Dollar Tree Store Frosting DIY Cookie Heart Valentines Holiday Home Decor How To Craft Video

Mar 29, 2024
Hello everyone and welcome back to another

video

with me, Cookieswirlc. I'm going to take this Valentine's Day

heart

that I bought at the Dollar Tree and we're going to make a waffle cone ice cream

heart

with it, it's kind of thin wood, but it should work perfectly fine. I came up with this idea after finding these really cute little houses that were in the

dollar

tree

garden section. Can you believe it? Yes, they all came from the

dollar

tree

. I'm going to outline exactly how I want my waffle. cone to look at, the bottom of the heart is going to be the cone and then I'm going to pour some dripping

frosting

over it, very simple and then after it drips like this, I think I'm also going to spell the word sweet and maybe let's put a little heart on it, so maybe it's like honey, but none of that really matters for now, it just matters how I get the pattern now to get this waffle cone.

I'm just going to use some puffy 3D paint, it doesn't matter what color I just had it on hand with the yellow, I just want it to be 3D and puffy so I can get that texture, so I'm going to start on one side and just drag it in a criss-cross angle, so I just have to decide how far apart I want them all to be okay there now I'm going to let the air dry, which says it's going to take about four hours, okay? it dried overnight and now I'm going to do the other pattern now that all the puffy paint has dried so now I'm going to use some mod podge that the dollar tree sells.

I lightly covered my swollen paint with the mod podge. The puffy paint has a shiny shiny texture so it might rub off because the coating is very slippery and smooth and I don't want that to happen to the paint so I'm going to paint over it with some mod podge and let it set. dry well, everything is dry to the touch now to paint I'm going to use some acrylic paint, this one is the color tan and I thought this color would work quite well compared to the other sweet houses and now I'm just going to paint everything now, once it's all dry, apply a second coat that way it won't look as smudged while I wait for it to dry.

I also picked up on another of my dollar tree hauls these little metals. letters so I was going to write with some puffy paint like maybe the word sweet or something, but now I'm thinking I'll probably use one of these, so this one says love, this one says xoxo and then this big one says Valentine's Day, Now that I'm looking at it, maybe I'll just leave the waffle cone as is, it's cute with the word love, but I also bought this really big particle board heart at the Dollar Tree too if you guys saw my haul.

video

, you guys saw that there so I'm thinking maybe I'll use the words on these instead of the waffle cone heart.

I think I like it as it is very waffle and cute. Now it's time for a Third coat, this should be the last coat so it doesn't look so smudged now as it dries. I'm going to work on my second heart, so I'm just going to flip this side of the particle board. Grab my mod podge and I'm just going to prep and prep the surface so this is a big Valentine's Day

cookie

heart, like what I see at Mrs Fields. They make the most delicious

cookie

s, so I want this to be inspired by that. I just want to prepare this chipboard heart so that my paint doesn't like to soak in and just soak in and I end up using more paint than necessary.
Now I'm going to take this little metal love and also paint it with my mod podge. that way it's not such a slippery surface once it dries now I'm going to use a little bit of brown but this is more like a metallic brown I'm going to paint this all over the heart oh no it won't come out oh okay that's it the time it's been since I used it, it's completely dry, created like a little paint stamp, let's get rid of that, there we go, so now I can use this paint, oh, it's got like a layer here, oh look. how it dried, that's crazy, oh look it's like folding in on itself, I need to clean my paints really bad, I take all this out, oh it's so dirty, come on, okay, there we go now that I have soft paint on the interior now that I got rid of this plug of dried paint while everything dries.
I'm going to go ahead and use some air dry clay and just like these little garden houses that have like little cherries here and that one has a little bit of mint in it, I'm going to create the same thing, roll it into a ball, boom, call it a day , that's a cherry and for the little mint, roll out a ball and then just flatten it with my fingers to create a little mint candy shape now once those little circular disks dry to make them more like a circle. I'm just going to take a file and you can file them very carefully to get a more round shape, but honestly, it's not that big.
I try because it's going to be in glaze anyway and I'm just going to apply a little bit of paint to paint my mints white, even though the clay is already white, I still like to put on a little base coat and then use a little bit of pink. I'm just going to recreate these little mint swirls, now I'm going to take some red and paint them on little red candies and again, this would be a lot easier if I actually had red clay that way, I wouldn't have to paint. I'll definitely have to go out and buy new clay, then I'll use the same pink again and paint the word love and of course apply a second coat. of paint so it doesn't have any stains, then I'm going to go in and seal everything with mod podge.
Okay, my favorite part of this DIY project is probably going to be using these cake

decor

ating tips, so these were from the dollar tree, of course, same with the caulk that I'm going to use now this I used to get at Home Depot, so now it's great to see that it's on the dollar tree. This is like caulking for windows, bathtubs and things like that, so make sure you follow it. all the instructions are on the back and I hope this works because these tips can be a little flimsy, it comes with four different

frosting

tips and the piping bag even has like a little letter written on it, one already pre-attached, how am I going to do this .
I'm going to take my caulk, twist it, open the top, cut the tip off, take my bag of frosting, feed the caulk in here without squeezing it because I don't want the frosting to come out and now every time I squeeze the bottom of this, I wait that if luckily it will come out of the tip press press oh oh I didn't see it explode here oh I don't think there's too much here no no no no no no that's not what I wanted oh but wait, I can see it like in the frosting advice keep squeezing oh there it is now I just wanted to try it out and see how these tips work before I decide which one to use, so I'm going to press this one, it looks like this one is like a letter writing one, okay?
Let's change the tip of the frosting. We're going to use one like this classic one, so you should be able to unscrew this, yeah, and get the tip of the frosting out. Oh, put it on, just line it up, screw on the top piece. I want to try this and see how the icing turns out, oh yeah, perfect, okay, well, we can make little portions of frosting, so I'm going to cover the whole heart with icing, oh, this looks so real, oh, it exploded, oh , this looks so good. I'm going to go all the way around the edge, doesn't it look like royal icing?
I don't know, I also bought some of this glitter so I think I'm going to use some of this baby pink glitter on the heart, cut a little slit out of the bag and while the frosting is wet, sprinkle it on. Oh, let's go in. You can never go wrong with glitter, right, oh no, I poured too much, okay, that was too much, that was fun, here we go, there's the glitter heart, let it dry now I'm going to move on to this one. It's going to be fun because I'm also going to go in and add my little candies and just make little icing stars, do icing stars work?
Oh, this is a good way to practice making my little stars, but it doesn't have to be that way. It's going to be perfect because I'm going to go over this with my butter knife. I just want to put the basic amount of frosting here. Yeah, I'm going to smooth it out so it looks a little drippier like these. I just have a little butter knife that I'm using and, oh yeah, look, it's like frosting a cake, so smooth, so whipped, so wonderful, and then for the drips, I'm just going to make it drip just in a few areas. and then I'll put ice in there, nice thick frosting, there we go, now my heart is frozen.
Now I'm going to take my little clay candies and place them randomly, just like these guys have. Now this one, I'm going to take the iridescent one. glitter oh, it's so hard to see, oh, it's coming out now, alright, now I'm going to go back to my big cookie heart, I'm going to take a paintbrush and remove some of that pink glitter from the center, now I'm going to take my word love that I painted, flip it over and use my frosting so I can stick it on and I don't have to use a ton, just a little bit in some areas.
I'm going to write the word love right here. the middle and press it now I'm going to use the back of a paintbrush to push the caulk back because it will dry white, this will stay very strong, much stronger than glue, once these hearts are all dry remove any excess. glitter and I'm even going to use a very soft brush to dust off that glitter as well. Same thing with this heart, then I'm going to go in with my mod podge, add a little extra glitter and that's it. my word love, I'm just going to paint with the mod podge, I dip my brush in the glitter and I brush over the word love, and the same with the candy in the frosting, I dip my brush in the mod podge and I'm just going to Like come back to sweeten them, cover them with a little more glitter and then once the hearts are dry, I can lift them up very carefully and right on the back, just remove the extra glitter and any glitter left on the hearts, I can remove the powder with a brush. and for my little bags of leftover glitter I found these little storage containers at the dollar tree.
I'm just going to use them to hold the glitter and save every last drop, perfect for

craft

ing next time, so now all I have to do is take a little tack on the wall and hang my

decor

ations and it fits perfectly with the rest of my little town candy I found at the dollar tree. It looks so perfect and makes me so happy, I think the waffle cone. It goes really well, especially with the little candies in the frosting and of course I love the love heart too, it reminds me of a big giant cookie heart.
I hope you enjoyed these simple and easy dollar tree

craft

s, they are really fun. to do and cost very little to create and simply allow you to express yourself in the sweetest way possible. I hope you have a beautiful day and see you in my next video, bye.
