charges

with the FBI investigating this we should expect federal

charges

and what those might be I definitely think we will see federal charges the fact that the FBI already is investigating this means that they think there is something there, you know, the hate crimes law was first passed in 1968, but it was improved in 1968, it only included crimes that are based on the racial color creed, but now We have a law in 2009 that will basically protect the LGBT and gender community, so I think they are going to see this as a hate crime under federal law.
Yes, we will see what state and federal charges arise. This could be added more, of course, to both. Well, the man who opened fire on a Buffalo. The New York supermarket in May will not have to appear in court yet for what is expected to be a guilty plea. Welcome back to Law and Crime Daily. There was uproar over the weekend after the Ticketmaster crisis and the cancellation of Taylor Swift ticket sales. on Thursday Ticketmaster canceled its public sales of Taylor Swift's Arrows tour after things went crazy during the pre-sale Ticketmaster says there were extraordinarily high demands on ticketing systems and insufficient is her first tour in five years the Issues with ticket sales put Ticketmaster and its parent company Live Nation Entertainment back in the spotlight. The Department of Justice recently opened an investigation focused on whether Live Nation is violating antitrust laws with a ticket resale website. like StubHub and sells individual tickets for between $600 for the last row in Las Vegas and three thousand dollars. for the front line in Atlanta Ticketmaster says its systems had to handle more than 3 billion requests, meaning some people in the virtual queue had to deal with the site crashing when they got to the purchase page.
It's unclear when Ticketmaster will reopen Taylor Swift sales. tour or if there were still tickets left after the pre-sale explosion, Terry. I say this as the husband of a Swifty who just asks to play at Devil's Advocate, so don't come after me, but how do we go from Swifty not getting tickets to It being a legal issue, well, it's a legal issue because it's a antitrust. Ironically, Brian, we know that the Department of Justice approved the merger of these two companies in 2010. They are now investigating Live Nation to see whether or not they have violated any antitrust laws. -Trust laws mean they have a monopoly and do not take into account the public interest.
They say they are really doing the right thing and they take these laws very seriously and of course Taylor Swift falls in the middle. With the difficulty here of getting these tickets to sell well, so the Justice Department approves it at first and now they're coming after them, it sounds like a lot of bad blood, but Bernardo, let's say the Justice Department is successful, what? does that mean for Ticketmaster and people who don't? They didn't get their tickets. I'm just asking for a friend whose wife asked the right question. The problem with Brian is that you won't be able to tell.
See an accurate list of all those people who were actually in line searching. buy those tickets, so it will be difficult to determine, so I doubt there is any payment or agreement related to them. I think there will be a broad sort of agreement that we look at Ticketmaster Live Nation. We'll have to come to some sort of agreement to prevent this from happening again and some stiff fines, so it looks like they'll never be back together in terms of those fines, so we'll see how the case goes.
