HOW TO INSTALL STRUT SPACERS 2016 COLORADO

Guys welcome back to the Australian customer shop today we're going to be doing some upper stop

right at the front just some 40 mil

spacers

so I'll explain a little bit about how to do it. It shouldn't be too difficult and it shouldn't take too long if I need minimal tools to do it, so I'll give it a quick measurement once I get into the shop here just to see how much higher we'll go. in the end, so I'll take it to the store and get a tape measure, okay, so this is what I have, what I have for it, just cheap on eBay, club-centric style, headspaces, I think like 110 dollars off. eBay so yeah it's cheap and there's supposed to be a one to one ratio so this 40k should lift it about two inches or so I'd imagine on the front but obviously it all depends on shock droop and of the springs too, but yeah, I'll get out the tape measure and we'll measure the front real quick and, um, just rough measurements and we'll go from there, okay, about in the center of the wheel, so I'm at 8 65 for the right. .

Go with your hand to the passenger side here about center center again and 865 on point for that one as well, so it's probably a little difficult to see the inside of the tent here, but obviously I'm going to take the tape measure and measure what that the rear height is lower, so the rear, obviously, because this car has been around for a while, it will be a little bit higher in the rear, anyway, 945 for the rear, so there is a good amount of difference there, so two inches should roughly balance it out. back off, hopefully I'll throw it into the hoist, now start those front wheels and yeah, we'll continue from there too if you haven't subscribed to the channel, subscribe, like, share. and yeah we'll try to get this channel going a bit more, it's been a bit difficult with the lockdown here in Dubbo, it's been an absolute fight so I haven't really been filming, I haven't actually been allowed to leave. house in about a month and a half so it's the first real opportunity I've had to get here so I'm going to get the car serviced here as well and before we end up moving to Queensland if there ever is borders. opens up nice first things first obviously take the front wheels off so obviously I have a set of 20 on this with the stupid cover so they're all there in case I rip them off on one side and undo them. wheel nuts which I'm pretty sure are 21 mil okay so none of the wheel nuts are actually 19 mil so they should all come off.

I'll rip them all off and take the wheels off and come back to you, okay? Then both wheels are off on both sides, so what you're going to want to do is undo the three nuts on the top of the

strut

. Also from what I can gather you want to undo these four four upper control arm bushings, uh, probably undo the stabilizer bar. also and I imagine trying to help it get down a little bit more, possibly undoing the abdominal cable in the back that runs along the top, um just to let it drip a little more, but what I'll do and possibly a break. maybe just the breakage, I don't know, but what I'm going to do, I'm going to tear it apart and we're going to do a step by step with you guys, okay, so the first thing is to undo the upper control arm with just two. 12 mils, okay, so I just undid the brake line, um, 12mm at the top, there, um, abs, there was another 10, uh, 12 mil, right at the top, here, just to give a little bit more room to move, so now undo the sway bar link under the The bottom of the shock will be under the top of the shock so they look like a 14 Ishmael, what size are they? 15 15 thousand, so I'm going to go in there now and undo it, okay, so I got a little ahead of myself. but I undid the three 40 mil nuts on top and I also undid the size of that three quarter nut on the underside of the shock, so now I'll see, get a hammer and tap it out.

It's going to turn out beautiful and I'll see how I perfect it. Well guys, I applied some red loctite to the threads. They have to reuse the old um 14 mills that they took over. Other than that, the kit I have came with new ones, but they don't seem to be the right thread, so I just reused the old ones, they're only 14 mil. You snuck them in, obviously, make them in a cross shape, okay? Well guys, that strut is fine to go back in, so there's a little finesse getting it back in, it's not too bad, it'll probably be a little harder with the spacer, we'll put it in there, okay? sitting in place now I just had to push the engine, lower control arm down just to get it into place, so grab all these new washers and stuff, now put some loctite just on the threads and pry them up, Alright? all done just releasing the lower shock bolts now I just had the jerry put in a jack and some um rhs just so I could get it up a little bit more just so I could get the um that bolt through um no too It's hard , I'll probably have to use it again to lift it up so I can

install

the upper control arm bolts, but it shouldn't be that bad, okay guys, we're done.

I've done a little. of a service at the same time, just differentiate the oils and fluids and all the filters, so now I'm trying to measure it, it has raised it quite high, I probably hadn't seen it on camera, but it was 865. last time, so let's see how much it increases this time approximately in the center again, so I'll call it 9 15. Yes, 950 on that side, so what is approximately 50 thousand 50 thousand and this side is nine 920, a discrepancy of five thousand. I'm not too worried about that, so it's only two inches and it's 9 40.
