Mar 10, 2024
Hello everyone, welcome back to my channel, so today is special, it is very special anyway, this video is part of a

mystery

, it is not a

mystery

box, a mystery task, a mystery demand, I don't know, okay, so here's the deal some of us made. and we're going to be very creative today, um, so I'm not going to give too much away, but let's say Trash to Tesoro, that's what we'll do, we'll say

trash

,

trash

to Tesoro and we'll just go with that. Without further ado, let's get into DIY number one, so I have this container with those Downy beads that you put on your clothes anyway.

I'm cutting the plastic label and then I'm going to take my smell would be appropriate for what I'm making, so now I'm grabbing some jute twine that I bought from Amazon. It is a thicker cord than I normally get. I think it was an accidental request, but it worked great for this project, so I'm fine, I forgot about this. I'm partially sorry, so I took some of the deep black from the home decor I have. I don't remember, sorry guys, but I just painted two coats of black paint on the bottom and now I'm going to take this cord and I'm going to wrap it completely around this plastic bottle container anyway, and I used my high temperature and I thought I probably shouldn't have done it because I could have melted it, but I did.

So it all came together, so I'm going to um, I'm not going to touch on too much of this, but oh, the first loop that I did I cut like at the end and um, so it started out a little bit flat and I was going to do that all the time, but man oh man that would have taken forever so I did this first loop and then I did a continuous loop the rest of the way up if that makes any sense so anyway here I'm going to show you. I'm going to bore you to tears for a moment.

I tried to put it together as much as possible so you couldn't see the bottle and I think it did a good job with that. Once I started going higher up on the bottle, like after I got the first ring, I started putting the hot glue more or less on the taping loop that's already underneath, as opposed to the bottle itself, you'll see in Wait a minute, I think. maybe you don't, I don't know, but I tried really hard not to have a gap when I went to the next level with the loops and I apologize for going a little outside the frame.

I'm still working on my setup. I just got a tip from Teresa at teresabead DIY and I'm going to try the next one. I've been getting some feedback about the view and I'm really working on it guys. So I apologize, but anyway, once I get to the top, I'm just going to go around the top and actually go in a little bit at the top just to cover the edge of the bottle and then just I hot glued the end inside. so that it is not so visible so once this is done I have this ribbon or jute that has like small silk leaves.
I bought it from BB Crafts, so what I'm going to do is just roll it up and put it up what is going to be a vase, hence the smell, because I'm going to put artificial flowers in there, but it will still have that nice aroma from the bottle at least for a while, so anyway, like I said, I'm going to wander around. and above this vase with this jute we will call it Vine, how is that? Now looking back I should have moved it up and down but I didn't and I like how it turned out so I bought these flowers from Sola. wood flowers I'm going to do an unboxing but they arrived while I was doing this project, it was perfect timing so I think this is called Lake tide or something, you just saw it anyway but it's a lot of Blues and something So. cream colored flowers, so I picked the three I liked the most, cut the stem off as much as I could and hot glued them together in a sort of bunch like you can see here.
Um, this is how they're going to sit in this vase and I think it turned out so pretty you'd never know it was a Downy bead bottle. I don't know exactly what they are called. I don't remember buying them. all the time, but I don't know what they're called, so anyway, once I glued all the flowers on, that was it for this one, I think it turned out really pretty and I ended up just putting in some eucalyptus. I got it from Teemu and I think it's beautiful let me know what you think of this okay guys so this video is part of the waist knot and it's a twist on a mysterious box hop that a group of us creators , we got. together, including Brenda from rustic and Lace Kathy Joe from kathyjoe DIY Jackie from craft at Mimi's World Tammy from The Rusted Willow see from cjdiy Missy from crafty Cove Sarah from sunflowers and DIY and I that's a lot and there's a lot of talent there so they'll have all their channels as well as the playlist linked in the description box below so once you're done with my video head over to the playlist okay do it yourself number two like this I have some of these sweets.
I'm going to slaughter them. name, it's a fair rose anyway, took some of this black chalk paint and painted the whole thing with two coats and now I'm taking this antique gold rub and polish and one of those fan brushes and I'm just going over and I do a dry brushing mostly light but kind of heavy as you can see but I just go through everything and do the top and bottom and I actually do the inside of the bottom just rubbing and polishing and not in black because I mean it's a clear bowl so you can see the black from the inside anyway and I also have one of these wooden knobs that I got from BB Crafts and I painted it black and did the same thing, just with a brush. a little bit of that rubbing and polishing and apparently, as you can see, I did this before I painted the inside of this container and once I finished doing the inside of this box, that's it for this one, I think it turned out very, very nice . a little trinket box or something, a jewelry box or something, let me know what you think of this one, so I

want

ed to let you know that I'm on Instagram, Facebook, and Pinterest.
I also have a buy me a coffee if you

want

page. If you're interested in supporting my channel, the links will be in my description box below, so stop by and say hello. I'd love to hear from you so I hope you enjoyed those last two projects on this next project, it's my challenge project uh. We all gave each other a challenge item that they had to create using cardboard boxes or just cardboard so Sarah from sunflowers and DIY gave me my challenge and I gave Brenda from rustic and Lace her challenge so I'll have Brenda's channel too linked below. like the playlist um so once you're done with my video go to the playlist and see what everyone did you'll be surprised these are super talented creators that I'm dealing with here which I scared. first, but this project I really thought was going to be, I don't want to say easy, but I really thought I was going to do it, I find it easier with it than before, but I think I'm done.
I'm okay, I think you guys will be half impressed, so anyway, let's get back to it and let me know in the comments below what you think of this challenge project and again there will be a playlist linked in my description box below . So when you're done with my video go to the playlist and see what everyone did so enjoy it okay here we go do it yourself number three so I have these two boxes that I bought stuff from Amazon like this I just cleaned the labels. and stuff and tape as much as I could and then I taped the boxes shut.
Now Nico is going to be my helper today, so you'll be seeing quite a bit of him, but anyway, once I have the boxes taped together as best I can. um, yeah, I'll move on to the next step. I'm fine, so I'm going to stack it there. There's your first clue, so I bought this wallpaper from Amazon and it looks like a pile of rocks. Now I was going to wrap it. around the boxes, but because of the way the bricks are arranged in the wallpaper, I have to do it lengthwise, so I struggled a little with that, I was trying to roll up and stuff, but anyway once that I had everything lined up Above, I'm just going to cut the ends where I need to cut them and then I'm going to wrap both boxes with this wallpaper.
Now this wallpaper is like it was a sticker, so, but it was really. It's very easy to work with, I mean, other than it rolling up on me, just wrapping the boxes was pretty easy to do, so I'm just showing you a little bit of the wrapping. It's like wrapping a gift, you know. how to do that I don't want to bore you too much so yeah and then I just folded the sides and then on the narrow sides as you can see here I just cut a narrower strip to put on the sides. just to cover the whole box and there you have it and now I'm going to take my glue gun and first of all I tried to glue them together but one of the sides was a little bit concave so it didn't like to stick to the box, so I took one of those wooden planks from the Dollar Tree and glued it in the middle and that was enough to hold it together and now I'm just adding a little bit. more hot glue just to make sure everything stays in place once it dries because I want to hide where they are attached so it's a little more transparent.
I just took small strips of the wallpaper and put them to the side. from the top box and then down to the bottom box, if that makes sense, you can see what I'm doing here, it's not rocket science, so I left this in but I didn't end up using it, but this is one of those dishwashers. containers for the little pod things, um and also the lid from that Downy bead bottle that I used in my first project, so I wrapped this container with the wallpaper, but it doesn't really matter because I didn't end up using it, but it's definitely something you could do if for some reason you were to recreate this piece.
I don't know why you would do it, but you never know, maybe like a birthday party or something, but anyway, now I'm taking these bamboos. I bought sticks on Amazon. I've had them forever and I still have a ton of them so I use them but not as often but I'm cutting some up anyway. I didn't write down the measurements and I can't. Remember, but I would say maybe six or eight inches and then I cut some smaller ones and all I'm going to do is take the smaller pieces and attach them to the longer piece and to the longer piece, if that makes sense, you can see here.
What I'm doing, I mean I don't know, 12 or 15 inches, the longest, now the six or eight inch one wasn't long enough, so I ended up having to go back and extend it, which we'll get to shortly, but for now I'm going to take these shorter pieces and do a ladder type deal and make four of these. It's anyone's guess what I'm doing yet because I didn't tell you. I don't think so anyway, but you'll see, so I'm making four of these, like I just said. I'm not going to force you to see how all four are made, but I thought I'd stick with one, so once I finished gluing this ladder-like thing.
I'll make three more, but again I'm not going to make you look at them, so be patient while I get these because some of them, you know, I tried to cut them all off. the same length, but you know, when you line things up and you cut them, like if you cut a bunch of them, they get longer and longer as you go. I don't know, it happens to me anyway. I do not know. No. I don't know if it will happen to you, so now I have this half bead and I'm just going to hot glue it right in the center of this lid that came from one of those Better Homes and Gardens candles from Walmart, so once I did it, I'm going to hot glue these four pieces to this lid and make, you know, one at 12 o'clock, when at three o'clock, at six o'clock and at nine o'clock, but once have them all glued together.
That's when I realized I needed to extend them because they're too short for what I needed, so anyway, here I go now, I'm extending them, so I just looked at where I wanted to cut it and I'm going to cut four more of these long pieces and then a few more of these short ones to continue with this little ladder thing now again. I'll put you through this first one, but I'm not going to force you to watch me fix all four. of these pieces, so, yes, I'm going to torture you for this first one, but after that you won't be bored with this anymore.
Now I'm going to grab some of these rings from the Dollar Tree and a couple of popsicle sticks that I started with. just two of these rings, but I had to add two more because it wasn't as tall as I needed it to be, so then I just took the popsicle sticks and put them on, you know, on the base here and I'm going to crisscross them just because I wanted to. something small to be able to glue something more substantial than just the ring to glue too, everything will be clear. I promise anyone will guess when they do it.
I know I know some of you have it, so here I am, I'm putting it on the back of the lid and now I have the boxes on a suitcase, one of the suitcases, and a vase, avery tall vase, and I'm putting the blades. my windmill, yes a windmill in the boxes, now I ended up having to remove it again because the wallpaper was peeling off the cardboard boxes due to the weight of the lid and the blades, so I removed it and just used I used my box cutter and removed the wallpaper and tape from that section so it could adhere directly to the cardboard, so once I taped it down I took some more wallpaper and went around the rings. to cover the rings, I don't know if I should have done that or if I should have painted it or whatever because I mean, there are bricks there and I mean, how is it supposed to spin if there are bricks holding it up, but forget about that and just tell me how awesome this is, so once I put the wallpaper on, that was it for this one.
I think it turned out super adorable. It's something simple, but I think I achieved what I set out to do. I don't know, you have to leave it. I know, Sarah, I hope I made you proud and, uh, Brenda, I'm so sorry for what I made you do, but I have so much faith in you. I know you're going to make it. I want to thank all the

amazing

creators who allowed me to participate in this jump with them. I feel very honored. I hope you enjoyed this video. If you go ahead and give it a big thumbs up, it really helps me if you're new to my channel or coming over. from the playlist, welcome.
