The tools themselves are that intuitive. I would love to do it roughly. The workflow from 3ds Max to Halo 3 wasn't smooth at all and I spent quite a bit of time setting up automation to smooth it out, but it was easier, Inferno, if you look at it somehow. I feel like we definitely should. I would love to have this broken down somehow and just put it together yourself or like, uh, Ikea mod, just so you know, we probably can't use that name because the branding is correct, but it would be really fun to see people get mad trying to putting this together and it also gives a new appreciation for how Inferno is able to put this together and I tend to be a bit of a perfectionist with these things and they always cost me a lot of time, a great example of this is with the lighting on location, a smart man just I would have left the Fulbright maps with the shadows turned off because there is simply no reasonable way to light this type of scene that Halo primarily uses. static light mapping that doesn't really work well with destructible environments, but I was stubborn and invested a lot of time and effort into creating a decent lighting solution for this mod.
The way it works is that the maps are lit with mostly flat ambient lighting and minimal shadows inside the play area, while outside the play area shadows are generated normally. I then turn off Dynamic Shadows on all blocks on the map, as having an individual Shadow for each block causes a lot of overlap and creates inconsistent, dense Shadows that look really bad. sense, then I have to model a shell of the main structures on the map and overlay it on the play area, this shell will act like Photoshop, but he is applying it as a layer two, so if the structure is layer one, apply this shell a little. also as layer two and casts the shadow of layer two, it's a fake shadow caster for the map for this to work, although I had to compile a custom shader for the mod thatdiscards pixels of a specific color during the alpha test, but still applies those pixels during the shadow mappers depth step yes, I'm going to play.
I'm halfway through playing this. I'll definitely be playing it to support Inferno and some more downloads. This is beautiful, as is the amount of work that has gone into this. I ran a simulation of the lighting in 3ds Max and rendered the shadows on a transparent texture and then just pasted that texture onto a flat plane slightly under water and there you have it, an overly complicated solution to a trivial problem, but no fun. ends here.
I'm another important detail, this project was trying to make destruction as satisfying as possible, so instead of just making blocks disappear when you hit them, I created debris for each block so that when you blow up a wall with a rocket launcher, It breaks into a zillion small pieces that fly in different directions, bouncing and bouncing off everything in the area. I mean, this is the reason we play Battlefield, right? Remember that in the past we were also like Battlefield Bad Company, in that we played it not only for the most accurate gunplay, like it had to compensate for the drop of a bullet when you passed people on the map, right?
It felt so good, oh my god, I miss it. There are also much more subtle things, like grass being shredded by gunshots, books flying off shelves, and following me, you were shaken off the tree when you blew it up with a grenade. All of these little things add up and help create a more authentic life. and the whole experience, for example these three didn't have to bounce around as much, the fact that physics is applied that way is nothing since the master doors are actually working doors that you can open and close, but you can also just beat them. a pulp if you want it's an unnecessary detail but it adds little gameplay interactions that wouldn't otherwise exist oh my god it's a snap this is an infinite meme content generator like you could have a very successful engine like Halo in the engine here with the Como Inferno, you're spearheading the next generation of Halo content like Halo cinematic content, like opening this door to shoot someone and then closing it when they shoot and also another fun little element that I particularly like is the mystery chest every 60 seconds, a player can open this chest and a random weapon or power-up will appear instead of having a fixed power weapon on the map.

I spent three months working on this project at the beginning of the year not knowing that it was completely broken and I know it sounds impossible. I had to have been testing it correctly. It's because the Halo 3 modding tools have a debug mode that allows you to test your mods without having to compile and launch MCC and since it can take five or ten minutes to compile a mod that we only tested in MCC when we were in multiplayer and , yes of course this crash didn't happen in debug mode, it just happened when playing the mod in MCC right now, it's an absolutely masterful coder.

I'm trying to remember what Dark Souls 1 was made of. I don't remember what it was. I thought it was Unity. I'm sorry, I think it was unreal. um, sure coding is code, but he's very good at what he does. What I will say. Inferno is masterful and I don't say that word lightly. Eldon Ring came out and I started working on other projects and I just forgot about it for a while and then one day MCC got an update and the bug was fixed, the developers actually bothered to fix a bug that only affects modders.
I even express how much I appreciate that this mod would never have been released if it weren't for some radical guy on a 343 who took time out of his day to fix a mistake by some annoying YouTuber. I guess it's true because it's coded in I I guess it's coded in a real script like Kana now that you mentioned it yeah it's not just numbers it's yeah I know it's code and scam and it makes sense um but oh god mine, like the Elden ring was the new one and then the Eldon ring came that's how it actually felt like that's really it's um not like three four three especially the MCC team is doing great right now as they are they're just vibing they're doing their thing they're just like the MCC team it's like I feel like they're getting along really hard right now like they're the guy that the goats guess like guys.
I don't normally jungle but I will jungle in this game, not that I play a lot of mobas but yeah. There's not enough experience, right, and he's just like, "Okay, I'm going to go jungle and this is like 20, while everyone else is like 10."
