rugged

radio

s, our two. radio for

motorcycle

s ATVs you can use it for your TVs for snowmobiling any outdoor activity you can use this radio kit now I'll tell you right now as a driver if you haven't had a way to communicate with other riders on your group before it changes the rules of the game, it's something we love to have because not only is it great for safety reasons, if someone falls or someone has a problem with the bike, they can communicate to know exactly what's going on, but which is also fun. just to be able to talk to other people in your group while you're driving, this radio kit has a lot of great benefits that we're going to go over, we're going to talk about them, we're going to talk about exactly how it works. talk about what you'll get with the kit, but also at the end I want to do a quick comparison of this to a Bluetooth communications unit.

I think a lot of people watching this are probably also watching them trying to decide. Which will be best for them? We've used a lot of Bluetooth communication units here in Rocky Mountain, so we have a lot of experience, so I'll share some of my thoughts and some of the pros and cons of each. set up just to help you make a good decision so let's first talk about what you're going to get with this kit when you pick it up and then we'll go from there so first you have your radio so this is a 5 watt dual band radio.

More Interesting Facts About,

rugged radios v3 motorcycle atv 2 way radio kit...

I like this classification because it is nice and compact. Their light and resistant

radios

are very high quality equipment. I want to point out that it is not waterproof so if you are going to be in a situation maybe snowmobiling or if you are riding it is going to rain you want to have this in your backpack you don't want to get too wet so keep that in mind , but this is dual band, so you have UHF and VHF, now what? I recommend you read that it comes with an excellent instruction manual, but if you are not familiar with UHF and VHF, do some homework on that.

I'll just give you a little education on the ultra high frequency UHF sensor and most. writing situations that will be what cyclists will want to use just because it has shorter wavelengths, it's a little better when you have obstacles and things between you and the other person you're trying to communicate with, but again do your homework and that will give you will keep educating you so you know exactly what is going to be bad but now you have your radio a common question people ask is battery life so with this I talk to

rugged

radio people and they told me what to expect depending on usage it's about a full day so battery life is good but please note we sell an extra battery which will double the battery life.

It's not a bit bigger but you can get another battery so if you are going to use it for a longer time. maybe a multi day trip and you want to make sure you have enough battery you can buy that extra battery and that will double the battery life so you have that option and then the range as far as line of sight goes so what five watt spokes have good power, but line of sight is always going to give you the best chance of being able to communicate clearly with the other riders that you're talking to now if you're on an open stretch and you can see for a mile and a half.
Half a mile down the road you see the other cyclists, so yes, your signals will be transmitted, you'll be able to talk to those guys, but that's not the typical case in a driving situation, so normally you might be in the canyon, now the cyclists. up or on the other side, so keep that line of sight in mind, it will always give you the best chance of being able to communicate clearly, but there is an antenna that we sell that will be a larger antenna that you can pick up. it will increase the range so again you have a few options depending on if you know the range you think you're going to ride and honestly you know on a group ride you know if you're that far away from the riders that you are with that you can't communicating with them with the radio, you know, chances are you're too far away, you need to get a little bit closer to them, but again, for safety reasons, it's really good to have this. to be able to communicate, so that's your radio now also what you have to talk about is how to install this and set everything up so you have your helmet kit and I mean your helmet kit, you have two nice, high quality ones.
The speakers make a lot of sound. They have velcro on the back, so you can install them on your helmet. Now it depends on the helmet you have. Some of your dual sport adventure helmets already have cutouts for speakers, but many of your off-road motocross helmets. how much not, so you're going to set them up in the best possible location, as close to your ears as possible, and then you're going to have your boom mic, so with the boom mic you can see that you're going to move this and place it exactly where you want it.
What they recommend is having the microphone as close to your mouth as possible. You don't need it to be played close enough, but get it very close to get the best sound you can get. You'll notice it too. You also have another jack that's good for an audio device, so if you have an mp3 player or your smartphone, you can plug it in here and play some of your favorite beats while you type and then once you have all that installed, you have your body harness, so your body harness will connect right here to the main unit.
The nice thing about this connection is that these connections will probably be exposed and you will have this plastic casing here, so if you get it, this wet is not something you need to worry about, so you plug it in there and then you have this connection that will go directly to the radio, so once you have everything connected, this connection here will go to your push button. -to talk, the nice thing about this setup is that you have two options for using the radio in a driving scenario. You're going to want to use this push to talk right here, you can put it on your handlebars.
You have this velcro strap, you can put it on, maybe a strap on your backpack, wherever it's most convenient for you as a rider, where you feel comfortable using it, but you'll use that push-to-talk button that you don't have to use the radio because, like I said before, with the radio I would only recommend putting it inside your backpack. You can put it on a clip, but this will be the way to go, so once you have everything connected, you and your passengers. everyone is on the same channel and can now start talking to each other.
It's that easy. Some other great benefits are that if you are in a group, maybe you have a few people who are on their TVs with you. If you have a radio in their UTV, you will be able to talk to them as long as you are on the same channel. Another great thing I thought of is that if you're riding and you get off the bike and you still want to be able to talk to other riders but you don't have your helmet on, you can use the radio like any normal radio, you just unplug the helmet or the connection here to the body harness, you use the push to talk on the radio and you can still talk to everyone so you can use it like a normal two way radio and that leads me to say that if you're not riding and maybe you're camping and hiking, whatever whatever outdoor activity you are doing. a good high quality two way radio that can be used in many different situations other than on your motorcycle, which is why I like that this kit gives you good communication, but it also has many other great uses, so the last thing I'll show you quickly before comparing this to a Bluetooth communications unit is that there is also a headset included, so if you're not wearing your helmet, you're not using the speakers, you can use this. you only have one earpiece, you plug it into your radio, so now the audio comes through your earpiece instead of through the radio itself, so there's another great option to finish it all off.
I just want to compare this to a radio kit with a Bluetooth. communications unit and, you know, point out some of the most important differences to help you make a good decision because, like I said, we've used Bluetooth communication units a lot, so we have a lot of experience with them, so let's talk first. You know, some of the cons of this two-way radio and I wouldn't really call them cons, it's something you have to keep in mind. One is that there is a lot going on here about what the Bluetooth communications unit is. It's pretty simple, you just plug it right into your helmet and then you just have the wiring harness inside the helmet and that's all you have to worry about, but with this you know that once you install it you have the body harness that comes out I also have push to talk, so there are more cables, more things to take into account.
It won't be a deal breaker but it is something to keep in mind, but what I like about this is the reliability and reason. What I'm saying is because with a Bluetooth communications unit, if you've ever used one of those, you probably know that in some cases there's a lot of technology packed into those things and sometimes it can be a little complicated, especially when having multiple riders. , all connected. I'll give you a great example, not long ago. I was on a group trip here in the Rocky Mountains. We had about five or six riders, all connected, everyone could hear each other talking and for some reason we couldn't.
Figure it out, I couldn't connect my Bluetooth communicator to the group so I could talk to it, so during the day I was a holy rider not being able to communicate with the two way radio, that's not something I was worried about. This is because you get a nice reliable two way radio, as long as you and all the other users are on the same channel, you will have good communication as long as you are within the range we talked about before, so that's the one aspect Of this that I really like is another thing that I would have to take into account; and again, this will be a rider preference.
Whatever you prefer is the Bluetooth communications unit, you will be able to have group conversations, in other words, you will be able to hear everyone. Talking at the same time in most cases with this will be just one rider talking at a time, so those are the big differences, but again, you take the ones you weigh and figure out what you feel will be best and that goes. to help you decide but if you have any more questions or comments we'll be happy to provide those answers so make sure it's tagged below and to choose one of these you can click the link or head over to Rocky Mountain atv. /mc comm remember all orders over $75 ship free you like these products drop want to see more like this subscribe to the Rocky Mountain You Tube channel and that way you will stay updated.
