Streetdrift-style "sanpatsu" competition at Nikko Circuit

Mar 09, 2024
We're here today at Nikko Circut for something a little different. It's called "Ooi ichi ura

sanpatsu

ketteisen." I need to go somewhere a little quieter to explain. Ooi is a place, ichi means "number one", Sanpatsu means "three moves", and ketteisen means "decisive battle". In Tokyo Bay, there is a famous drifting street spot called "Ooi Futo" or "Ooi Port". Now this is all. Ooi is approximately halfway between Tokyo and Yokohama, in Tokyo Bay. And as you can see, there are big, wide streets designed for trucks. Since the streets are so wide here in Ooi, the main thing you can do here is what is called Sanpatsu, which means "three move." So you go down here, cut left, right, left again and then towards there.

The main corner used to be that one over there, but several years ago, barriers were installed there to keep people from straying. You can see there are a lot of tire brands here. Anyway, I'm really cold, so let's go back to Nikko. Now, besides Ooi, there are three famous places to do Sanpatsu in one

circuit

. The first is the Ebisu Circuit Higashi

circuit

on the front straight. The second one is at Tsukuba Circut on the frontstretch And the third one is here at Nikko Circut on the backstretch It's a bit similar to Ooi You come out of a long sweeper on the backstretch and then link it with a three move into this corner?

And? What I've done is invite some OG street bums from all over Tokyo to have a little

competition

here today to see who is the king of

sanpatsu

. Our first car in the pits, and it's the King of Ooi Futo himself, Okajima from Team FOOL Well, Team FOOL is well known driving in Ooi Futo, but it's legit these days. You have the FOOL team here. Look, it's a tram. It has plates hidden under this protector. It says "Banchō", which is like "Boss". I'm at the judging point here at the end of the backstretch Here are our judges: Kinaki and Ueno and apparently he's hungover Kinaki: Hangover?

Hangover He's hungover Kinaki: I know, I know You know Ok, today's English lesson: "I'm hungover" Okay, he's not driving, so it's okay Anyway, those are our two judges for the event from today. Both are also quite noticeable. for sanpatsu, not on this track Kinaki: His name is "Hungover" Mr. Hungover Alright, someone was missing a little oil, but they fixed it and we are going to have the demo class and the first driver will be Team FOOL, Okajima When the

competition

is over, I think it's time for lunch. That was good. A bit of an abrupt ending, but that's all for today.
