Bear ears in two different styles. If you want Boop Boop to stay as usual, like this video so I know you're here crafting with me now this is what we're going to do, we're going to go beyond a sock

even though these look like the Squishy Little Cuties and look at the fun little tails and we're just going to match our faux fur we're going to attach some ears and let others fall off so we have to start with the

pattern

this is a hat and ears

also two body sizes, we are going to need a glue gun, some scissors, some pliers, an exact knife. needle, an embroidery thread and some sewing pins, some faux fur, a wooden ball for the nose.

I'm going to use a one inch wooden round, you can use anything you have, this is just Mongolian and white, two different colors of fleece, my primary is going to be white with a blue accent and then I'm going to connect some of the ears so this is just the Darice floral wire and you need something to measure everything so just a note on the floral wire this is the

easy

bending type so I'm going to make all the cuts for this pattern with a Pair of scissors. You can cut 12 by 8, 12 inches wide, 8 inches tall, or 13.

So the pink gnome I made was 12 and this one will be 13. We're going to glue the bottom and the long, tall edge right sides together. That's all to get started. I get asked a lot if I can recreate the box gnome body I have in a popular free pattern, uh, for sewing. I get asked a lot so I'm trying to incorporate a few more of these heat glued box back gnomes. They are super

easy

to make and come together pretty quickly, so I'm going to leave about a half inch at the top and then I'm going to make A note about the fleece we want: If you don't have four-way stretch fleece, you want your hat to be four-way stretch. the roving, okay, so when you cut your hat pattern, this is the base of the hat, make sure the width is where the stretch is.

Okay, so pin these two pieces together. We'll be working with the wing here. I'm just going to put them right sides together, so I'm going to pick up this wing on the wrong side of the fabric on both sides and it's only a half inch or so, but you can go deeper. This is a versatile pattern. It's also super

cute

and fun, so you don't have to do this with the ears, but I thought it would be

cute

to put the right sides together with two different colors. fleece and just pin that pattern cut out and then pin them and save it for later okay there's a lot of save it for later because we're going to use hot glue to get the right side of these together you're going to need a Detail of the tip of the glue gun, you will need hemostats that are a little longer or a set of pliers.

Okay, you need something to measure here, so in order to get these out, we'll leave the bottom one. inches and a half, so it's 1.5 inches and you can measure it with anything you have, but you want to make sure it stays open. We'll be able to rotate it through that opening, so all I'm going to do. What I do here is use a glue gun with a detail tip and just add a little bit to each side at 1.5 inches so I know I shouldn't go any further, then I'll put my entire arm and wrist on the table to get a nice Solid glue application that does not shake.

I'm just going to do a nice little section of hot glue around this thing and it doesn't matter if you're putting wire on it or not, when you do it better with the hot glue, you do it better when you turn it in, clockwise or outside, you know what I mean, so if you take some time on this part, you're only helping yourself, so do it for both ears and then set them aside and I. I'm serious, we've let this body sit, so now it's time to open this little rectangular bag you just made. By the way, you can make an easy drawstring bag this way too.

What we're going to do is split the sides and you have a diamond on the bottom, you're going to take about an inch of fabric and you're going to place both stitches on the center seam, you're going to want to use a generous amount of hot glue here, okay? a generous amount of hot glue, flip it over while still holding the other side. A generous amount of hot glue here, along the length, as I call it cross bar, is not, and then you want to hold it until it really sets. and then don't touch it, put it aside I told you to leave a lot of it aside, okay, so for the hat you have a lot of options for this little guy.

I put it at the top of the curve and then it falls off easily. put them lower so that they have little ears that sit behind the sad

I don't know, they remind me of a sad bunny, but anyway everyone starts by gluing from the edge up to two inches, okay, that's where you have to be able to cover all your fur and most of the body, so start by gluing both sides again, the right sides are together, you've already added the wing and you're just going to do two inches on both sides and So can you guess we're going to leave it like this, so we're going to set it aside and not touch it.

We're going to measure four inches wide by two inches tall for a beard. Now you can turn it into a rectangular beard. you can make it into a V-shaped beard or you can make it into a U-shaped beard, none of that matters, it's your choice as this is not regulated. Four inches basically covers the 12 inch body or the 13 inch body very well and it looks good without dragging the ground with the fur, so on this one I'm going to make a U shaped body and if you're new to cutting faux fur, use an X-Acto knife and simply cut the back of the fur. that skin cloth and then watch when you take it off.

I don't know why I said that, but it looks really cool. We need our one inch wooden ball still, even though I just have it there, it keeps falling off my table, so here it is. what we have a body a hat two ears a ball and our beard guess what we are ready to start with the assembly. I'm going to turn this bag in or out and look at the bottom of the little box that you made so simple, then. I'm going to take a cup of polyethylene pellets and add that to the bottom. Now just FYI, you can add more.

I'm not going to tell you not to do it, but this is where you really need to add a good amount of Stuffing polyfill, stuffing or stuffing that you can get at the craft store, you can tear it off a pillow or you can get it at stuffed animals from Dollar Tree, you'll just want to fill it almost to the end. at the top, making sure there is a good inch of space, cut some embroidery floss, thread it through an embroidery needle and make a running stitch around the top of the body, about an inch away.

I started at the back seam just because you didn't wear it. It's not necessary, you can literally start from the front, it doesn't matter, just make sure you don't tie a knot and that you don't pull that rope all the way to the end. I'm speeding through this part just to get to the good stuff. things here we're going to come out of the body exactly right next to an eighth of an inch next to where we started so we're just going to squeeze it tight I'm tamping everything down making sure everything's fixed look at the bottom of that box love Sometimes I put two loops before tightening it only because I tend to break embroidery thread without it, so then I tied a series of knots because I'm paranoid.

I glued the knots with excess hot glue because did I mention I was paranoid? Then I added some hot glue in the center of the joint and now let it drop, make sure it falls each time and then set it aside. Here's my favorite part. Are you ready? You're ready for this, so like I mentioned, these don't have wires, they're super cute because they're hot glue, they have a little bit of structure, okay, but they don't stand up on their own. Make one of those like this so I can show you, but then we'll do the other wiring.

Now you can use your hemostats or you can use the pliers. Grab the tip and then look carefully. Listen carefully. Sometimes, we are craftsmen. not so gentle, but you see how gentle I'm being, just gentle like your pet in a very angry moment, you know, a big kitten or something, look at that happening, look at that, okay, now here's the part which is a little frustrating, it rubs all over the seam. between your fingers I'm not going to edit this because I want you to see how long this takes is true, you can also use it as a bone folder or the blunt edge of your scissors or a bamboo skewer, but there you have it, you have to spread all those edges okay so this is Darice's floral wire don't do it like that you have to add a bunch that's going to go to the body bring me because I don't want that wire to move so what I'm going to do is add a little bit more down here and it doesn't have to be perfect up here, we're not even going to put it in yet, but I want to make sure that I always cut it the pliers have this handy little wire cutter at the end of the little alligator mouth.

I don't know what, I don't know the parts of the pliers. They stole it from my husband. grab the pliers, I can't find my human dads, I know I have them, um, I know I moved them, but yeah, I'm not going to make you watch this again, but you basically do the same thing, take it out and rub it all over. your fingers just turn if you're sewing you can just press this but if you're sewing you're not going to have the same problem anyway so this is just everyone keeps asking me for a glue version of this so I'm going to give it to you a glue version of this, this one hundred percent hot glue, except for hand sewing, which you technically don't have to do, you can tie it into a nice big ball.

I don't recommend it, but that's okay, here we go. We're just going to pull these towards the edges and then rotate them, but it's not quite right yet, so we're going to put this on the hat and then rotate it at the bottom here, but you can see that it crosses over naturally, but don't do it. touch it, okay, cool things coming, take our little hat, remove the pins, now we're going to use a create a front, it doesn't matter, the seams are on the side, so, whichever side is the front of your hat , that's the side where the color points makes sense.

I hope that makes sense, so we want to make sure that the color is on the front of the hat, so if you have an ugly piece of fabric, let's line it up. the place where it's glued on the brim of our hat, okay, so we want to be able to catch all of the glued pieces inside our joint, this is very important, okay, because you have flexible pieces at the end, remember, so you can put them to a side. Remember again I told you here, you can put them on the curve of the hat to the side, they will cross on the inside of the hat, this one here you can put it a little lower, you can turn them to where the seams are.

They are pointing up there are a lot of things you can do here. I'll try it this way. I'll put them on the top of the hat quite far apart still, hey again, see? Remember I told you no. Twist it now, you can twist it on any part that sticks out of your hat, you can twist that part, but don't twist them inside, but that's okay, here's the fun, it's not really fun, you're going to wait a while. We're going to glue the back of the hat up to the ear, so we're going to do this side as well, making sure it's not crooked because it's going to stay that way once you glue it on, so you're going to glue the hat. on the back of the ear and then you are going to glue the center piece so that the two pieces of the hat are together.

Make sure you have the sides of the ears too. You have to catch all of this just like you would when you were sewing right. just touch it, you don't need to press it, we don't want a huge seam here and then go back to the side, you'll get the side of the ear and then up to where you already glued. again my arm is completely on the table my wrist is on the table so there's a little bit of hot glue, look at that, all good, on the other side and again, nothing except the weighting has been edited here, okay, so I'm not rushing anything this is literally how long it takes to make and it's super cute add about five minutes to waiting for the hot glue once it's all done flip it over and do the back so you're now gluing the hat to the colored part of your fleece.

I chose it. Just make sure everything is together and guess what I do? I set it aside and then make a pom pom tail. I cut about a one inch square of the same faux fur I'm using for the beard. I'll take each one. point and I'm going to glue it in the center you don't want to glue the fur on top of the fur you want to glue the fabric backing to the fabric backing that will give you the best bond now you might also like to use a premade pom pom. I was about to say I didn't know where they are, but that's not true.

I know exactly where they are. I'm just too lazy to go get them all, so now I'm going to roll it up in my hands and then I'm going to cut thehair. This is a little tricky, but if you have a lint brush, it rolls up quickly or you can be like me and just throw it on the floor, which is Boop. What I do there and then I put it aside because I'm not ready, but look, this is dry, so we just take a look. Look I'm so proud of myself for this pattern and the reason is because I've messed this up so many times on my own, despite being as creative as I am, hot glue sometimes stumps me just to adapt, no need to go through the wire through the body, but just make sure of that small part.

What we tied is in the center at the top and bottom of the hat, you can see the wire sticking out, don't worry, we're just going to put the beard on right now, once you have it where you want it, determine the number of wrinkles in your hat, the 12 inch body with This same pattern has more wrinkles than the 13 inch body, but you can lift this hat up and give it even more wrinkles if you want. I'm tucking that faux fur underneath, centering it on the body, and then I'm going to glue it on. generous glue on the back of that faux fur try not to put glue on the fur and you are golden yes I am happy, I would be embarrassed if I told you that when I am making this it is still very cold outside, we are not close to Easter, but I wanted to start all my

n gnomes this year because I didn't have a good chance last year so I divided the fur on the fabric backing in the center of the beard and added a little hot glue and then added my familiar nose.

I figured out where those wires were going to go into the body a very small slit and instead of running them like this, don't bend them down or even in a U shape because that way they won't stick out the bottom, uh, or this side, so once you've threaded them in there, make sure they're close to the bottom and then put the hat on exactly how you want it, just pull it down. on each side and make sure the front and back have the correct amount of scoosh you want. Go ahead and add a little bit of glue to the inside brim of the hat and then place it on top of the nose if you have any glue leaking out.

Just wipe it off with your fingernail and now it's time to glue the back of the hat all over. Almost done, you could put a bow on a girl. I know she didn't see herself in the middle, but she was in it. medium I promise I'm just going to add my little pom pom and this guy has made a
