every

. Technically, that title is a lie. I go to

every

cafe

in the

country

and Canada. The rainforest cafe is home to many strange animatronic animals. and monkey noises, rainforest cafe describes itself as a jungle themed restaurant that was originally created in 1995 in the mall of america by steven shustler. If you know Rainforest Cafe, you probably know it because there was one in your mall near your hometown that probably already closed, but there are currently 18 locations left in the US and Canada, but you're probably wondering why I would do this.
i ate at every rainforest cafe in the country
My friend Ted, also a YouTuber, Ted asked me if he would be willing to go on a three-way trip. week long road trip to visit every rainforest cafe in the country and Canada, so obviously my response was Ted, that's possibly the stupidest idea for a trip I've ever heard of in my life and I'm on it, for which is currently Wednesday, May 25, 2022 and I am about to embark on the greatest journey of my entire life. I should also mention that there are a couple of challenges to this road trip, one that we can only navigate depending on when the rainforest cafes open and close in that specific location and two, I've only been. to a rainforest cafe maybe once in my life and to challenge myself even more.

More Interesting Facts About,

i ate at every rainforest cafe in the country...

I haven't looked at the Rainforest Cafe menu before starting this trip, so today I'll find out what my options are for the next three weeks of my life. How stupid, this is so stupid, this is so stupid, so the first rainforest cafe we thought of was in Los Angeles, but it's actually right here in Ontario, California, and so, with a group of friends, we We went and as we got closer, my excitement grew as we walked. I got to that mall and I saw that beautiful sign with running water, the rainforest cafe, don't walk away, don't walk away, because then you can see that most of it is a blank wall and they just made a little sign on one great wall so we got everyone together, walked in and there was the first rainforest cafe out of 18.

Oh wow it was something there were monkeys everywhere. So many, I can't emphasize how many vines there are in this restaurant. When we walked in, we noticed these large aquarium pillars. That seems to be missing, it's an important aspect of an aquarium, trying to remember what it's called, oh fish, yes, there are no fish, just a bunch of bubbles, but as we sat there I only had one thing on my mind: the menu, which I hadn't seen yet. the menu and I couldn't have guessed the things I would read next, we easily started with something like the rainforest burger, okay I understand that rasta pasta, oh okay, and then we got things like Iggy's pig sandwich or mojo bones and it really started to I was told that these were some of my only food options for the next 21 days, whether I liked it or not, there were mojo bones on the menu, so we ordered some drinks and had a little fun .

I bought the fried fish tacos here they were, they were good. and while we were eating I didn't know that the jungle cafe has thunderstorms, yes I think those storms happen every 20 minutes and I will be in the jungle cafe a lot so I will experience them every 20 minutes most days and finally I did a stop in the bathroom. and I couldn't have guessed what would happen when I walked through that little door of the king of the jungle, a complete safari around the urinals and the daily cakes, the birds staring at me, judging that I couldn't escape the rainforest even if I did.
I'll try, I was like Robin Williams in Jumanji now, if the only Jumanji you've seen is the one with rock and Kevin Hart, I totally understand that it's a similar scenario, but in Robin Williams he's a boy and his father owns a shoe factory and he accidentally fires one of the best workers and then that night he plays Jumanji and gets trapped in the board game in the jungle for so long that that kid turns into a wild Robin Williams, so that's the reference I'm making if you didn't. I understand anyway, sorry, that was all the first day and we drove home on that road.
I started mentally preparing myself for the journey that was about to begin, so it's the morning that it's really starting to dawn on me and I'm going to be on the road for three weeks and then I'm thinking, why am I going to be on the road for three weeks to go to every rainforest cafe in the country and someone might say oh, that sounds fun? You know, three weeks on the road with your girlfriend hanging out. the whole country no, not my girlfriend Ted, so I said goodbye to Chrissy and Ted and hit the road 21 days 18 cafes in the rainforest and a lot of miles the plan for the day is to Phoenix, where we eat in our first coffee in the rainforest.
We then drove a little further to Tucson to spend the night, but along the way a tragedy occurred. I like to hydrate maybe too much and my body wasn't exactly in road trip mode yet, so I had a little emergency. So we stopped because I needed an emergency pee or I was going to pee in single shifts. I was going to pee my pants like a little boy, so we got to the gas station. They don't have a bathroom here. There is a cat. Luckily for me, the checkout right next door was closed, so I walked into that bar and grill after almost wetting my pants like a little kid.
We continued towards Phoenix and arrived just in time. There it was, under the beautiful Phoenix sun. Our second cafe in the rainforest. but very quickly, a word from our sponsoring city, if you don't already know, Seatgeek is a ticketing app that allows you to buy tickets to major events on your phone. Is an application. How hard is an app to know if you buy tickets on your phone? This shouldn't be complicated for you at this point and it's summer now, so if you're not busy going to all the rainforest cafes in the US and Canada, you can go to all the concerts that are happening right now where Kendrick is about to participate. tour dkink also wanted me to tell you that they want to make sure you get a good deal so when you are in the app look for green dots.
Green dots mean good offer. Red means bad. So use the code Eddie to get 20 off your tickets at Seatgeek. That's 20 off your first purchase using code Eddie. You can click the link in the description below to download the app. Now go back to the video. I was again in a shopping center that looked identical to the previous one. The last one was in Ontario Mills and this one was. Arizona Mills, a lot of the rainforest cafes are in identical shopping centers which are one place and then Mills, after he walked in, there were still no fish, just a bunch of bubbles again and we were sitting next to two animatronic elephants and They were making noise, it's kind of funny because it's like everything was allowed at the Phoenix Jungle Cafe, including storms.
I forgot to mention that there were four storms yesterday while we were eating. I'm going to keep a total storm counter in the Jungle Café just to make sure we don't miss any. There were four yesterday and three during this meal, so we now have a total of seven storms. I ordered the rainforest burger and it was a chain burger, like getting a burger at Applebee's, it was about a five out of ten and the fries were actually pretty good, Ted got an appetizer which was a mozzarella flatbread with arugula and for jungle coffee this was incredible.
If I bought it in a better restaurant, I don't think so, but for jungle coffee this is the best I've tried so far, you know? It's really nice to have a quiet meal in the rain so we paid, left and headed to Tucson to sleep through the night exhausted after the first day so after the Phoenix Jungle Cafe there isn't a Jungle Cafe until Texas where there are four. dallas san antonio houston and galveston or galveston I don't know how to pronounce your place so we split the trip into two days, first we drove to the campground near White Sands National Park in New Mexico, arrived and got this campsite.
I couldn't. I think how beautiful this place was, it was great to camp here and the next morning we headed on a 10 hour drive to Dallas, but first we stopped at White Sands National Park, look how nice, okay, that's enough, but most importantly I stopped at the world's largest pistachio, look how big this nut is when we moved to Dallas for rainforest cafe number three. I started to get very confused about the quality of rainforest coffees in this state because upon arriving at Gravine Mills, yes, I was in another similar shopping center. to the previous ones, I was surprised to find that there were people there and they were having fun, they also had fish, something mysterious and possibly illegal was going on here and I was sure of it, I bought a rainforest burger again so I could compare it directly.
For the Phoenix one, the Phoenix one was okay and this one was pretty good. What will happen the next day. We moved to San Antonio to eat at a rainforest cafe with some friends and this one was great. I was on a walk along the river. in the middle of the city I don't get it so this rainforest cafe is actually a cool place to eat that doesn't really make sense to me I'm supposed to be in a mall and depressed I have the turkey club there and After After several days of coffee in the rainforest and camping food, it was really good and fresh and I liked it, no, no, so our plan to move around Texas was going very well.
We were on our way to Houston until the truck started making this noise, so the next morning, I rested a little while Ted waited for 8:00am. m. at a Midas in Austin, Texas, and at that Midas they decided to play Saving Private Ryan at full volume and after the movie, Ted came out to make a phone call and also update me. and when he returned they were playing save Private Ryan again, but the car was repaired in a timely manner and we were on our way to Katy Mills in Katy, Texas, just outside of Houston. Oh, I also forgot to mention that we went to the Alvaya. mayan sanctuary showed us this place it's great i have to hold a snake i have to hold a bird i have to pet an emu thank you maya for inviting us this was great if you want to donate to alves i'll put the link in the description below let's get back to the trip and then After a stressful day worrying about the truck, I'll be honest, this rainforest cafe broke me.
I was exhausted after five days of traveling and this was probably the most depressing rainforest cafe we had. I've been looking at this elephant's mouth, look, don't look away, don't jump, look at it. I bought Creole macaroni and cheese and although it looks pretty good, it was so rich, filling and creamy that I could only pass. a couple bites and I felt terrible for wasting this food right now I'm low on mental health this guy is judging me that's why this guy took his nipples out I don't even know what this guy is doing so we headed back I went back to the hotel and I was sad and panicked because I had only finished five days and we had many more left.
Looks like I've been traveling too much for you, so my experience with Katie Mills was a little depressing, but I had no idea what to expect tomorrow, okay, day six, um, oh, I'm small in this painting, we're about 26 minutes from Galveston, Texas, which I think is like an island city and quite touristy. Ted and I were very excited on the way to Galveston because we had heard it was the best coffee in the rainforest, but nothing could have prepared me for the absolute gold standard. This restaurant was this rainforest cafe it was a cascading volcano that was built directly on the beach and actually had a separate building next to it to take a walk, say goodbye to boring rainforest cafes this palace was located on its own, not connected to Wetzel's pretzels or a tapas shop where in 2011 they sold so many flat-brimmed caps with superhero logos and, unlike Katy Mills.
I was feeling amazing, so I ordered one of their ice creams and their souvenir cups so I could get a cup with cha-cha the tree frog on top, Ted, and I started having the time of our lives. They had better mozzarella sticks as an appetizer. everyone there was happy and I was happy enough that I ordered the most embarrassing thing to say on the menu and said all this out loud. Hello, I would like Iggy's pig sandwich, please serve it to me in a bowl and give it to me. I have a little pig nose so I can growl while I devour it like a pig.
The sandwich was pretty good. I think there was too much meat. The Iggy sandwich was too porky, but aside from the turkey club, this is probably the best thing I've had so far. This has been the maximum of the entire trip. Ted and I were having the time of our lives. Make the sound. Do it all. Leaving Galveston was like saying goodbye to a friend fromthe childhood. Ted and me. Surely this experience had changed the rest of our lives and after that we headed to spend the night in New Orleans and walked down Bourbon Street. We had a great time drinking everything about this place.
It was a lot of fun some days on a road trip. in the country you go to the best rainforest cafe of your life and end the night in New Orleans and some days you drive eight hours from New Orleans to Gainesville and that's pretty much all that happens and it's exhausting that there aren't any cafes in the rainforest, nothing really. but, uh, road trip, so the plan for the day was to skip the Orlando rainforest cafes and head up Florida to Fort Lauderdale, but I can't stress enough that you're watching a montage of this. I was so exhausted that it was eight in a row.
Days of more than 48 hours of driving with practically nothing more than sleep driving and cafes in the rainforest. It was like a woodpecker in my brain. I was so exhausted at this point and it didn't help that the Fort Lauderdale Sawgrass Mills rainforest cafe was in another shopping center. Oh. OMG, it's another boring mall diversion. I got the Blue Mountain chicken sandwich. It was okay, the chicken was very dry, but when I went to the bathroom I noticed something interesting. I was far from friends and family, but wherever I went, these monkeys were here for me.
They weren't just paintings on a wall in a jungle-themed restaurant in American malls. No, no, these monkeys were my friends that we had gone through. Things together were here for me, no matter where I went, these were my friends, these were my boys, so I don't know much about the future of this trip, but I do know these monkeys are putting my mental health up the wall and that's how I know I'm okay getting to Orlando was great. I got to see Chrissy again. We all had dinner with Drew and Amanda. Am I in the shot?
Oh yeah, I'm in the shot. Yes, understand it. Yes Yes. in the shot, oh, you're totally, yes, yes, yes, delicious, this dinner was, uh, very damn. Disney Springs was a cool building. They had a volcano that shot fire and I was going to get something healthy, but Drew pointed out on the menu that there was a forty dollar bet and that's usually not on the menu, so I got a 40 steak at the jungle cafe tropical. Yeah, it just happens every time this happens every 20 minutes. We also tried a lot of appetizers because we were in a large group. a pepperoni flatbread that we were sure was just pizza and we were right, my steak finally arrived and it was actually pretty good.
I should point out that it was pretty good for what I expected at the Rainforest Cafe, so after a great meal of appetizers and our own mains. the waiter said next time you see me I'll have the bill and then he disappeared for 40 minutes so we sat listening to storm after storm, how do you feel about number four of the night for a thunderstorm, easily the scariest until now? others I thought they weren't even trying, but this is scary, I'm shaking in my boots, I bought some boots and I'm shaking them well, those are really nice, yes they shake a lot, yes they go all the way. my thigh yeah I like that and we were so ready to get out of there we're going to Disney after Disney Springs was the rainforest cafe outside of Animal Kingdom and they had a breakfast menu meaning I didn't have what to eat the normal menu for one day, we had sandwiches for breakfast, they were pretty good, Ted had a Bloody Mary at 9am before walking around Disney in the sun during the day and then we had fun in the park and did you know that the animal Kingdom? park actually turned the rainforest cafe animatronics into real walking things, I mean the money Disney has to make these animatronics look, it almost looks like they are eating out of a tree.
It was a very, very fun day at Disney and then Chrissy and I arrived. go eat sushi, walk along the boardwalk and I thought, man, this is a great end to the trip, I had driven so far, we had accomplished a lot and I was ready to go home, sorry we're only halfway through, but no. I can't do that, I must have counted it wrong, there can't be any more, there are too many, I'm already so tired of this rainforest coffee, the safari fries, I can't even spare myself another one, that's just one, two, three, four. five six seven eight nine that's it oh no oh god oh god no don't make me go please don't make me go please okay ted is in the shower we have a great trip today we are headed to the nashville rainforest cafe that en Number 11.
We have two days of driving left to get to work in New York City and then we begin the final stretch across the country. Once we start that final stretch, maybe I'll feel like I'm heading home and not stuck doing the dumbest idea of all time because I don't know if you've seen up to this point and been thinking it's a pretty smart idea. , but really when you're in this and three weeks of your life and you miss your girlfriend and you miss your apartment and your uh bad and your life starts to become what's the word um stupid idiot stupid stupid idea so to nashville um me i made a mistake in the last clip this is the 10th rainforest cafe so go back one on the progress bar which was very low on energy, it's the 10th rainforest cafe in 12 days and also at 11am. m., however, ted wasn't exactly where I was energy-wise, oh oh my gosh, oh my gosh, salsa, oh my gosh, hot dog, hot diggity dog, do you think I could maybe ask?
The rainforest cafe people dunked Ted headfirst into the tank and left him there. Orty Mills was another Mills rainforest cafe. The mall looked almost identical inside to eight other malls we had been to. I lost count and I don't even know where. I'm not anymore, we had a couple minutes to kill, so we went to a store in Nashville and tried on some hats, so I got the turkey club, which I know is kind of boring to get again, but today I'm feeling as if he were dead. of so many rainforest cafes, so it's a sandwich and my turkey club was okay, but before we left I had something very.
I can see your fenders today, Ted, and I have my sights set on another rainforest cafe. I could see this cat on the gas. However, as you can see, I clearly caught this cat trying to park in a handicapped spot. I recorded it on camera. I would like to press charges against this cat or at least give him a ticket, so we were on our way to Atlantic City and something like that. It happened really, really bad while we were driving, we went over, I wouldn't describe it as a bump in the road, you know, those stretches of road where there's a little bit of a guardrail and the pavement goes up like a little bit and then goes away.
On the way back we ran over it in the truck and immediately the truck bounced like crazy. He had suggested we stop. We stopped at a gas station in the middle of Delaware and when Ted looked at the truck he noticed the entire body of the truck. it was leaning to the left this doesn't look good now i don't know much about cars or trucks so when we got back to the welcome center to call aaa we were both not sure if this was the end of the trip yeah i got it. Basically, I'm on a road trip right now.
We were driving my truck when we hit a bump in the road and I'm 90% sure you're visually looking at it, but the left front shot broke. We had to cancel our reservations in Atlantic City and spend the night in Newark, Delaware, so the towing company told Ted that they can only fit one person on a tow truck, so I'm going to use the Uber. I'm out in the rain but trying to stay dry uh ted is there with the tacoma being loaded onto a tow truck we're towing the car um and now we're splitting up and we're meeting at the hotel it feels a little weird but just uh, bye, I'll see you in a moment, yeah, bye, I guess we'll see you later, so there's only one seat there.
I can't go with Ted, but it feels weird to abandon him with the tow truck and go back to the hotel alone this is so stupid this whole idea is so dumb and you hear the idea and you say oh that would be so much fun, it would be so much fun if we did this trip and then it's the 13th and you're in the rain and the truck breaks down and you don't know what you're going to do. I have all my bags here and I'll head to the nearest hotel. I need to call an Uber or else.
I'm going to be stuck in the Biden welcome center for the rest of my life. I don't feel very welcome. Joe Delaware hasn't been welcoming so far. Joe. The estimate we got to fix the truck was around two days, which wasn't an option for us. Miraculously the truck was fixed that afternoon, which was great, but the opposite of a miracle was that we had to go to two cafes. of the rainforest in one day, two days in a row, so we quickly booked it for Atlantic City, had mozzarella sticks and they were good, all the food is good at the rainforest cafe, everything is good, then we drove to Edison , New Jersey, to the saddest rainforest cafe I've ever seen.
Employees at other rainforest cafes said this is the worst and you can. The sign outside and in the shopping center says we are here. Luckily, Jakey and Fritz accompanied us. I ordered a steak at the worst cafe in the rainforest because I thought it would be fun and my steak was small. Here's my hand for scale and it was great too. dry cry, wayne gretzky, the last one, the last little tears, they said it all, man, we went back to New York with Jakey and Fritz and had a great time, but we barely managed to sleep before we had to book it at the rainforest cafe of buffalo from Niagara Falls, there we had. a spinach dip and it was one of the best things we had, but I'm so tired of being here, but at least Ted and I were done for today and we could wait.
There is another one in Canada on the other side of the bridge, which is the one in Canada. There are two. in Niagara Falls I have to eat another one today oh God we have to go to Canada now. We were just denied entry into Canada because we did not have the proper information filled out. It was our fault, but we did it and now we are doing it. Round two honey, round two my sanity is hanging by a thread so lucky for me the Canada Rainforest Cafe in Niagara Falls was pretty good, apparently it's the only privately owned rainforest cafe and they had a shark in his tank.
Ted and I were facing each other. row of seats for these bouncers and bought a salmon dish which was by far the best thing I have ever had at the rainforest cafe. It feels weird coming out of my mouth, but it was a good meal. This salmon was really, really good. It didn't burn, they wanted to emphasize that it didn't burn, that was the frosting on the side, but this is by far the number one thing I've ever tried and I don't think anything beats this, so Jungle Cafe you did it. You made a good plate of food that I consider better than Jungle Cafe quality.
Will I give it to Jungle Cafe Company? No, because this is privately owned, so really the credit goes to, I guess, this restaurant. This is where I started. feeling like I was living in groundhog day we drove through more of Canada we woke up we drove to Michigan we ate at a rainforest cafe we drove some more we stayed at my mom's house in Chicago but we had to leave immediately to go to a cafe from the rainforest in gurnee illinois oh my god i have to go to another one luckily my good friend danny gonzalez accompanied us and i was very happy to see him although i wasn't very happy to be back in another jungle cafe ya buy me a I remember yes, do you want to get one? maybe that says that says danny you want them this one I bet there's one that says danny if you want I have to say megan I'm sorry you said they too they all say megan so that's what I want Ted and Danny were having a great time.
I hear it. I can not do this anymore. I'm so tired of this menu. I bought the Korean spicy stir fry. It was good. The rice was very hard. The chicken was dry. too much sauce on the bottom and when I went to the bathroom there were animals there but my monkey friends were not there my monkeys were not in the bathroom do you understand why that is a problem? Look at them, they know I'm having a bad time, they look at me and laugh, they think I'm a joke. Ted and Danny were having a lot of fun.
I can understand it for Danny. This is his first coffee in the rainforest, Ted, however how is he enjoying this? This is number 16. So. We then said goodbye to Danny, it was really good to see him, and headed to another rainforest cafe. The next rainforest cafe at the Mall of America is the original rainforest cafe. The reason for all this and after driving five more hours we finally arrived at the original source. of the Jungle Café, this was my final boss because every rainforest café that has marked a full year of my life has been located in a shopping center and this is not only the original location, but it is the largest shopping center that there is in the United States, this rainforest cafe represented everything. that was getting in the way of me goinghome we bump into the sign again and look at them they're laughing at me maya iggy bamba cha-cha rio and niall knew they made me eat this damn menu again and stuffed my face with safari fries to come back to eat these mozzarella sticks because Ted ordered them for the billionth time and speaking of Ted, look at him, look at him having fun, this is the 17th rainforest cafe of 18, how come he doesn't lose his mind?
All I can hear is the rainforest I can hear the elephants when I go to sleep When I close my eyes I see them I see them laughing at me I can't make another rainforest coffee I just can't do it right so maybe I let myself take a little bit Yesterday the rainforest went a little to my head, sorry but I'm happy to say there's only one rainforest cafe left that I'll have to go to again, but it's in Las Vegas so Ted and I did the On our trip across the country we saw the jolly green giant, who was also very giant but he didn't have his own jolly green giant, if you know what I'm saying, the man has no balls and then we drove through Nebraska through of the rocky mountains. which was beautiful, then we camped in the desert near Arches National Park and the next day I woke up in the best mood of my life.
Today was the last day I would have to go eat at a jungle cafe and I even had the pleasure. about meeting one of my heroes at the gas station noting that I'm a huge fan, so when we got to Las Vegas I was on top of the world, we hopped in an uber and headed to the last cafe in the rainforest, Ted and finally I decided to celebrate. getting the most famous dish on the menu, the volcano cake, seeing it arrive on the table was as joyful as I could only assume it is to watch your child for the first time, so I made a spoonful and when it hit my mouth, it was.
It was very sweet, it was super sweet, but I didn't care because when I was finishing I realized that it was already over, it was over and the only thing left to do was say goodbye to all my friends, goodbye gorilla, goodbye bird, goodbye, tracy tree. Goodbye Gorilla Goodbye Monkey Goodbye Gorilla Goodbye Gorilla Walking out into this super hot Las Vegas air was one of the best feelings I've ever felt in my life Three whole weeks 18 rainforest cafes crossed off the list Ted and I had done the impossible and I I guess we set a world record, but I don't know if there's a record they were measuring for this, but I'm pretty sure we're the first to do this, so we had an amazing night in Vegas, we ended that night with a moment of tranquility in front of the bellagio fountain reflecting on the trip we had taken and finally after 21 days it was time to return home, honey, so now I have returned from my trip across the country and to be honest, although this Part of it was very silly, I'm very proud of what Ted and I have done over the last three weeks: we got to travel around the country and see so many amazing parts, meet a lot of really interesting new people, see family and friends, but I think at the heart of everything.
Of this the biggest thing that shines is the rainforest cafe, not only is the atmosphere of each restaurant amazing but really what it's all about is the food, the iggy's piggy sandwich, the mojo bones, the Creole macaroni and cheese I fed myself on during the road trip. ways that I could only describe as food or in my stomach so I have to thank you Jungle Café for being a great friend to me during this trip across the country because you really were the best part of everything and in that sense I should say that, I'm lying, oh my god, I will never set foot in a rainforest cafe again if I have to see one of those animatronics or eat a safari chip again.
Safari fries are just fries that you can't just put down. safari in front of something and turn it into a new food, it's just a foreign frog
