Mar 16, 2024
Hello everyone, I hope you are well today. I'm here in beautiful Sedona, Arizona and for today's agenda I'm going to tackle the

broken

arrow

trail

on my

4runner

if you don't know what a

broken

arrow

trail

is. It is a 4x4 off-road trail that is approximately 4 miles long and is rated moderate to difficult. There are several glitches here that are a lot of fun, but the most popular is the Devil's Staircase and we'll see which one very soon. it's about increasing the challenge. I'm here alone so I'll have to get situated and I'll also do my best to try and capture as many images for everyone to enjoy.

I'll have to do it too. Please be very careful as I am alone but as this is a very popular trail there will be many others that will be on the trail including pink jeeps in case something goes wrong I will have to say that for the last two years I've covered quite a bit of ground, but this would be considered the hardest thing I've ever attempted, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I make it out in one piece without damage, but that being said, I'm at the trailhead and now I'm going to lower my pressure. tires and we're going to get very blue, so I'm here next to the underwater rock and I would say this is probably the second biggest obstacle to attack today. besides the one at the beginning, so yeah, let's see how it goes.

Yeah, okay, so I apologize if you hear some wind noise. I'm still working on getting a microphone. I'm actually trying to get the DGI microphone it's supposed to. It came out last January but they pushed the date back so now I don't have a micro so I realize if it's so beautiful you know I have a three inch lift and the tires are about 33 inches and there's only one line that you can take and if you take that line you pretty much shoot yourself to the end, so I'm going to stay here a little bit longer and then we'll continue again.

Now okay, now we are at Mushroom Rock, there was an obstacle as you may have seen in the video and I was a little worried about it, but the precursor climbed it quite smoothly and yes, this is Mushroom Rock. I'm just going to take some photos, take the foreigner and then we'll move on, so now our route is down, I don't know from the video if you guys can tell how steep it might be, but it looks like it should be okay, I guess I don't know, I'm questioning it, but I'll have to improvise, otherwise I'm stuck here.

Ah, okay now folks, so this is the devil's staircase and it's pretty steep. The area I'm most concerned about is this section here, which is like the beginning of the devil's staircase. You've got this big rock that's in the way, so you either go over it to where it's below you or you try. to squeeze to the left here and the only thing is you've got that rock sticking out of the side, but it looks like most cars fit around here so I'm going to go down and set up my camera. and I'm crossing my fingers that I get out of here in one piece.
Alright folks, that was the trail of the broken arrow. I have to say it was probably the most exciting trail I've ever done before. It was full of everything. from the views to the technicality and for the precursor it worked quite well. I heard some banging underneath, but I checked it out and everything seems pretty good. Going down the Devil's Staircase I hit the underside a couple of times and for the most part it was relatively easy, but it was just a matter of looking at a certain angle, going down and then getting the tires to skid on the rock and eventually sense, lose control, but then you just hit the brakes and you're pretty good, but yeah. my predecessor I'm using 285 and I have a three inch lift and for the most part everything else is stock like I don't have skid plates or anything but with everything I have I made it.
Through this trail it is relatively easy, you know, you just have to be a little careful, make sure you choose the right line and overall, I must say that this was again the most exciting trail I have done before. I will definitely return. Here again so yeah I highly recommend coming here it's getting late now I have to go find a place to camp so I hope you enjoyed the video. If you have any questions about the precursor or about the path, go ahead and leave. I know otherwise I'll see you in the next video, peace.
