Herman Miller alternative? Hinomi H1 Pro Ergonomic Chair | Mark Ellis Reviews

Mar 21, 2024
I haven't bought a new office

chair

in about 10 years, but they recently sent me one and I think I was missing out. This is the hanomi H1 Pro

ergonomic

chair

and it is the first new office chair I have had in about 10 years. a decade, this is for two reasons, firstly, because I prefer not to spend a small fortune on a brand of chairs that most YouTubers seem to choose by default and secondly, because Hinomi has opened my eyes to what else is available. Hinomi is originally based. in Singapore and provide home, office, children's and gaming chairs, and are now bringing their bestseller, the H1 Pro, to Europe.

They are also sponsoring this video and sent me this chair to keep, but rest assured, I had no involvement in the content of this review and all opinions are my own spoiler. I'm really impressed, as mentioned above. I haven't bought a new office chair in about 10 years, so unboxing the H1 Pro was quite an experience. In this huge, heavy box I couldn't get over it, but that suggests your money is being well spent on what an office chair is and this feels like a tank even before you take it out of the box once you've done so.

More Interesting Facts About,

I recommend getting a little help with some of the pieces because they are quite heavy. Assembling the chair is actually very simple. I think it took me about 10-15 minutes, everything clicks into place and only two allen bolts are needed. Tightening with the included Allen wrench and I've never used a chair with so many adjustable points, the H1 Pro actually has 12. So let's go over them. There are two Point Lumber support armrests with three points of adjustment. Chair height with three-point headrest movement. Full seat depth recline angle with tension control and finally a fully adjustable backrest, guess what, that means you can set this precisely to best support your frame and as I've learned, that's actually very important, with my hands up, I have it pretty bad.

Posture when I sit in chairs, as you can probably see I lean forward too often and when I sit I'm never really at the optimal height for the desk, as I've learned over the years this can really have an effect bad. impact on your health and I'm that age now I'm 41 and I'm really starting to think about that kind of stuff now that I've looked into this. I'm not a doctor, so take everything I say with a grain of salt. of salt, but apparently you need to sit with your butt as far back in the chair as possible and the armrests should support your forearms in this way and ensure that your arms rest at a natural angle to the desk, equally your feet should be able to touch. the floor like mine now and it is also recommended that you unlock the back of the chair to allow them to rest like this and sway while doing their job, as I say I'm not a doctor guys I just know that I haven't been sitting well for a while and the H1 pro has given me all the functionality I need to start sitting properly.

So what is the H1 Pro like to set up and use well? The last thing you want from an

ergonomic

office chair. It's just going to be a pain in the ass if you'll excuse the pun to set it up once you've got it all together, which is why I was really happy to see the inclusion of a Hinobi setup and usage guide that you can basically scan. a QR code on the back of the manual which was a huge help and if you get one of these chairs I would recommend watching both videos but then spending a little time playing with those 12 settings and if you do any of that. research that I mentioned above, don't go on my words, please go and do proper research, but if you do that and have an idea of what you need to do with your sitting position thanks to the right real-life experts, I will know exactly how Change all these settings to make you feel better at the desktop.
It will help you get the correct chair height. The armrests in the correct position. Lumbar support just right and everything where it should be. It requires some trial and error and I found myself moving things up and down, in and out, and so on, just to try to get it exactly how I wanted it, but it's a lot of fun to set this up, there are three keys. The features of the H1 Pro that I think are worth highlighting. The first is the wooden support found here. Now Hinomi refers to this as 3D because they say it has five levels of height adjustment and four levels of forward support, and that's true.
I'm not used to office chairs with Lumber support. So at first this seemed a little strange to me, it seemed like there was something on the chair in the way, but once I changed the Lumber mount to move it flexibly back and forth so you can either basically fixed it or, like I have it now, it can move back and forth once I set it up like that, it made a lot of sense and in fact the change in my posture was noticeable and the lumbar support seems to have made the biggest difference now. Luckily I don't suffer from back pain at the moment but if you use a lumbar support like this it can be really helpful and the same goes for sitting in a chair for long periods of time if you're like me and me.
I sit there doing a ton of editing and stuff and I'm sitting in the same space for a long time, so having that lumbar support is really, really important. Then we have the 5D folding armrests and these are called 5D because they can move back and forth, out and in, you can even flip them all the way up if you want, I don't know, practice your imaginary guitar and lastly there is the recliner and the legrest, making this an incredibly inviting chair for sleeping and reclining chair. Part of this chair is great because you can adjust the tension, something I haven't seen before, so you can make it hard to lean back or you can make it very easy to lean back.
Just be careful with that last one. It is a completely safe chair, but when I put it in the easy recline mode it took me by surprise, but when you combine that reclining feature with the leg rest that hides away when you don't need it, this chair is nice. Honestly, a lot of it becomes a gamble that the 136 degree recline is wonderful. I have to stop using it because if I use it too much I won't do anything. Interestingly, the H1 Pro also has a unique folding design that I didn't do. At first I quite understand it, but when you think about it it makes a lot of sense and you can basically quickly fold it in half, which means you can then store it under your desk.
It's a brilliant way to save space, so if you have a standing desk that you use quite frequently, you can place your H1 Pro underneath it or if you have a small room where you want to get rid of that chair when you're not using it because it's a Quite a big chair, so having it in a small office or a small bedroom, for example, they can be a bit cumbersome when you're not using them, so the ability to fold them up and take them away is fantastic. Now, with all these amazing features, you must be wondering what it is all about.
Earth, the H1 Pro normally costs well, costing £800,199 in the UK, but until the end of this year you can pick it up for just £599; however it gets even better if you use my link in the description you will get another £120 off. It means you can get the H1 Pro for just £479 when you compare it to some of the other brand name chairs I referred to at the beginning of this video. It's a pretty good value, so I think the H1 Pro is a fantastic office chair. There are a couple of negative points. I should mention that some of the adjustments can be a little tricky to figure out, especially these armrests, so I found that part of the armrests to be fine up and down, no problem going back and forth type.
This can be a little tricky to get used to and it's quite easy to hit them by mistake. You get used to it, but it's a yes, a minor complaint. The other thing is a little sticky. It's good plastic, but. The wheels, for example, look a bit plastic. I think that brings them down to the price they are at, which is fair, but yeah, it's not as tinny or as premium as some of the more premium seats, but that's why they cost a bit. huge amount of money and never mind for someone like me who has never sat in an ergonomic chair and doesn't want to spend a small fortune on one this has been an absolute revelation and most importantly it is already benefiting my health.
I already feel better sitting on the H1 Pro and my posture has definitely improved. I think, taking all that into account, I think it's well priced given the excellent build quality and massive 15 year warranty, so remember if you fancy picking up one of these yourself for just £479 click the link in my description, you will have to be quick because I know this offer will end before the end of the year, but it has been a great investment, but has it been an investment that shipped? For me, wasn't it? They sent me this. I've been very lucky, but I buy it.
I would buy one of these without a doubt. I really recommend it, so check it out, click the link in my description and if you want to see more. of what happens at my production desk, which is where this chair is located, keep looking for a link to a video where I give a complete tour of that desk.
