Mar 23, 2024

eyeliner

, so you probably know that I already have makeup on but something doesn't look right, does it look finished? And those are my eyes, so I have I wear shadow but I haven't applied

eyeliner

or mascara, so I'm going to show you a couple of options that we have when it comes to eyeliner with Mary Kay, so the first thing I'm going to show you is this new waterproof liquid eyeliner. pen, this is a newer product, this is our newest eyeliner product and I love this product so I want to demonstrate it to you today and show you how easy and simple it is to use.

I'll also show you this gel eyeliner that I don't use. I don't really talk about this very often, but it comes in this little bottle and it's a gel. I also love this product. It's actually very easy to use both, if you're not used to using them they probably sound a little intimidating, but I'm going to show you how easy they are to use. Another thing I'm going to demonstrate to you is something that you can do or not, but it's using an eyeshadow, so I have my palette here and I'm going to show it to you with this Kohl eyeshadow. which I'm going to use as eyeliner so I'm also going to show you how easy it is and then I'm going to stop the video and I'm going to take off the eyeliner and then I'm going to come back and show you the Mary Kay eyeliner pencil so we're going to get I started first with the newest product that he was telling me that we have is this waterproof eyeliner pencil, you're just going to take the cap off and if you look at this, it's like a felt tip pen, almost so it has a little bit of give to it and you literally go to draw it, it's very simple, but let me give you a trick, so a lot of times what I see is a woman who opens her eye and is trying to draw this perfectly straight line. the path and she's getting really frustrated because it's not perfectly straight, it's crooked, you know, it can be thicker in some areas, thinner in other areas and then when you're done you have this super thick line because you've been trying. to lighten it up and you know it's like oh man and then you feel like it's a fresh start or you just have this really, really thick eyeliner on so let me show you how easy it is and I'm going to get a little bit closer to the camera so ignore all my wrinkles and everything, but what you're going to do is start where your lashes start and get as close to your lash line as you can and you're going to watch, so do it.

You notice I'm making little short strokes. See how fine this line is? It's not thick. Now, a little trick if you're getting older and your eye starts to droop a little to one side instead of extending fully. I walk all the way because you're going to follow that line and it's going to fall, you want to stop with just a couple of short lashes, maybe about three short lashes, so again, okay, look how nice and defined it makes the eye be thin. line I didn't make a super thick line now, one thing that happens a lot of times is when we do that we end up with a gap between our eyelash liner if you're using mascara, that's pretty easy to fix. because you can use the mascara to build up the mascara at the bottom and I'll show you that, I mean, that will fill that in, but go back over it if you've noticed a little gap, just go back over it and you want to draw that product as close to the lash line, it's almost like you're trying to draw it on the lashes themselves, so you really want to get as close to that lash line as possible like now.

I'm going to give you another little trick as we get older we want to lift we want the makeup that we use to lift up so as we get older things start to go down a little bit and we don't want that we want to lift up so yeah Just outline the bottom of your eye and not the top, what will happen is the eye will be seen, something will look at you and look down, so when you draw your mess or your eyeliner right at the bottom, it will draw attention. down we don't want to draw attention up so if you're only going to line your eyes on one eyelid it should be the upper eyelid and again as we get older you might not even want to do it on the lower eyelid. lid I know I wear a little less makeup on the bottom as I get older because I don't want to draw attention to myself.

I want to keep everything lifted and youthful so I find myself doing more on the top than the bottom but this product is really great again, you can do a thin line, you can do a thick line and you can even do a sort of eye of cat. I will do it in another video. I'm not going to go over everything. That's today because I want to try to keep the video a little bit short for you guys, but I just want to show you how easy it is to use because, again, I think a lot of people will watch this and think, oh, that's intimidating.
Don't do that, it's very simple, very easy to understand that line, let me go over it one more time. I'm looking at my bigger mirror here because it's easier, sometimes I find it hard to look at the camera, okay, so just to recap. Don't try to draw a big straight line, make little short strokes and connect them well, so on the other eye I'm going to show you the gel eyeliner, so again it comes in this little pot, you're just going to take the cap. now you need a tool, it comes with a brush, it's a small retractable brush, it's quite small, I lost mine, I have no idea where it is, I tried to look for it, but I don't use it, use it anyway because I love using this brush that I have shown you in many of my videos.
This was in my eyebrow

tutorial

video. This is the double ended eyebrow liner brush. You can use it to do your eyebrows, but you can also use it to line your eyes. It's perfect with this gel, so you're just going to dip the brush into the gel and if you need to, you can remove a little bit of that excess by tapping the sides right there and then like the other one. I'm going to comment pretty close and I'm just going to place the product close to my lash line. This is very difficult to see with my camera.
You see? I'm doing the same technique. I'm not trying to draw a straight line. Now, the extra product that I put in here I need to pick up again, so I'm just tapping, tapping that product right along my lash line. See how easy it is to use this? And again, just a nice thin line. Don't make it too thick now, the applicator that comes with it is thinner if you use the tip and then you can lay it on its side and make a thick line, so if you like a really thick eyeliner, go for it and that tool. that comes with it is perfect for doing that because it's a synthetic fiber brush and it just glides the product on very easily so you can see even with the waterproof pencil or this gel eyeliner how natural it is so no No It has to be very dramatic.
Eyeliner is great for opening up the eye and really helps define that area, so I recommend using it again if you're going to use it, use it on top, don't worry. on the bottom now, if you want to use it on top and you want to put a little bit on the bottom, this is where I'm going to show you how to use an eye shadow, so I have this same brush. Eyeliner, eyebrow brush that I was using with the gel eyeliner and I'm going to apply it on my charcoal eyeshadow, which is black, I'm just going to tap it off to get the excess off and again I'm going to take it out. a little close, but I'm going to take this color and just like I did on the top lashes, I'm just doing little short strokes, now you'll notice on the top I start on the inside and worked on the bottom.
I'm going to start on the outside and work inward and another thing to notice is that I'm almost drawing this on the lashes themselves, you want to be very, very close to the lash line and another thing about the shadow is that it's very natural. See, you can do this even on the top lashes. I'm showing you. I'm trying to show you the

different

techniques with the

different

products

, but you can also use shadow on top, so another great tip I saw on another. In the YouTube video, she actually took and sprayed her brush with some finishing spray and wet the brush, wet the shadow and then helped it last longer and I was like, oh, that's a great trick, so I need to try it myself, I haven't done it yet, but go ahead and just dip the brush into your powder and just outline.
It

looks

so natural, don't you love it? Okay, so I'll come back and show you. You've got the pencil in a few moments, but let me take this off first, so I'll come back. Well, I'm back. I removed the black eyeliner that I had put on the waterproof pencil, gel eyeliner, and Kohl eyeshadow. I took everything. All of that is very, very simple, it only took me a few seconds. I use some free eye makeup remover on a Q-tip so I'm going to show you our eyeliner lash option and that's the Mary Kay eyeliner pencil so this is probably the most popular eyeliner that I sell so which I left it for last because I thought I could show you a lot of different features of this product and I'm actually going to line both eyes with it so you can see the final product.
I'm also going to put on mascara to finish it off so the first thing I want to show you is the container itself so this eyeliner actually has this little cap that comes off so if you have this product you might be wondering what it is. It's because every once in a while my little cap just pops off and if you didn't know that, you might be wondering: what is this? It

looks

very, very strange and has a bit of a funny shape, so this is a shaper, not a sharpener, we're not trying. You need to shave any part of the product off but it's a shaper so sometimes the eyeliner gets pointy and then when you use it it goes flat so let's look at mine which is exactly what happened to the mine, so if you look at mine. pushing it up and you can see it's kind of flat so what I can do is use this shaper and what you want to do is take the shaper and put it on top and you want to rotate the shaper. from one side to the other, not the pencil, what you want to do is turn the shaper from one side to the other and what happens is you see how it's starting to get a little pointy again, so that's what it's for, just shaping the product again at one point and after you do that, you really want to turn it down a little bit too because what happens is if you turn the pencil too high when you're going to use it, it's going to break, so you want to make sure you hold on to it. just a little bit sticks out so it lasts longer, okay, just like we did with the other

eyeliners

.
I'm not going to hold my eye and try to drive it, draw this perfectly straight line, it's one thing when you're pulling on your The skin around your eyes is like that because it's been very thin and as we get older we lose elasticity, so when you're constantly Pulling and pulling on your skin, there is no turning back. We were younger, so you want to keep the one you want. To try to avoid tugging and pulling on that skin, so I'm going to take this product, it's so creamy it's going to slide off, but I'm going to do little short strokes like I did with the other one, so let me move on. and I zoom in like before and I'm starting in the same place where the lashes start and I'm drawing little short strokes along the length and I don't know and you probably can't tell it very well in a video, but it's so creamy and it just glides on, like this which is very easy, now let me show you something else that you can do with it as we get older, like I said before, we start to have things like gravity takes over so we want to lift.
So there's another place you can put your eyeliner on your top lid that will give you a lift and I know if you've never done this before you'll think it's crazy, but you can actually line underneath. of your lashes is on your, it's called the waterline and it's called tight liner, so I really don't want to gross you out by lifting my eye. I'm going to raise my edges a little, but I don't want to gross you out. but there's this waterline under here and you can just draw the product right on that waterline and that will help lift it up, open your eyes and give you a more youthful look, so it may take a little practice, but that's an amazing way if you already look I don't even have mascara on look how much more lifted this is just with the eyeliner on top and that tight liner underneath so another amazing tool to use with this eyeliner pencil is this. smudge brush so this smudge brush has a tip on the end that is very dense so you can take and smudge that eyeliner and it will soften it so I'm going to demonstrate it to you right now so I'm going to Apply it.
I'm going to use the brush and just go right over the liner and again I made little mistakes where maybe the liner was thicker on one part and then on the other or I didn't connect it completely. This will help fix all those mistakes, so I'm just going to go in and smudge it back and forth and soften that up look, look at that, oh, how amazing. I love this. I always love to smudge my eyeliner afterwards. I use it, it's really cool, you can do that too on the partbottom, so let me go ahead and line the other eye, okay, and I think it's great.
I still need mascara, but I think it's great to stop there, you don't have to use it. eyeliner on the bottom, like I said before you can just do the top and leave it like that and I think this is great for a more natural everyday look. Look I think lining all the way around is great when you want a more natural look. dramatic, but you don't have to do it every day, so another tip. I don't know if you realize when I was applying this eye. I was actually looking. in my big mirror because it's easier for me and you know I had my eye closed and I raised my head a little bit.
The eyelid is starting to wrinkle a little, you know? So what happens if I try to do it? just apply it with my like straight, like this, close, I have a lot of wrinkles, so if I lift and tilt your chin a little bit, I'll get those wrinkles out if that makes sense, I hope that makes sense, but it does. this is how you apply the eyeliner again this is so smooth it's so creamy it just goes on it just glides on it's actually really easy to use and it comes in the dark brown that I showed you it comes in black and it comes in steel which is a gray color, so let me go ahead and put on some mascara and I'll show you the finished eye okay so I forgot to say it in the video but I'm using Mary Kay lash primer before I apply my mascara.
I used Mary Kate Ultimate mascara again, this gives it a lot of volume, well it's long so this is a great natural eye with eyeliner right on top so I think it's perfect for an everyday look. I really hope that these techniques and Learning about these new
