JP Peterson Show 09.23.22: Bucs-Packers Preview & Rays Snap Losing Streak

Apr 03, 2024
You see why he's had the success that he's had, he's very detail-oriented, he came in and actually had two good days of practice, obviously, I mean it's the first two days, but he looked good the first two days, so we're just trying to get him up to speed with just the system, the wording, everything where he's going to need to be if he needs to be, so we're just trying to get everyone ready. and he went on to say, um, you know, it's not like he doesn't have to learn the whole playbook, um, so I'll be interested to see what his role is going to be in this game.
jp peterson show 09 23 22 bucs packers preview rays snap losing streak
There's been some pushback on Twitter about the Cole Beasley signing, none of that, no, I think we're over it, okay because of society, well let's move on, then okay, let's get to Tom Brady. I thought Brady was good yesterday. I really thought he was very, very glib? He actually answered some of the questions. It was cliché once or twice, but for the most part it was pretty good, so let's dig into Tom Brady's press conference from yesterday and uh. I'll stop it and do some analysis as we go Hey guys, good afternoon, how are you doing, it's good, you've already met Aaron Rodgers on and off the field.

More Interesting Facts About,

jp peterson show 09 23 22 bucs packers preview rays snap losing streak...

I guess against him not many times, yeah, just for you guys, although We're not going to go against the other quarterback or prepare for Green Bay's defense. Is there still something about naming one of the best in the game? Yeah, he's an amazing player for sure, he's been for a long time, so I love watching him play. you know he's from California too so I feel like we always have a little bit of a connection. He now he's an older guy. He's been a big player at the same spot for a long time, so there are definitely some challenges with that.
jp peterson show 09 23 22 bucs packers preview rays snap losing streak
But is he. He led it pretty well and he's done a great job leading the team and you know they've won a lot of games since he's been there, you know and I knew Brett pretty well, you know those two guys are two great quarterbacks over a long period. of time in one place I don't know, it's up to him, yeah, pause down there, um, not a word about him beating you at golf, no, there's no payback that he's trying to get revenge here, none of that in The past, it's in the past, oh, not for the brain, it's in the past, not for Brady, you might get that analysis, come on Monday, yeah, we could wait, but no, you know, I guarantee you that, sticking in the back of your brain, probably even Say something after the game, if you beat it, I'll tell you what's crazy, even though you've got me at golf, but I'll take you where it's going.
jp peterson show 09 23 22 bucs packers preview rays snap losing streak
I tell you what's crazy, and that's every time I see these two face off, did you know literally for about a 10-year period when he was on the Patriots and Roger was obviously still on the Packers. I feel like every season I went in and made my predictions, I predicted the Packers and the Patriots for a decade straight because I always wanted to see those two guys. Super Bowl head-to-head, I think it has to happen, yeah, like it had to happen, it never happened and we were so close so many times because damn Rogers couldn't win any championship game, that will be the uh, I think uh. uh probably his legacy, but I mean, here we are, even though we already are, is that he's not going to win the Super Bowl this year, not with this, here we are, even though now these guys get to play with each other seemingly every year. , it's a third confrontation, I think.
Since Brady got so good here, you know, in that one, Raymond James Stadium, 38 to 10. where the defense of this Bowl just ate him alive, uh, what was it from 16 to 30, something like a couple of national teams and he and I remember that game? His body language was so defeated like in the three three series it was like I was being hit and that offensive line was much better than the one he will have on Sunday. Now I noticed Bhaktiari was limited in practice, but no one is saying he'll play, so his offensive line guys aren't good and as you know the Bucks Rush won't let him go out and do the things he normally does. because They're so fast that they can track him, so he has problems and the Bucks lead the league in sacks so far for two weeks and by the way, five of them come from the linebacker, five or six from comfort at linebacker. and he's going to get a lot of that and the defensive back attacks were something that gave him trouble, that's why everyone's talking about AJ Dylan and Aaron Jones are going to be big parts of this, but guess what Tom Todd Bulls you know Todd Bowles knows that so it's a good thing they were talking about this game getting up this morning and I was surprised how you know they didn't take the bait with the Brady vs.
Rogers shootout no it won't be a shootout we were like oh he. over under in this game is 41. yeah 41 yeah no one expects a shootout in Vegas that's for sure let's stick with Tom you've talked about the catcher situation and guys coming and going yeah you think it'll be better Sunday or something like that. You're just going to have to, I think, you know, part of the job is dealing with, you know, different people participating and, you know, it's part of the demolition derby, that game that we play. You know, guys are in and out and you have to adapt within the game in certain weeks, you know, you start a certain way and it doesn't end the way it started, guys get hurt, you know, look at the Dallas game, you know , Mike came out, Chris came out and um Julio came out um Donnie came out, you know you're finishing the game in a totally different place than you know you would have started, you put together the game plan, think about all those guys there and play the strengths, but you have to just throughout the game, so you know sometimes when you know guys aren't going to be available during the week you know you can plan for it, other times you have to adjust in the game to let each team deal with it. .
You know we lost Mike. We know that in the third quarter, the fourth quarter, the last quarter, they lost his corner. You know a lot of things change so you know he has to try to win the game, however you can win it and luckily our defense is playing great football and we. We'll do the best we can on offense, so what do you like about your new teammate, Cole Beasley? Did you know he was beating you up trying to get on the team? You know, I've watched him for a long time too and you know he's been around a long time and you know how to watch him play, compete against him, have you been on the other team?
I think in Dallas once, in Buffalo several times, he's a great player. Really, you know, I think he's a great player. Today I like what we saw on your arm and I know you talked about your finger. Is that just annoying? How do you feel about that right now? Great, it's football season, so every time he threw a pass. yesterday he was shaking his hand on his ring finger look uh Brady every time so that's one thing but he's going to get shot and he's going to be numb but it's going to affect your accuracy it has to affect your accuracy he's played with it before I understand it but I don't know what's going on with the finger, but he says you can't throw a soccer ball every time you let go, if there's something in your hand, it hurts like hell.
They do that there, if you have a small fracture, anything small, because you're whipping your hand and you're and you're, you're pronating your wrist and you're moving your wrist that way and it's only if you've ever had something on your finger and you you said like that all the time how much that would hurt that's every time you throw the ball you know you have to get over that mentally because you have to let it break, right? You can't, no, no, you can't try, oh, it's not going to hurt on this one, you have to let it rip, but that's a problem and there's no doubt about it, we have to see it during the game.
Well, yeah, what about protection? It sounds like you've been getting pretty good protection even though you guys who know came in and started. Yes, I have been receiving great protection. The guys up front have been competing very hard. I think that's part of why we run the ball so well. We have been able to run it many times. Those guys up front have done a great job of coming together, taking the training and putting everything they can into what they can. we're doing and it's really allowed us to do some good things on offense, but you know it always starts with the offensive line, what those guys can do, how they can control the line of scrimmage and you know it's a big challenge for you, ya You know, last week's front is a great front, this week is a very different front, but you know the big pass rusher is one of the best inside players you'll face all year.
Kenny Clark, but Preston Smith and Rashawn Garrett are great pass rushers, so again it's another big challenge, but you know we have to face it every week, it's something different, you know, it's an NFL, it's tough, you know, every week you go against the best from someone and yes, you just have to try to find a way to achieve it. Beyond that and after a performance where you have to accept. Okay, that wasn't my personal best, but it was the best I could do this day or this was the best we could do on this day.
Yes, you could know. I can always do better, obviously I can always do better as a quarterback and, um, yeah, don't let my emotions get the better of me, sometimes they do, you know, it's an emotional sport, it's an emotional game, um, and We are all out there trying to do our best. the best we could do and you're right, I think there's a frustrating part, I think for all of us, when you grow up a little bit and you expect it a certain way and it doesn't turn out exactly the way you want, but that's it.
That's just the way it is and, you know, I have to do a good job as a leader to be at my best, you know, regardless of how I feel about a certain situation, it makes you come back here every day, pursuing that profession. , Yes always. I mean, there's a part of this for all of us where you just know that you want it to be the best that you can be, not just for yourself but for everyone around you, for the entire team, everyone is counting on you to be a great player and you know we have to reach a higher level offensively, that is part of our responsibility.
I think the fans have been spoiled the last few years, so I've seen them score 30-plus points, you know, every week. You just look at the situation now as it develops and it doesn't really matter what you do at the beginning, but here at the end, yeah, I think we're going to know that we're obviously scoring points, it's a challenge for every team. you know, you know, to score points you have to do things consistently well on the field, you know you have to be on the same page of communication and ultimately the game is about making plays and you know the matchups that you have, you know that you have to win your matchup you know you're not going to score points if you turn the ball over, we did it to start the same game, we did it on the second drive, we stopped on fourth and one, so you can't score points if you lose the ball and you can't score points if you miss a fourth and one, so the only way to score is to do things you know better and more consistently over the course of the drive to the red area and then ultimately place the ball in the end zone, so by settling for field goals you are not going to score many points, you have to be good in the red area, but to be good in the red area you have to be good at third. down to be good on third down you have to be good on first and second down to be good on first second down you need to play well with your special teams and you know how to get good field position and then you need good defensive football, so it's a complementary game and I think as we go through the season, obviously the goal is to score as many points as we can and, you know, we know we're going to have to do a better job. that what we've done and you know we're going to work hard to get there in Dallas County uh adopted the TV 12 method what kind of impact do you think is very interesting answer here you know, I think it's amazing, you know, I feel like Everything What I have learned over 23 years in football has allowed me and will allow me to continue helping people in different ways.
The things that I have learned have been of great benefit to me and I realized that there are systems that are broken and you would like to try to improve them in the best way possible by giving people the knowledge that has allowed me to be successful, so I think that a big part of my future life will be that too, you know that and I think that unfortunately In everything else, you make a lot of money with the old system and it's difficult because I think preventative care and preventive maintenance of your body is a challenge because it takes time and energy, but I think starting young is really important and educating people about what works. as opposed to how things have always been and I think the way things have always been will always result in basically the same results for people and I think what I try to do is challenge that norm by acting, you know, for a long time. time frame. but I've really done it in a way that I would say has been unique and that I've tried to, you know, allow my teammates to learn as well as you know, tens of thousands of other people that you know have been educated andadopted what you know, a different kind of belief system, Green Bay alone with Aaron.
Rodgers and having young receivers is bringing them. I'm curious to know your opinion. Do you think that's a fair expectation for quarterbacks now? I think all you know is that's a good question, you know what your responsibility is as a quarterback. I'm sure every quarterback's responsibilities are different, so I think as an older player, you know you have a responsibility that really comes down to and speaks to what is ultimately what the goal is to win the game and win. the game you have. to score points and this goes back to a lot of things we talked about, how points are scored with young receivers.
Don't know. A lot depends on the young receivers what they are capable of doing. Know? I've been in situations with a lot of young players and it's a challenge because you know they don't have the experience, but maybe they have a lot of other things, so we're all challenged, you know, I think it's just a reality of playing sports. and being in football, every team has challenges with different things and some guys have young receivers, let's say, but veteran secondaries. Some teams have veteran receivers and a young secondary or you can have a veteran secondary and young linebackers.
I mean, not many teams are. I'm going to have veterans at every position that are healthy all year, so you just have to try to continue to manage it the best way possible. If you're the quarterback, you know, try to figure out how to win the game because that's why we're all here. Tom, can you talk about how you're starting the conversation about what your Super Bowl sounds like? Yeah, a friend of mine asked me, you know, I visited Qatar a couple of times and I really enjoyed it and there's a great sports museum there. I wanted to allow a lot of the people who will be there to see football and the impact it has had on all of our lives and how great a sport it is and to see what we play for.
I thought it would be something really cool. I didn't know I was doing that. He also said uh, uh, you know, he wasn't worried about them being stolen or anything, but he's just missing those things like, yeah, yeah, here, no. I won't lose it, I won't lose them if I just don't have Super Bowl rings. I haven't been to Qatar. I really want to go, it's definitely a place I keep wondering about because I wonder what's so special about Qatar, but I hear everyone talking. obviously won a bid for the World Cup, well it's funny, I saw a photo from 1965 or something of Qatar, it has that iconic circular roundabout uh that they have with this with the statue on top and there's nothing. around but maybe a tall building and then it was 2022 and there's so much money there and opulent wealth and what they've built there I guess the tallest building in the world is there yeah the opulence is just off the charts I mean, there are yachts everywhere, it's everywhere, there are gold-plated bathrooms, it's just ridiculous, and the people you know, the rich love to go to Qatar and then Qatar has a lot, they bought the World Cup Literally, yes. fraudulently bought the World Cup and had to postpone it to November because some people wouldn't die in the heat there, so yeah, that's a story for now that we'll get into when we get to the World Cup, it's kind of a very interesting that I definitely want to visit, but I won't go during the World Cup, that's for sure the Chinese presidents will be there, no, but yes, of course, they are strict on alcohol, by the way, yes, it's strange.
The reason why the guitar in the World Cup is one of the most corrupt things in the history of sports. Yes, we'll delve into that story when we get there, but before we get to Trey Wallace, who will be joining us from Outkick. .com your SEC reporter we're going to talk about Gators Tennessee and all the things the SEC wanted to delve into the surge just a little bit last night ten to five uh big win um they got things going with Jonathan's home run and uh was it a good escape? You know, Franco and the rain rose are starting to hit now.
And Aranda. I think that would be a great piece of this puzzle. You have to have offense. You will have to sacrifice a little defense. when he's out there, but you have to have his bat in the lineup. I'm convinced of that right now, would you agree? Oh yeah, and you notice that in every lineup that comes out, he's either batting first or he's batting second, so clearly Kevin. Cash has that confidence in him. Where is Yandy Diaz? I don't know, but can you get a black guy out of a conversation? I don't think so, no, unless Randy you saw it, uh, I didn't see the whole game last time.
The night came and went, so I don't know if I saw it, but again I didn't see the whole thing. Oh, has anyone seen Yandy Díaz? Where is Yandy? Where is Yandy? I need to ask yokiandi. I know he keeps his faucets open. You, yeah, in the shootout with the rosarina there's clearly a rosarina out there, yeah, so it looks like um in the deathmatch, uh, we're, we're saying ding ding rosarina ding ding a rosa Arena. I would have bet on yoke Yandy, he could. You have an eye problem because you are in a conversation, what would happen if he threw the Mist in your eyes?
Old school professional wrestling. He throws the Mist, although I think the rosaritas beat him up. I think it was, oh, who would take rose sand in a fight? Although come on, Gandhi, those muscles are just fake, sometimes you see in the big guy Yoke, you know, and then there's the other guy who's just a tough guy. Fighting is much more about your mentality, not that I know I've been in what three four fights in my life and not very good ones, um, but I think I've seen enough to know that it's not always the best looking guy. , the biggest guy, the one who gets the uh, he's the baddest mofo and uh, I'll put my money up.
I don't know Yandi's background, but I know Rosa Reina's background and how he got there. He took three tries to get to this country and you know, on ships, you know, and on boats crossing the Straits of Florida, yeah, that guy's tough. he's young, he was in Cuba, right, I think he came from the same, yeah, I think they both did, as I remember, but I also know a story about Rose Arena, is that they're both tough, probably who knows who knows that just we are. They're just fighting here, yeah okay, we'll take a break when we get back, we'll chat with Trey Wallace from s for the outkick.com, there's an SEC reporter, we'll talk about Gators Tennessee, all things SEC, what the hell is happening?
In Alabama, Georgia is completely unbeatable right now. I'm saying yes, but we'll talk to expert Trey Wallace when we get back. He stay with us. Let me tell you about the state-of-the-art Bay Area Medical Center. Is he experiencing fatigue from low sex drive?

I'm fine, I'm fine, getting ready for a wild 24 to 48 hours here in Knoxville, all depending on the outcome of the game, but, man, it's starting to feel like Woodstock 99 here in the movie, yeah, set the stage for us, if you could, for those who haven't experienced Kneeland Stadium in the 105,000 I'll be there and in a series where Tennessee has really been on the short side for the last 17 years

losing

16 of 17 but now they have a football team that is 10-point favorite over the Gators and I guess it's the Fans are very excited to have the balls to rub this if they can get a win.
Yeah, it's just a town that Bob is into what Josh Eiffel is doing here in Tennessee and for the first time in a long time. Tennessee is a double-digit favorite in this game and look, the city has bought into what they are doing as a whole in Athletic Administration. I mean, tomorrow. You know, yesterday I was talking to someone from Tennessee. I mean, they're waiting anywhere. Between 150 and 175,000 people on campus tomorrow. The stadium only has a capacity for one hundred thousand. So it's going to be pretty wild. It's something that, look, you're soaking yourself in. If you're a college football fan, there'll be a watch party a block from the stadium, you've got college game day in town, you've got, you know, Fox in town, you've got Barstool in town, I mean, it's your CBS, I mean, is one of those. stuff you know, I have an article coming out here in just a minute, a Tennessee fan told me this last night and I was walking around campus, it's a powder keg ready to explode and I couldn't agree with them. rather, I think the Tennessee gang is ready for something like this um, now look, we've seen in this rivalry, we've seen the worst Florida teams beat Tennessee teams like this, we've seen, you know, in 2016, a Tennessee team came back, I think it was 21-3 uh and when that happened um but it's just that Tennessee feels like it has a lot of momentum right now, especially within the fan base and especially with this football program, so you know, one of those crazy atmospheres is building. which we all love about college football and I hope to be someone a part of that tomorrow and the government yeah it's going to be a wild scene up there and um let's take a look at the quarterbacks in this game where they couldn't be.
There are more different situations now, a Hendon hooker, which is one of the best names in uh, almost as good as the Fair hooker back in the day, you're probably old enough to remember that. um uh, the Hendon hooker hasn't been eliminated in 189 passes in a row, she's got Josh Heipel up there. Temple's offense is underway. We saw what USF was able to do against the Gators defense last week in the swamp and I mean run the ball with ease. They have to be licking their chops right now. The Gator and Anthony Richardson defense has more tackles than touchdown passes, which is never a good thing if you're a quarterback, so it seems like two quarterbacks are headed in different directions, your thoughts, um, yeah, I mean , I agree with you, I think I know that came from Hinden Hooker 42 touchdown passes in Tennessee Three interceptions.
The guy knows how to take care of football. Now look, they could go down tomorrow at wide receiver and Cedric Tillman, but the good thing about this is Tennessee. The outlook is that they have depth at that point and I think that will be the key, you know, the hidden hooker is just deadly when he comes out of the pocket with his legs or can make a play out of the pocket by throwing the ball 20 yards. down the field, he's accurate, he knows how to read the defense, if Ventra Miller Florida linebacker tries to try tomorrow and plays and according to reports from Gainesville, he's practiced a little the last two days and they're treating this game like it's huge andthey should do it if he knows, we'll see how it plays out.
I know Tennessee will probably try to expose him a little bit if he's a little banged up, but you know Tennessee's running game. Their usual starter, Jabari Smalls, is a little banged up, so I'm looking for the backup to work on the starter tomorrow and Jaylen Wright, um, but then you know you turned that on the other side of Florida's offense, um, after that game of Utah, you know a lot of people were, I mean, including, like, Whoa, Anthony Richardson, okay, this is interesting, um, but then you know he. He ran the ball 11 times against Utah, but then at Kentucky and against Florida he rested 14 times in total, so Florida has escaped in all three games what makes that offense special, which is letting Anthony Richardson loose and I just feel like if they're going to come here and they're going to play Tennessee Toe to Toe and play four quarters, Billy Napier has to make the decision, okay, look, we understand that our backup quarterback situation is not so maybe. .
It seems that at this moment Jack Miller is still struggling to recover from his injuries. They can't take any risks. They just have to go. They just have to go away and let Anthony Richardson be the player out of his pocket. running the ball 10 15 20 yards down the field opening up on defense because that's how they beat Tennessee, they beat Tennessee by bringing them in thinking that Anthony is going to try to run, get out of the pocket, make a play down the field with his arm, um. I feel like two quarterbacks going in two different directions, but if Billy Napier says Anthony Richardson, hey buddy, go get him, then it might make things interesting tomorrow.
I love Tennessee in this game, although I think there is too much frustration after

losing

. 16 to 17. I think the Gators are looking a little bit right now and I think the game, you know, they should have lost to USF at home, if you watch that game, that must put a lot of doubts in their heads, I don't think, no I think this is a very confident Gator football team so I'm looking for a big win in Tennessee, of course you've seen more of the series than me and probably had this confidence. In other games and I've seen him go in another direction, but we'll see what happens in this game, but I like Tennessee, who do you think Tennessee covers the clock?
I think at the end of the day I think Tennessee covers the tent. Um, I think right now they're built on offense to be able to score quickly, yeah, and until Florida comes out and shows tomorrow that they can stop that, it's hard for me to get away from those 10 points, it really is. I agree. um, now look, anything can happen in this series again, we've seen crazy results and I would be surprised if Florida goes out and wins tomorrow, absolutely not, it's just the way this series is, take away both teams, you know, take the strip off the coaches. away and all the points and you just look at this game and say, yeah, okay, that doesn't surprise me, this has happened in the past, nothing new, but man, I just Tennessee has so much talent on offense than I think. that Florida is right. now, the way they run their school, I think that's where Tennessee can separate themselves from this in the fourth quarter and I sure wanted to switch gears to the SEC as a whole because it's always the most interesting conference, right?
We'll start here with a situation that almost seems like a dumpster fire situation in Texas A M. I know they got back on track last week against Miami, but is this a team that you still think is capable of competing with Alabama How did they beat it last year? stuff like that or the offense is changing too much right now for them to really get on a roll. I feel like Texas A M is struggling to find an identity, you know, whether it's Max Johnson or the quarterback or the Hayes Kenya quarterback. I don't know what I'm seeing when I see you know Texas A M uh plays football look I understand their defense is solid but you're going up against the team that you know in Arkansas with KJ Jefferson and Raheem Sanders at running back you know it's almost like if Texas A M had to do a point-to-point TouchDown for a touchdown with Arkansas and I just don't know how that plays out and it's weird that you know I'm having a It's hard to find what Texas A M is in terms of identity on offense and I think it's because you know, look, they can run the ball, but I don't trust the quarterbacks right now and when you have that kind of problem and we're sitting here in this place and you know, the performances that we saw against Miami and then we went back to that App State game.
I just think they are fighting, but I say it to say this, I mean, if X's a m comes out. tomorrow and they'll be able to run the football game with a solid defense, then you know, maybe they'll get their season back with a win against Arkansas, but I feel like KJ Jefferson and Ibrahim say there's going to be too much on offense for the Razorbacks. and that's why I think they'll win by you know, 10 to 10 to 13 points tomorrow in Arlington. He's just a jumbo Fisher has a bit of a problem right now, he has to figure out what that looks like with his quarterbacks Trey Wallace joining us from outkick.com anyone is going to beat Georgia this year because I don't see it, they are amazing, They select 15 players and they could be better, how does that work?
I guess we'll have a number one recruiting class every year for five years. years in a row doesn't hurt, I just want to say, look, I think they're going to be tested, you know, early on, like Kentucky and Tennessee, but I think in the end, man, they're too good on offense, that was made up. It feels like a Stone Cold Assassin, um, now you have a running game. I really like what they're doing with Kendall Milton, um, you look at Brock Bowers, one of the scariest tight ends in the country, um, the guy can be a receiver, I mean. it's just that it's fantastic, and then you look at that defense and say, oh man, they lost all those players from the team last year, they're not going to be any good and now they just go out and go crazy with the Boston Wall.
Defensive chasing the quarterback, so I feel like it's going to be hard for anyone to beat Georgia, if anything, maybe that will come in an SEC championship game, but look, Bennett has a bad game, maybe someone catch it or at least keep it. We meet with him and see how that plays out, so I'm intrigued. I think everyone is obviously going to assume that Alabama was their main threat and you know, we all saw what happened in the Texas game where they came out, but Clint The new guys play the whole game. I'm pretty sure Texas will probably get their way in that game and I'm looking at Alabama.
I haven't seen anyone in that group of receivers stand out yet. I don't see them running the ball like they do. They did it in previous years even though they brought in Jamir Gibbs, do you think they are almost more vulnerable this year than in previous years? Yeah, I think so because of the offensive line right now. I think he's having problems. I think also when you look. In um, you know, you pay attention to the wide receivers and you know, like a transfer like Jermaine Burton from Georgia. I just think they're not in sync yet, totally with Bryce Young, next week, uh, will be a test. uh they're going to Fayetteville uh to play KJ Jefferson and they say that's going to be a test for Alabama um just because there's so many different things that Arkansas can do uh with football and I'm interested to see how bright and strong and then respond to the offense um, I think the defense is fine.
I believe it. I think Texas is going to call Kamalgar with a couple of things and that's probably what Nick Saban wanted to be honest with you. Okay, we come out here with a clean victory. one, but okay, now I can go up to my defense and say, hey, look, this is what happens when you don't get after the quarterback or take things seriously in a sense, so I know Alabama is one one of those rigs where you just reload and reload but I'm seeing a few more issues this year than in the past hey Trey last question for you before we get out of here as I'm probably using my FSU rig here today SS FSU se leads the SEC in the next.
For a couple of years, I guess so, come on, I think so. I think at the end of the day I coach a few more teams and I know Florida State is on that list that they would like to see get into the conference, you know, probably along with a school like Virginia Tech um and maybe one of them from the Carolinas , so we'll find out. I think I think the expansion is going to happen later. um I think with the media rights deal and all that it's going to take some time. Figure our way out of certain things, but it wouldn't be surprising if we didn't, in five years, six years, Florida State will be playing in the Southeastern Conference.
I agree with that, Trey Wallace of outkick.com covers that the SEC will be in the middle of that melee tomorrow in Knox Knoxville um, I would say enjoy, but uh, if you love, if you love big crowds and football SEC, this is what happened to you, and I think most of us do, so have fun, Trey. Thanks friend, it's going to be a fun day at work, thanks everyone for having me. I really appreciate it thank you yeah look into the tailgate parties they do a lot of research there um yeah I enjoy talking to Trey you know he knows what he's doing.
I think I think Tennessee opens up a can of screams against the Gators, all bottled up, um and I think Billy Napier is looking right now and I think you know the Utah game may have been a little bit of an aberration and it was a great start for the Gators, but I don't know, I expected them to really struggle in the big games this year against the best opponents and nothing I've seen, you know, and I think USA Utah was a big win and it's a It's a big pen in Billy Napier's hat to open that way, but this is the difference, it's about what you do against SEC competition because I mean, what's the knock on the Pac-12, maybe they're a little softer over there?
They don't play that many great teams and I'm not saying Utah isn't a great team because they have proven that they are. I get it, but you saw how they were against Kentucky, they weren't prepared, they weren't prepared to win that game and play that game. at home it was a very disappointing performance. I think Tennessee, honestly, is a better team than Kentucky. I think I think Hinden Hooker despite what Levis' future will be in the NFL, yeah. I think Hinden Hooker is a better college quarterback. I think Josh's people are a better offensive head. coach that anyone on the Kentucky bench, I agree they can put up points, this game is in Tennessee, that's a big deal, over 100,000, like Trey said, it's going to be Mayhem, so I think Tennessee has all the advantages in this game and I'm scared right now for Anthony Richardson and the Gators, unless like Trey, they said they just let him be him, well, Florida has to run the football.
You know, yesterday we talked to Scott Carter about the Jeeves the Law Group Florida Gator report that they obtained. run the football, they have to shorten the possessions in this game, limit the possessions in this game, get something you know, make some good long throws, kick field goals if you have to keep your defense off the field and if Tennessee score quickly, okay. Move it around a little bit more, keep it close and try to win it late, um, if they try to throw it around the yard there with Anthony Richardson in that environment where you know it's going to be loud, communication is going to be difficult.
You're going to have some penalties leading up to the steps that are likely to happen. It can snowball on you. It can snowball on you very very quickly. So you know, this is a gut test for the Gators. It's a big moment for the Gators, it's Billy Napier's first SEC Road game in an atmosphere like no other, yes it can't be beat and the crazy thing about this is we are so down on the Gators right now and this is still a team two-in-one football. and you happen to get this win, you just went through the challenge of Utah Kentucky USF and Tennessee and you have three and one, that would be huge, imagine that and you still come here and say you know, well, they haven't.
He played his best football, we'll see what happens tonight, yeah, but I think it would be crazy for you in Florida if they can get this win and be three and one, you can kind of silence it a little bit. a little bit and then the schedule relaxes a little bit yeah, let's get to some of our comments here before we go to break, especially those uh uh vis-a-vis Florida Florida has uh this from uh from Jeremy Lowe Florida has two good potentials backs that can run the ball exactly um ATN is a stud uh says Joe F UF backs look great Napier is still figuring out this team and what to do with AR I really need to let him be AR and AR's fifth real start absolutely has to let him no one has given up on Anthony Richardson um, but and I think you know Napier has a, you know he's got to simplify things for him right now, I think his head is spinning a little bit in the passing game um, he's got a great arm. , but Not the most accurate guy, just make it easy, you know, a lot of throws, hacks, um, you know, easy, easy, reading the middle of the field, that's how you get good young quarterbacksin their fifth start they accelerate and have some success and then he, you know, then. he starts running the ball, you spread them out a little bit and that guy is almost impossible to tackle in the open field, you have to let him play to his strengths, taking seven steps back is not his strength and someone makes a play.
I've ignored that that receiving group is young, they're inexperienced, they're missing a big playmaker or whatever the guys can do, they have the talent to do it, but none of those guys have done it for the most part. , like wait, earn more, we need someone like him, Pearsall Townsend, someone please stand up, someone step up and be that guy. I think that's what Florida is really missing, we're putting a lot on the quarterback here, we always have this passing game, but you. I know receivers are just as important a part of the passing game. I mean, let's be honest.
You have to be open. You have to catch the ball. You have to run disciplined routes. You have to do it when you have a disputed reception. You have to accept it, so yes, that's not just AR, it's the entire passing game. The offensive line has been doing a good job, but they have to get some receivers to step up and make plays, no doubt about it, eh, Joe F says too. um if we can get that up AR is free to help his passing confidence trying to force him to sit in the pocket just hurts him yeah absolutely take him out Jeremy Lowe says option says absolutely take him out on the edge where he's at his best, seven steps back, you can contain him in the pocket, that's too easy for defenses.
I mean, if I'm a defensive end or a coordinator and I see him, you know, running to the edge. I just want to say, uh, and feel wherever he moves, get him moving and let him play quarterback that way, so we'll see what Napier does that way. I think we'll see a lot of that. We'll take a uh, a quick break, we'll come back to the other side, we'll make a little more money, we also have the raise to talk about, to listen to Kevin Cash, we haven't talked much about Aaron Judge, uh. a 61 quest coming up, is he the MVP?

We haven't talked much about Aaron Judge and his pursuit of 61. Last night was a, if you're watching the game last night, it was a moment. uh, set it up for us, my friend Boston Red Sox at Yankee Stadium, the rivalry is already there, a 4-4 game in the bottom of the ninth with one out and here comes Aaron, judge, at one of 61, sitting about six spectators, all on their feet just waiting for phones phones and this is what happened in the teams, so let it roll a little two down in the ninth, that ball was also ballistic.
I don't know what the exit velocity was, but it was 410 feet until morning or so. As deep as you can hit it without hitting it at Yankee Stadium. I mean, to me, it was just a crowd. How high did everyone go? Did you hear it and then a Collective, oh, though, and it's the cameraman like you have to go back and watch it? the cameraman actually like that it was like going to New Jersey or something this home run like this was a Bonds Mammoth bomb or something actually not that it wasn't that but it was pretty close you expected it to go over the wall the sound that made the sound full, all the time, that would have been a great way to do it right, coming out ahead against the Red Sox, yeah, and they come and the MLB is, you know, imagine they got screwed again, yeah, Uh, them.
I can't get anything right, yeah, so the Yankees are playing on Apple TV tonight, right? For those of you, it's the Red Sox and the Yankees on Apple TV. It's free if you have an Apple ID account, so if you're an Apple phone. but for those of you who are Android and are weird, you don't have that access, so I understand, but there are a lot of people asking for that game to be removed from Apple TV because why would you? you want a moment like that to happen on an online streaming service where not everyone can watch properly, yeah, so the Yankees were trying to adapt to change that and it seems like baseball has refused to do that, but Yes Network was trying to organize an agreement. with Apple Tea, but he will allow Michael K to call that game on Apple TV because if anyone is going to call it it has to be Michael K.
Michael K turned down the offer because he didn't want to take away from what the Apple people don't do. he refused to do it, so yeah, it doesn't look like it's going to happen, but the streaming world we live in, but if Aaron Judge hits 60, you know how many Apple TV subscriptions they're going to have. sell tonight oh more free trials that Amazon has run over the last two weeks when you get the free trial remember like I never do it like I never do it um that's a bad that's a bad deal for baseball this is what baseball means, I mean if this was the NFL and it was a great record, come on, they're flexing that in every way they can so everyone can see it properly.
Is it okay if it's a Thursday night in the NFL? I trust in those situations if it has to do with making more money, yes, the amount of money, but that's why the Amazons and the apples pay for these things, they pay a lot of money for these rights for moments like this, yes, and you can't, you can't just use certain ones unless you're going to give them back a ton of money, which you know they're not going to do, and you know people will find a way, if you're a Yankees fan, you're going to find a way. way um or I'll see it on SportsCenter later so on Twitter I immediately refer to the clips there and yeah you've seen it yeah so you know no that's not the NFL wouldn't do it because this is where The bread is spread with butter. uh, but you know, and I was listening to Tim Kirkchen the other day, uh, Buster Olney, I think universally everyone is on the judging bandwagon for MVP just because the angels have been so bad, you know, and Otani is the first to win 10 games and hit. 30 home runs, he's the first one to hit either of these pitches and I think when you do both at this level, I mean he's the 10 best hitter in the game and one of the 10 best pitchers in the game.
I won't, I don't know when we'll see that again, you know, he said, are we going to give him the MVP every year, especially when his team finishes every year? Well, thanks for coming, it's hard to do. I want to say that? what he's doing is harder than what the judge is doing, I'm just saying that, he said the next closest to the judge is what 40 40 home runs are now, yeah, he's got 20 home runs clear in a day and age when we I know we've been talking about this narrative since Matt cast on the show a few months ago, maybe a month ago, and I asked him since the beginning of your career, which you've known for 10 or 12 years now, how much harder is. to hit and he's gone and just with the analytics, the pitch placement, the velocity, the changeup, it's very difficult to hit in the baseball net right now and what the umpire is doing and they're not even giving it, you know you can see three strikes a week. night and keep hitting home runs like he was hitting them is absolutely incredible and the fact that the Yankees are winning, but look, you put that Yankee team around Sohail Otani and he has more home runs, he has more wins, am I wrong? but I'm wrong, I'm just pointing out that it's okay that the Yankees went through a difficult two months, right, it wasSo much does he want to say that this isn't a big league market, uh, just so he can make more money?
I mean, I know I can go on and on, but it's disgusting, it's absolutely and I think Dick Vitale had enough, yeah. he's had enough yeah Dickey V was a little mad at the fans he said he tweeted here the lightning bolts and the Buccaneers have fan support people say a new stadium is needed and I agree but that will ensure that crowds ask the Marlins as their new stadium. Didn't draw crowds Ray's baseball gives us quality baseball, but sports fans don't respond, look, you know, I did my little rant yesterday, the other day, it's more about winning, it's more than just winning, idiot, You know, I love you, brother, I love you. um but it's more than this, you can't piss on fans and this in these times when the recession is hitting everyone so hard and I think this is a big reason why things have changed this year um I mean , it's Especially in recent months people don't have expendable income and when they have the option to watch it on TV or go to a mausoleum, that's it and you have to fill the gas tank to get there, you should know that.
You're going to go in a low energy atmosphere, you're going to spend a lot of money, even at 40 off, you're going to spend a lot of money comparatively speaking, and on top of that, you're giving it to a billionaire who doesn't give a damn about the fans and does things like this, I mean, when you're in business, you have a court business, you have to court your fans, you have to court your clients, this guy has and this guy sitting here with half a billion dollars in the bank that he moved to another uh another company that he is the sole owner of according to the lawsuit and by the way, the increases have not denied it, I mean, if the fans know that the concert is over, they will finally be probably if they are listening to this show and because we are the only ones that talk about it and listen to it and the people on the web, I mean you see the fans on the internet and on Twitter and Instagram, they were fed up with the fans are fed up, a lot of you said it, there are Bucks fans, There are fans of the Rays, the race, and what they are doing that the Rays aren't doing.
Guts will give them a long list of things and it all starts with customer service and putting the fan first, the raise put the fan last, they don't give a damn about the fans and they have proven it time and time again and there comes a time. where people just say effort, we're not going to do it. We're not going to do it, you upset us so many times, we're not going to keep showing up just because you have a baseball team that's winning in a terrible situation where you have the money to move them to Tampa. the opportunity to do it in 2018, you had the opportunity to invest less than others and more players than you had, you had tons of opportunities to promote your team to a fan base that does not have a lot of money and time and time again you have said that it is not a major league market the fans are not here and now that you say that your sister city plan has been suddenly scrapped oh, we love Tampa, we love the Tampa Bay market, now I mean, you go, you go on a whim, you You have contradicted yourself so many times so that people no longer believe in you, but they believe in the Bucks because they have invested in their product, but I do believe that there is lightning.
I just think there is a culture in this area which is strange to me and I mention it because of similar comments like this one that were on dick vitals and they mention that it's sad that you go to most restaurants, bars in Saint Pete downtown , including this is true and sometimes this happens in Tampa too and you have to ask if they have the game on and they don't even know the channel, yeah, yeah, this is true, this is true, you go to In any bar right behind Tropicana Field it's hard to find where the games are played you go to sports bars like sports bars and you have to tell them to turn on the game well you know why part of that is marketing yeah it's marketing and Dick.
You also brought up another good point, it's like shouting where are the local businesses and this is also a problem, there are just not enough businesses engaging with the surge or not engaging with them, it's one of the two. I'm sure you could probably tell me which one. Because? Why could lightning do this? Why have the Bucks been able to do this? Why is this a big reason we can't get money? because you guys don't reach out, that's what I'm saying, you don't promote yourselves, you don't expose the players, you don't do any of the things that other teams do. because it costs money and it takes effort and I think a long time ago he just threw up his hands and said whatever, we'll put a team there, if they show up, they show up.
I got the money from my TV, we'll keep the payroll down. I don't really care yeah that's the way they act and when and when fans like the other day we had the fan who said, "I put money into the previous plan where you bought, bought, spent, I guess you put in x amount of dollars and I wanted to save you some of that money in the playoffs and they say no, I can't do it, I'm sorry, instead of saying, okay, I know the rules said you couldn't, but you know what you want to just be in the game you're a loyal fan we want to reward you okay we'll use that money for the playoffs no they don't say they don't do things like I guess they don't cater to the fans I guess for me as a fan I've always been able to separate the two I know they don't separate, no.
I wonder, do you know how many fans are clearly not separating the two or are incapable of doing so because again the facts? Judging by the facts, you've gotten less than 10,000 people in the building in four games. back-to-backs this week against two of the best teams in the league and you yourself are a very good team, it's not like we're a last place team. and no one wants to spend money to see it's a good team and they're not getting the support so it's like I don't know I just like to think there are more people here than any population in Tampa St.
Pete yeah that's it able to separate the two, but now there is clearly a disconnect. It's scary going into the playoffs. It's like when I know they're putting playoff tickets on sale and like I was at that playoff game last year against Boston's races are going to be expensive, yeah, it was a great atmosphere, but I'm wondering, man, what? What will that assistance be? Will it suddenly increase literally like close to 30,000 people? Well I do not know. I know who prices the games, I think the price of Major League Baseball is the game, so if I'm not mistaken, but if they price the games at 135 a ticket like they did last year, I don't know how many people are going to buy it. not when they can see it on TV, it's just that they are and again, this economy is crushing people.
I know two-thirds of people now in the United States live paycheck to paycheck and if you're in that situation, how do you do it? You justify the expense of playoff tickets, you know what it's going to amount to four or five hundred dollars to take you and maybe one other person to a game like that in a month. I mean, yeah, I guess you could put it on a credit card, but it's probably maxed out too now that all the uh, third deck true ones can get their wish, yeah, in the playoffs. I wish, I mean, I love that, um, a couple of things here, a lot of Welcome they say that you can't even find Ray's merchandise around. stores barely outside of Dick's Sporting Goods uh until this season um yeah they just don't carry their gear and you know your stores won't just put your stuff in there you have to have ugly merch too okay I'm just being honest you love all of those Devil Ray stuff exactly, I use Devil Ray stuff, I think that fan is fantastic, I don't like any of the new stuff, his new stuff, I don't find it very ugly, okay, Jordan Chameleon says if the script changed and lightning would appear again in The Dump of a drop, I would still go to the games simply because Lightning and BSG or world class organizations from top to bottom are so good that the bottom line is that they will.
Do that, if we were playing the showroom again, are there people flocking to the showroom? I don't think there are that many, I don't think there are that many, but that's all with an organization like lightning when you, when you are there. I know they would have recognized a long time ago that they needed a better stadium and that they needed to move it to the middle of the market if Jeff Finnick owned the surge the way they would have, that stadium would have been built, certainly. "We're past 2018 and we'd already be there, but I would say within five years he would have figured out a way to get the stadium, yes, in Tampa.
I'm sorry, but he would have done it. I can't imagine it." It's almost 25 years, what will be next year? The 25th anniversary, yes, the race, yes, we have been in this franchise for almost 25 years and I don't think that if you asked someone in 1995, when this franchise or this city was awarded the increase, I don't think they would If you asked anyone involved in that they would say yes, in 30 years we will still be playing at the lowest point, do you think you think anyone would have said that, maybe someone would have said that you are still playing at the drop like a bit no, no one I would have said no, damn Bud Selig said this, I think in 2005.
He says eventually the team will be in Tampa. I mean, there was always an expectation that they were going to move to Tampa, um, but again, this is one guy's problem, one guy is to blame here and that's Stu Sternberg, every other businessman, every other owner, and we've had people on the show who represent these other owners and who have been in baseball who have been throughout them, they all say the same thing universally and it's not even a question, it's like, oh, of course, no. We built a stadium in Tampa a long time ago, but this guy has, I don't know what it is.
He got him out for Tampa so he doesn't want all the fans like there's a group of fans that once just want him to move to Tampa like they're not even saying anything negative about you and you and you. By destroying his banner, it shows everyone's attitude and how MLB continues to allow him to operate this thing when he has clearly poisoned the water and has all these legal problems with his partners that will expose Major League Baseball. I don't know what the hell they're doing, what Stu has in Major League Baseball, it's not like they're not getting rid of this guy, I mean, I just don't understand how this guy has poisoned this market and us.
We have all the ingredients in this Market that would lead you to believe that a development could be built in Ybor City. I mean, why did they do it in Texas with a perfectly good stadium? Why could they do it in Atlanta? They are doing it in Miami with a soccer stadium for the love of God without receiving public money because the real estate sector is going crazy. If you put a stadium in Vibor City, the amount of development you could put into selling condos and I mean business would make a ton of money it's not hard to figure this out having a baseball team you could leverage to bring in 20 to 30,000 people 81 nights a year are you kidding me?
This is such a big business tray that it is unconscionable and you say. Why isn't it happening? Because I'm standing still and I don't understand why the local media doesn't get this and get down to business and point the finger at the guy who's been the problem since day one. And listen, people think. I have something against you personally, no I don't, although I think he certainly has it against me, it's because what's best for the area, it's best for all baseball fans, it's best for St. Petersburg to rebuild. that place. with a Convention Center, not a ballpark or something that will attract a lot more people, a lot more heads and beds and a lot more Equity, uh, affordable housing.
I mean, how does affordable housing and equity and all these things make sense? Rightly so, the mayor was elected to give a billion dollar stadium to a billionaire. I mean, how come that doesn't add up at all? And certainly, in a failed location, you're going to spend a billion dollars of taxpayer money for a baseball stadium, are you serious? I can't believe that's not even going to work there no, oh it is. I know we talk about it a lot but it's frustrating and I'm on the verge of what's best for the area that's all that matters I had to interrupt you because we have football conversations now let's talk college football Pat Bernard will join us next to the Osceola uh 247 Knowles and we're going to talk about this Boston College game and some college football so stick around but you're looking for a refinance and even if you already have the approval letter you need to call my man Scott Fitzgerald at American Mortgage Services.

So it's better and then of course Florida State has been on the recruiting trail you could also do it like Florida State on Fuego yeah it's been a good week we'll get to all that but let's start today by going back and that game on Louisville and uh, uh, I don't know who did that.
Florida State released a video, uh, retrospective of the game, it was, uh, it was chilling, really, it had Norvell's speech in the locker room before and after the game. a lot of great on-field audio, on-field level stuff, very well organized and man, I was so excited watching that game how they continued to fight through adversity and all the players that lost, you know, Pat, you've been out there. On the field you have coached college football. You know how hard it is to win away from home on a Friday night like that. I don't care if you play at Louisville or Notre Dame or whoever, when adversity hits and you're on the road it's tough.
I saw a fight at a competitive level on this team that I haven't seen since 2013. It was a great victory. What were your thoughts? Listen. I said coming into the season, this was the most important game of the year, no matter what happened in the LSU game, we wanted to see everything validated correctly, we wanted to see if they wanted LSU to be able to validate that win by going on the road and everything. success and listening, it was a perfect ending to a very imperfect game, they got better as the game went on on both sides of the ball and what they were doing and as you mentioned, I remember when we started Osceola, created as a website, ago four years, it's been around a long time.
A long time ago in print, but you know, four years ago, all we wanted was a team that would fight. Now what we have seen is a team that will only fight but overcome and first overcome adversity. In a lot of ways in that game, you know, they got off to a good start, the three of them and they came out for Louisville, I think to start the game and then FSU scored to make it 7-0 and then it was imperfect for a long time after that, but they I went back again and again and of course, you know you lose Jared's verse, you lose, uh, Jordan Travis, uh, you didn't have Fabian, I love it, uh, you know, bless, Harris's been out, you know, we saw Dylan Gibbons, I don't think him.
I was on the last trip and you, but you had guys that stepped up again and again and we talked about the idea, the fact that we thought we could feel that this was a different team around Mike Norvell, at the beginning of camp That This was something different about this team and listen, they're not a perfect team and they won't be competing for the national championship this year, but Florida State is definitely going in the right direction and listen, they've overcome adversity at every turn. Turn, they've won games in very dramatic fashion and coming out of that game, the coaching staff had a lot to work with with these kids to say, Hey, you know we won, but we've got to keep moving forward, so you know, great game. . big game for him 3-0 and creates a great opportunity to go 4-0 this week so we'll talk about that game in a moment but you mentioned the recruiting trail and at least they get two big commitments. great commitment and, uh, Hakeem Williams is a guy that's a five-star receiver that they're looking at and also gives us an update on what happened this week in recruiting.
Obviously, they made the class's 15th commitment to Blake Nicholson of Manteca California. outside linebacker uh really uh really good athlete Place running back for your high school team a guy who can uh gets after his physical check out his highlight tape uh has a linebacker mentality there's no doubt he can get out of the lead and that's most of what he does in high school, he plays outside linebacker, obviously it's going to be a bit of a transition when he gets to Florida State if they're still in that 4-2-5 base defense where he's going to have to learn how. to play in the box, but you certainly know that one of the best linebacker prospects they've signed is a position where you need a second linebacker with that class and at a position that really needs to go big on linebackers, whether through Trail recruiting. or the portal and with that need to get such a quality linebacker and recruit two other programs on the other side of the country closer to his home says a lot about the job that Randy Shannon then, of course, the director of players, general manager of staff, uh, Derek Ray, uh, who in his offseason Mike added that he had been in contact with kids since his days in Derek's days at Oregon State, so what was there any connection between his California Kid in Florida State previously?
I don't think so. the connection was that Florida State's general manager of player personnel recruiting had been to Oregon State and Derek had been uh Derek uh Blake had been on Derek's radar uh since then, so I think that was the end and then of course, you know, he and Randy Shannon did a great job, yeah, that's a great comeback, let's hope that holds for uh FSU and tell me about Hakeem Williams, what's going on with him, well, you know it seems to have gone down if you ask the experts, it's uh between Florida State and Texas A M, we'll find out today at 2:30, a lot of people, trending in the direction of Florida State, various recruiting websites.
I know our Charles Fishbein has chosen Florida State, as has Ryan Wright, who writes for Rivals. down in Tampa, so listen, he would be the highest-rated recruit, the fifth best, the fifth best player in the fifth best, playing in the state of Florida, the sixteenth best player in the nation according to rivals, listen, yeah Get it, the first five-star receiver. I can remember quite a while, but listen, you see. I watched film on him again today and the first thing that comes out is that he looks like an NFL receiver, he's built differently than most high school kids, he's a stud. uh and he's got oversized hands, wingspan, speed and then on top of all that he'll block his butt he's so nice yeah anyway uh he could be a big uh listen this could be a bigger surprise or a greater victory than the one they obtained.
Saturday night, you know, but listen, you know he would be a difference maker, and a kid who could come in and compete right away, doesn't he know that Jimbo Fisher's offense, the current variation, is freaking awful? Hey listen. You have to think about the moment of his engagement announcement. Listen, they still have to get right to December 15th and take it right to the goal line, but listen, watch Johnny Wilson have that big game against seven catches for 149 yards and me. I'm sure there was someone on the phone with him after that game saying, Hey Hakeem, did you see what Johnny did?
We're looking forward to getting you here so we can introduce you in the same way and yes, by the way, you saw an Offensive, I'm not dragging it's College Station with Texas A M and Miami, two offenses that couldn't do anything, but anyway, yeah, so I made that play, a factor, you'd have to think he did it and, you know, that now. they have to keep all these kids, right, I mean, yeah, but listen, we'll find out if they get in, but it certainly would be a uh continue, a very good start, 2022 for Florida State football recruiting is where everything ends.
You have to have the horses, you have to have the crowbars and Joe is the help of the that pregame speech and the Aftergame speech, I mean, if you don't do it, if it doesn't make you cringe that you don't want to play for this guy, it's, I don't know, like, where is FSU, it's right here , Tell me about it. a little bit about this Boston College team, obviously they have it, they're not the Boston College team that we've seen in previous years that just hit you with the run, the big forward, um, it's just different and FSU has 17 and a half points . favorite and arrive home at eight o'clock Seminole on Saturday night.
I wish I could be there, but I can't, so yeah, tell me a little bit about Boston College, you're coming next week for the fourth game of the week. listen, it's not listen, I don't know if we thought Boston College was going to be more than a mid-level ACC team, but we, but it's not like we reallylittle out of reach at this point without McDaniels, the Ravens should have won last week. I think they're going to give it to New England, to be honest, this one started in three, the Ravens were favored by three. It's down to two and a half and I'll increase that number the Ravens are going to win this game there's no doubt I think they beat the Patriots because the Ravens can score there's no doubt the Ravens can score and the Patriots can't They can't score so I mean this may be the easiest play of the week.
Seems like a bad bet because of this line, but I don't care, I'm going to hit the Ravens in this minus two and a half next. The game is probably the most attractive to go to, the dogs are the lions against the Vikings because the lions will always be in the game. Listen, I think the lions are on the precipice of doing something here and the Vikings looked like an outsider. football team the other night Kirk, you know, I don't know, this is Sunday at one o'clock, so it's not Monday night Kirk, but I like the Lions here and getting six points against the Vikings, getting six points went well, um, I would. look at the money line there, I really would, but getting six, that's it, that's great.
I agree with you, give me the six. Eagles and commanders. This is interesting. Wincing against Jalen hurts. He's in Washington. I'm always looking for the underdogs he can. argue to win a game and you know Carson Wentz has been a big surprise, there's no doubt he's scoring points, but I think the Eagles can be the second best team in the NFC. Jalen hurts, I'm telling you. uh since I've been promoting him since early in his preseason he's a winner he's improved his passing he's got weapons they're good at both lines of scrimmage I think the commanders are a little bit of a uh uh false flag right here I'm I'm I'm going to take the Eagles in this one, yeah, another team that was dealt a bad hand again is the Colts, they have the Chiefs at home, uh, I don't know what to think. the Colts, but I know what to think of the Chiefs, how do you pick, how do you pick the Colts, you just can't, that's what one of those things, although in the NFL you look at that number that started at two and a half, now It's five and a half and he says, come on, the Colts just got their asses kicked and the Chiefs are rolling these games they put on every year in the NFL you see these games you think it's a damn block and everyone will pick the Chiefs in their suicide groups this week and you see the Colts Damn, win this game, you know what it looks like, easiest layup of the week and I'm going to make it, I'll stay away, I'll tell you a team I love, Jacksonville, Jacksonville is intriguing for me and they're getting 10 and a half points against the Chargers yeah and Jacksonville's defense I think is better than people think and by the way the Chargers are hurt Justin Herbert yeah he's hurt and no I know if he'll be able to play and if he plays he'll be able to take a shot and I don't know if he'll be able to keep playing, it started at 10:30 and it went down to seven um, but I think it's going to go back up so I'm waiting until it gets to seven.
Half past eight and I'd hit the Jags, yeah, I got this news. The festival of the week is Texans and Bears. um, I'll just throw a dart and use the Texans on that one because I don't like the Bears' passing offense at all. um, we can. move on Rams Cardinals big NFC West showdown uh I think the Rams have the Cardinals in their pocket they have Kyle they are in Kyler Murray's head I think they understand this Murray is a weirdo you can never count him out and something is wrong with the Rams something is wrong with the Rams I will probably stay away from this game.
I wouldn't bet it, but if I did, it would be three and a half if it's more than three. I'm taking the Cardinals, okay, another one I'm probably not going to pay too much attention to. Falcons on the Seahawks, the Falcons are going to Atlanta, they are interesting right now, they are very interesting, um, They are playing better than I would give them credit for. I don't know what to think of the Seahawks. um, you know, without Russell Wilson, they're going to be kind of like, you know, Gino. Gino just does it, the Seahawks. they're at home with the 12th man, that's worth seven points to me, so I'm going to take I'm going to take the Seahawks later Sunday Night Football 49ers at the Broncos I'm always in my Jimmy Dre band Jimmy bandwagon I'm Russell Wilson, The Broncos are going through a lot, I know it's a mile high, but I'm going with Jimmy G and the Niners.
Well, this is interesting. The Broncos started as two and a half point favorites. The Niners became favorites by a point and a half. in this game and I don't think the Broncos and Nathaniel Hackett have no idea I think the coach has no idea they can't make plays and he's ugly Russ looks like he is and I everyone blames Russ I don't blame Russ this is a debacle with this new coaching staff the 49ers are energized with Jimmy G this is a lamp will probably be back there this is a layup the 49ers are going to roll the Broncos uh Monday night Monday night the most historic matchup probably the Cowboys vs. the Giants the G-Man I'm going with the Cowboys, did you see Jerry?
I welcome a quarterback controversy because that means we're winning football games. I mean, I think you're winning football games this one. week because there is no way in this world that the Giants are going to go 3-0, they are going to screw it up somehow. Cooper Rush is better than us. I think we figure he's probably one of the best backups he'll ever have. do it on the highway Dallas is going to be two and one. I like the Giants on this ship. I think Saquon is on a damn mission and I think I like his coaching staff.
He makes a difference. He makes a big difference. Brian Dayball, huh. They're better than people think they have better Personnel, they've just been coached so horribly and this is a big game for the Giants, it's a bigger game since they played in probably a decade and, um, it's them. They're ready to go, the Cowboys are coming in, they're still the Cowboys, that offensive line isn't very good. Cooper Rush gave him a little shot in the arm last week, but they came back down to earth and I like the Giants tonight. point at home and last but not least, the Packers against the Bucks.
I think we both know we're leaning on this one, but give me a score prediction there, well the dollar started off three and a half point favorites on this one, the Las Vegas consensus is. even one, a one-point favorite, I don't know what the hell is going on with that, it's probably Mike Evans' suspension, but I think the smart money will come late to the Buccaneers. I don't see how the Packers Rogers can't win in Florida, it's a close game, but the Buccaneers win it if it's just a one point line, you have to hit the Buccaneers on this one, the over under is 41. um, I still get I'd lean towards the under on that.
I think it's going to be a 17 10 17 13 game, something like that. I think if it was difficult for them to pass, I like the Bucks, obviously I'm going to go to the Bucks and I'm going to go 27-13, I think the Bucks. They're going to create some distance there at the end of the game, okay, because I'm looking at six Packers getting the core. Mike Edwards picks six, maybe, maybe, Packers getting core. I don't see how they are opening up to Carlton Davis and Antoine Winfield. I don't see it so if the Packers win this game there will be a couple of broken plays, they'll do that for him with Rogers throwing a ball downfield on a miracle play, okay we went a little further with our picks.
But it was funny. A really great week. We have had very good guests throughout the week. Come back and watch the podcast throughout the week. Brad Johnson was fantastic earlier this week.
