The product that I wanted to share with you is going to open up a whole level of

charging

options for you in the past, just generally how you're going to charge. your Tesla is, you have to go to a public charger or you charge it at home and, you just turn on your Tesla, now what you can do is use what is called a CCS type adapter for your Tesla, this end here connects to a charger CCS, this end obviously goes to your Tesla and the reason you want to use something like this and it's a game changer, guys, it allows you to choose so many different

charging

settings from DC, not regular AC, but DC, currently most Tesla owners. who don't have access to fast charging they're going to go to a fast charger they're going to go to a Tesla Supercharger station and they're going to charge their cars the problem with that is it's getting exceptionally expensive for you to charge now I understand that the charging network from Tesla is by far the best charging network you can find in the US, no questions asked about that, it also has the fastest charging speeds I've seen across the spectrum and it's very convenient to essentially go to one that is relatively close to where you can live and charge, so I'm not going to discuss Tesla's charging network.

It's set up very well, but what I don't like is the cost of charging using a Tesla Supercharger network based on my readings and things I've seen Tesla continues to increase its charging rate. I have seen some chargers that go in the 60 70 80 cents per kilowatt during their peak hours and that will be between 4 pm and 9 pm and during those hours. after that it goes down a bit, but the other problem you face is the off-peak hours which Tesla calls off-peak hours, it's just absurd, it's 12pm. m. until 4 a.m. m. in the morning or sorry. From 12 a.m. to 4 a.m. in the morning.

I don't know about you, but I like to sleep and I don't have time to go charging at 12 in the morning. It's just ridiculous to have a CCS adapter for your Tesla. It changes the game substantially because you can now charge at stations that only have CCS chargers and are much

cheap

er than a Tesla Supercharger. Give me a second here and I took the liberty of researching some of these sites. Now I prepared the sheet here. It's going to be real quick for you guys to take a look and I'm going to base my numbers on a monthly basis of 500 kilowatts that Tesla is using now again, this is not for people who can charge their Teslas at home at 21 cents per kilowatt they just can't exceed that rate, but again, this is for the average citizens who live in apartments, live in condos, live or rent houses and cannot install a level 2 charger, so let's say that monthly you use your Tesla 500 kilowatts and arbitrarily I'm going to Choosing 30 cents per kilowatt charging using a Tesla charger monthly, that's $190 you're spending to charge your Tesla at a supercharging station.
Now on the west coast we have a company. Called EVCS, they are a subscription based charging company. Now keep in mind the caveat is that they are not everywhere, they are an up and coming freight company; However, depending on your needs, you can purchase a subscription plan that meets your needs and charge unlimited, but. there is a caveat, again, based on the 500 kilowatts we are charging into our Tesla. I am using the

evcs

4995 monthly subscription charge. What that does is it allows me 200 kilowatts of charging power after 200 kilowatts. I'm paying 29 cents per kilowatt. It's still much

cheap

er than what the average person pays for a Tesla Supercharger, so if I use 500 watts, my cost of using the

evcs

network is one hundred and thirty-seven dollars.
Basically, I have saved 53 dollars in that time by using the evcs charging network. Now here's another one. one that is very popular in the US is Electrify America. It is also a very affordable subscription plan. They have different plans that you can check also based on the same. We are using 500 kilowatts if you buy their four dollars a month. What the subscription does is allow you to charge at a lower rate, so four dollars reduces your charging from 43 cents per kilowatt to 31 cents, which is still pretty cheap. So based on 500 kilowatts, I'm spending $159 a month using the Electrify America system now if I want to break it down over the years period.
If you use any of the evcs, you are saving $636. If you use Electrify America, $372, so you're saving a ton of money now before they say, "Hey, this is awesome." To give a caveat and be very transparent with you, obviously you have to buy a CCS adapter, they range from 200 on up to I think Tesla charges 250 dollars. Now I have a code for you, it's fnatic 15. So fan one five just go to the handshaw website you can use it now until I think it's December and get 25 off this charger so yeah you have to buy a charger.
Sorry, a charger adapter, either from Hand Show Tesser or wherever you need it. The other issue is definitely the charging speeds, again you can't beat Tesla's charging network and speed. Later I'll show you where I went and how fast I loaded on these networks to see if it's something you can do. work with the other thing I recommend you do is download an app called plugshare plug share it will show you literally all the chargers around you, you can sort them by CCS Tesla j1772, whatever you want. I use it because again it helps me locate chargers that I can use for cheap so my friends, without further ado, let's go ahead and get into the meat of this.
Let's look at some videos I made about the loading areas I went to. Show them how easy it is, how cheap it is, and how they can save money by using a different charging network. I'm at the Electrify America power station and it's pretty easy to set up so let's go ahead and show you what I got here, this is going to be the Handshell CCS adapter, all you do is basically plug this thing in and it goes right into the port of charges and here is the station that you see here, it has the near field communication setup where you can just tap on your phone and make sure it starts charging in your Tesla.
It's very easy to do. I came here with about 68 or 67 percent. I would like this to actually be a 150 kilowatt charger, so it is a fast charger. I'm going to go ahead and stay here for about 10 minutes because I'm going to get to a couple more places so you can see, but we'll head back to the car. I'm going to show you how fast The 150 kilowatt charger is charging the model and so let's go over here and take a look at the screen so you can see. I have my limit set at 90 percent, it is charging at about 116 miles per hour, looks like my vehicle. it only draws 35 kilowatts, which is definitely slow because it says I have 30 minutes left to essentially reach 21 percent more, not that fast.
I'm not quite sure why it only charges at 36, it should definitely charge much higher. but I'm going to stop charging because I'm going to get to a couple of other points for you guys to see, but if you take a look at the kilowatt rate here, it looks like it's gone up. I saw it as high as 40, so it stays constant at 127 miles per hour. You have four kilowatts that I added. I'm at 72 percent and, taking a look at my phone, this will be the app you'll use to Electrify America. the speed at which I've gone up and how much it's cost me to add essentially five kilowatts, so we're going to go ahead and stop charging.
I will head to my next stop and load location. I stopped by a Tesla supercharging station. to add it to the mix so you guys can also see a comparison now let's go ahead and just change this and everyone know you just can't beat the Tesla charging network uh right now I'm sitting at about 64 As for speed in kilowatts, 220 miles per hour, it's at 63 and I don't know how much it costs right now. There's really nothing on my screen here that shows it to me, but I can tell you just by looking how much it's costing right now.
It's not cheap, I'm guessing it's at least 50 cents, maybe 60 plus an hour, so I'm already at 91 and by God, it's going up as fast as it would be filling up with gas, so what I'm going to do is I'm going to stop charging because it's so expensive here, but the main thing is I wanted to see you guys or at least show you how expensive it is in the middle of the day with a Tesla supercharger setup, so we'll go. Go ahead, stop and we'll get out of here, so let me detail you the correct procedure to configure the CCS for the evcs charging network.
As you can see my car is already plugged in and what you need to do first is you want to unplug the adapter from the charging station, plug in your CCS adapter, go ahead and plug it into your Tesla and then at that point you just want to come over here with everyone these buttons, maybe you can see that this is some kind of step. that you want to continue, you connect it and it will tell you that you should continue and use your phone. open the app on your phone from there you will just scan this code here and it will ask you if you want to start press start and then this button here you can press on start.
You also have the option to choose the maximum kilowatt power for your car or you can choose 80 percent. There is also a stop button here and below here the amount will be listed. that we've charged the amount of charge that I currently have and stuff, so now what I'm going to do is show you what the speeds are on the Tesla. I'm inside the vehicle right now and I wanted to show you the type of speeds you're getting. My Y is currently charging at 48 kilowatts. It gives them about 162 miles per hour, three were added and I actually set my charging limit to 100 percent and that's because with any new account you set up, it gives you 200 kilowatts for

free

, so I'm going to max that out while I can.
You saw here, it shows that there are 45 minutes left. I came here with about 60 percent, so overall this speed is not incredibly fast, but it is definitely substantially. faster than you're going to get in level two, so we'll go ahead and relax here a little more. I'm going to load up as much as I can and then we'll take off. Now I'm at 91, 15 minutes left and if you take a look, the system or Tesla has reduced the charging speed from 50 to 34 uh so it's definitely slowed down a little bit, my app tells me I've charged about. 25 Sorry, 25 kilowatts in 32 minutes, so not bad again.
I went from 60 to 91. I'll let it charge for probably another five minutes to 95 percent and we'll stop charging completely at that point and that's it. Just to summarize today's video, my only purpose of the video was to really help the average Tesla owner who doesn't have access to cheap charging and charging at their disposal all the time, just some information to help them charge their Teslas Too much faster. As I mentioned above, Tesla continues to increase their charging rates and they constantly change their time of use rates to the point where I don't know about you or me, I don't want to wake up at one o'clock. in the morning to charge my Tesla as cheaply as possible.
I prefer to be able to charge it whenever and wherever I want without it being a financial burden, so I hope today's video has given you enough information to make the right decision. to charge your Tesla for cheap. I want to express that the two freight companies that I went to today just to talk to, were actually companies that, according to research, had the best freight rates available. I know you have evgo, there is also a charging point, which is a big charging company, but from my research their rates tend to be a little more expensive and they have time of use rates so it's a tiered scale and it's definitely not the cheapest.
I would recommend that you take a look at your region, whether you are inthe United States, on the West Coast, Midwest or East Coast, or somewhere in the world. Take a look at the companies out there and see what they charge to quickly charge your Tesla with DC. Having it on the CCS charging adapter really opens up a world. of charging options for you and again I hope you can find much faster charging than How much will a Tesla Supercharger cost you now?
