crafts that you still have time to make and display now that you've probably taken down your Christmas decorations, so with all that being said, let's get crafting. Today's first DIY will be this paint stick snowman. I'm going to use two three-packs of five-gallon paint sticks from Lowe's, some of this fun orange foam, and some Greenery, some puffy paint.

The first thing I'm going to do is take one of those paint sticks and cut it to about 12 inches and then lay it out. Another five face down. I'm taking some of these giant craft sticks from Walmart, cutting off the ends, and I'm going to use my wood glue to glue about five of these pieces to the back of my other paint sticks to hold them in place. together so here is my paint stick that I cut out. I'm going to draw it at an angle. This lets me know where I'm going to stop my white paint and then paint black on top of that line, so using my White Waverly chalk paint I'm just going to Give most of these paint sticks a coat of white and then flip them over like I said.

I'm going to paint the rest red over the line with my black chalk paint. I'm also going to paint the paint stick we cut black. Okay this will be the brim of the snowman's hat, once everything is dry I'm going to use my hot glue to stick that cut paint stick into the space where the two paint colors meet and now we have our snowman and your hat up, then we'll take this. piece of fun orange foam. I'm going to draw a carrot nose for our snowman for free. You could use this foam. You could use felt.

If you get any of the jute twine carrots from Dollar Tree around Easter, you could put one of those in just use your imagination and then use some of my Elmer's paint markers from Walmart. I'm going to draw some eyes on my snowman and we'll also use this paint marker to add some details to the nose and draw a smile too. Then I took some scissors and rounded those sharp corners of our carrot nose and we're going to glue this onto our snowman's face. I then wanted to add a bit of detail to the hat so I just used some assorted flowers and greenery that I have, they have a nice

winter

y look, not too Christmassy and some of these white winter berries too.

Next, I'll grab a piece of a red and black Buffalo plaid wool scarf from Dollar Tree. It's about a quarter of the entire scarf and I'm going to stick it here on this left side, we're going to wrap it around the snowman and then we're going to wrap it around like it's tied around your neck, just place it however you want. you want and then you can use a little glue to stick it on next for the finishing touch. I'm taking some puffy white paint. I bought this at Walmart and I'm just going to add this so there's a little bit of snow on top. from his hat dripping down and then also onto the brim of his hat and you really feel like this was the finishing touch that just added the necessary detail to this snowman and here it is finished, so cute and really only a few

dollar

s.
In supplies, you can make this really nice sized snowman to place on your porch or even next to your fireplace. For DIY number two, we're going to make some Let It Snow wooden blocks. You can use this idea with a variety of seasons and themes. In fact, I'm going to use four of these wooden cubes from Dollar Tree and this template allows you to snow from Magnolia, so even though I'm only showing three, I'll end up using four of these blocks. I'm just going to give each of my blocks a coat of my White Waverly chalk paint and then, taking this template from my magnolia website, I'm going to put a word on each of our blocks.
I'm going to need to use two blocks for the word snow, but here you can see I'm making the word let and I'm using this dark blue chalk paste, so let and I'm going to flip the template over and I'm also going to add one of these cute

snowflakes

. snow in the top corner. Then I took two blocks and I've hot glued them together so they don't move and I'm using them for these two

snowflakes

and also the word snow and in our fourth and last cube we'll make the word with another snowflake or two, now you can arrange your blocks in a line like this or go ahead and put all four of them together in a square, tie them with a piece of Dollar Tree Buffalo Check Wired Ribbon and you will have a really cute shelf for winter or something you can add to a tiered tray if You are visiting my channel for the first time today, welcome.

So YouTube should let you know every time I upload a new video or post it here on my channel and if you are one of my returning viewers or subscribers, thank you very much for coming back and your continued support. DIY number three is fun. you can make with some recycled cans. I'm using some larger soup cans and some smaller ones too. I'm using this little disk for one of the hats and we'll also use this little saucer and these smaller ketchup cans for a smaller one. snowman, so it would probably be easier to paint your cans with white spray paint.
However, I didn't have any, so I'm going to give all of these cans, these three cans, a coat of White Waverly chalk paint and then once they're dry, I'm going to hot glue them together, stacked three high, I have other cans, one more of these tall ones, that I'm going to spray with black paint for part of this snowman's hat, so we'll stack those three nice and high, here's the little log. which we're going to use along with that black can for our snowman's hat, so we'll just go around the edge of the black can with some hot glue and then we'll stick it in the center of the disk.
Basically the same with our smaller cans, our snowman, and I'm using this little teacup saucer. You can use the lid of a larger can for this and just stick the small can on top. I'm actually gluing the snowman's body to the saucer and then we'll glue the top of the hat on as well for the snowman's scarves. I'm using some strips of a plaid fabric that I bought at Walmart and I'm just using a Sharpie marker to draw some ovals for some eyes. It's a little difficult with the bumpy ridges on the can, but do your best, it's handmade.
Correct. Use the Sharpie for a smile as well and then I'll draw the shape of a nose with a pencil and then I'll take some of my orange acrylic paint. with a very fine brush to paint the orange on the nose, if you have an orange paint marker, you can use that too. I then used a white paint marker to add a little accent to the black part of the snowman's eyes. then I went back to my Sharpie and outlined the noses of the carrots with a bit of an accent, mainly to hide the fact that they were a bit rough with these bumps, then I can add some lines to make it look like a carrot and do the same thing. to the smallest snowman also to decorate our

snowmen

's hats.
I'm going to take some ribbon and wrap it around the base of the hat just using the Dollar Tree ribbon and some hot glue to secure them in place. We'll also add some greenery and some Christmas flowers that you want, whatever you have on hand as well for the hats and finally we'll tie some scarves like I said with this material that I bought at Walmart, it was a fat quarter and pretty inexpensive, just find something that you like it Just like with whatever colors you like for your color scheme, tie it up, glue it in place and your cute little snowman is ready to display wherever you want.
DIY number four, we're going to make some snowflakes out of falling tower blocks if you can't find them. falling tower blocks, you could take this same idea and use gallon paint sticks cut into different lengths, so what I'm going to do with the falling tower blocks is make three lines of six blocks glued end to end with the wood glue this will be for a snowflake and then I'm also going to make three lines of five falling tower blocks. We will also make a snowflake a little smaller so you can see to the left, here I am painting all three. lines that have six and then the ones on the right each have five up at the top.
I have some individual tower blocks that we are going to paint and glue together, so here are my three lines of six that count tower blocks. I'm stacking them and gluing them in the center to make a kind of base of the snowflake, to shape the six points of the snowflake. I'm going to do the same thing with my lines of five falling tower blocks and then like that. I said we're going to use those individual blocks and I'm going to show you how we're going to glue them together to make our snowflake shapes, so for our smallest snowflake these have five long sticks, we're just going to take one. and glue it on the end like a T and that will be the finish of that snowflake.
Then for our larger snowflake, we'll take two falling tower blocks and glue them together at angles like this just to give it a different look. the ends of this snowflake and that's it, you can really use your imagination, make them as big or as small and different as you want, a really inexpensive way to add some winter decor for a complete list of all the supplies you've used in today's projects. Check the description box under the title of this video. You usually have to press a small down arrow to open it. There you will see a complete list of each project, as well as links to my Magnolia Design Co. website and my Amazon store for DIY number five, we are going to make a fun winter wreath with this little owl ornament, a wreath of your choice, it's like a wicker wreath, I would have preferred a floral foam one, but we're going to also use three of these microfiber dust cloths that you can also get at Dollar Tree, so we're just going to cover the wreath, whatever it is whatever type of wreath you have, with three of these microfiber cloths to give it a nice snowy look in winter and not.
It won't take long to glue them on, you're just going to glue the center around the wreath there and then in the middle where the dust cloth attaches, you'll try to keep it on the inside of your wreath, but just use hot glue and you should be able to wrap three of these around your crown now. If your wreath is a little larger or smaller, you will need to adjust the amount of these you use, but I can almost always. Find these white microfiber cloths at my Dollar Tree now for my wreath decorations. I'm using some items I have on hand left over from Christmas.
One is this owl that was an ornament and I'm just gluing it to one of the sides. inside my wreath again adding this greenery and these little plastic pine cones that were also part of the ornament, then I'll grab a package of the little green bottle brush Christmas

tree

s that I bought from Dollar Tree. I think there are about six. there and removed a little bit of the base so I could put hot glue on the metal there and get it into my wreath through the microfiber cloth. Now if you had a foam wreath it would be easier for this step, you can glue it on.
The bases also make like a small forest inside your crown. Now, taking this wired burlap ribbon, I'm going to show you a different way to put together a bow. I'm making a bow here and then I'm tying it in the center. Using some jute twine to get the two loop parts of our bow that we're going to put on our wreath, tie that into a very tight knot and then you can cut off the excess twine and then you can see I have another piece. That's just a straight piece, we're going to tie the ends together and then we're also going to tie that in the center.
Now what I could have done is placed the bow on top of the straight piece and tied them all at the same time. but do whatever method works for you, then I'll take another smaller piece, fold it into thirds and wrap it and hot glue it around the center part of the bow just to finish off the bow and cover the jute. yarn from there when you have the three pieces together we will glue them together and attach them to our wreath and here is our finished snowy owl winter wreath. You could really change this up with any ornaments or decorations you have and this will be super cute before February 6th.
DIY is another fun snowflake craft. I'm going to reuse a couple of 12 by 12 wrapped canvases. I'm going to use some gallon paint sticks and some of these wooden snowflakes from a local thrift store now. This was a project we did in the summer. I'm just going to use myrazor blade to remove the canvas from these frames. I love these really pretty wooden frames and you will also need a staple remover once it gets to the frame. from my canvas I'm going to use my old wax, apply it with a brush and then wipe off the excess just to give a nice dark stained look to our wooden frames.
I'm going to make two of these and then I'm going to grab like I said a couple of these wooden snowflake shapes. I bought mine at a local craft store. You can find them at Hobby Lobby at Michaels or you can even make your own snowflakes with craft sticks. I'm going to fill in the holes and then I'm going to paint one of my wooden snowflakes with crimson red and the other I'm going to paint with navy blue acrylic paint. Next I will need 10 paint sticks for each of my signs and I am going to paint all 20 paint sticks with pool blue.
I may have had to trim them a little to get them to the right size for the back of our frame, so once I have them all lined up, I'll take hot glue one at a time. time I'm going to glue these paint sticks that are painted with pool blue on the back of each of our frames of our canvases, this will give us a nice backdrop for our snowflakes. Then once we have those paint bars on both frames, we can just take some heat. Glue and stick our painted snowflakes to the center of each sign and here is our finished snowflake art.
I love them. I feel like they are so classic, of course you can change the colors to whatever you prefer for your winter decor for DIY number seven. We're going to make some super cute winter gloves using two of these navy blue kitchen gloves, two more microfiber cloths and some greenery or flowers of your choice, so taking the cloth I'm going to place it where I want. on the oven mitt to make it look like a winter mitten with a cute furry cuff and then just all we're going to do is use hot glue to stick it on one small area at a time on our oven mitt that we don't want.
However, we need to glue our oven mitt closed because that's where we're going to fill it with some greenery, so keep wrapping and gluing the dust, uh, cloth. I think this is a super cute and

easy

idea. You could make this with red oven mitts at Christmas. It's time to also make some Santa Claus gloves and fill them with Christmas flowers. Now I'm going to use two different wooden snowflake ornaments from Dollar Tree. I'm going to be like we did in the last project. I'll paint them red and then I have a couple smaller ones. I think they are from Hobby Lobby and I am going to paint them white.
We'll add them as a little bit of decoration on that white, furry part of each of our gloves, you can see. I'm placing a smaller snowflake on top of the center of a larger one and then we're going to glue it to the white, furry part of each of our mittens. Then the last step for these is just take your time with hot glue inside the oven mitt and you can pinch in there any greenery or florals or any other decorations that you want to add in there, so I'm going to do both pretty much the same using these different greens that I have, as well as some winter berries.
Looking at things now, once you have the flowers or The Greenery, you can add the twine hanger to the back or what I did was just hang them on the wall. I pushed a pin from inside the oven towards the wall. through the back of the oven mitt. I hope that makes sense, but find a way to hang them. You could tie them up and hang them on your door. It's super cute for winter. If you are on Facebook. I would like you to come. Check out my Monarch Mom DIY Facebook page, be sure to follow me.
I live there three times a week and do different projects than what I'm doing here on YouTube. DIY number eight will be another Mitten this time. I'm going to make a stuffed mitten door hanger using some polyester, stuffing, canvas fabrics, a little paint and this Magnolia template, so my method for making this was to first find the shape I wanted for myself. stuffed door hanger. I printed it from the computer and then I took a piece of cardstock because I wanted it big and I just put it in the center and traced around the shape trying to leave the same amount of space, so basically I'm enlarging this by the same amount, with good luck until the end. around and I'm free to draw it with my pencil, then we'll cut it out and use this larger mitten shape to trace on our canvas fabric.
Now this is a piece of fabric that is folded in half so that when you trace and cut this glove. You should have two that are pretty much the same, so we'll cut them out and then, like I said, we'll have two gloves. Let's put one of them aside and now we are. I'm just going to work with our front piece. First I'm going to paint this with my chalk paint. I'm going to draw a line where my little fist will be, that's where I'm going to change the paint colors and I'm going to glue it on. with Blues I'm going to paint most of this Mitten on the canvas with ocean and then we'll turn it over and do the lighter blue called pool on the cuff side and then we'll make sure it dries completely.
Before we move on to the next one, once our paint is dry, I'm going to take a piece of black and white checkered tape from Dollar Tree and stick it on where those two paint colors meet, just wipe it off and give it a little . add interest to our mitten, then just turn it inside out and fold the ends in, glue them together, this will be cleaner than trying to cut them and make them not fray etc. Now we are going to put our back piece back on. and we're going to glue them together a little bit, starting here at the cuff, like a straight area, and hot glue them on.
Now I've only glued my gloves around the light blue part of the cuff, but the next thing I want to do is grab my Magnolia Design Co stencil, you can find it at monarchmomdiy.com and I'm going to use some white chalk paste to stamp this image so cute on the front of our mitten while our stenciled image is drying, we can also grab this Magnolia paint marker and we're just going to add a little bit of detail around our Stuffy Mitten. I'm just doing lines and dots just to give it a little bit of a whimsical touch and To separate each of the sections of our mitten, once the stencil is dry and the paint marker is dry, we're going to start filling our mitten so we can get it ready to hang. on the door, so that the top is already glued. so I went ahead and filled it in as much as I wanted, then I'm just going to glue one section at a time and glue some more until we get to the bottom of our mitten where we'll do the final filling. and finish gluing it completely last.
I'm just going to add a piece of jute twine to the back of the plushie, just making sure to glue it really well under the twine and also on top, once it's completely dry you can hang it. your door, you could add a bow to this or some more greenery and flowers if you wish. I like it plain and simple with the bright colors and the beautiful template, all for DIY number nine, let's make some of these wooden blocks, snow friends. I'm going to use six more craft cubes, but I'm also showing you one of the wooden drawers.
If you can find some of these, you can also use the cubes from these. I just want to stack two smaller ones and two larger ones together, so like I said, I'm using six of the craft cubes and I'm going to glue them together with wood glue in three sets of two to make our three different snow friends. Now maybe you'd just like to do one or two of these ideas. I hope you like at least one of them. We are going to make a snowman, a penguin and a gingerbread person. So one of our pairs we're going to paint completely black. paint completely white and the third set will be this kind of nutmeg brown color that I have like acrylic paint from Walmart this will be our gingerbread person and then using a pencil I'm just going to draw some of the details and on this penguin .
Here we are going to paint this rounded area that I drew with white to be the center of our penguin. Most of the details on these three friends will be done with these Elmer's paint markers. I buy them at Walmart for any color black or even any color you can use Sharpies if you have them on hand you can also use acrylic paint if you have maybe like a toothpick or something small to make these little dots and noses that we're going to make for make some cute cheeks for our snowman and gingerbread. I took a very thin brush and mixed some pink with some white acrylic paint just to make this really light pink, but of course you can decorate them however you want, just take the idea and make it your own below.
I decided to highlight my puffy paint again, I didn't like how this white paint marker looked and for a gingerbread person this would be like icing so I decided to trace it with my puffy paint so it would stand up and look more like icing of cookie now. let's work on the penguin I also have an orange paint marker to make his beak and two little legs then we will also add some eyes and trace around the beak and legs with black and of course also Use the orange for our carrot nose snowman and also to finish off each of our friends.
I'm going to use a different thin ribbon to make a little scarf, we'll just tie it into a knot and then you can glue it on. Cut it however long or short you want for the snowman. We'll also hot glue one of these hat ornaments from Dollar Tree to the top of it to finish off our snowman and here are our three different wood block friends. I hope you liked these and you could definitely make more than one of each of these friends and finally for DIY 10 I'm going to take this wooden sled that I bought at a thrift store and renovate it for the winter.
You can also use one of the Dollar Tree Sleigh Signs and I do the same idea so this is a really light colored glossy oak so I'm going to start by painting my entire wooden sleigh with truffle, dark brown Waverly chalk paint and then I'll use a chippy brush. go over everything with white, obviously, even if it doesn't cover the brown, just to give it that old, worn look. I wanted to give this sleigh an antique look, so I'm using a very wide type of loose burlap ribbon. from Walmart I'm making a bow and then I'm tying it like you've seen me do before with jute twine in the center, we're going to do it twice so it's a really tight knot, but I'm not going to do that.
I still have to trim off the excess twine because I'm going to add one of these really pretty white Jingle Bell ornaments from Dollar Tree. It only has a very neutral ribbon and vegetation. I will also add. a couple more of these little silver bells from Dollar Tree as well just to add some interest to the center and then once they're all tied we'll go ahead and trim off the excess of our twine once we have everything organized how If you want, just we're going to stick this bow with the bells in the center of the top of our sleigh or sleigh whatever you prefer to call it and you can see I just added some greenery on top of the bow and that's our sleigh or sleigh makeover thank you very much again for being here today I would love to know which of these projects was your favorite and see you next time take care
