going to make powder coating so much easier it was a lot better than the last one I made and It will make a much more even coat on the jigs or weights or whatever you are going to powder coat, but if you liked the video, please like, subscribe if you know anything about fishing with lights, share it with them, but like I said. thanks for watching and bye
