Our goal with those cars is to get them online and restore them one day and then we sell a lot of these cars, we take trades, but we basically just stick with the Ford, whether the Mustang is very popular or in Reno or a Fairlane, but no Chevrolet, neither Camaros nor Corvettes were just 100% Ford and then you have a lot of parts; We have many pieces that we can go over there now if you want. This is one of our storage rooms. We try to keep things organized, from the rear end to the cylinder heads and interior parts.
Yeah, and in our business we're probably our best customer, so having all the extra pieces. and many of the original parts we can always improve a car, that is, remove a defective part, leave a better part, okay, what do you have here? If we can, this could be the best opportunity here. 9 inch to 8 inch to 28 spline to 31 spline we maintain numerous engine blocks from Boss 302 to 428 and 429 we try to maintain as many outdated cylinder heads as possible whenever we need meat or a flea market if we can buy something for the better the car What we do, obviously you end up with extra pieces and we just try to keep it organized.
This is the 67 GT fastback, it's a factory S code car, which code would be 390 and we're getting ready to go. It was cut due to rust and now we are going to bring it back to life. Behind it is a 63 Fairlane that we bought in Tennessee. It's a black car from the factory, but it's a pie code that would be 289 high performance for speed. and if you can Majan, this one in black will be a really nice car and this is my, this is a lime green 70 boss 302 that we had dipped and put in primer and we are close to starting the restoration, another bet. these things and so much time around here you never know what car we might buy next that needs a properly dated engine like what is this engine here this is just a basic 302 2 barrel the engine in front if that engine goes on a 70 Shelby gt350 it's a 351 Windsor, well here we just have some exhaust gases that just came out of the car.
I hate to throw it away, hopefully someone can use it and then underneath you'll see Cobra Jet blocks 428 Wall Street, two boss blocks 429 and assorted. of about 289 cylinder heads additional dash parts additional console parts again we are in a business where we can't throw anything away so this is your car collection what about the rest of the store? What do you have? Well, let's go this way. It is a 1974 Mustang two pro stock car that was raced in the 70s, it has a boss 351 engine, something interesting to see if you are old school, remember the days of drag racing, it is a 2,200 miles it was used for testing in the 60's, it's pretty good as is, it's old school stuff, we've restored it.
Here is a 68

shelby

gt350 convertible, black, factory, four speed, that we just had the engine serviced. That's a custom my car no, it's one of our cars and this is a 70 boss 302 when gold metallic boss 302 this was a factory W code which is a 430 gear this car was white gold metallic with ginger interior here you go a survivor, a 28,000 mile grabber The orange boss 302 here is a factory, well it's a blue boss 429 grabber that belonged to a friend of mine who passed away and he modified it in the 70's, not a practical street, again , old school, this is a 70 blue boss 302 that We're doing some finishing touches to get it ready for a show and then here's a bull grabber that's a great color for the Boss 302s.
This is a 70 blue grabber car that just to leave one of our painting workshops now that it is starting. to go together starting to look like a car the dashes don't - it goes together this suspension you can see the engine is now in the car and then this is a boss survivor 302 original payment lime green hershey pennsylvania who's just your car so yeah yeah , and then going over some details in this way to make things more correct and service it, they removed the interior, they removed the carpet, I had to find an outdated windshield, so it is about to come back to life and this car here.
It's a friend's car, this is a 70, you know, with air conditioning and starting the restoration procedure and this is the Benz for these cars, since they all have about 35 containers, you mean they all have, each car needs 25 beams for the party, oh yeah, each car that is apart takes about 35 containers Jerry, let's meet Blake Blake is a smart young tape technician. I think what are you doing? I do more just general assembly on vehicles, you know, disassembly and assembly, the car will come like this. Marc came over and we took it apart, you know, getting ready for cleaning and painting, and then we sent it off to be cleaned and painted, and this is what it looks like when he comes back and I'm in the process of putting it back up. together doing this is Sean Jones very good at details.
I'm working on this 70 boss 302. I'm trying to find the right fan spacer right now. Okay, how much work are you going to do? You simply mean what you are going to do. Overall, I'm going to do a full assembly on this one and I just got back from the body shop a week or two ago and we've made a pretty good jump, but it's coming together really well. Oh, Dave, one of our workers that I had to go to the chrome shop, processes every nut and bolt here and then ships them out and phosphate coats them to take care of the yellow zinc, so this is all original hardware that someone gave us and then if you go this way, I can see most of the phosphate slurry, so that doesn't stop us from going ahead with a project that this would be your cat's claim and then coming in here, you see, he didn't use a lot of yellow st. the yellow colors, but you can see things like the seat belt bolts, the hood bumpers, the rear lug nuts, here are four shock absorbers for that boss.
You can see that the shock absorbers are gloss black, the front ones were identified with a white Merrick and the rear ones also with an orange marking. for the workers and those will end up on this car, hopefully at the end of the day, every piece that comes off this car, someone has to deal with it, I mean if it's a nut or a bolt, it has to be clean, bad , go to the body shops, but everything must be made a decision for the car and for the client now, how many of these cars that are restored for yours and how many of my clients, what is the proportion probably here today, probably 70% , 70% are for me in the business and Probably 30% of customer cars are in use right now, but we also have a lot of cars that are not here right now.
I think we have eight or nine in the paint shop right now, so it's a constant, you know?we pick one up we drop it when we pick up when we drop look one it's like a one hour game for adults a monkey move up and then they'll come in here well this is where after all the machine work is done this is where We will do the final assembly of the engines and the final details. This is a 66 to 89 hypo for 66 Shelby that will be coming out of the paint shop very soon. This engine we just finished.
This is a 71 boss 351. The car is close to I leave the paint shop and then this is a 69 boss 429 that we are struggling to take apart to prepare to go to the machine shop to see if it needs a new plate, pistons, camshaft cams, etc. and then this is a 70 boss 302 that I just put together, so now we're getting ready to put the heads on the oil pan, but the pistons are on the crankshafts and it's starting its procedure. This brings us back to the office, but here is one of our rooms that we used. It was an office and we used to store many of our pieces.
We have almost every carburetor you can imagine for a Ford. We try to keep everything in stock. We maintain almost all fuel pumps dating back to the cars. Likewise with all the additional distributor carburetor parts, anything, here are additional air cleaners and agitators and things that we use in our daily work. Jerry, this is going to our lunch. First we did a Hearst wall that was very popular in the '70s, very colorful, and then this. This is where the colleagues come in. This is where they will have lunch. It's a full kitchen so obviously it gets them away from the workshop and we can have meetings here and talk about our workload and what's going to be done and the schedule we need.
Do it in this container. Here it is. Larry's office there it is Larry pipe two minutes Larry talk to us what are you working on now Larry oh that 70 Mach one around the corner we are putting together the DePorter for it we check and look at everything the client had and then what can be used what can't be used and then take that and place an order what's an painting, how long have you been here since we started the business 19 years ago, all these years over here, where Jackie's office is, over here, this is kind of our wall of fame, hopefully you recognize most of these items . you took the photos and you wrote you wrote the articles here is a good example here is the 68 Shelby that we just talked about on the other side of the building it is a rare find already it is cool again some of the articles you have done over the years the 429 Ranchero back here that you just took pictures of here's a Mach 1 that you did a story about that when the process of redoing the original car this is my wait is that car out there those cars in the back yeah, we just took out the engine out of it, oh it's out, yeah it's out right now, we'll search okay, this is a 302 promo boss that you just solved the engine for in the engine room, where are we now?
Well, Jerry, we're out, we're moving. There are cars today because we had a rainy day, these races are special to my heart, this belonged upstairs and he was a Xerox copy repairman, but it's an original paint 70 MOC and it's a 428 drag pack, can you imagine working in the trunk of that? instead of a minivan maybe and in this car here is a 67 Shelby gt350. He forced me. I was around this car when I got out of high school. It was painted gold on that car lot. It's really fun because it's a small block and I just bought it. this car is a surviving 51 wallstreet but it's pewter with red interior so it's a perfect car for ohio state and then i just bought this yellow boss we just got it running we put the engine back together but this is a 69 yellow 302 black interior and this It's a good drill here, this is a thirty thousand mile survivor 351, a maroon wall, just a fun car to run around town, but again, I know you saw the blue Mach in the wall over there, even though you did the back search. article about the cars outside we just took the engine out and forced it through because it is like that most of its life so our goal with this car is to repair some areas, bumper mounts and remove its heater this will help to finish our cake. code 63 for the lane you saw on the other side and then this is a car, this is a medium brown Boss 302 with ginger blazer interior, a classy combination, different anyway, well, like a car like that, some people see that Mustang convertible like an ugly car.
I see it as a blank canvas that can be a great car in about a year because we're not lucky enough to be able to start with something like this. I started because I love cars and I started playing with them. cars at home, which led me to helping friends with engines and interiors and doing things properly, going to car shows and then opening it up, a small business was about 1,500 square feet and a year and a half later it came to 3,200 and then it went to forty. eight hundred seven thousand eleven thousand now we have twenty seven thousand square feet
