LED Leisten & Stripes Installation Montage von M1Molter

Apr 02, 2024
Hello guys and welcome to a new video here in the video I will show you how you can quickly build beautiful lighting using these LED strips. For this purpose, LED Miele has provided me with some equipment and materials and with this I can now build a system with which I can create a nice lighting situation and illuminate special things. This means that these LED strips are very flexible and since they are also very thin I can create nice lighting situations. I can light up low cabinets. I can light any strip and the like. I would like to set up a system for you here and I would like to show you what you need, what we have to take into account and how we set up such a system.

First of all, let's find a situation that we want to clarify. I take this staircase and I want to illuminate these wooden walkways on the left and right, I have decided on two profiles. At LED Miele there are different profile systems. Here I have some sun loungers, which means we have a flat system, an EX system or a high system, depending on the situation where we want to install the system we can choose the system accordingly. Now I have simply decided on these two systems. But as I say there are many other variants, even here there are variants with a semicircular cover, where we will do the same with the covers, so that these LED strips cannot be seen directly in this profile, they would be installed.

More Interesting Facts About,

Here they just stick together. Of course, there are different covers for this, that is, simply this plastic cover, which is available in different shades of darkness, here it is very permeable, very translucent and here very satin. Here I just call it not so translucent. Simply choose the system you need. These deviations actually fit all profiles in general, that is, you just click on the profile here and they are covered. Basically, the profile of I will demonstrate here on other profiles that fit and all the profiles are small exceptions. we have a half-round cover a half-round cover this half-round cover only fits on this profile which would be the uni 12 profile here then we can make an additional Apply a semi-circular cover and thus create a completely different light image.

So basically we have a nice little lamp, I'll just say that it can then emit something from the side, but like I said, here you choose the system that you need. Once we have decided what type of system we want to use and what type of cover we want to use, then we just look at how we want to place our profiles. We can place the profiles straight. There is also the option to connect profiles to each other. As a general rule, this part here allows you to connect two profiles together and therefore essentially extend these profiles.

These profiles are offered in two meters in length. If of course you want to lay longer distances, you will need to arrange them accordingly to connect the profiles to each other. Additionally, you can also create corners with the profiles. There are two different options for this. Some profiles have these corner connectors on offer. With these exes we can connect these profiles at 90°, so we can also just use this connector again here. I glued it on the back and then glued it to this part of the corner, so basically we have built a 90 degree corner and we can continue working like this if you want to do without this system or in the Mainz systems there is no such connection, that It's not a problem here to cut.
Then just cut the profiles and we can continue working like this. Now I have decided on these two profiles. I won't have to lengthen them, from here they reach two meters. You just have to pay attention. We may also need end caps, which are also available here. In the system, I mean, you can just put these here on the sides so you can basically close these profiles, so if you need end caps, then I look for the corresponding cover strip, here I need two more pieces and now we get to the strips of pure LEDs. We have a large selection on offer, which means we can buy LED strips with RGB mode here, which are basically LEDs that can be changed in different colors or we take the single core LED strips, which are also here in the strips.
LEDs are available in different wattage levels. Power is expressed in watts per meter. This is very important for us. Consequently, we choose the strips we want. Either we need a lot of light or, of course, we use LEDs. with a slightly higher power, like these, which have 15 per meter, 6 watts or we don't want the light to be so dim, then we recommend this 3.2 watts per meter LED system, which is not as bright. Alternatively, you can also tune these LEDs, then you should think again. Possibly investing in something like this again means a dimmer and in this case also a remote control.
Please make sure you have single core LEDs, that is, the normal

stripes

, which are usually always dimmable with RGB LEDs. Then pay attention to whether they are dimmable or not and whether they are compatible with this system or not. Lastly, we need a power supply and this is very important before purchasing the power supply, determine the total meters you are lighting in volts and on. In my case I wanted to connect a power supply, of course, now I have four meters here that I want to illuminate and we will assume that now I am using these LEDs. , which will be the LEDs with a power consumption of 3.2 watts per meter, which of course multiplied by 4.
That means that we have to increase something to not only 4 watts per meter and we have many more, which means that, for Of course, there was a Consumption of 16 watts, which means that for us we have to buy the next highest power supply offered, that is, for sixteen patent sensations. If you have a power supply of around 20 or 30 watts, you obviously have a larger area to illuminate. , meaning you could have a power draw of 35 watts or 45, so you would always use the next higher power supply, meaning you would be at 45 watts. Then we recommend a power supply with 50 or 60 watts, so always choose the next one. larger power supply.
Another important note for RGB strips. Of course, this requires a switching module, with which you can of course trigger the color change in this dispute. This may also have to be included. Now we have put together the entire system. We only have one more point left to add. Maybe then we will have to fix our aluminum profiles. We can do it in different ways, or we glue them or the most comfortable way is this system, here we have a clip system. with this we can basically cut out the profiles and screw this system to the position where we want to place these strips and then you can just clip them on.
You might have to buy this too. Like I said, now we have the whole system. together we now go to the

installation

. In my case it is quite easy. I need two one meter long profiles and 97. Here I have two meter long profiles, so now I have to look at them to see that these Aluminum profiles are designed relatively It's simple, it's quite easy to edit, whether you take a hand saw, small bending saw or other tool suitable for cutting aluminum, simply record the length and then cut the profile to the corresponding length. Important small addition after cutting, Please pay attention again to whether the profile.
If you have pulled 1° when cutting, remove this degree again with a file so as not to hurt yourself. So now we have cut our profiles to size. Now we come to our LED. strips. These come here on a roll like this To install them we proceed as follows: These strips have an adhesive strip on one side which means we remove this part and then we can simply glue the strips together to get the Of course we can shorten the custom strips. Please pay attention to this. When you buy strips, it is usually always indicated at what intervals these strips can be shortened.
Let's just look at the strips they have. We will see these brands here. I'll show you here and now we can use these marks to make the

stripes

. Using scissors, we cut them, so to speak, to length. Now we determine the maximum length of the strips. Please be careful if this doesn't work at all. Please cut the strips a little shorter than the length of the profile I just glued here. Now I'm going to move on to my cover and my end caps. How do I choose the corresponding cover I want? Push it in here and look for the corresponding end caps and you have to be careful here.
Cut the cover a little bit shorter because these end caps then hit this cover, but that's a little different to the system. A small note: we still have two electrical cables here, that is, plus and minus. We still need to do this from the profile. In different places you can make a hole in your board here on the profile and take the cable out from behind, or make a hole in your board here on the cover and then you could just run the cable through here. I'll drill it into the cover. Now you basically run the wires here through my cover, but like I said, that's up to you and then just mount.
So now I move on to the second profile. I basically repeat everything again. The LED strips have a tape on the wide ends. A little extra tip for the electrical connection: if you have to cut several pieces, you don't necessarily have to throw away the rest because the LED strips have charging points on the cut edges. Here you may then need cables again so that you can then work without losses, that is, now we simply plus and minus marked something with water and simply soldered another cable to connect the strips to the current. I show it to you here on my table.
You can see it a little better, let's do this: Here we have the two strips. Here is the bravo we need for this transformer. We simply connect. to our power supply. It has two connections. Please make sure to choose AC input. This is the 230 volt connection side. This is where the 230 volts comes from, which consists of brown, this is the one outside and unfortunately and I applaud that it is neutral, unfortunately that is how it is connected to the mains. There is no land here, just leave it here. You can still connect it to the glow terminal here so it sits properly, but it's not connected to the Grabow and the other one.
At the end of the trio we find 2 connection cables, one black and one red, black means - red means plus, the same can be found here again on our LED strips, black and red. Now we have two variants: either we connect it directly to a terminal and now we can simply energize the transformer and our strips light up or in variant 2 we decide to connect a dimmer between them so that we can then dim the LED strips. take the sucker here and basically hold it in the middle. Important here we have the plaster and the output of the transformer of course on the input side just red on red and black on black then we have the output here we take our stripes and we also take red on red again here we can also take both stripes once we close it and black on black we have everything connected so far now we can turn on our transformer.
Please do not connect all the connections shown here in the closed state. So please always work in the no-power state, otherwise there is danger of life, so I set up all the connections. Now I plug my Bravo into the power supply and we can immediately see the stripes light up. Now we have our remote control. Here. With this we can now remove the LEDs and turn them back on ourselves or simply turn off the system. Like I said, we can also use one without the carpentry work. Hang the switch in front of the power supply and simply turn off the power supply and you can turn your LEDs on or off.
Then we only need to place the LEDs in the appropriate position. To do this we proceed as follows: we take our clamping claws and screw them to the ground and now we just click. Here our profiles are like this and with that we have already installed the profiles in place and now we can easily use them and this is how the final result looks like. Here are some more closeups like this and that brings me to the end of this. video Here again, many thanks to led mail.com who provided me with the material for this video.
