Mar 13, 2024
Hi everyone, I'm Elisa, the scrappywife behind scrappywife.com and today I'm working on three

custom

planner

s for the month of January. I'm very excited, they are unique themes and I think you will really enjoy them. If you want to follow the process, let's go well. As I said, today we have three

custom

spreads

. Debbie uses a large vertical sheet and wants a cat theme, so I pulled out my cozy Critter sticker book and then some Washi. and some images that my Cricut is currently cutting as we speak, then we have Griselle using a classic vertical and her sweet baby is being dedicated on February 26th, so we'll do a topic centered around that and then at the end, but no.

The least is Denise who wears an oversized vertical and goes to see Tim Allen, Tim the tool man, Taylor, with her husband, so we thought it would be fun to do a tool man theme, so that It's also exciting. I have some stickers printed. For that, I think I'm going to start with Debbie, let's just go through these. I'll link everything she used below. You can see I have a bunch of supplies pulled out, ready to go and then I always end up pulling out a few more things, we'll see how it goes. I'll put you on fast forward, okay while I get started, let me start by saying I'm doing voice overs in my car currently, so right now there's construction going on in my craft studio, we're putting in a full bathroom in the basement, which It's going to be great for the guests, but also really great when I start teaching, so there will be a bathroom available, so that's very important, but there's definitely a jackhammer going on. and while I was recording this, Jack Cameron was talking while I was doing the actual work, so I thought no one wants to hear that in the background, so I went out to my car to do the voiceover, so if it sounds a little different, that's probably why we're starting this post, guys.

More Interesting Facts About,

how to save special moments in your memory planner january custom planner spreads...

I struggled a bit with this post. I wanted to make one. I wanted to have these images that I printed well. The colors didn't match. I had a difficulty. It took me a long time to get the colors to match so I was really only able to use the blue cats in the end, that worked out. I love the Cozy Critters sticker book, it's one of my favorites from the most recent release, but it's all different types of Critters. and I was definitely focused on making a cat extension for this design now Debbie, the patron I have who requested this extension, has three cats and she said that I didn't have to make the cats in the extension look like her cats, but I I think they all deserve a shout out anyway, so first there are patches that are white with a black tail and a black patch, then Simon is big and orange, he's a big Tom cat and I actually think Simon is represented more forward here and then. there's Sheldon, who is an all-black cat and is kind of the baby of the group, so Sheldon can be represented by Tada with this one.

I think the only one I missed is the patches, there isn't actually a patch one here, but the other cats are represented. I love this great cutout. I thought it would be a really fun sticker to use to put the month on, so Debbie, when you're filling out the spread, it's a great place to write the month. In fact, I went ahead and did it for you because there you have it. I knew you wanted this for March so let's go ahead and put in the pink letters and I had these Alpha stickers from Well for God that fit perfectly so we labeled this March and now.

I'm ready to get started and continue with the rest of the extension, like I said. I struggled a little bit because I wanted to use these stickers and then for some reason my Cricut didn't cut them very well, so something else, it was just You know, it was one of those days and considering there was some hammering in the background, I think this came out great, we're going to add spotty dot tape on top as well just to frame the All of this is actually from Amazon so it's not the best quality, it was breaking a lot so I was struggling a little bit with the spotty dot tape, but I get it there and I like it, this is one of my favorites. washi tape, it's just not the best quality, so I love the pattern, not the quality, and I just have to learn how to work with it from there.
I didn't really have a good sticker on the sidebar so I'm just going to put a couple of boxes over here is my first blue cat which is cute and then a little checklist a little bit annotated a little checklist again most of the decals will be Cozy Critters there are a lot of pinks and a lot of blues and then I like the touches of black. I think it works really well for the spread, so let's go ahead and take out everyone I can find that has cats, that's the goal. Here I have my sticker guide again.
These are plastic sheets that help you. It's kind of a compilation of sticker plan

spreads

and in this case it's helping me pull out a bunch of the different ones that have cats on them so I can make sure I use them on my spread and then this double box was super cute so I thought I'd go pretty good too, I love putting double boxes in the bottom right corner, it feels like a great place to take notes for next week, write down something important that will happen on the weekends because for our family, that's usually when all the stuff happens important, etc.
We're going to place this in the right corner and then we're going to bring in another little blue cat. I bring these cats all the time and mix them up with the cats that are in the book because we're just going to go with everyone. the different cat shells, all the cats and all the different shaped cats, like I said the pink ones didn't end up working well for me but that's okay the blue ones will work pretty well and I think I'm going to start getting them . some of these black boxes so these are the Mojo JoJo black boxes.
I love that she has some of these striped. I think they are fun and interesting. I think her original intention was to use them for

memory

planning because I've seen JoJo's

memory

planning and she loves the lined boxes. I think they look great in

your

regular

planner

and when you use a large vertical planner, I love making classic stickers inside a large vertical planner. I think it looks great with the border. I like space. which gives you the feeling of space, so everything is not so cluttered, so actually what I'm going to do is mess this up, but I'm going to end up putting quite a few of these black boxes with the lines and that's going to make me give a little more direction as I start doing decorative things on the page so you can see.
I'm trying to plan where the different boxes are going to go. It's helping me make sure there's still functionality because, e

special

ly when I'm working on a sponsor spread, I want to provide as much functionality as possible when I'm making my own spreads. I know what days I need boxes. I know which days I need checklists with my user extensions many times. I don't have those details, so I always want to make sure I do my best to put features in lists, bullets, and boxes everywhere, so there's plenty of room so you can see how the black boxes anchored the entire page and then I can place other decorative boxes around them.
I'm trying to figure out where they will fit best. I love layering stickers so it's no problem for me these ones touch and overlap on top of each other and then let's see what else I can take out so there are several clear stickers and I like it because there are so many square shapes that I I like to put some of these in Angles, so, for example, I'm looking under where this one is going to go and then I'm going to do it at a slight angle, like it's a little sign hanging from the corner of that box. um, I think it's cute, but then look how close one ends up to the pink, no, I don't like it, so the pink appears, very carefully, nothing broke, it was a sticker.
Miracle, let's move the pink up here, which at first I thought, oh, that's a bit. uh, Liney likes Matchy Matchy, but when I placed a box (actually two boxes) on top of the pink sticker, it broke up some of the extra lines that were forming and I ended up really liking how that arrangement looked. At this point, I have some more decorative ones. stickers so I know where I want to go. I have a couple more signs, one big and one small, and then I like these frames, this is just you, it's the cutest sticker book, Cozy Critters, every time I play with it, I remember it. how much I like it, so let's put this cute little boy who will live here.
This is our orange cat. He's adorable, so we'll put him there. Let me make sure the white is there so there's nothing extra. then we're going to make another sign off here again to break all the vertical horizontal lines, making it slightly tilted. It's good, it changes it for

your

view, so again play with the white. To conclude, how nice it is that now I just need to add some bullet points. I think I probably have some fun cats on the page that can be added, so let's see what cats I can find. Here's our orange guy I could go to.
Up there maybe down there I think down here he will be playing with those flowers because why not? I mean cats like flowers, so we're going to put them here. He's playing with the vase and then, um, I think I find one more. I'm trying to remember if I found one more or not. I have to whiten because it's a clear decal so I always try to whiten the lines behind those clear decals, that's just an extra thing you don't have to do on white. Behind your clear decals, that's just a matter of preference for me.
Okay, I want to include one more blue cat because I like things in groups of three, so I'll do it very carefully. This is a great contact paper, but like I said, I think my Cricut was in a mood that happens sometimes, your Cricut just isn't up to the job, so I had to do a little extra work to get it done. Look how cute, okay, a few little Banner flags and then the extension will be pretty. quickly, oh, I'm looking for where I can put this sticker today. It's not actually on the page right now, but I'll add it off camera, so just going through all those different ones, let's start to spread them out. do it based on color so this reddish color is on the left side frame so i need that color on the right side.
I use bullets and flags to help me distribute things across the entire length once. Those are in place and will be the only ones for Debbie's cat themed post. Let me know what you think below. I think it turned out super cute. I struggled at first with this one. I think he let me down on all my stickers. It didn't work the way I intended to use it, but that happens sometimes, you have big plans and you have to pivot during the process and that's totally okay. The following is Grizzell's article for baby Aaron's dedication. I'm so excited she asked me to do it. do the spread I did a spread for her during the week Erin was born and now he's being dedicated and I'm just so excited I'm so excited so I actually put out live love Posh come on To go with a bunch of flowers blues here, I didn't really necessarily have dedication themed stickers, but I thought I had some pretty Faith stickers that would work and I thought soft blues and a little purple would be beautiful, so I started.
These particular flowers in the corners and then you'll see that they spread throughout, they'll be at the top and at the bottom, really setting the theme for the entire page. I think Jessica at Live Love Posh and probably Heather Kell at Kel of a plan, make these florals the best way and there are so many that I love that you get two of each leaf. This turns out to be from her rainbow flowers. Live the love. Elegant rainbow flowers. This is the blue sticker book. I mean, you get two, two sheets of each. so you don't feel like you have to hoard them and then the boxes coordinate and it's great.
I love it, so I'm going to distribute them. You can see that when I put them halfway I just cut the edge off and then flip it over and use it on another section so you get the most out of your stickers. I love creating these beautiful borders. I like to put them there in the middle. These flowers are so versatile and I think they are so soft. and Serene, I thought dedication week is probably a great week because you probably have family, yes there's probably a lot going on, maybe you're planning a lunch or who knows, so I wanted to give Gazelle a lot of functionality, so we're.
We're going to add quite a few pieces here but we're also going to add a lot of phrases and a lot of places for her to write Bible verses that she could be praying for Aaron or praying for the whole event and I thought That would be a great combination of a faith planner and a general planner . You're bringing them together because you have this big faith-based event in your life, so I'm justtaking out a bunch of different stickers. I'm going to say this is the fun face sticker book. I think it's an older one, it has a lot of bright colors, but it actually had a lot of blue, so I took out a lot of the blue that was there.
I can't read everything. the phrases and like I said, I'm in my car so I can't see everything I chose there, but of course it says Graceful Grace on the left side, write it down, it's for a verse, so I thought it would be a great verse, place to Griselle to plan the entire week as a verse. If you are meditating on that particular week, we have a weekly scripture checklist. You don't have to put Scripture in there, that could just be a checklist for the week. I only like blue colors. I thought it turned out really well and then I have a bunch of retired boxes.
I'm just looking again for more blue stuff to make sure I have everything I can. I like the little prayer which is cute and then we have another little checklist right here so there's a lot of features and a lot of opportunities to just help you focus on the event that's happening at the end of the week on February 26th which turns out It being my daughter's birthday, so I think that's something extra. I think it's a great day to choose to dedicate to sweet Aaron right on this Faith sticker. book I'm looking at these quotes in black I love God is good and I'll actually end up using several of these quotes throughout.
I love that they were written in black because I feel like it goes really well with the length and it's really soft. writing was absolutely beautiful, so this one you're going to put here and I'm going to delete it and everything and you guys are going to end up moving this, no big deal, it'll be fine, but it's just going to end up moving as we go, you can see. I'm mixing function and decoration and I got to the point where I thought I had to finish all the functions and for the functional boxes I decided to bring in a little more gold and chose gold foil stickers with some of the faith phrases. sticker book full so I thought I need to bring gold foil another way and I will do it through the boxes and for that I will use the mega rainbow sticker book Mega colorful boxes mega whatever you know which one I'm talking about it has all the boxes and all the colors and all the foils and all the stuff, so I'm going to use that and combine it with these blue, blue and gold together.
Yes please, absolutely beautiful and very appropriate for On the occasion I also really liked that there were some of these checklists which I think are designed as a board layout because they are so short, but I just added these little speech bubbles in the bottom part and I think they turned out super cute. that was a really cool technique to use and something I'll repeat because I don't often use a board layout so I'm wondering what to do with those short checklists and combining them with a chart worked really well so Look how cute turns out that with the little golden checklist.
I love it, lots of boxes, lots of checklists like I said. I anticipate that you may have a few things to do that week, whether you know how to pick out an outfit for Aaron. know how to order lunch, prepare things, whatever it is, this is an opportunity to combine your to-do list and then reminders to refocus your heart on what the purpose of the week is, so we will add some more quotes inspiring right here and I love the softness of this spread, it looks like a baby boy to me, it feels really reflective, it means it gives you a chance to reflect and I've actually loved layering functional boxes on top of decorative boxes so that see how I will do it.
I put a functional box and then I put those gold boxes right on top of it and most of the time the quote is a little squished in the middle so there's kind of extra space and I like that look. I got into it, so I ran with it and this is where I had to move, but God is good because I needed that gold box right there, no big deal, a little more white, a little more white, never hurt nobody, so we'll do it. write it down and then I'll look for some opportunities to add more of those black quotes throughout the page just so we have that repeated element.
I love the amen. I love the praise of Jesus. I'm going to pull that one out and In fact, cut it out because there's a blank space stuck right here on Monday and we'll fill it with a little Praise Jesus moment, a little more white again, a little white, never hurt anyone. Okay, let's get Praise to Jesus. down and then I think I'm going to choose amen and that's going to happen on Thursday or Friday yes, right above this box that works very well wider please and thank you and down that will be it for the spread of Grizzell Griselle I hope you enjoy it all prayers for Sweet Baby Erin I hope it is a wonderful event.
The following is Denise's report. Denise chose to do a Tim the Blacksmith themed feature, Taylor, bought tickets for her husband and herself to go see Tim Allen and You have to let me know in the comments below if you saw Tim the Tool Man, Improvements for the home, that's what it was called. I definitely did. I saw it all the time. I loved it. I thought it was the funniest show with the cutest teenager. guys when I was a teenager, so yeah, it was definitely a show that I liked, so I'm going to do that and I actually chose a few different colors for its extension than I would normally choose. red, orange and yellow, and you are you, that's not very cool like it's not in my comfort zone, but I love it in your planner when you can commemorate these

special

events like Baby Erin's dedication like her love of cats .
I love when your planner reflects you and the fun things that are happening, sometimes we get so focused on using the sticker books we get from the happy plane or we make a mistake, or we just use those sticker books and don't think about theming them in A different way just take the stickers, place them on the page, how can we add our own little twists? I just used my Cricut to cut out these fun tool stickers and this will be a cool keepsake page that can also be a very functional and useful page in her planner but also commemorates something fun that she and her husband can do that helps you during the week when you do something special like this.
It helps you reflect on that gratitude throughout the week. I hope it makes sense, so if you have something fun, something that you're looking forward to a lot, there's a lot of work before that event, so having something that you're looking at every day that reminds you of why you're there. If you're busy, I think that's something really special, so using your planner as an opportunity to capture these special

moments

and special memories is something I try to focus on from time to time. Yes, you can do it in your memory planner, but you can also. do it just in your regular daily functional planner, have a fun theme like this that comes out of nowhere, quote unquote, out of the sticker book, i.e. not in a typical sticker book that you would normally choose and and really make it your own because of right, how many tool-based spread planners have you seen?
I've seen very few, but I think this is a really fun way to capture that whole week so you can see that I've actually been taking advantage of Mojo JoJo's oversized rainbow boxes, so you have a whole sticker book of the size of a large planner and I'm using those stickers and then I just arrange them. I got the tool stickers from qriket design space. I have design access, which means I pay an annual fee to have access to a bunch of different images and things that I can use, so I just use them to print these stickers and I'll have similar tools throughout the page. boxes all over the page um red, orange and yellow, we're like we're trying, we're adopting all the tools and then I put it together here in a second with the color black and you'll see how that starts to come together making sure that each day has boxes, everyday is functional and I liked this little header that I had, it was similar to the one on the jack that I used for Debbie, but this time there are tools and what I'm going to do.
It was a little long, so I'm going to trim it down and this is a great place for Denise to put the month, so I left her spread undated. I know they have the specific date they're heading to see Tim Allen, but you can put the month up here. I'm going to save the decal and use it in a second um and I'm just going to crop this one down, but I like how it's going to frame where it can go. the week, so we're going to put this one right here, this is a sticky sticky paper and then we'll move this and then that's perfect for writing the month, um and then you can add the dates to the top of the sheet once I added that. big black piece.
I knew I needed a little more black. I'm going to add a little more yellow, looking over here, but it needs a little more black, so I'll balance it out with the pieces I cut out. add them around this yellow box to give it a little bit of black on that side of the spread and then again we'll go back to the Mojo JoJo black boxes, maybe the best sticker book of all time because you can use it so many times and I. I'm going to use some of the scratched pictures of him again. Let's add this long box.
I love a long sidebar. I'm the only one? What do you put on your sidebars? I love long paintings because I like to run and get things done. list, so that's my favorite, you can leave the gratitude there, you can do all kinds of things, but right now I feel like there needs to be some more black, so I'm going to add a couple of black boxes here and there, just a few more little ones. and then I end up deciding that I want to add a little more lines, so I'm going to use my happy planner template to add some black lines again.
We're making sure it's functional but it's also a great place to write down all the memories you can write to Denise, you could fill in Tim Allen quotes in some of the lines I added, it's like it's totally up to you if you're going to use this as a souvenir, so that might be something It's also fun to do, so again we're going to plot this out using a happy planner template and add some lines here and there, once I have all the lines in place, I'm trying to use all those different ones. tool stickers so you can see them pop up and I was almost done with the whole spread when I noticed there was a quote at the bottom of that page and the quote no, I can't read it from here, but it had nothing to do with Tim, the Taylor tool man, that's for sure, so I decided we needed to add something extra.
You can see I'm trying to figure out that I want to use all of these stickers. I want them everywhere. place because I think they're adorable and I want them to be like crazy tools all the time. I have one more and no, not this one, I cut this one and then we'll add the ending I'm trying. to find where I can put the other part, rotate, it will go there and then I will be left with a sticker, it will appear in a moment, but I had noticed the quote and I didn't want that quote. there because it doesn't really go so I actually went to my Tim Holtz stickers these are like the sarcastic edit um and this one was just perfect it says in my defense that they left me unsupervised which seems absolutely perfect for Tim Allen and then I chose A couple more quotes about never acting your age again seemed very appropriate for Tim the Tool Man, Taylor and also for Tim Allen, and then I think another quote about being dumb as you grow up, so I thought they were funny quotes and I like nice ones. of sarcasm because if you're going to go see a comedian there's definitely going to be some sarcasm, so use those and then add a few more words on the page and this spread will be done.
I hope Denise you are great. Enjoy this spread. I hope you and your husband have a great time. Hanging out and going to see the comedian, let me know in the comments below which spread you liked best. Did you like Debbie's cat themed spread? Did you like the baby Grizzell spread? Aaron's dedication or this Tim the Tool Man that Taylor spread, let me know in the comments below, all the things I used are linked in the description box so you can always click on it and find all the supplies , some of which are affiliate links, no.
