My first two games, obviously, it's an adjustment and I'm still adjusting well, but you know, it was really good to be able to get my feet under me, meet all the guys, meet the whole coaching staff and, you know, go out and You know they've shown a lot of confidence in me and you know it was huge. It was a little bump on the head, I thought, and, you know, my visor I think went down and you know, I hit my nose a little bit, but you know, a couple of stitches and I'm good to go. there and um it was good, yeah, it wasn't like playing with Niels oh, he's amazing, oh, he's so fun, man, he's so much fun to be around the ice on the ice, uh, he's got so much energy, um, you know, it's probably one of the fastest, probably the fastest player I've ever played with. He's very handy and you know my job is to get him a pocket and some space.

You know he usually makes the right play. He sees that experience in the NHL. I mean, we can face each other. the way he plays, the energy he brings, the sequencing applied, I mean, how much you see in him what you need to be to be, you know, I see it every day, his uh, his work ethic, his mentality, um, you know, obviously, he wants to be up there and um, you know, I see him in, you know how hard he works for pucks, uh, you know, hitting someone and then grabbing the puck, his work ethic shows all over the place, um, in the locker room, on the ice, everywhere, you know, he's definitely a model.

I could take care of him and admire him and you know he's a lot of fun to play with. What's with that line you're playing with him tonight? Why were they shooting until I also understood how to get such a good dominant love? I think we had a couple of really good games when we started the Calgary series and you know, maybe missed some opportunities, but I thought we were making a lot of offenses on time, starting to get some opportunities and then, you know, tonight they end up getting in and hopefully that will continue, but you know, it's probably going to be a different line every night if we're going to go far, so waiting for that playoff bye week is so big. one key thing, you know they're waiting for you guys, you know this is a really tough rivalry between those two teams.
How important is it to finish this series on Friday? Yeah, I don't think we're thinking about them yet. um, you know we have a big game on Friday night, um, Bakersfield is going to come out extremely tough, um, I mean, they don't want the season to end, um, you know, it's probably going to take a better effort tonight to put an end to it. them and then, obviously. uh we'll look forward to it after what the atmosphere was in the room after that first period um you know it was, uh, it was good, it was still loose, uh, you know, I think we've been like that for the last couple weeks here since I got here, you know, talking about the playoffs and the ebbs and flows of the game and, you know, the mood was relaxed, you know, we got our toes wet there and it's time to dive in. and I think on the second one, you know, we started to take it a little bit, Max, you might have gotten your nose wet too, so you get hit on that breakout where your lowest loan available is that your second turn of the game oh yeah , I think it was my uh, it was my second shift, you know, I just jumped in there and um, yeah, I mean, welcome to the HL, welcome to the hockey playoffs, um, yeah, and then you know the documents are cool, they got me. right out there, uh, I feel good, what did that involve you?
You got some points there, yeah, yeah, it was involved, uh, you know, I never really had points, um, so yeah, they just numbed it and, uh, they got three, four points there. and uh I kind of tried to get the blood out but I think it's still a little bit but uh yeah so obviously you know the protocol to make sure my head was okay, which it is and I feel good and uh you. You know, maybe it woke me up a little bit and I started, I went back out, I felt good, so how much of the first one, like when, when did you come back, oh, I think I missed it, there was probably 16 minutes left when they hit me, um, I think I came back with five sixes so you get three turns on the first one maybe four yeah after you know you hurt your nose they take some stitches and you get two yeah can you take anything from a pretty first night interesting? playoff hockey uh, it was fun, uh, you know, obviously, I didn't like it, uh, you know, my nose is all banged up, but it'll probably hurt a little bit later, but you know, I'm just trying to do what I can.
I said help the team win if it's about scoring goals, which you know, tonight they ended up going in and big plays from Hogs and Rousey and, yeah, it was a fun night and we'll probably put it behind us tomorrow and focus on Friday night, how much of the net did you see in your second after those two passes? I saw a lot of, yeah, exactly Rousey, uh, you know, that's what he does, he makes plays all over the ice and especially in the offensive zone and when he understood that and I opened up. I had no doubt that he was going to meet me there and my job was, you know, to pick him up and put him in the probably went to the middle of the net, I'm not sure, but then we can celebrate and you know we took a two-to-one lead. nothing and you know, we tried to block it from there after practice. um Ryan Johnson had a meeting you guys had a team meeting and he's some of the guys said that when I talked to you when he talked to you the words really resonated with the guys about being an April hockey player versus a player June hockey.
Share that conversation with us and how much the guys took it in, yeah, I mean, yeah, RJ, I mean, he came. and you know everyone was all eyes and ears, you know we all have a lot of respect for him and you know everything he said about having fun and you don't know how many chances you'll get in this. uh, you know, it really resonated and I mean, I think, uh, Rathbone Bonese, he said, uh, you know, I wish we could play right now, um, so yeah, that message was amazing. I've never been part of a meeting like that and you know the guys.
Everybody looked around and said, let's go, uh, it just made it, you know, real and we, you know, we were definitely ready to go and that speech, that speech, it certainly helped us, well, what do you do before Friday ? Make sure there's no swelling, I'll have to talk to Trevin Rome and about that, I'm not sure if I put some ice on it, there's a time when the numbness goes away, it'll probably hurt a little bit, but that's it. right, um, yeah, uh, yeah, probably yeah, peel it off, I mean, we'll do the best we can, hopefully, you know, to, uh, it still stops bleeding here at some point, put some ice on it and, You know, try not to think about it too much. and think about the game
