Campinawe Walkthrough - Environmentally Conscious, Rugged, and Low Maintenance!

Mar 19, 2024
foreigner hello everyone, I'm Gina, I'm Tim, welcome to adventures with Beckenback. So today we're going to show you a tour of our new Campana trailer. We've had it for about six weeks and have camped in it for about three. times so we thought it's time to give you a tour hopefully the wind doesn't make too much noise hey short interruption the wind was really strong in some of the clips so we recorded some of the audio to spare you that horrible noise . Well, then you'll probably notice some difference in the audio. We learn something with every video we make.

Anyway, back to the tutorial. Well, we'll start the tour here at the front and talk about some of the options we have. The first option we have while working is electric brakes for the Campana trailer size. I think it's like a 2000 pound gross vehicle weight. They are not really necessary for everything, but we thought about getting the electric brakes, would you know they make it easier with Hecamax brakes? So another option on the front is the easy hitch that comes with the Campana. It doesn't require a lock or bolt or anything on the hitch pin. Then they also offer a cat. wheel, we didn't think we'd be rolling so we didn't go with that, so the next thing that comes with the cabinet trailer is an extra two inch receiver mount for a bike rack or a storage box, uh, the tongue of the Campanoff trailer extends 18 inches.

More Interesting Facts About,

I think it's in six inch increments so you can mount your storage box or bike rack, so I think camping and everyone will install a bike rack, which is one of the options that you can get as well. So another option we chose was to have the spare tire mounted on the side; the standard is to have it underneath, but with our physical abilities we felt it was better to have it mounted on the side and who should be crawling under the trailer if you have a flat tire and try to remove it, so the only disadvantage is that it blocks the marker light on the fender so you can't see the marker light with the spare tire here so right now we're shopping for a tire cover and a fun and interesting tire cover for our spare tire here okay one of the things Good things about trailer camping is that it's made to be off-grid, it comes with a Renergie power pack, but it also includes a place where you can plug it in.

Shore power 110 volts, well not even shore power, if you have a generator or you have a portable power pack, a big one like a jackery or one of those, uh, you can plug it in there, we have the vent for the air . The air conditioner is actually the intake for the air conditioning that we'll show when we get in and get our Yeti. What are Tim's favorite parts? The back part. The kitchen here will show in a few minutes several of the open compartments here, so. We'll talk about all that after we finish the rest of the tour, okay here's the front with the door and one of the things we already added is this exterior light, so it didn't come with an exterior light and I think there are some lights exteriors in the kitchen, but we thought it was a good idea to have a light here by the door, so this is something that Tim added and then we got a step which was another of the first things we got.

Portable step here because I have short legs and that makes it a little easier to get in, especially on uneven ground. Well, another option we have is roof rails, so we're still not exactly sure what we want to add as far as a shelf. Although they have options for that, you can add canopies, things like that. We wanted to take it a little slower and think more about how we wanted to use it before making a decision on a rack, but I'll let Tim come up. up there so you can climb up the fenders here to get to the roof and then I'll hand you the camera so like Gina said the roof rails were installed by camping outside the bug it didn't come with the trailer we picked it up.
On the way well here's the inside so every camp and everything comes with the yeti and we just got back from a camp last weekend and we haven't fully cleaned it yet so excuse a little bit of dirt on floor. mat to get out and this is removable so the floor can pick it up hose it out to get that kind of thing off so we need to do a little bit of cleaning as you can see it comes with the Alp Core cassette toilet which is a nice feature to have too, so we've used a lot of different types of camping toilets before and this, um, this is the first time we've had a cassette toilet and it's pretty convenient, so we like that part, okay?
So the last option we chose was air conditioning, so we really wanted to have some type of air conditioning, so what they offer for air conditioning is the zero Breeze, which is rechargeable, you can get it with a battery, so what is Above is the battery there. battery and you can also use it as a power bank, so you can get it with a battery or two. We only have one right now, but we'll probably add the second one as well, so this is one of the things that we think could maybe be a little bit better.
One of the things we discovered is that it has a remote control, so you can show it off. The remote doesn't seem to work with the door closed, so it's not powerful enough if you have it. running and you have the door closed, it's not like that, the remote control doesn't work and that's not necessarily something for you, you know from bell, um, it's just that you know the nature of the remote control, I guess, um, or the receiver , which it is not. powerful enough or something, yeah, direct line of sight or yeah, something like that, so I'm not sure what the situation is, but that was one of the things we noticed and it's like, eh, okay, if you let the door open, it works.
It comes with the fire extinguisher, so it comes with a first alert fire extinguisher. Quite deep storage compartment. This is a slightly closer view of the zero Breeze. You can see the vents back there, where it draws in outside air. It has two ceiling lights. One from there I can't reach and the other from here are powered at the moment by the renegie but they are also adjustable, which is something I like and there you can see their energy, it's 72,000 milliamp hours or something like that. I do not remember exactly. Gina can put that on the display and have more room to store one of the camp hats, so we're thinking one of those will be for your clothes and the other one will be for my clothes probably and probably half of mine will be. for her and then the folding bench folds up nicely, the latches snap in and give you a little more room and the cover is removable so it unclips and unclips so it has velcro on the back and the cover is removable and washable, and that's true. everything in here is removable and washable, the window curtains and everything, in this bottom drawer here are two extra water jugs, so it actually comes with four, what are they, two and a half gallons, two gallons and a half each, water, so another.
Again, the thing about the Campana is that it's meant to be completely off-grid and requires little

maintenance

, so you don't need to winterize it or anything like that, which was important to us and was something we didn't want to have to do so it has a refillable pump for the water which will be shown when we show the back kitchen so there are two jugs in the back kitchen and two extra jugs here so of course in winter you have to make sure the water doesn't freeze, yes, between trips, dump the No water, yes, but you don't have to worry about winterizing the system or leaks or anything like that, which is one of the things we liked.
Okay, for the outlet, it just comes underneath, plugs into a power strip, so you have 120 volts. options there, uh, the zero Breeze connects to that for its energy, which can be done for coastal energy. I connected a couple of USB chargers, charging cables and put them on each side of the bed for phones at night, which the power strip had USB power outlets. It comes with a rechargeable fan that has a light. Nice window curtains and phone pockets, so it also comes with this backrest. Here the backrest, you just hold it and it lifts up and there's the backrest and they give you A couple of lap desks are quite nice and when we were picking up the trailer they explained to us that these are the window cutouts, they put the trim on it and finished it so you can use it as a lap desk so I keep one in here and then one in the truck so it's a queen size memory foam bed.
I believe Zinus or Sionist is the company that makes the mattress and it is an eco-friendly mattress as well as green tea infused memory foam and, um, pretty comfortable, about six inches. pretty pretty comfortable, we don't have much to complain about in our rooftop tent, it had a three inch mattress and we ended up putting a carton of eggs on top of it, but so far we haven't felt like we need to do that with this Um, so really I think the intention with the um bad queen size bed here is that you put your head on this end and your feet down there on that end.
We have slept that way but we have also slept with our heads on each other. Ultimately that's why the chargers are down there, there's a USB charger here behind the backrest, but the last few times we slept with our heads down on the other end because we felt it was easier to crawl. the bed that way and then backing out instead of getting in and turning, so we've tried it both ways and it works both ways. We forgot to move the lap desk, so under the bed here, um, it lifts up with what are they called hydraulic pistons?
Whatever they are called. So once you have it, you have to pull to get it up. It's a little heavy when you first start, but then they kick in and lift it up on their own. um you can see quite a bit of storage space under here, there's even little side compartments. um it's a little hard to get to the one in the back so you have to think about what you put back there and you can see there's a switch and there are lights there too so you can turn on the lights to see what's going on there so in We don't have anything under here right now, but we're thinking that this is where we'll keep the privacy tent. that comes with it we have a pop up canopy so some of the larger items like that is probably what we'll store underneath and then maybe like clothing like bigger items like maybe during the winter or anything heavy or boots. or that kind of thing, any ideas about that, no, just don't get stuck, yeah, don't get in there, don't get in there so you can go, you can go ahead and leave it, so again you have to grab. kind of from the middle and push down and again once you get it going it goes down pretty smoothly.
The mattress also came with the mattress cover, so there was a mattress cover and everything came under the bed, so everything was packed, yes, under the bed. all the manuals for all the equipment, an owner's manual for the campground and everything you know you needed was actually under the bed here, so we were able to just open the packages, read all the materials, familiarize ourselves with everything it has . a CO2 detector and these are for the roof rack, yeah, those are the ones that hold the roof rack on the roof, so don't play with them, uh, so one of the things we love is this window back here, like this that the window is only to illuminate everything.
The end opens up here and that's one of the things we love and there's a screen that covers all of this so I have the screen off just lying here on the bed right now but that Velcro is around the whole window and it's a nice solid Velcro like we haven't had any problems with it yet. Well, one of the selling points for us was this big window. I tend to be a bit claustrophobic, so a tear was a bit questionable for us anyway, but we found it. This window makes a big difference, so let me show you how it works.
Well, Tim opened it from the outside. There are also deadbolt locks on the inside, so you can see him opening it. Pistons here that help and you might be wondering about the orange rope. Actually, they just sent us a strap that we haven't installed yet and it attaches to the latches there so that when you're inside, you want to close it. you can grab that handle and pull it down, so we really love this look. There are a couple of things, a couple of suggestions or small adjustments that we would like to see. I mean, we're not sure if they're possible.
Probably the biggest one, so with the strap you can pull it down and leave it like there's the tipping point, so there's a horizontal tipping point, yes, with the strap you can hook it to keep it partially down, but then anything beyond that. Go ahead andlet it go, it closes, so we would love if there was some way we could keep it open like an inch or two inches, you know, just to allow a little more airflow, so again, I'm not sure that's something possible. or doable um but that's something we would like them to not move they like there's not a like on a screen door yeah yeah so that's what I'm thinking I don't know if you can do something like that . a screen door on each side where you just hold it, maybe it opens a little bit, so if it's really rainy or windy, I don't know, there it is with the screen on and Tim will go ahead and open it with the screen on.
I didn't pull the rope back, I understand you can pull the rope out so there it is with the screen in place so we really like that and the side windows open too, the curtains velcro to the bottom , then you can roll them up and put them in place so that the one on the door is rolled up and the one on this door that you can see is rolled up into another really small type thing and I don't know if it would make a difference since sometimes we sleep with head on that end, we might like it better if the curtain was placed at the top of the window and then you rolled it down and attached it with velcro. place instead of the bottom, so actually one of the things that's really nice is that we can completely remove that curtain that we doubt we'll use and that we very often try to camp in places where there aren't a lot of people around us .
So, you know, the privacy factor isn't really that important, so we'll most likely take it out and move it out of the way and probably store it underneath on one of the small sides. Cubicles, so if we need it at some point, we still have it with us, but it doesn't get in the way when we try to open and close the outside window, so the rear kitchen storage is one of the areas we are friendly to. one of the most excited to find out how to customize how to use it for our particular needs, so I'll let you go ahead and open everything up, oh you've got it on, so two locks on that one, oops, our rope fell off too, good heroes , so he had all the locks open there, so there are a lot of options here, go ahead and take out the table.
Also, it's really windy out here today, our paper towel is blowing everywhere, so this is what we're thinking about now so you can look at the water, the other two jugs of water, two and a half gallon jugs of water. and there's room, we usually bring some gallon jugs of water with us, um, that we fill our water bottles with, you know, just to be safe in case it hits us. water from other places where we are not very sure of the water quality, we usually bring a couple of at least a couple of gallon jugs.
In fact, we have a place in the truck where they fit really well too, so you know. It works for us, so the water has a pump. I'll let Tim show you that you want me to hold the paper towel. I forgot what I did so the bellw comes with two rechargeable water pumps two batteries for the waterfall oh sorry two batteries for the two rechargeable water pump I'm saying you're wrong two rechargeable batteries that make it work the water pump, so a water pump has two batteries, so one battery can be charged while the other battery is there and you don't necessarily have to put them all in. but anyway you put that in The Jug and then you have a water sprayer so it comes with the water sprayer and it comes with a shower head and at our last camp I was very happy that I could use it to wash my hair. and take a little shower, not hot water or anything, but it was nice to have that sprayer and that water pressure to take care of the things we needed to take care of and it comes with privacy.
Bathroom store with shower too um I think that's why I'm showing it in one of the videos yeah so I'll put a picture of that too so now what we're doing in the bottom compartment is we have our blocks leveling. we have the lock yeah so when I have it parked you have the lock and then you also have that little hitch lock this locks the hitch so it can't be used. The hitch that's on it doesn't have to have a pin on it to keep it from opening when you drive to the right and then the ball lock as well, so now we're using it for that, down there we have all our spray nozzles and we fill there our water. here we have our level, our chalks up there, so it comes with a set of shims and we went ahead and got a second one just because our driveway is sloped so we needed to have a second one, the privacy tent and the cable extension are actually up there right now, like I said, we're probably going to put the privacy tent under the bed, so this is like the area here, really these top three that we're not sure yet exactly how we're going to use them, yeah we're going to try to create a more pantry-like situation, it comes with a folding sink we already had a couple of them, but it's always nice to have an extra one and it also comes with a Covia stove and you know, we have a camp stove which we're pretty used to using so we haven't used the covia stove yet but at our next campsite Tim just got some fuel so at our next campsite we're thinking about giving it a try and this little area here already We know we're going to set this up as our coffee bar, so coffee is a very important part of our morning ritual, so we're planning to set this little area up as our coffee bar. when we get up first thing in the morning, Tim can open this.
Tim is the cafe's barista, so he'll be able to open this. turn on the small stove with water heating. grind our coffee for us and have it ready. By the time I get out of bed, that's the goal, there are two stabilizer jacks on each side that aren't really necessary, since you can get in and out of it with the stabilizer jacks up properly, it's not going to tilt properly. it just bounces around a lot, yeah, and around there, so every time we stop for the night and unhook, we go ahead and lower the stabilizer jacks.
There is a porch light in the rear canopy. It's really nice, you know, it lights up everything unless you're five feet tall. four and you can't reach the switch so I put another switch here for her and this is probably a place where a strap will attach too oh that was the other thing the strap is there the strap for the front window like I said which we haven't attached yet, so you just hook the end there to the window, the snap end to the window handle and then you can pull it down much better than our orange rope, so here's the access. so the back end of the zero Breeze gets to the connections which I can't get there, it comes out of a hole in the back to get to all the wiring for the zero Breeze if you need to change your or get to the back to add a second battery , tie it all up and then you also have this pull out work table so it ends up giving you about six feet of width if you need to use everything, taking it out also keeps the door open so you don't have to worry about the door moving you have the towel of paper right there, you've got the little shelf on top so you can place things however you need, so we have all This blank space here that we're thinking we're going to start, we're going to put our adventures with the Heck and Back logo um in there and then like Maybe we'll start adding some stickers or something, we're not sure yet.
I almost hate, you know, putting something on it because it's so nice and new and clean and everything, one of the other things that, um, maybe just again a little adjustment, it feels like maybe there should be a lock on the top and The bottom of this door looks to us like it doesn't close tightly down there, not that anything is going to happen or anything, it's the weather stripping here, yeah, the weather stripping keeps it out, oh, just a little bit. Yes Yes. It's got good weatherstripping on all sides and we haven't had any dust in there or anything yet, yeah, so no problem or anything, we're just super focused on what could go wrong, so here's a look below.
It is powder coated welded steel and also has torsion axles. We hope you enjoyed the tutorial. If you have any questions about anything, feel free to leave comments below and we hope you'll join us for future videos as we start customizing our Bell. Thank you. a lot to look at
