I didn't get in touch about the Badlands apex that failed, so when we were removing the stump, this is the winch I wanted. I was hoping it would work for us, but it didn't, so this is what it was. My dream winch here is 16.5 ti, so this is a big boy. Here we have the large 12 volt electric motor that is powered by a huge set of planetary gears. Just look at the size of this gear head, which is something else. there you don't know anything fancy, you know, just old school basics, keep it simple, keep it simple, make the principle work and that's what I like when it comes to winches.

Now you can get them with metal or synthetic cable. I chose the synthetic. It's a little more money, but it's a lot nicer to work with, but look, this is a big old thing. At 90 feet from the synthetic line, we have the synthetic cables right there, nicely polished and finished. It would be great to have them. that worn out logo there, you guys know it all, they gave us the nice forged hook, did you know that little detail at the end is a bottle opener? I just found out about it from watching another guy's YouTube video, here's our controller and now instead of the normal five pins we're all used to, there are six pins and I'm guessing that will power the thermal protection.

Now this is unique to this winch, it has a pre. a large, longer duty cycle, meaning it can run longer, but because it is so powerful and so large, they have built-in thermal protection, so this light is supposed to come on to let the user know that Hey, the engine is warming up. Be, let it cool and that's a good thing because other than putting your hand on it you wouldn't know and that's hard to do when they're hidden under the bumpers. What else do we have here? I thought it was a bit shabby. I think the roller fair cables are for wire, steel or cable, they are not suitable for synthetic. This bumper, if you're wondering, is a bumper. This is the access panel on the top of the bumper, so we'll remove this and this will give us the ability to plug in our remote and then change our clutch and also help with the rope feed.
