Qubely Gutenberg Blocks & Templates LIFETIME DEAL - First Look

Mar 12, 2024
Now, while I'm not a big fan of working with Gutenberg, as many of you know, it's something that I think we need to start considering, although it has many shortcomings, it will become the built-in page builder for WordPress. That being said, there are a lot of different services and a lot of different plugins and things that extend the way you can work with the

gutenberg

editor and today we're going to take a

look

at one specifically cubely, now the reason I'm focusing on kuberlee like the

first

is because there is currently a

lifetime

offer on appsumo which basically means you can get a copy of this with a minimum of 10 licenses for 49

lifetime

which means you can use it on your own sites.

On client websites you can basically do whatever you want with it, it's gpl which means if you want to edit anything included within this you can do so under the normal gpl license so it's good to see that they are completely open to working with it, but what? What kubly does is it opens up not only a range of predefined layouts and

blocks

like you would find in most page editors like Brizzy Elementor etc., but it also gives you a set of pseudo-page builder type tools. , so while it's nowhere near on the same level as something like brizzy or Elementor, it's something I think is worth considering now I know this will compare to the cadence

blocks

of the free version and the pro version, which again with kubelee there is a free version which obviously has a limited set of options and the pro version which has all the options available and if you want me to take a

look

to compare the two or just see what you like let me know in the section comments below and I'll check it out.

More Interesting Facts About,

qubely gutenberg blocks templates lifetime deal first look...

What can I do if I can get a license to take a look at the pro version of cadence too? That said, this is sort of a

first

look, so it won't be a deep dive into how to use all the features. features, this is more a case of me taking a first look at the cube-shaped building blocks, the page layouts, the options that are available and you come along for the ride. I paid for this out of my own pocket, so this is something that is not sponsored in any way. I have paid for this and this is my own completely unbiased experience and I give you exactly what I think.

That said, I already bought it, downloaded it and installed it on a demo site, so let's take a look at what we have and start working with within the actual qb editor, so jumping to the board the first thing I'll comment on is that I don't like any notices on your cubely board. That's one of those things that really bothers me, as you've seen in a recent video, it's great to see that they're not splashing advertising everywhere. Well, with that being said, what do we have on the left side? We have the Kubly options where you really only have basic information.

If we go to the settings, you can see that we can include things like recapture and the Google Maps API, so if you use them together within blocks or

templates

, you can put them in a centralized location and it makes the process very easy in advanced. You can see we can choose where the CSS is loaded, either as part of the header or where the file system is loaded, it's up to you how you want to work with that to start with, as the name suggests it's basically giving you information about versions , updates, the number of

templates

and that sort of thing, so it's not too useful, but it's nice to see, at least it's kept out of the way of the normal dashboard in its own section linked to the Facebook community, which is quite nice to see and options to keep in touch so you know some useful information there and the license page is basically where you enter your license when you install the pro version, now talking about you need to have both the free version and the pro version installed so that if we jump to the plugins section you will see that there are

gutenberg

blocks cubely advanced and the cubely pro with both installed you have access to everything so let's create a page and take a look at what we can do we will add a new page there and we will just call to this cubelytest, okay, so we'll save that draft now.
I'm not an advanced gutenberg user in any way, so I'm probably not the best person to demonstrate gutenberg itself, so I'm not going to worry about gutenberg, I'm just going to take a look, as I say, at what Cubely brings to the table. , then what do we do? Let's go to the plus and you can see if we go in and scroll down. We have a section for cube building blocks and this is what you can do. You can work in two ways. You can use the different widgets. the basic template option you have for rows where you can insert multiple columns, actually yes, multi-column rows there, so we click to add a row.
You can see it gives us options and if you have any kind of page builder, you know this is very similar to things like element or brizzy, you know that kind of thing so it's really cool to see, we can also set this up so that have full width to get the full width of the layout and then if you drop in something like this you can see it fits and it shows us really well how everything is laid out, another big fan of Guttenberg, the way this kind of thing works, but you know those options are there if you want them, so let's remove them from There, you know, you have options, we have margins and stuff at the top and bottom, so it's cool to see and we can remove this whole block, so we should go back to the previous page.
We also have import design. now the import layout, as the name implies, this is where we can take a look at both the sections and the starter packages. Now starter packages are effectively a full site design, so you can have a home page, a contact page, services you know, that kind of useful. We also have categories that are for sections and as you can see we have things like countdown timers and they are all very well designed and fully editable so you can change pretty much anything you want, the images, the text, everything. that. kind of thing, everything is editable, so at the time of recording this video, I think there's about a hundred and eighty or so different layouts within this section, Joe Do starter packs and you can see the inside there, now we've filtered again on the left side. business based agency side portfolios etc. if we open one of these you will see that it shows us all the different pages within that particular starter pack and if we want to take a look at a preview so we can see exactly how it looks see this before you spend the time and effort to download that particular design, we can do that and it will open a new tab and we will be able to see it and all that nice quick stuff, you know, there are some strange things like these are some missing images , etc., so hopefully this is something they'll take a look at to see why they're missing, but anyway you can see the designs are pretty good, everything looks nice, clean, modern and fresh, some nice animations, etc. .
They are a good starting point for any type of new person looking to get up and running quickly or just uninspired, want to create a site super fast, just want to change the content and not worry about the design. These could be the perfect starting point and as you can see in the top right corner we have all the free and premium packages so you can filter them and have a look, for example free, there are none in the portfolio, all starter packs, well, there are. Unfortunately there are no free starter packages, that's okay, otherwise let's take a look at some of these sections.
First of all, let me take a look at some of the starter packages. What we want? Let's say we want to have a nice header. here now you can see that we have a good variety of different starting points, all looking very similar, but you know this is in line with what you would expect to see these days. I like to see this one, let's preview it. of this particular header which looks really nice, I like the way it looks so let's say I want to import it, all I need to do is click import which will then download the resources and set everything up inside my page so we can see it .
We have exactly what we expect to see, so this gives us the first of those sections. You have all the options at the top left to make changes as you would within the Gutenberg editor as usual, but at the top left. On the right side, we now have some additional options that have to do with Kubelee, we have our style section and we have our advanced section and depending on what we select, that can change, so if we select the text, you can see that we have . design style and advanced, so we can change different aspects here if we want, so it's great to see the style, as the name suggests, we can do things like adjust the alignment, we can edit things depending on the type of device that has been seen and whether It's a desktop tablet or a mobile device and you can see that we can click between them and set different values for each one.
Now I think this is probably a limitation when it comes to working with Gutenberg. By switching to any of these, we will see how the values change. but we don't see any changes on the screen, so editing for different devices is not necessarily the most intuitive way to work. Hopefully this is something that will be fixed because right now it's not user friendly at all, so we've got those different sections and again, if we click on the button, for example, now we can change the style of the button, we can choose different options there, the URL we wanted to go to the alignment, all that kind of useful stuff, so it's really a nice, clean way to work, you've got all the padding and the margins, etc., the layout, so that we can set the layout on hover in normal mode.
You know, if you have experience working with regular page builders, you should do it. Once you get over the quirks of how Gutenberg works, you'll find that this will be pretty easy because many of the options are the kinds of things you'll be used to, including the iconography used within you. Things like padding and margins etc are incredibly reminiscent of Brizzy the page builder, so you know you have to be pretty quick to get up to speed with how these things work. You know that everything is nice, simple and intuitive and that you can interact with. things on the screen we can add icons if you want, so we can say we want to put this little icon in there, the position of its size, just the spacing, all pretty intuitive, it shouldn't take you more than 10 to 15 minutes to get it.
If you are used to how this all works you should know that it is quite easy to start creating your own type of sites using these options and I think this is where Kubele becomes quite useful, it is a great starting point for a set of templates for pages. for sections and stuff or you can just go in and start building things from scratch using the different widgets that you have available, but I think the real strength of this will come from these layouts that you can use quite easily. With that said, let's take a look at, for example, the entire section, so we choose the section, we have the background, we can change the image and as you can see, we can choose between types of image backgrounds that we can set. gradients or we can even use videos, both local and external, linked videos, that's quite nice to see.
You can change the image if you wish. You can set it to be local or external again. Fixed animation for parallax effect. You know you have a lot. of different animated options, you know what you want to do, I like the look of this, the advanced background options so you can choose exactly how these centers repeat, you know the type of mode that will be used and again if you have I've been working with any type of page builder, this is all super intuitive, you're used to everything, it's just going to be laid out slightly differently, even going down to things like adding shape dividers so we can add shape dividers on top or on the bottom. bottom and you can see there that we have a variety of different options to choose from so we can choose one of these for example or this one or this one you know any of these that you want and then you have control over so let's say we like quite the look of that, once we've chosen it, we'll come back to this and once we come out of this, you can see we can change the color of this so that You can set this to be white, for example, so that it now fits with the background of our page.
It is very simple to do. We want to add box shadow borders. All that kind of stuff. You can set this to bring it to the front at whatever height you want. you can adjust the width, although that doesn't seem to be doing anything in this particular case, butagain, that could be due to the way Gutenberg works, but it's pretty sellable, flat explanatory, pretty intuitive and easy to work with, with nothing it should really do. anything complex to use these types of building blocks to start building your layouts, okay, let's move on now, let's take a look at some of the other options, let's take a look at how to create an entire page with this, let's import another layout and for our sections let's go down and choose something as a call to action and see what we have that I think will be viable for this section, okay, what do we have?
Maybe we'll do the call to action, try something like features, okay, so I'll write to you. of this feature 20, let's see a preview and okay, it looks great according to what we're doing, so we'll do the same thing again, we'll import it, so now that we've added this extra section we can see that this doesn't look okay, we need to change the color scheme on the top section so we can select the bottom area, go to the bottom and we can just copy this color from there to have that value in there we can go back to this section, we can go to our shape divider at the bottom and we just apply the color in there and that should then, wow, let's do it again, now it should line it up, okay, that's pretty good.
To do this it's very easy, let's just save that draft and we'll take a quick preview just to make sure everything looks the way we like it. We have some things like this little extra space between these sections, but that's really easy. to adjust we can reselect the section we want and get to the advanced area, then we can adjust our margins and we can make sure everything is perfectly fine. We can do the same in the next section if necessary. choose that, go to the advanced section, go to our margins and so on, jump to advanced and again from there we can adjust our margins so we can adjust any of these as needed to make sure everything fits and lines up nicely , neat and orderly.
Okay, so we'll save that draft and jump to our test section and we should find that all of those issues have been fixed so you can see that it's actually quite simple to

deal

with nothing complex again. I really don't like everything. The way that what we're seeing within the edit isn't necessarily what we're seeing in the actual end result, which makes it a little harder to make sure that you're creating what you're looking to create, if that makes sense. Um, you know you're really going blind, so if anyone knows a way to

deal

with that side of things, please let me know in the comments section below because I'd love to know how to deal with it.
That, but with that being said, like I say, a little bit of tweaking isn't the end of the world and all of these designs look pretty good, so again we could come in here and we could say we wanted to take a look at a contact and you section. we can say we're going to use something that I don't know, let's say we want to use something like this and we'll just import it into our layout and that's it, now we have it at the bottom and if we want we can control exactly how these sections work, so for the moment this is set to box I think, but we can if we want to set it to full width, so we click there and say full width and as you can see, that drops. all in again and again, you know, things look a little messy, but I think this is probably more due to gutenberg or whatever theme we're using to run this that's causing these kinds of weird crashes, but again, I just really don't like the whole Gutenberg editor, um, but we're not here to test Gutenberg, we're here to test it in cubes, so we've seen how to take these building blocks, how to build things and if we jump.
In our preview you will see that everything is in place. You know, there are a lot of things that look good again. This shape at the top because we've edited the settings, we don't see that reflected in here, which you already know. it's a little frustrating, okay, so we've created some elements on the page, let's say we wanted to create our own layout, let's go down and add a new section, we'll add this, we'll add a row and from there we'll do something like a row 50 50 so we can play a little. We'll set this to be full width, so let me move on to the section that should allow me to do that.
Be patient with me. there we go full width, okay, now we can just place any of these widgets to exit the cubely section, what do we have in the widgets? Well, we have the normal things you would expect, like buttons and advanced text and so on, but you have things like video popup accordion progress bar counters and many of these are already predefined layouts that you can completely customize and modify, so For example, let's say we wanted to put something like I don't know what we have, let's say we wanted to use a progress bar. You can see that we can place it and now on the right side we have many different options to choose from and you can easily choose a starting point layout that you want.
I think it looks pretty good, for example, like this and then we have full control over how we edit it, so if we style it, you can see that we currently have three different layouts and I know you're talking about increasing these layouts and these layouts and others to expand what we have here over the weeks and months to open up many more options, so I think if you're buying this and you like what's here today, it should be refined over the next six to twelve months. and what you finish a year from now should be considerably bigger and better than what you have now, which is already a pretty decent starting point.
You know the company behind this, I think it's Femium, they have a pretty good track record in things like tutor lms, you know this isn't their first foray into WordPress tools so it's good to see that they are expanding into things like this one, but like I say, you have a starting point so we can go in and edit this easily. We have alignment options to position this progress size so we can adjust the size to fit however we want to the progress, then we can adjust this so you can see we can adjust the progress color, we can have a solid color if we want we can use gradients, you can adjust the angle of the gradient, the stopping points for those particular colors, you know the corners, whether you want to have them sharp or rounded, many interesting options, the circle we can adjust, you already know that, so we can reduce the percentage. if we want we can make it bigger so you can refine them and make them look totally unique, even though you're using the template as a starting point you can create some really unique options from these different starting points but it's all editable in there , which is great to see what else we have, let's just get rid of this, we'll just delete it from there and once we've deleted it, we'll delete the block, we'll just add something else, so try another one, okay, let's go down to our cubely oops cubely and let's take a look at the info box, for example, okay, again we have the same kind of starting point, we have a predefined style or layout, then we have a variety of different options that we can choose from to style them quickly and easily in one differently and then we can refine them and adjust them again with the alignment options, we can adjust those alignment options and things depending on the device that you're looking at, so all the things that you're used to, you know, a normal page editor, Tons of options for your titles, you can use all the normal Google fonts if you want, wait, all that kind of cool stuff is available here, as well as the advanced ones. typography options so you can then go in and open this up a little bit so you can see we can do letter spacing and line height, allow transformations, we want to capitalize things and so on.
I keep reiterating, it's nothing you haven't seen before. in tools like brizzy in Elementor it's just being done within gutenberg using the kubele editor, okay so there's all the options we have there and I don't think I need to continue. I think this is one of those things that could go on. Going deeper into all of these different widgets, but I think you'll get an idea of the tools that you have available and you also have these global settings options so you can see that we have preset theme settings styles that you can create. your own presets and apply them again, you still don't see those options directly inside the editor, so for example, if I choose a preset, you can see that there are all the global colors, the titles and the typography, and these are like those styles of theme, style. kits, any kind of terminology that you want to use, that's available in brizzy, now available in element, or you can style these things and then you can play around and apply them to your page as a global setting, a really quick way to apply the same settings on multiple different pages, this is just the cubic way of working, but you can't really see those changes directly within the editor, which is very frustrating from a design point of view because you're making changes and you don't really know what they are.
In my opinion, this is going to feel like taking a step back from when you used to work with things like the visual composer. The visual composer was largely just building blocks and you really had to look at the front end to see what was happening in the layout you were working with, so I think for gutenberg to be realistically taken seriously as a tool of design and editing, especially when you use it in conjunction with something like cubely, all of those things have to be taken into account. to see exactly what we're doing on the back end when we make changes, you can't keep jumping back and forth to see those changes, so if I save a draft now, we get to this, possibly we should find or maybe not right , you can see this as if the infobox just picks up the styling of things from there, it's just not too intuitive, but that's not the conclusion of kubelee cuba.
He's doing a good job in a tough situation, but what do I think of qb? Is this something that I think I'll probably keep because I think it's one of those things that, because of the investment cost and the fact that we know Gutenberg is going to take over everyone in the next few years? I think you need to have tools in your arsenal that make the whole site design process a little easier and I think this is one of those things that's worth looking into, but if you want me to take a look at it compared to some of the other basic tools you have to work with with gutenberg, like cadence for example, let me know in the comments section below, as always, all the links applicable to what I've covered in today's video, including the link at the time of recording this to the kubele option in appsumo will be in the description below.
If you have any comments, questions or feedback about kubly or cadence or anything else when it comes to working with gutenberg berg, please leave them in the comments section because I would love to hear them. from you as always my name is paul c this has been wp tets until next time take care
