haircut

. It's Jamie Alexander's

haircut

from the

blind

spot

, real quick. I want to run through my thoughts on how we're going to make this cut, so let's get started. I started with that moment real quick, okay, so this is the breakdown of the haircut that I want to give you.

I want to show you because when you look at a magazine a lot of times it's hard to know what's going on with the haircut, so not only did I look at the cover of this magazine to base my thoughts on the haircut, but I also Googled it? I watched, I watched scenes from the show so I could see exactly what his hair did because if a guest asked me for this, he wouldn't do it. I don't want to say that I understand what is happening on the entire head, the other thing I look at is how the layers fall because this is a graduation but it also has a lot of layers within the haircut so let's look at the overall shape of the haircut . and how many layers are in it, I see layers up here, now I see layers up there, but it also has a little bit of a wave to it, which means that layer is probably a little bit below your parietal crest.

More Interesting Facts About,

jaimie alexander haircut tutorial from blind spot matt beck vlog 25...

I don't want to go too short with the layers, many of us could go crazy with a little layer and we don't want that to happen. When I go ahead and make my cuts, I'm going to base everything on this plane. Which might be a little hard for me to see, guys, so this shot here is where I'm separating the bottom of the head to the top of the head. I'm going to cut all this hair down at the top. down, so there's no lift cut right here at the chin line, it's going to let me choose the length of hair that I want while I work on the rest of the head once I get past that point and then I'm going to pluck this hair out.

I'm going to start my layering process which will come around the round of the head, so you'll see everything that's happening and then on the weak side, I'm going to start a vertical layer right at this point here, so I'm going to go up a long up to this point to get as much weight as I can in this area and then I'll start pulling the hair out and layering it at that point, okay guys I hope so. That makes sense. I hope I haven't completely confused everyone. The good thing is that we have a step by step to go through, so let's start with that.

Alright, guys, we'll start by taking a line to the left. This is a little above the parietal crest, but is still a deep part of the left side. You really base it on your guests, so know that in this haircut we are doing a celebrity based haircut, but that doesn't mean you will do this. exact haircut for your guests definitely personalize it for them so now I'm going to go over it and you'll notice that I cut that blunt line at zero degrees of elevation just using my tension comb and doing the same thing on the opposite side that I want.
To start building a nice heavy base, the best thing about cutting at zero degrees below the occipital bone is that it pretty much creates that 45 degree angle because of the shape of the head, so we're working on starting to build that base. I'm using the tip of my scissors. I decided to use the scissors instead of a razor on this cut, but I'm giving it a razor defect, so I'm going to go through the tip cutting each section using my DB 20 scissors. It's a five and a half inch scissors and it has a very strong blade, so I'm going to go over there and just work that jagged edge into the entire haircut.
I love this haircut because it has a PC texture, so I want to keep that. In mind, when I'm doing this haircut, not all haircuts have to have nice, blunt lines, so now you can see how I took that forward diagonal section or parting there and now I'm just going to cut again with a zero degree elevation without tension. Let the hair fall naturally and just work that line along the cheekbone and then just cut the hair as it falls. I want to cut this in a more square shape around the head so on the back I point it towards me and on the sides I keep the tv down cut my square horizontal line there now I'm switching to vertical sections the reason why I'm going to be vertical now because I want to focus on weight loss.
I want to create those layers right around the parietal crest. At the top of the section I just want to soften the way the hair falls, so if you look, if I were to cut that whole side section off, it would be too heavy, so I'm just rounding the edge and softening the weight. distribution on the side of the head so she has that layered feel. Now I'm going to work the other side working horizontally and you can really see the lift now and how high I'm lifting it, built in such a nice shape, so just the base. this about density guys don't look at the lift I'm doing and say that's exactly what I need to do look at the lift you need for your guests so if your guest has very thick hair you might have to lift a little more, take a little more of that weight off, it just depends on the shape you're trying to build in the back, continuing that diagonal section forward, just like I did on the opposite side, cutting off zero tension and just working E Cut with scissors, this is another preference, so if your guest wants the hair to go up towards the jaw, it can fit perfectly there, you can really customize where you want that link to sit, so work with that original pride by styling everything down without maintaining any elevation again.
I want to build a solid baseline, this is a key thing because a lot of it, if you notice how the hair works, it obviously falls more towards the nape of the neck, so it has a thicker density at the back of the head than at the nape of the neck. side of the head, so go over there cutting a blunter line on the side of the head and then go over now and overlap the round part of the head, so think of this as about 90 degrees, maybe a little lower towards the top. section, but we're only working on that part of the head because in the photos you see of Jamie's haircut I say Jamie like he knows her.
Jamie Alexander's haircut is that she has that kind of round layered feel throughout the haircut. So I really love the way those layers fall over the shape of his head, so I keep working diagonally back following the round of the head. We talked about the round haircut because this will help the hair flow back. There really isn't much direction to this. part of the cut, so I'm working up to the hairline, still cutting into the point, you'll notice I'm still trying to create that kind of jagged edge texture feel in the haircut, so let's move on. inside and create more texture in the dry cut, that's the last little bit, now don't worry about that disconnection in the front that's on purpose, so let's go in and cut that in a little bit, finish the blow dryer. my ergo paddle brush, which I love, it's talked about in every video, my straight iron vibrates by going through it and just polishing it, this is to prepare it for dry cutting, this is not to prepare it for the final result, now I'm going to enter. with my Mizutani type Z double texture scissors, this is the texture scissor that I keep in my case at all times because there is no full blade on this scissor, it's all teeth, so it glides well through the hair, there is no blade let it get tangled. up, what hair it cuts, it cuts and the hair that doesn't, there's nothing, there's no friction there so you can glide through the hair very well, so I really like that scissor and what I'm doing is just going through and smoothing the ends, so this is like a tip cut, but it's just an easy way to go in and soften the ends and not take off too much weight.
Now what I'm going to do is want to join them together. On this side, so we had more hair coming out, so I'm going to take my dual texture scissors and just cut it off and it doesn't take too long, but you just move the texture scissors back and forth until you're completely done. the hair, what that's going to do is give me that shredded edge instead of going through it and doing it with a blunt scissor. It's a great technique to try and it works really well and that's our finished cut so there's one thing missing which is definitely the hair. color, so I'm going to do it real quick and then I'll show you the final result.
Okay, so the hair colors are ready. I used ash three by three to give it that smoky feel. I think it goes really well with what Jamie Alexander's hair color looks like and gives you guys a clearer view of the end result, so I go ahead with my Paul Mitchell neuro wand and just work the hair around it and then take my Brocato carving texture cream, which I use on a lot of my shorter haircuts because it just adds the Compeyson texture and then we use a light hairspray just to give it that effect. Now this is a smoother effect.
Now I'm going to go in and do kind of a wet mess. look that she was in the magazine and tucking it behind her ear, that seems to be a pretty big trend for what she does when they style her hair, you can see it in the magazine here and that's our end result. They are quite similar. I know what you think in the comments and if you liked it, thank you. Alright guys, that's the end of this step by step. Thanks for putting up with the post in the comments.
