r's best friend, or at least one of them, these guys are just one inch square per inch, they are plastic on the front. and I'm not sure if the camera is capturing that, but there are holes around it so you can thread a zip tie, pipe cleaner, floral stems, whatever you want, through the mounting brackets to secure your sign or ornament down. on your wreath, then on the back you have a piece of really super sticky 3M tape, so you literally peel off the backing.

I normally use two mounting brackets for any type of sign and you just push those guys down onto your sign and then I like to run a quick bead of glue around the mounting bracket where it touches the sign just to give it extra strength and stability and now I just we'll set the sign aside to dry and that will be the The only time you need your glue gun so you can go ahead and unplug it, go ahead and cut the tag off the frame of your wire wreath and you've probably noticed before that in I actually grabbed two of each roll of

We have these three rolls of 6-inch decorative mesh. from the Dollar Tree and I'm just going to cut the edge of this blue one and it looks a little tattered here just to give it that clean cut, let's take a look at our other two rolls that look pretty good and they look pretty. Well, actually, if you're new to working with decorative mesh, decorative mesh loves to fray, so at any time you can create a wreath with minimal amounts of cuts that really reduce the fray and help preserve the longevity of your wreath and this particular bubble wreath has very I'm just going to pull out a handful of my zip ties and have them easily accessible and again you're going to use um I would say about 45 to 50 of these guys so you need a good amount on hand.
You can see that the decorative mesh likes to curl up on itself basically following the role of how it got to you and we're going to place the three colors on top. Either way, a solid white would have looked equally great with this wreath idea, but my particular Dollar Tree didn't have any available, so we're going to settle for marrying those ends together pretty nicely and just putting these guys on top of each other. from the other, so now stay with me guys, this is going somewhere nice, I promise, so once you have all three rolls on top of each other, just Squeeze and pinch that end together between your fingers until you have all that mesh decorative tightly together and have this tail from one inch to one and a half inches.
I'm just going to cut them out, so once you have that group, go ahead and grab your wire wreath frame and all of our decorative mesh. Here we'll focus on rings two and three, those two inner metal rings on your crown shape, and we want to start with a cross bar. because that's a good anchor so I'm going to run my 6 inch bridle here if you can see hopefully the camera is capturing it right in the gap so between rings two and three so I'm going to take my decorative mesh and place it right on top of that crossbar making sure to keep that inch or so of tail to take my zip tie and hold this guy down and because we've gone over that crossbar, it's actually going to anchor very well.
So you really want to get a good squeeze, another tool I forgot to mention before. You need a good pair of small scissors. If you don't have any in your stash to make

wreaths

, I'll leave a link to my favorite pair below. you can take some if you want, then you're going to cut off the excess flange and we're basically going to make seven bubbles per section and remember the section is from one cross bar to the next so what are you going to do? What you want to do is take your ruler and where your flange is you're going to measure 8 inches, okay, so me measuring 8 inches doesn't have to be perfect.
Then I'm going to squeeze and bring my fingers together. I'm going to go back to my wreath frame, we're going to take our flange and we're going to wrap it around rings two and three of the base of our wreath, those two inner rings we're going to start the flange right at that 8 on that We've measured, let's go to remove that decorative mesh so we can get it as close as possible to the most recent flange that we anchored it with and we're going to hold that guy tight to trim off our excess. of flange and we just made our first decorative mesh bubble so you can see it's tall, it's pretty thin and we've joined it together as best we can, they're going to slide a little bit, that's totally fine and we're going to do this over and over again and you want to add seven bubbles of decorative mesh to each section, so again we're going to measure up to that 8 on Mark and again, without looking for perfection, no one will measure your bubbles, squeeze and gather that in your Hand grab a flange that goes around rings two and three and add it right around where your 8 was on Mark, where your hand was squeezing almost all the way in to make sure my mesh isn't going anywhere and then I'm going to push this guy over and hold him, I'm going to take my scissors , I'm going to trim off that excess flange and we just added our second bubble, we're going to do this whole section together and then we're going to zoom in, remember we're.
If you are adding seven bubbles of decorative mesh per section, you may need to straighten the mesh a little from time to time, it just takes a little time, so again we are going to measure from our most recent flange up to 8 inches. squeeze it and put it together with our fingers, we're going to grab one of our zip ties and wrap it around rings two and three, those two center rings, we're going to hold them most of the way just making sure that our decorative mesh is all bunched up going in the right direction, let's approach that guy and gird him the rest of the way, we'll take our scissors and trim the tail of that bridle, now we've added three bubbles of decorative mesh, let's move. the next, I'll take my ruler, measure 8 scrunch, and gather this scrunch in my hands.
I'll grab it with one hand, grab a zip tie with the other, and wrap it around rings two and three on our decoration. times and I'm going to hold that guy most of the way, make sure our decorative mesh is going in the right direction, slide that bubble and hold it down the rest of the way, I'm going to grab my sniffers and trim the tail off of that bridle, now we've added four bubbles of decorative mesh and we're on bubble number five, we're going to measure 8. Ines, let me straighten out my mesh here, it's a little wavy, it's measuring 8 just to tighten and we put that mesh together in our hands, we make sure that mesh going in the right direction, we'll grab a bridle, run it around rings two and three, hold this guy most of the way, get him where he belongs, finish, finish girdling. down our bridle here grab our clippings and trim that tail we're in bubble number six folks it's only going to be 8 inches from the last squeeze of the bridle and put my fingers together grab a bridle as you get to the last . a couple of bubbles here, it's a little bit harder, give yourself some Grace, wrap that zip tie around rings two and three, those two middle rings, adjust that guy down most of the way, push that bubble in , close it down the rest of the way and trim the tail of that zip tie, okay folks, we're on bubble number seven, last bubble for this section, so I'm just going to measure 8 in a scrunch and gather them together with my fingers.
I'm going to grab a zip tie and put it through it. rings two and three right there in the center, those two center rings. I'll anchor it down most of the way, making sure the decorative mesh doesn't twist. I'll just straighten it out a little with my fingers and then I'll push it to the side, hold it the rest of the way and trim the tail. Then you can just go through and fluff it up a little. You know, if you have some space, you can take them out. a little bit perfect, so we added our first section of uh 8 in decorative mesh bubbles and we'll continue this process around our wire wreath frame at some point, probably halfway through, maybe a little bit beyond.
You need to go ahead and take out your second rolls of decorative mesh. You're just going to follow the same method we used when we started here and secure it with a one inch tail, so go ahead and fill out the rest of your wire wreath frame with you're 8 in bubbles, seven per section and I'll see you here alright folks . I've completely loaded this wreath base with all of these super cute bubbles and now I'm just going to cut out this last little piece of mesh, leaving about an inch or so of tail, just be very careful when cutting out your friends, you don't want to accidentally cut one off. of your bubbles, here we go, so this is all I had left, ironically I only had a small hint of both reds, excuse me. blue and red, white and blue and no white.
I'm not quite sure how that happened, but anyway here we have it, so the back of your wreath should look like this, pretty clean and the front of your wreath full. From all these super cute bubbles, now let me have a little moment of full disclosure, folks, which I usually don't use in a Dollar Tree mesh tutorial because, as I'm sure you discovered when you were making this, there's a lot of string and a lot of fraying. . uh, it's a little sloppy and unprofessional and that's why I almost always choose to use a much higher quality decorative mesh, but since this wreath didn't involve any cutting other than our ends, I thought it would be safe to try and so far I'm pleased with this and now that we've loaded our wire frame with bubbles it's time to fluff the bubbles and let me show you what fluffing the bubbles means you're going to start at any bubble at this point there's no top or bottom of its crown and let's go to separate this mees M, so now the three layers of your decorative mesh are placed on top of each other and they are together to give you this bubble method and we are just going to separate them and we have three layers there and we are separating the three layers and I want to go back and forth, so since I pulled the blue out on this bubble on the next one, I'm just going to pull it in and you're basically pulling on your decorative mesh without really any Rhyme or Reason other than you don't want to. follow the same pattern twice, so let's work our way through this wreath with the decorative mesh bubble method, separating those bubbles by simply pulling them and they don't have to be 100% apart, however you want to do it, it's your wreath , just don't follow the same

step

s. each time because you really want to give a lot of variety, so go ahead and separate all your bubbles one by one, working your way through your crown here and then I'll meet you here, okay friends, we've fluffed all of our Bubbles and look how cute this is.
You know, I keep looking at this and I'm honestly surprised it turned out so cute. If you find stowaway threads from your of the month, go ahead and trim them and our next

step

. is to add our decorative sign at this point, it's nice and dry and you can attach this guy with some extra long zip ties, some Chanel pipe cleaners or stems or some floral wire. I always like to use floral wire stems to attach my signs. and with my heavier ornaments, I feel like they are easier to work with if you are new to wreath making, you will definitely want to add some floral wire stems to your wreath stash, friends, they are great for adding pieces to your decor. mesh because they stick out.
In fact I will leave a link for these below if you want to grab some and add them to your stash for making wreaths they are very cost effective and these guys are 18 inches long and are a heavier gauge so they are nice and sturdy and I just fold it in half loosely just to find the center V point that tells me where the center of that floral wire is and I run it through my holder and then I justgiving it a couple of loose turns so it doesn't twist and slide, then we'll do the same thing to add our second V-bend to find that center, running it through my mounting bracket and giving it a couple of loose turns. twists, of course you can add your sign depending on what you are wearing any part of your crown you would like.
In fact, I'm going to add my sign right in the middle. I think it would be perfect, so you're going to do everything one at a time here or back and forth. One moment I should say is to just take those floral wires and stick them through the mesh. I'm going to go ahead and separate a bubble. I'm with my fingers trying to find an area next to a crossbar just for this top piece. To prevent it from slipping, give it a little. Grace takes a little time once my wires are through. I'm just going to make sure that sign is where I want it to be and then I'm going to hold it up. in place with my hands and then I'll take those wire floral stems and wrap them around that crossbar giving them two or three tight twists with about 80% tension, then I'll trim those ends with my wire scissors and curl them.
Reattach them with a pair of needle nose pliers, we'll follow the same method for the bottom bracket and look how nice it turned out. We've made this whole beauty for exactly $10 now, that doesn't include your taxes or the cost, um. for your zip ties, so at this point it's super cute as is, but of course, you know me, I'd like to add a bougie bow, so bear with me for a second while I make a super quick and easy bow to add. A little extra touch and we'll see you here. I just set up a quick hand bow here.
If you are new to making wreaths or bows and would like a step by step tutorial, I will leave a couple of links below in the description. from this video that will give you a step by step guide when it comes to making a bow, so I'm just going to add this here in the corner. I'm using floral wire stems to secure this guy. like we did before and I'm going to wrap it right around the corner here, we're going to make sure it's nice and tight so it doesn't go anywhere and then I'm going to take my scissors and trim it out. excess floral wire and we'll throw those guys away.
I'm going to take my needle nose pliers again, bring those ends together and roll them back into the wreath so it doesn't poke us or our client and I'm going to take a couple of minutes here and just fluff my bun. I have four loops of this 2 and 1/2 inch ribbon with those adorable super cute sparkly stars and then I only have two loops of our red and white star, so I'm going to make the 2 and 1/2 inches into a wide X like you can see here and then I'm just going to run the red and the white one and a half inches straight or should I say diagonally since we're here in the corner and I'm going to join them together to match our sign of course you can also cut in angle.
We're definitely getting our

patriotic

vibe here. You can also grab some tape from the Dollar Tree. This is something I just had. at my stash we made this entire wreath for exactly $10 which doesn't include the ribbon and ties, but with the ribbon and ties you're probably still not looking at more than $15 so this is a super cute and easy

patriotic

wreath. What you can do, it's very economical. I hope you enjoyed this tutorial and spent some time creating with me today. Friends, if you did, please like this video. Help my little channel grow. If you are new to the channel, press. that subscribe button we're happy to have you in our creative community thanks guys happy crafting guys I'm Nikki here at stillwaters wreath designs and today I'm going to show you a super easy way to make a stunning wreath with just one roll. of 10 inch decorative mesh, you will find a full list of materials below in the description of this video so you can recreate this beauty, of course you will also find the Etsy link if you would prefer to simply purchase.
Today's design is okay, let's dive in, we will use this 10 inch diameter patriotic welcome sign, four different types of wired ribbon, a single roll of 10 inch poly jute mesh and a working wreath, okay guys, so if you are new to making this wreath. it's what's called a working wreath shape, it's 15 inches in diameter, it's got two tiers, the top and the bottom, and then all of these are what we call loops on the working wreath frame, you're going to want to take those loops from lower level and point them outwards. like a sun so at this point your wreath doesn't have a top or bottom, we're going to start at any lower level set of bows, you'll have your mesh in front of you so that it's curly side down and to At the single roll method today, we're going to do the poof and curl method, so I have about 12 to 18 inches spread out here so I can work with the mesh and the first thing we need to do is anchor the mesh into our base. the crown starts at any lower level binding set and all I'm going to do here guys is place my hands on the edge of our mesh.
I'm going to press down with my thumbs to keep the meshes stationary and then with my other eight fingers, I'm just going to bring that mesh back to my hand like this, so once you have that decorative mesh tail, go ahead and open any of the lower level binding sets into a wide V and then tuck that tail in. back and under and what that does is hide the raw edge of your mesh if you're new to working with decorative mesh. Decorative mesh loves to fray, so anything we can do as makers to help reduce that fraying is ideal, so we're going to take that tail, run it down the middle of those loops to the base of the V and give it two tight twists and then we'll point those loops outward one more time and just anchor them down. decorative mesh you can see I have a self-healing mat in the background.
I'm going to use it to measure my mesh if you don't have a self healing mat just grab a ruler we're going to make 10 in bean bags and that's why I have my tie at the 14 inch mark so I need to go out to the 24 inch mark to create that bean bag 10 inch once you've identified that 10 inch mark that you're just going to scrunch up and gather your mesh in your hand just like we did before, pinching together, let's move on to the next set of lower level ties, take that pinch of mesh and lay it down to the base of the V of those ties and give those ties. a couple of tight twists and point them out, we just added our first 10 inch bean bag, let's make one more together and then we'll speed up so you identify that 10 10 inch Mark, tighten and gather your mesh all the way. next set of lower level ties open them up into a wide V take that mesh and run it up to the base of that rate and give your ties a couple of tight twists we just added our second 10 inch beanbag go ahead and add 10 inches extends around the bottom level of your working crown shape and see you here, so it's time to add our last bottom level and we'll add it right above where we anchored our mesh.
From the beginning, so we're going to follow the same pattern we've been doing in every way, we're going to gently untie those restraints and that mesh has a memory, so it's not going anywhere. Place that mesh pinch from your last bean bag up to the base and give it a couple of tight twists, so we just added our last lower level bean bag. Now it's time to jump our mesh to the top level to repeat the same process first. We're going to point those loops toward the center of our wreath frame and we're going to jump our mesh to the closest set of loops at that top level.
We're not going to poof here guys, we're just going to throw. that tight mesh, we will go after that set of ties. I'll zoom in here for you. We're going to put that mesh that we just jumped up to the top level to the base of those ties and we're going to give it a couple of tight twists so you can see. I just jumped that mesh cleanly from the bottom level to the top. I went in behind that set of ties and anchored them to the base and now I can continue adding poufs to the frame of our wreath.
The only difference between the top tier and the bottom tier is that the beanbags will be 8 in beanbags for our top tier, not 10, that just allows those beanbags to move back a little so you can still see the bottom tier of your wreath frame, but otherwise. You're going to follow the same pattern, you're going to identify that 8 on the Mark scrunch and you're going to gather that scrunch by just doing this on my hand here so you can see how we anchor down, open up the next set of ties into a V shaped place that meshes all the way to the end. . the base and you guessed it, give it a couple of tight turns to secure it and point those guys in.
We just added our first top level. Go ahead and add 8 inch poufs around that top level of your wreath and I. See you here, okay, it's time to add our last pouf to the base of our wreath, so I identified that 8 in Mark. I'm pinching and gathering that mesh and we're going to add it right above where we jumped our mesh from the bottom level to the top, so again carefully unscrew those ties, open those ties into a V shape, grab a pinch of mesh for your last pouf here and place it down to the center of those ties and give them a tight twist and We just added our last top tier, so now we need to trim the rest of the roll of mesh, so I'm going to zoom in and show you how I do it.
I simply place my hand between the remaining roll. mesh and the neighboring bean bag and I only do that so that my hands serve as a kind of guard to make sure I don't cut anything I shouldn't. I'm going to get about an inch closer to that last set. of bows and cut out that mesh, so this is what our base looks like at this point, we've added all of our poufs and now it's time to cut the rest of our decorative mesh roll into curls for the next step. I'll use the self healing mat and the Ro rot cutter if you don't have those items guys don't worry just grab a ruler and a good pair of scissors but let me show you if you're new to wreath making what a rotary cutter is.
It basically looks like a mini pizza cutter and allows you to cut the mesh with nice, clean lines and quickly, and then the self-healing mat that you see here in the background has both vertical and horizontal measurements so you can easily measure your I'll be sure to leave a link for both items below in the description of this video so you can add them to your toolbox if needed, so what I'm going to do is just crop this mesh. that we have a clean line here and we're going to cut all the rest of our roll into 8 pieces, so I'm just going to measure the 8 mark on my self healing mat and cut, so go ahead. and cut the rest of your roll into 8 pieces and then I'll meet you here once you've cut the rest of your roll into 8 pieces, we'll go ahead and add curls to our crown base. and to add curls, guys, you'll simply take a single piece of decorative mesh that you just cut, place it on your workstation with the curled side up, and simply roll it into a cylindrical tube or as we say in The Wreath Makes a Curl , so it should look like this, about an inch to an inch and a half in diameter here in the center and then of course it widens out at the ends and we're going to add a curl to each set of bows. on our wreath base, so to add a curl, you're just going to reach out to any set of bows, take that curl and place it in the center of the V of those bows all the way to the base, give those bows a couple of tight twists. and you just added your first curl, let's make one more together and then we'll speed up so you grab your piece of decorative mesh, bring it to your work area with the curled side up, roll that guy up into a cylindrical tube, reach for any set of loops on the face of your crown, open those loops into a wide V that curves down to the base and give those loops a couple of tight twists, let's go ahead and add our curls to our crown and see you around.
Back here, okay, we just finished adding the curls and look how stinking cute the base of this wreath is. What I love about the single roll of mesh method is that it doesn't leave you with questionable rolls of mesh, you know exactly. what you need to complete the design and look how cute it is so this is the poof and curl method. The next step is to add the ribbon tails, so let me set this aside and grab my ribbon. So today we go. To use four different types of wired tape, you can use as many or as few as you like, just make sure the tape you choose is wired.
I'm going to use two different types of 2 and 1/2 inch ribbon and two different 1 and 1/2 inch types of ribbon and remember we have 18 sets of bows on our wreath frame. Now we're going to reserve one set of bows on the top level for one bow, so we'll only need 17 sets of ribbon tails. for our wreath and I'm going to alternate between two combinations, we'll use these two ribbons together as a pair and these two, forwhich we will need eight sets of tails from one combination and nine sets of tails from the other. combination in any order you prefer, let me show you a quick way to measure your Ribbon Tails.
Guys, there are a lot of tools you can buy like slat boards and things like that, but you can also do a quick measurement so that everything Yes, I'm going to use my self-healing mat here, of course, you can use your ruler if you don't have a self-healing mat. We want our tails to be 11 inches long, so I'm going to identify those 11 inches. Mark, mark that with my finger and don't look for perfection, here guys, no one is going to measure and then I'm going to fold this ribbon accordion style to get the total number of pieces that I need.
We will make nine of this set, so there are two. three four 5 6 7 8 and nine once you have that total number of tails folded according to the style, simply cut the rest of the roll of ribbon now we are going to take our scissors and separate those tails, we will twist that stack of ribbons and do the same on the opposite end and I'm just going to layer them so they're right side up and then in groups of three, I'm going to trim my ends. I'm only going to take three pieces. I'm going to make sure those ends are securely attached for this particular wreath.
Guys, we're just going to do ribbon tail ends trimmed at an angle, so here I go. down about 3/4 inch and cutting diagonally to the corner we will flip that stack of ribbons now make sure you know the strength of your scissors cut as many as your scissors can comfortably do and go down 3/4 inch inch and cut it into diagonal, so we just trimmed our ends. I'm going to put them aside. We are going to repeat this pattern for all types of tape. Remember that you will need nine sets of one-tails. combination of ribbons and eight of the other and your Ribbon Tails should be about 11 inches long, so go ahead and prepare your Ribbon Tails and then I'll meet you here once you have your Ribbon Tails ready to go.
Go ahead and slide them to the side, grab the wreath frame and we'll start loading our ribbon tails. We will add two strips of ribbon to each set of bows across the entire wreath frame, with the exception of one top tier. set of ties we'll reserve for a bow at this point guys your crown doesn't have a top or bottom so you can start anywhere and let me show you how we're going to add them. We'll do two meetings and then Accelerate Forward. I'm going to go back and forth between my two tape combinations, so I'm literally going to take my 1 and 1/2 inch strip of tape, place it right on top of the 2 and 1/2 inch. you're going to look at the eyeball to find the center, you can measure it or you can just fold it in half to identify that center point and then you just pinch it right there in the center.
I pull it in a V shape over my thumb. you're going to get to any set of bows on your wreath frame, open those bows into a V shape and place the ribbon tails all the way to the base and give those bows two or three super tight twists once you've added those tails . Go ahead and cut off the leftover pieces of your ties, we won't be using them anymore and throw them away. I just take my fingers and twist those ties back and down and then fluff the tails of the ribbon and for a fluff, guys.
All I'm really doing is getting them out, moving them away from the center of our wreath, so let's do one more together and then we'll go full speed ahead. I grabbed my two strips of tape. I'm going to place 1 and 1. Strip /2 inch tape just above 2 and 1/2. I'll fold them in half to find the center. I'm going to pinch it in the middle and fold it into a loose V over my thumb. I'm going to go to the next set of ties and I'm going to open them up into a V shape and I'm going to put those ribbon tails all the way down the center of that V to the base, I'm going to give those ties two or three turns tight and I'll trim off the excess ties.
I'm just using my little scraps. Here guys, I'll leave a link for the ones below. If they need to add them to their toolbox, then I'll just save the remaining tie pieces. underneath and fluff or straighten my tails just like that. I'm going to repeat this pattern across my entire wreath reserving one set of bows on the top tier for our bow, so let's go ahead and add our ribbon tails and See you guys here, we've got all of our tails added to our wreath and look how cute and stinky this beauty is turning out, so at this point our W is about 26 inches in diameter and probably 8 or so. in depth at its widest point so now we're going to add our sign to our crown so this is the sign we're going to use and I'm not sure if the camera is capturing it or not but it's basically a dense weather resistant foam weather, if the sign you are using is wood, I would recommend using mounting brackets.
I'll leave a link for the ones below so you can easily attach your sign, but since this is a foam sign, I'm going to use two stems of 20 gauge floral wire and my small jewelry punch to attach this guy. Remember we've left a set of loops open here at the top to hold our loop, so our loop is here and then it flows down a little bit and I would like my sign to be on the opposite side at a little angle, so I'm going to take my whole hit, go in about a half inch and just hit it and that's going to create a nice clean hole. just look at where I want them, this is a very useful tool guys, so I'm going to take my floral wire stem and bend it in half just to identify the center point.
I'm going to pass it right on. I know it's green, but I promise it won't look offensive. I'm going to pull that back hard and just twist it a couple of times so it doesn't come apart and then we'll do the same thing on that bottom level hole. which we added to our sign, so now I'm going to run this through my wreath, through the mesh, give yourself some Grace, guys. I'm going to give those floral wire stems two or three more twists just to make sure The Boy is nice and anchored, then I'm going to use my little scissors to trim those leftover pieces of floral wire and throw them away and take my bow pliers and I'll just bring those ends together and curl them.
Put them back on the wreath that way if someone grabs the wreath right there they won't be perfect so take a second here and any of those tails that might have gotten underneath or curls just go ahead and pull them back so they can look underneath, that looks so cute, okay, let's move on to making our bow, so I'm just going to grab a pipe cleaner, fold that guy into a loose fee and place it on the side of my SC. SC and the four types of ribbons that we use for our tails and I'm going to make a quick hand bow.
I'm going to speed up this process here guys, but I'll leave you a bow tutorial below in the description of this video, so if you need help making your bows, you can check out those quick

tutorials

, so I'll just take a second and get all of them out. those tails in One Direction, but we won't worry about those curls or sponges. take them out until we've added this to our wreath, so I'm going to bring my wreath back to my work area. We're going to use those ties that we've set aside to anchor this stack of bows, so I just opened up.
I'm going to place that stack of bows right in the center and use those bows to anchor them down and then just roll those parts out of the way if your bows are long, just go ahead and trim them. Take them off and now we're going to take a couple of minutes to fluff our bow, so all I'm going to do is start from the back, extend those loops and open them up. B fluffing is something you should give to yourself. Getting good with kids takes a little time. I always start at the back or bottom and work my way up, but you can certainly fluff your bow however you want.
I have six loops total of 2 and 1/2 in tape. and five of the 1 and 1/2 inch tape. I'm going to take my scissors and angle trim the ends of my ribbon. Tails. I know they are long Tails, but we are going to curl them in just a minute when When trimming the tails from the ribbon, I always like to warn you to trim them carefully, you can always remove more, but you can't put them back on once you have them trimmed, so cut carefully now I'm just going to grab. a cardboard insert, this is actually the center of the roll of decorative mesh that we just used to make this wreath.
I always have one in my toolbox because it's the perfect tool for curling your ribbon and curling your Ribbon Tails, guys, whatever you're doing. What you do is start at the bottom of the cardboard insert and roll the rib tail up to the center of the bun and release it, and you'll have this cute little curl. If the curls are too tight, you can pull it and that's it. I'll relax it a little bit if it's too loose, just Rec curl. I'm going to take a couple of minutes and curl all my tails here, how nice and stinky, okay, I'm going to go back in and fluff those bow curls one more time.
It's time just to make sure everyone's paying attention how cute is this guys oh my gosh adorable okay we only have one more step left so go ahead and plug in your hot glue gun let's add just a little bit . a little greenery on our wreath just to give it a little freshness, let me set this aside and I'll show you what we're going to use, so we're going to use this Greenery Vine from Hobby Lobby if you're new. For you wreath makers, you'll soon learn that flowers will always be at the top of your spending list when doing readings, so I'll let you know that Hobby Lobby has their flowers on sale for 40% off every two weeks, so that they take into account. those sales when you're grabbing your flowers, I lean on this shrub most often when I add some greenery in my mesh wreaths because this really gives a great pop of color, it's a very hardy vine and it's the climate. resistant and we're going to add some greenery to each space where we had a bow on the wreath, okay, let's glue these on, so we're just going to take some greenery and run a dot of hot glue down. that stem and add it to each place on our wreath that ever had a set of ties, you can use your scissors or something to poke, in the little bits of material from those leftover ties are great for anchoring, we're just going to add a little bit of greenery in every space and this beauty is finished oh my goodness okay let's move on to our next design welcome to Still Wat wreath designs crafty friends if you enjoy all things wreaths be sure to hit the subscribe button and we will be. we're going to add three pipe cleaners per section, we're going to start with the intersection, so if we take a look at these Rings friends and say this is ring one, ring two, ring three, and ring four, you're going to focus on first. inside. two rings, uh, rings one and two, and all you're going to do is add a pipe cleaner around round rings one and two in the center of each section, so you're just going to wrap it around rings one and two, give him a pair. of tight turns and then aim those guys toward the inside of your wire frame.
Once you have added the six pipe cleaners to the inner area of your wire wreath frame, it is time to add the pipe cleaners to the outer ring and we are done. We'll do the exact same thing, though, we'll add two per section around the entire wire wreath frame and you'll just take the pipe cleaner and wrap it around rings three and four, and tighten them a couple of times. Turn and this time point them outwards, so you're just going to center them as best you can, leaving about an inch and a half to 2 inches between the cross bar and the number one Chanel stem and then a couple of inches between your two pipe cleaners and then also that last cross and you're going to follow the same recipe every way folks so we added 18 pipe cleaners to the 14 inch wire wreath frame and now what we're going to do is go ahead and take your glue gun and around the wreath frame, where the pipe cleaner attaches to the wreath frame, you're just going to give it a small bead of glue so it goes right over the top of your wreath.
Stem Chanel or your pipe cleaner and onto your wreath frame, once you've run all the glue drops along those pipe cleaners, go ahead and set your working wreath frame aside so the glue has a little time to dry and we will begin to prepare our decorative mesh. Alright folks, we're going to be using three different types of 10-inch decorative mesh, so grab your self-healing mat and your rotary cutters or a tape measure and scissors if you don't have the rotary cutter. and a self-healing mat and we are going to cut 18 inch pieces of this striped mesh for the cruffle to make it an easy way to remember friends, you have 18 pipe cleaners in the frame of your wreath, so you need 18 pieces that are 18 inches long, We're just going to roll this out and cut it to 18 inches long and 18 pieces, so go ahead and cut your 18 pieces and I'll meet you here now that you have your 18 pieces of 18 inch decorative mesh. cut and ready to load, go ahead and grab a chip clip or abinder clip, even a clothespin is fine, as you can see here, and the frame of your working wreath should already be very dry and ready for you to start loading and we.
We're going to add a gather of our red, white, and blue decorative mesh to each pipe cleaner and to make a gather that your decorative mesh likes to wrap around itself and we're going to follow that natural flow, folks, and the reason why Really I prefer gathers because decorative mesh loves to fray and a gather really helps prevent it from fraying, so what you're going to do is take the end of your first piece of decorative mesh and roll it around itself two or three times. basically. what you're doing is tucking those ends in so they're very little exposed and they don't fray and then turn it over and then on the other end give it a couple of turns and then take your fingers and squeeze and pinch together until it reaches the end of your decorative mesh, then you can remove the clip and pinch it in the middle and what you have here is what we call a ruching and what it really means is that there is a curl at each end and a ruffle. in the middle, hence the gather, and you can place the gather on any pipe cleaners, it doesn't matter if you start at the top or bottom keeping that pinch between your fingers, add that gather on your first set of pipe cleaners, just open them wide place a V that wrinkles all the way down. in the center of that V and give it a couple of tight twists and you've just added your first gather, let's do one more together and then we'll speed up this process so again take the decorative mesh fold in one end, two or three. times to really save those ends and avoid The Fray, turn it over, fold it a couple of times on the other end, take your fingers and squeeze and pinch together, squeeze and pinch until you get to the other side, pinch it with your fingers. move on to the next set of pipe cleaners, open them up forming a white V that wrinkles to the center at the base and give it a couple of tight twists that we are going to repeat, repeat the same step until the end. around until you've added a crinkle to the inner and outer rings, all of your pipe cleaners should have a crinkle and then I'll see you here okay folks we just added our 18 pieces of 18 inch decorative mesh.
To our wreath frame we have added a ruffle on each set of Chanel pipe cleaners or stems, so your wreath should look like this, so the next step is our next layer of decorative mesh. This looks great, but is still quite lightweight. and Airy, so we want to give it a little more depth and dimension with more decorative mesh, so go ahead and set your wreath to the side and we're going to grab the other two colors of decorative mesh that we have here. Um, so we're going to use this pretty red and this metallic blue to make curls to add to our wreath and we're going to add one curl per set of Chanel pipe cleaners or stems and since we have 18 ties. our wreath frame we will make nine of each and we will make them into 10 inch cuts, grab your scissors and ruler or your self healing mat and rotary cutter and we are going to cut nine pieces of each color at 10 inches long, so go ahead and cut yourself the curls and see you here now that you have 18 10 inch curl pieces of decorative mesh cut out nine of each color, let's go ahead and add them to our wreath. so go ahead and take your wreath back to your work area and let me show you how we make a curl super easy and it really helps give your decorative mesh wreath a lot of extra depth and dimension so go ahead and grab one of your 10. -in pieces here and as you can see again, it likes to curl up on itself, so with the curly side up, you're just going to start at one end and curl the entire wreath or roll, excuse me, curl the entire piece of mesh decorative. all the way until you have this little tube here and it's probably an inch in diameter here within reach of my fingers, probably 2 inches on the ends because it sticks out a little bit and all you're going to do is pinch that. curl right in the middle with your fingers and then as you go into the crown you will go to any set of Chanel stems and with the seam facing down your curl, press down to the center of the Chanel stem or pipe cleaner and give it a couple of tight twists and you just added your first curl and since we're using two colors, I'm going to go back and forth between the two colors, so I'm going to take my blue and let it sit. on the mat here it curves up and at one end I'm going to start rolling this into a cylindrical tube, pinch it in the middle and move on to my next set of pipe cleaners seam side down. curl right in the middle, I'm going to press it down to the base of this V of the Chanel stem here and give it a couple of tight twists.
You will do this around your entire crown of friends. on both the lower and upper levels so that each stem or Chanel pipe cleaner has a curl. I prefer to alternate back and forth with my colors. You can certainly load your curls however you want. It's your crown so let's go ahead and get our curls loaded and I'll see you here again alright folks we've got all of our curls added to our crown just look at how much more depth and dimension this beauty has with all those extra curls it really does. They look super patriotic and I'm I already love this so the next step for us is to make a bun so go ahead and set your wreath to the side and grab the wired ribbon of your choice.
You can choose to use the same tape. You can use several different types, like I'm doing here, it doesn't matter how many or how little you use, just make sure whatever tape you're using is wired. I'm just going to make a quick and simple hand bow. I'll probably move through this bow making pretty quickly, if you're new to bow making or still having trouble with bow making, I'll leave you a couple of

tutorials

below in the description of this video that will give you a couple of tutorials that are slow moving and with more steps. -step by step Pace to help you with your bow, making most people fluff their bows before adding them to their wreaths.
I'm a bit backwards when it comes to that, I usually don't fluff them until I've added them. but you can certainly do what you want. I'm just going to make sure all my queues are going in the right direction. At this point, folks, your wreath really has no top or bottom, so you'll need to think about where you want to place your ornaments or your sign or your Ribbon Tails, whatever you're going to do, for my purposes, of done I'm going to add my bow to the top area here and then I've got this cute sign that I also got from the Dollar Tree.
I'm going to be hanging here and then I'm going to throw in some ribbon tails so you can understand the method behind my madness, so let's go ahead and add our bow on any of these tops. Remember that we still have our pipe cleaners and our Chanel stems, so any of these tops go wherever you want the bow to go. stick them in with one of your sets of pipe cleaners here, now you don't want to press it down too much because you don't want your Bowa to disappear and sink, give it two or three tight twists and then just take your scissors and trim off the excess pipe cleaners in there because you've already Done with that and then take that little piece of pipe cleaner and just roll it down and out of the way, feel free to fluff your bow if you want.
I'm going to wait a little bit, so when I add this sign, guys, I don't really like the top of this sign. I really like that truck so if they are going to trim this like me. "I'm going to want some wire cutters. Most of the stuff at the Dollar Tree cuts pretty easily, honestly, so I'm literally cutting that chain and taking down that sign right away, so now we just have the truck here and I think ". We're going to add this next, so now we can put this truck to the side and we'll attach it as part of our last steps here, but first we need to add some ribbon tails, so remember we have 18 pipe cleaners. stems here and we've used two of them because we placed the bow in one area and then we have the Waterfall attached to another, which leaves us with 16 bows available, so place your wreath to the side.
We're going to add the 1 and 1/2 inch ribbons to the top row of Chanel stems and the 2 and 1/2 inch ribbon to the bottom and since this is so colorful, we're just going to add one ribbon tail per every Chanel. so we're going to add a 2 and 1/2 inch piece of tape to each set of pipe cleaners on the bottom tier. We'll use the wider one on the bottom level just to give it more depth and dimension. There are 10 sets of pipe cleaners and we have two types of tape so we need five of each so I'm going to cut them to 10 inches and all I'm going to do is measure my tape up to the 10 inch mark and then I'm going to fold it over itself until it has five pieces, so there's one, two, I'm zigzagging three, four and five, so I've zigzagged back and forth, let me show you why, so now immediately we have five pieces.
They're still attached, but once we trim those ends, they'll separate, separate, and the ends will be trimmed in the same step. I think I'm just going to cut them at an angle, so I'm just going to take my scissors to the side and go down about 3/4 inch and then cut diagonally to that corner. I'm going to turn it around and do the exact same thing because it's an accordion, your angles won. They're not going to go in the same direction, they're going to move back and forth, but I think that's okay with this wreath, so now we have all of our pieces cut out and ready to go, so we're going to do the exact same thing.
Same with our navy and white striped ribbon. Let's go ahead and add that bottom level and then we'll go back to the top level. Let's make sure that one ribbon will be enough to add your ribbon tails on friends. you're going to add a ribbon to each set of pipe cleaners on that bottom level, you're just going to find the center, either by eyeballing it or by folding it in half, giving it a pinch and then that fold will help you identify that center and then we're just going to pinch and gather right there in the center so that it looks like a man's bow tie.
Fold it over your thumb or finger. Find any set of lower level pipe cleaners. Add that middle part of your ribbon down to the base. of that set of pipe cleaners, give it two or three tight twists and then fluff the tail of the tape and by fluff rinses, I just mean point it in the right direction and make sure it's not wound up in any way normally at this point If you've read with me before, I'd tell you to trim your pipe cleaners, but I want to make sure we're happy with only having one ribbon tail per set of pipe cleaners, so let's add a couple more to make I'm sure we think we've taken a good decision here, so again I just found the center.
I just marked it, pinched it and pleated it in the middle, folded it over my thumb to form that soft V. I go to the next set. of pipe cleaners adding it up to the center and giving it two or three tight twists to really hold that tail in there and then I'm going to fluff my tail just making sure it's pointing in the direction that I want. To point out I already feel like I'm going to be happy with just one tail but let's add one more just to be safe, yeah I think I'm totally happy with that folks, I'm just going to add one tail.
So I'm going to have Gra take my Snips here, go back to where I started and just trim off the excess pipe cleaners and then if you have a little bit of Nu or whatever, just point it back. So we go ahead on this lower level each time you add your tail and twist it, so go ahead and trim the edge of your pipe cleaner, okay friends, let's add a ribbon tail to each set of pipe cleaners along this lower level and then see you. Back here, we've now added a tail to each pipe cleaner on the bottom tier using that 2 and 1/2 inch tape.
Each tail was cut to 10 inches long and then trimmed at an angle on each end. Let's do the same. Exactly the same for our top tier of Chanel stems, friends, only we'll use our 1 and 1/2 inch ribbon. We will need five ribbon tails total for the top tier using our 1 and 1/2 inch wide ribbon cut. at 10 inches long and angled trim those ends once you've cut the ribbon tails go ahead and add them to your top tier and trim those pipe cleaner ends guys that's cute coming out so let's go ahead and fluff our bang. We're going to make this the rough fluff or the first loop and to fluff your bow, you're just going to take your loops, put your hands right in the middle of those loops and fluff them to make them three dimensional and remember.
We use white tape, so they will go where you tell them to go. Now I'm going to trim my tails, so last but not least we have our little patriotic truck. I think I'm going to place it. right here and I'm literally going to cover that with glue and press it down. I think it will hold up well, so I hope your glue gun is still nice and hot, so you'll just squeeze a little glue all over it. this fixture, if you're using a sign, you don't want to glue it on unless it's very thin, like the one at the Dollar Tree, you're going to want to attach itwith Chanel stems or floral wire or something like that now because it's metal. that Heat is going to happen, so FYI, in case you're doing the same thing and then just flip it over being careful to get a push, so make sure you have it where you want it, I'm going to use my scissors to press it down. because that guy is sexy, just give it a good 30 second press so you get that good stickiness, that's it guys, just look at how awesome this wreath turned out.
I am very happy with her. I hope you enjoyed making this wreath with me today. Again the list of supplies and tools is for you below in the description, if you enjoyed this video please give it a like it really helps my little channel grow and if you like all things wreath making be sure to hit the subscribe button for new videos and Tutorials are uploaded every week, thanks guys, happy crafting, okay, let's move on to our next design. We are going to create a patriotic door ornament using the 5 gallon paint stir stick method. You will find a full list of materials below in the description of this one. video, as well as the link to my Etsy shop, so if you'd rather purchase today's design, you'll also find that link below.
Okay, let's dig in. The first thing we need to do is build this 5 gon paint mixing bar. They are 17 inches long and about an inch and a half wide and you will need six standard pipe cleaners. The first thing we're going to do is right at the top of this paint stirring rod there's a little slit. About 3 inches down and we're going to anchor our first pipe cleaner around that slit, so I just wrapped it around and squeezed it about three times. and I'm going to create a loop about two and 2 to 2 and 1. 12 inches in diameter and then just wrap this pipe cleaner around itself and this will actually form the loop that you or your customers can use to hang it from their door. input, there we go, so it should look like this.
It's going to be the back of your design, so we're going to turn it around and now we're going to add the other five pipe cleaners. You're going to add one right below where we added the hanger and we're just going to put it in the center and give it three or four tight twists, form it into a U and point those ends up, they don't have to be perfect, even if you can see there are friends , don't worry, we'll move on to our next pipe cleaner, so we'll reach the bottom of the paint stirring rod about an inch and a half above where the paint storage rod ends and again we'll wrap it two or three times tightly, we'll form those U-shaped ends and we will point them upwards.
Next, we'll add our third pipe cleaner to the ceiling, which is essentially right in the middle of the first pipe cleaners we added. You can measure if it is more comfortable for you again. A couple of tight twists make a narrow U and point those ends towards the ceiling and then the last two pipe cleaners we'll add one between the first and second pipe cleaners about here and then our last one between pipe cleaners two and three in the center once Ya we add all the pipe cleaners to the paint stirring rod, you should have one on the back to hang the loop on and then five on the front that are essentially evenly spaced and then we'll take our hot glue gun. and just put a couple stripes of glue right on top of the pipe cleaner and our paint mixing stick to make sure these guys don't slide around once you've added all those tablespoons of glue go ahead and put your paint mixing stick on. set aside to dry and we're going to prepare our decorative mesh, so I grabbed three different rolls of 10 inch decorative mesh and let me take a second to pause here and remind you that what we're making today is a recipe uses the colors that Whatever theme you want, feel free to make this your own.
I thought I'd go ahead and make a patriotic farmhouse style or country themed door, so I have a 10 inch roll of red, white and blue striped burlap, a 10 inch solid metallic red and a 10 inch solid metallic blue, we'll get started with the striped burlap decorative mesh and for the next part guys you can use a good pair of scissors and a ruler to measure the decorative mesh pieces or if you are new to wreath making I highly recommend taking a rotary cutter from Amazon and add it to your tool kit along with the self-healing mat you see here in the background.
It simply allows you to easily measure your mesh and tape and cut them smoothly and efficiently with nice clean lines and remember that we added five pipe cleaners to the top of our paint stirring rod, so we will need five pieces of this decorative mesh cut to size. 24 long, so either with your scissors and ruler or your self-healing mat and rotary cutter, go ahead and cut those five pieces to 24 inches long and I'll see you back here once you've cut those first five pieces of decorative mesh. Go ahead and bring your paint stirring rod to your work area.
We'll set it aside for a bit and add a piece of decorative mesh to each set of pipe cleaners for this first step. I'm going to do ruching with our decorative mesh if you're new to working with decorative mesh. Decorative mesh loves to fray, so anything we can do as creators to help reduce that fray is always ideal and the scrunched method is great for that, so that's For the method we're going to use today, I would recommend having a chip clip or clothespin on hand for the next step. This makes it a little easier. Let's take a single piece of decorative mesh. to bring that into our work area with the curly side up, I like to put something in the middle of my decorative mesh piece so it doesn't roll up on me, we're going to get to one end of our decorative mesh and we're going to roll that and in two or three times and what that does is hide that raw edge to help reduce the scare, then we'll pinch it with our clip, turn our piece and roll that opposite end. in two or three times also to save that raw edge, take your weight off and then we're going to tighten the remaining pieces of our mesh, so all we're going to do is press that curl with our thumbs and use the rest. eight fingers to just scrunch and gather or bring that decorative mesh back to your hand, then we'll throw that clip in and you've just made a gather and actually what a gather is, guys, it's a curl on each end and a ruffle in it. in the middle, hence the pucker, you're going to get in your paint stir stick and we're going to start at the top, take that pucker and so the factory edge or the ruffled top is pointing up, we're going to place it right below. to the center of our pipe cleaners all the way to the base and we give it two or three tight twists and then we're going to point those pipe cleaners up again so we've just added our first gather, let's go ahead and do our second gather release that clip pinch that gather in the middle This time we're going to go horizontally so we have that factory edge on the side of our paint stirrer rod, we're going to add that wrinkle all the way to the base. those pipe cleaners, two or three tight turns, we'll do our third CLE, we'll release that clip, we'll pinch that in the middle, this time we'll go vertically again so the ruffled Factory Edge is pointing up, we're going to put that on. to the base of our next set of pipe cleaners and you guessed it, give them a couple of hard twists, we'll move on to our fourth circle, remove that clip, pinch our steering wheel in the middle, this time the factory Edge we go horizontally, essentially we go forward and back in a pattern we've added to the base of our next set of pipe cleaners, giving them a couple of tight twists and it's time to make our last cruffle release that clip. pinch that crinkle in the middle, let's add it to our last set of pipe cleaners all the way to the base, give those pipe cleaners two or three tight twists and we've just added our last crinkle to our swag, so this is what it looks like once we we've completed our first layer, the coverage looks pretty good, but we're going to make the coverage a little bit denser, so we're going to set our base to the side and then you're going to grab your 10 inch decorative mesh, metallic red solid and solid metallic blue, and we are going to add a curl of each of the colors in each set of pipe cleaners.
Tie up our paint stirring rod, so we're going to need five pieces of blue and five pieces of red, we're going to cut those pieces to 10 inches long, so go ahead and cut five pieces of each to 10 inches long and we'll we see here once you have You have five pieces of the red cut and five pieces of the blue. Go ahead and grab your paint stir bar loot and bring it back to your work area and grab that clip and we're going to make a curl of each color to add to all of them. of our pipe cleaners, so to make a curl, you'll simply take a single piece of decorative mesh, place it on your work area with the curled side up, and roll that piece of mesh into a cylindrical tube like this, so that it measures about a inch. up to an inch and a half in diameter in the center and then of course it widens out at the ends, you're just going to grab your clip, pinch that curl in the middle, grab your second color, take it to your work area and place it with the curl upwards. roll that piece into a cylindrical tube and then we'll take our red curl.
We're just going to do a simple, sloppy x with those two curls, go into our pipe cleaners, and add that decorative mesh curl x all over. the way to the base of the pipe cleaners right above our gather to the base and give those pipe cleaners a couple of tight twists so we just added our first two curls so go ahead and add a red one. and a blue curl on each set of pipe cleaners. Tie up your booty and we'll meet you here. Well, we've added a blue curl and a red curl to each set of pipe cleaners in our stash and look how cute.
And you guys, something to keep in mind is that this also makes a great centerpiece for your dining room table or your fireplace mantel, super cute and versatile. Okay, now what we're going to do is add a cute bow to the center of our swag. and then some tape tails to the remaining ties of the pipe cleaner, so let's start with our, let me show you the tape that I took here, guys, you can take the tape of your choice. I only recommend getting a mix of 2 and 1/2 and 1 and 1/2 in wide ribbon, so I have 2 and 1/2 in patriotic and burlap.
I have a solid navy blue 1 and 1/2 and then I have some bright red and bright white 1 and 1./2 no matter what you choose or how you pair them as long as they are connected this will be a super easy bow. It's one of my favorite bow recipes for beginners and it's really very beautiful, so there we are. We're going to take our 2 and 1/2 inch wired tape and we're going to cut two pieces that are 24 inches long. Once I measure the first piece, I'll use it as a guide for my next piece and you guys, not this. It doesn't have to be perfect.
I promise that no one will measure your ties. We will then cut two strips of the solid navy blue 22 inches long and cut two strips of the red 1 and 1/2 in glitter. ribbon also 22 inches long and then I have a single piece of 1 and 1/2 inch ribbon that is white with some cute stars that is 12 inches long so as long as you have seven strips of ribbon total, you can mix them up and combine them however you want, so what I'm going to do at this point is angle trim my ends on all of the tape strips to angle trim, you're just going to go down about an inch on one side and cut. diagonally to the other side, you can also do Dov's tail, of course, if that's your preference, so let's go ahead and trim all of these ends and then we'll do our bow before we start on our B.
Go ahead and grab a pipe cleaner standard that kinda matches your ribbon in color and just fold the pipe cleaner into a loose V and set it aside, so to make this bow you're going to take your first strip of ribbon. I always start with a 2 and 1/2 inches, you're just going to fold that in half again without going for perfection, then at the halfway point and you're just going to back up a little bit closer to the closed end, you're just going to pinch and pinch that piece together. just like that and take it. Make a bottom loop and just twist it tightly under your fingers because this is going to become the tail of your ribbon and you want that pretty side up so it basically looks like an awareness ribbon, so my left hand is going to be my holding hand. and my right hand. with my working hand we will grab our next 2 and 1/2 inch piece.
This time we are going to fold that piece in half. We want the closed end to be the opposite end, so here is our closed end facing left. the next one will be facing to the right, just pinching and gathering in the center, we're going to place it right on top of the first ribbon and we're going to twist or flip the tail of the ribbon so that it's nice side up from the excess pipe cleaners that we have. No need to continueGo ahead and grab the loot base and bring it back to your work area.
Let's add our bow to the center set of pipe cleaners. If you're having a hard time identifying that center joint, just flip it over and you can want that midal pipe cleaner and you can just flip it over. We're going to place that bow stack right in the middle of that pipe cleaner and give it a couple of turns. You want to anchor it well, but don't crush it. down so much that it recoils and disappears into your loot once you've added that, we're going to fluff our bow. I like to do that from the side, so I'm going to pull those tails, those 2 and 1/2 in tails on the bottom basically in an x pattern and then I'm going to open up my Loops right where they are, you can certainly fluff your bow however you want, It just takes a little time, no matter how long you've been making the bow. so give yourself some grace and spend some time fluffing, you've got that bun, we're going to make some ribbon tails for our swag and we're going to need four pieces of the red, four pieces of the white and four pieces. from the blue cut to 10 inches long and then angle trim or bind those ends and then we'll meet you here once you've cut all of your ribbon strips go ahead and bring them back to your work area.
I'm going to add one of each of the colors on each set of pipe cleaners, so I'm just going to use red, white and blue, I'm just going to crisscross them like this and we're just going to pinch that in the middle a little bit. we're going to get to our first set of pipe cleaners, we're going to add that bundle of ribbon glue to the base of those pipe cleaners, we're going to give them two or three tight twists and I'm just going to use my little scissors and trim the scraps off of those pipe cleaners and I roll them back and out of the way and then I'll fluff the tails of my ribbons and all I'll do is make sure they're right side up and I'll run my fingers over them. each tail just to give it a little bit of a curve like this, so we're going to add three ribbon tails to our remaining pipe cleaner ties.
You had two under the arch that we just added, but we're going to add them on you. what a stinker, these dors come together so you can see how it has great coverage and would also make a great centerpiece as I mentioned before. Okay, we have one more step for this beauty. This is just a selection of bright red curls that I grabbed. from Hobby Lobby and we're going to add some of these curls to our swag that last step make sure your hot glue gun is plugged in in case it's not already we're just going to trim that step down these are actually my job heavy duty professional.
Cutters are great for saving your wrist when you're working with ornaments or thicker flowers, so if you can see that they're sectioned, I'm going to take those professional cutters and separate this stem into sections that get the curls. tangled together you may have to unscrew them see what I mean so we'll just figure that out and then we'll have some little bundles here separating them into sections which actually gave us three picks and so we're going to add one on top basically near the top set of pipe cleaners and what I'm going to do is on the back of that pick run a full squeeze or two or a scoop as I call we're going to take hot glue off of them and then I'm going to place it on Nestle right near the center of that group of ribbon tail and I'm going to hold it for about 10 seconds to give you a good amount of time to grab it and we're I'm also going to add one to the bottom set of pipe cleaners, so again on the back of that stem, I'm going to give it two full squeezes of glue and then we'll place it right where the bottom set of ribbons is.
Added tails and we're going to give it a 10 second hold so it has time to grab on and then I trim that last twig into just individual pieces and what I'm going to do, whoops, what I'm going to do. What we do is we just add a dollop of glue to the bottom of them and just sprinkle them over the rest of our loot and that's how stinky it is and what a simple craft. I hope you enjoyed creating with me today if you Make sure to give this tutorial a thumbs up and don't forget to hit the subscribe button.
Thanks friends. Happy crafting. Okay, let's move on to the next design. Next, I'll show you how to make a decorative mesh with ruffles and ribbon. Tails Patriotic Wreath and before we start cutting our mesh, let me tell you that we're going to basically divide this frame into quarters. Okay, we have eight sections between the two crossbars and we are going to fill two sections with one type of method and the remaining six sections with a different type of method, so wait guys, we are going to do two different things here to give us a look of flag, so go ahead and set your wreath frame aside for just One minute, we're going to talk about the first two sections that I told you would be a little different first and before we cut out our decorative mesh and again this is a little different than the typical thing I want friends to do.
We're going to cut eight pieces of ribbon for both types 13 inches long, folks, so a quick way to do this is to simply measure the first 13-inch piece and then mark it with your finger and then take the ribbon and fold it over itself. eight times to get those eight pieces and then you won't have to measure each one individually and it's okay if they're not 100% accurate, folks, no one will measure them, so just folding it over itself accordion style eight times so that there are four five six 7 eight once you have all the pieces count it go ahead and cut the remaining pieces of that ribbon so what you have now friends is a Stack of ribbons and we're going to separate them and cut the edges at the same time or cut the ends at the same time, so make sure the stack of ribbons at the end are tightly attached and then you will fold it. sideways here and knowing the strength of your scissors to make a pigeon tail, you're just going to cut on the fold, so you're going to fold it in half placing your scissors on the folded side, not the open side. go down about a half to 3/4 inch and then cut diagonally all the way to the corner and then when you let go you'll see that you just separated all those pieces of tape and joined the ends together in one go.
Swoop, so it's a super easy cheat method. Now you're going to do the same thing on the other end, just make sure all those ends are tight together, fold them in half, take your scissors and cut along the folded side, not the one. the open side goes down about 3/4 inch cut diagonally, take your time and just follow the tail and separate the other end, so look how we just measured all the ribbon, trim the ends and the ribbon pieces. I separated everything in one quick step, so now I'll just put them printed side up in a small pile.
I'm going to put those guys aside and we'll do the same with our second Navy theme. wired tape again, we are going to measure it in 13 inch tails and we are going to cut eight pieces, friends, we may need more, but I prefer to cut on the conservative side, we can always cut a few more if necessary. up to that 13 inch mark and just hold it with your finger and then we'll fold it over itself accordion eight at a time to give us our eight pieces just like we did with the other tape and then like we did before. make sure those ends are attached tightly, they should be pretty good, then fold them in half, take your scissors and cut on the folded side, go down about a half to 3/4 inch and then cut diagonally on that corner and that will separate the tails of the ribbon at that end and will give them the folded tail.
You can also cut at an angle if you prefer to cut at an angle. Now flip the stack of ribbons over and do the exact same thing, make sure those ends are tight together, fold them over. take half of your scissors and go down a half to 3/4 inch into that fold and cut diagonally to the corner and once again friends, we just separated our ribbons, cut the eight pieces we need and put them together and a Falla , so I'm going to place them pretty side up like we did with our previous ribbons. Alright folks, move your ribbons to the side and go ahead and grab your 10 inch white decorative mesh and your scissors or your rotary cutter. and what we're going to do at this point folks, we're going to cut 16 pieces that are 15 inches long, so with your scissors or your rotary cutter just measure that decorative mesh and we'll cut it to 15 inches. to give us 15 inch cuts and you will need 16 pieces so go ahead and cut your 16 pieces of just the white decorative mesh to 15 inches long and see you here okay friends we have our 16 pieces of white decorative mesh cut to 15 inches long.
We have pre-cut our Navy themed ribbon and it's time to add our first section to our wreath and again friends this is just a recipe so feel free to modify this recipe and recreate it any way you want so be sure that your chip clip is inside Arms Reach, the first thing we're going to do folks is make some cruffles so that each pack we add to the wire frame consists of two cruffles and two. ribbons that will be secured with one of our pipe cleaners and then added to the frame of our wreath so let's make our first stack if you're new to making decorative mesh wreaths or ruching what you're going to do is grab a piece . of your 10 inch decorative mesh that you have cut and you will see that the mesh likes to curve on itself so you will want your mesh to be curved side up and what I would like you to do friends is just on both ends , roll that piece of decorative mesh over itself a couple of times and what that does is save those raw edges of your decorative mesh to help prevent The Fray and then you'll just scrunch it up in the middle. to make a little cruffle and then you're going to take your chip clip and just pinch that cruffle in the middle to hold it securely while we make our second cruffle, take another 10 inch piece of Deco Mash that we cut at 15 In and following That same method, friends let each end roll over itself once or twice, just make sure the raw edges are hidden and then pinch them together and gather them in the middle until your hands meet and you've done the number gather. two and what we What I'm going to do with those wrinkled friends is just CR cross them over themselves forming an X and then you're going to take one of each type of ribbon.
What I'm going to do here, folks, I'm just going to take one. of each of our types of ribbons and place one on top of the other and then just look at where the middle is, just take your fingers and put them together until it looks like this, like a man's bow tie, and place it right on top of your two. cruffles, so it should be centered basically for both of them and then you're going to take a pipe cleaner wrapper that goes around the cruffle and the stack of ribbons, turn it upside down and just give it a couple of tight twists to keep those guys together and then come on.
Let's go to your wire cray and we'll fill two sections with these ruffles and ribbons. Stacks Friends, so we have two ribbons and two ruffles in the stack. We have secured it with our Chanel pipe cleaner and we are. We're going to fill two sections, so basically a quarter of this wire wreath frame with this particular type and we're going to add, I think we can add four more per section for a total of eight, and I'm going to add them in kind of back and forth, so the first stack of ruffles and ribbons I'll tie around rings one and two and then the second stack I'll tie around rings two and three and then I'll go back to one and two, so Bounce to back and forth will give us more fullness, so all you're going to do, friends, is turn it around.
We've taken our pipe cleaners or our Chanel stems, we've wrapped it up. Rings one and two or the inner one. the middle and we're going to give them two or three tight twists, we're not going to trim them yet, but I'm just going to point them inward so they're out of our way and We'll worry about fluffing our ribbons and curls in a moment, like this We added our first pile of wrinkles and ribbons. Let's do the second one. We're going to take our 10 inch decorative mesh, roll it over itself on each end so our decorative mesh is curly side up and I'm just rolling it a couple of times just to save that raw edge and then I'm just going to tighten it up and I'll put it together in the middle until my hands come together and I'll take the clip of my chip to hold it. that guy right in the center and we're going to do another one exactly the same way.
I grabbed a piece of decorative mesh, it has the curly side up. I'm curling both ends once or twice just to save that raw edge. and then I'm just squeezing and gathering in the middle until my hands I'm going to go back here to my ribbon, excuse me, I'm going to go back here to my stack of cruffles, place one on top of the other in an my ribbons, just one piece each. I'm going to place one on top of the other and then I just eyeball them again folks, we're not going for perfection, we're just pinching and gathering in the middle, I'm going to add that right on top of my stack of ruffles, so we have two ruffles and two ribbons, and now I'm grabbing a pipe cleaner, I'm just going to grab the wrapper of thepipe cleaner that's right around my steering wheel and tape. stack, I'm going to give it two or three tight twists and then I'm going to move on to my wire reframing and we're going to add to this guy and again we're not going to worry about fluffing our ribbons at At this point, as long as they're facing up, the print side is facing up. , you're okay, so when we added our first crinkle and ribbon friends, we wrapped our pipe cleaner around rings one and two and remember I said we're going to go back. fourth, so this second stack of ruffles and ribbons this time we're going to wrap it around rings two and three, we want to bounce back and forth just to give it more fullness, so I wrapped it around rings two and three and I'm just going to give it With a couple of tight twists, I'm going to point those Chanel stems towards the center of the wreath and now we've added two of our four stacks of ruffles and ribbons into that first section, so let's do that.
We're going to complete this section together and then we'll move on quickly, so let's go ahead and make our next stack of cruffin ribbons grab a piece of decorative mesh and wrap each end over itself just a couple of times to save that raw edge from crinkling and it comes together. in the middle until your hands meet, grab the chip clip and pinch the gather in the middle and set it to the side and we're going to take another piece of mesh De and do exactly the same thing, let's fold a couple of rolls with the side upwards. on each end to save that raw edge and gather it in the middle, we're going to place it on top of the first gather that we made, we're going to take two ribbons, one of each different type, and we're going to place them on top of each other, just looking to find that. pinch in the middle and gather and put those two ribbons right on top so you have two gathers and two ribbons and it's time to grab a pipe cleaner and you're just going to wrap that pipe cleaner right in the middle of your gather and ribbon pile, I'm going to turn it around and I'll give it a few tight turns, probably three or four, we'll go back to our wire frame, so first we add a stack of ruffles and ribbons that we wrap it around.
Rings one and two, next. wrapped around rings two and three, so let's bounce back and wrap our third around rings one and two, so I'm just wrapping those pipe cleaners around rings one and two. I'm going to turn it around and just give it a couple of tight turns, three or four is probably all you need and we'll aim those guys a little bit towards the center so they're out of the way, so we add our third one, we'll add one more to this section and then We will skip to the next section. I think we're good to just zoom in on these parts, folks, so what I want you to do is add one more to this section, then add four to the neighboring section, and then I'll see you here, okay, folks.
I just added eight total stacks of ruffles and ribbons in two sections, so you have four stacks of ruffles and ribbons in each section for a total of eight and each of your stacks of ruffles should have two stacks of ruffles and two ribbons you added and When you first look at it, you're probably thinking, God, that doesn't seem like a big deal, so what we haven't done yet, folks, is fluff our ribbons, so all you have to do, just I will show this. real quick guys so you can see what it's going to look like once we're done is to throw those stacks of tape into an , in a loose X. and then you just take your fingers because it's wired and you give it a little bit of curvature and it doesn't matter which way the ribbons go, you can alternate back and forth between the two, you just want that nice clean X and then I know, just hit your ribbons a little bend and a bump here and you're going to do that with all your stacks of ribbons, so I'm just putting each stack into an X and then taking my fingers and running them through. the ribbons to give them a little bit of a curve and we'll go back over them once we're done with the whole wreath folks, I just wanted to give you an idea of what you could expect this beauty to look like once we're done, there you have it.
Friends, you can see what this will look like once we're done. All of those ribbons will go in different kinds of directions, giving it a lot of life and texture, but now we have to finish building our wreath, so we're just done. We've done two sections, folks, and as you can see in the back, it's still a little messy. We've left our Chanel pipe cleaners or stems there, which we'll continue to do for now, but we need to build the rest. sections of our wreath, so let's put this guy to the side so we can move on to cutting our next ribbon, so this time we're going to use our red themed ribbon and I just grabbed this red and white stripe and some red, white and blue stars and We've only made two of the eight sections, folks, so the remaining six will be filled with this type of ribbon, so we'll need 24 cuts of each ribbon measured at 13 inches long, so Just like before, folks , measure your tape at 13 inches and you will have to do this in two tries.
I'm going to fold it over itself 12 times and then I'll do it again because we need 24 cuts of each and my scissors, you know, can't handle 24, so you're just going to fold them over themselves 12 times, so we've folded them over themselves 12 times, friends accordion style, and I just married my ends here to Make sure they're all right and then, like before, friends, you're going to fold it in half over itself, take your scissors and, going down about 3 /4 inch on the folded side, then you will cut it diagonally. to give it that dovetail and then we'll go around to the other end and do exactly the same thing, so now I'll put them all pretty smooth in a pile and then we'll move on to the second half.
Alright friends, we have finished our second stack of 12 13 inch long interlocking ribbon tails and now we need to repeat that step one more time with our one and 2 inch starry ribbon and again you will want to cut 24 pieces that are 13 inches long and fold the ends and then see you here okay friends now that we have cut the rest of our ribbon tails you should have 24 of each type cut to 13 inches long. and with dovetail or angled tail if that is your preference and our next step is to prepare our decorative mesh. Go ahead and grab your red and white.
You'll notice folks that we didn't actually end up using the navy blue. I felt like it would be like that. be too dark for a wreath, so grab your 10-inch white decorative tinsel and your 10-inch red decorative tinsel. We're going to need 24 pieces of each type that are 15 inches long, so go ahead and cut and lay out your decorative mesh. aside and we'll move on to the next step, okay folks, you should now have 24 cuts of your red and white and 24 cuts of your solid white, each 15 inches long, let's go ahead and take up our work. wreath frame here and we'll start adding our next layers, we'll just do one together guys, because it'll follow the exact same pattern as our navy and white theme, so we'll take a part of our decor.
The mesh with the curly side up we'll just tuck each edge in here and curl it down just to hide those raw edges and then we'll scrunch it up and gather it in our hands, grab our chip clip and gather that guy right in the middle and now. We will do the same with our white piece so that each stack of cruffles has one red decorative mesh cruffle piece and one white decorative mesh cruffle piece following the same method, so we will simply cross the white over the red or the red over the white doesn't matter, then you will take one of each of the two types of tape, so, as before, your friends place that tape on top of each other, just look at the center, pinch and pinch together, then place the two tapes right on top . top the two pieces of decorative mesh crule, take the pipe cleaner wrapper surrounding the cruffle and the stack of ribbons and give it a couple of tight twists.
I find it easier to hold the pipe cleaning paper and then twirl my pile of cruffle and decorative mesh ribbons. move on to the next section on your wreath frame and just go in line with our pattern friends just like we had done before wrapping it around Rings one and two, two and three, one and two, two and three, like this we're back to one and two and again just wrap that pipe cleaner around the rings, give it a few tight twists and then drag that guy over and like before your friends will add four stacks of ruffles and ribbons to each section so keep going and create your stacks of ruffles and ribbons. adding four to each section, move along the rest of your wreath and I'll see you here again oh my gosh guys.
I am very excited and pleasantly surprised with how fantastic this wreath really is turning out. I didn't even go through and fluff or clean our ribbon tails and look how amazing this is turning out. I'm so excited, let's go ahead and flip our wreath and also hot glue gun your friends together. What I want you to do is to take a good pair of scissors or your scissors and we're going to go through and basically trim all the tails off of our Chanel pipe cleaners or stems. Make sure to leave about an eighth of an inch of protrusion on those pipes. cleaners just so they don't fall apart and just go all the way around the back of our wreath here and trim these guys out.
Let's zoom through friends while you trim your pipe cleaner. Tails, just go ahead, take your fingers and point them down. so they're nice and flat once you've cut off all the pipe cleaners or the Chanel stems, folks, take your hands and just push that decorative mesh in, give it a good push and push forward, alright folks, so everywhere of your wire crown. frame on this middle rung and the middle rung just where a pipe cleaner or a Chanel stem meets the middle wreath wire, go ahead and just run a little bead of glue over that pipe cleaner and then go out to the sides basically to that you have I have about a half inch total of glue going right over that pipe cleaner that will help keep everything nice and secure and keep perfect friends from moving around so once you have that gob of glue go over your pipe cleaners and over the wire structure. around the center ring of your wreath, go ahead and give it about 5 minutes to dry and then we'll meet you here for the last step.
Alright folks, once the glue has dried, go ahead and flip your wreath. The last step for this beauty is to simply fluff our ribbon tails and all you need to do, friends, is start in one area. Remember we have two ribbon tails per bunch, you're just going to take those ribbon tails and shape them. a loose X and really go all the way around the wreath. I'm actually going to go in the opposite direction of it, so for example in this X ribbon tail I have the stars on the left side in the next one I'm just going to bring them to the right side and as you go take your fingers and run them up and over your ribbons, which will give them a little bit of curl and help give them that definition, so let's do one more together just to shape them. a loose and we see each other here and there, we are friends, we have finished our super cute decorative mesh crown and ribbon tail without signs, without flowers or additional bows, and look how studying this Beauty turned out.
I guess this is it. bit let's see actually this is 26 inches in diameter and each bit is probably 8 inches thick super full let me show you this from the side what a fun wreath thank you for spending time with me creating this beauty today if you enjoyed this tutorial.
