Endzone: A World Apart - Pravsburg Returns! (Part 1)

Apr 18, 2024
Hello everyone, my name is provis and welcome to Endzone, a

world

a

part

, this is a post-apocalyptic survival city builder that we played on the channel before and since the game was fully released, I promised that I would come back and play a complete series. Well, today that's exactly what we're going to do in survival mode. I'm looking forward to this because I had a lot of fun with the early access portion of this game, but that was the only experience I really had. I never had the chance to delve too deeply into all the mechanics and learn the nitty-gritty details.

Now I want to use survival mode as a learning opportunity to really start experiencing some more of the content, maybe make some mistakes, learn from them and move forward. with useful strategies that we can use for challenging scenarios and maybe even a maximum difficulty in the future. However, I won't be playing on normal difficulty because I've had some prior exposure, I think it might be a little too easy, so we'll move on to advanced difficulty and really try to push ourselves again, think on our feet, make some mistakes and learn from them as soon as possible. to our map settings, let's reduce the number of mountains, let's increase the number of lakes.

I usually prefer a little more water and maybe some additional ruins for fun exploring and then beyond that, what do we want the map to look like? I guess this is fine, but I don't like the position of those mountains. pretty reasonable, okay yeah let's go for something like this, there's water near the base but not too close, and the mountains are going to make me squeeze into a space pretty early in the trail, it can get a little weird , but yes, everything. Okay, let's go for this, it'll be fun, and as for the name, of course we have to go with Profs Berg, not Bug, because that's what's expected at this point.

Well, we'll start the new game and see what we can do. learn about the end zone, okay here we go, if you have never seen the end zone before, I highly recommend you watch some of my previous videos about the game because I took a lot more time to explain the different mechanics, resources and guys. works as a tutorial in this one, I'm just going to jump right into the things we need to get water and food as soon as possible, of course, for people's survival, and this is probably the closest water source I'm going to get So I think we'll go ahead and use this by putting in a dock that's like a dock that people can go out on the water and just scoop up some water in jugs.

Actually, I want to leave myself a little. There's a little bit of room though because I imagine I'll also want to put, say, a fishing cabin and things like that around here as well, so we'll try to put, actually, you know, let's take a look, what would it take to put a What do I just want? to make sure that all my paths make sense because I like everything to look nice and neat right, this would be nice and then yeah, let's place the pier uh like this okay, perfect, perfect, perfect, so let's place the pier that let me start collecting water, then we need a place to store said water.
Something like this with a cistern would probably suffice. The cistern is where you would normally store the water. I think I want to place it a little further away. I know the pier involves some travel time, but since this is already a long way from my bus, I want to make sure it ends up close to where everyone will live and spend most of their time working. This should be fine now we have to assign people to their professions, of course if you've ever seen the game banished you may be familiar with this type of system.
We have some settlers who currently have nothing to do except collect several different types. resources off the map. I'm going to sign at least five of them to become builders real quick and the rest will assign some quick tasks to collect wood, say around here and then maybe some scrap metal, I don't know, it should be fine here. Hey, we have some deer and deer sitting around here, well that might be of some help, I'm not sure we have to deal with them right now, but if we catch them and we could farm those animals, that would be a good thing.
Wouldn't it be like that? They will go ahead and start building this as soon as possible using the resources that are currently being stored on the bus. By the way, you can see a storm passing through right now as the map sets. progressively wetter as the storm clouds pass and you can see here that there is something called soil moisture and it changes dynamically with the weather there is also radiation, we are going to have to worry because radiation can become exceptionally dangerous and make people sick. and potentially even sterile so they don't have any more children, which would be terrible, so we'll have to protect people against that soon.
Let's go ahead and assign at least four people to become water bearers for now so they can gather together. Take some water and put it in the cistern and then we'll need to get some food. I think I'll go ahead and put up that fishing cabin we've been talking about. I demolished it just so we could build a little later. I want to make sure you prioritize water first, but now that we have it, yeah, let's go ahead and set up a fishing cabin. We don't see any signs of drought at this time. I did a couple of test games and it's totally possible to have a drought next season in the game, which would obviously suck for a whole host of reasons, so I'm glad we don't have to deal with that right now.
Let's go ahead and build some roads I want. Walking like this is useful for people to be able to walk quickly between their homes and workplaces. It just increases overall efficiency at least a little. Here comes more rain. Thank you so much. Let's see, waiting for a little more scrap to be delivered over the fishing cabin, okay, I think people can receive that without any problem and then the other builders are already building some of these roads. Okay, once that's done, we'll probably take a couple of people out of the building and assign them. Becoming fishermen and getting lots of food early on is absolutely essential.
We also have wild boars and sows. You know, it's really nice that we don't have to worry about these guys because in real life borers can be aggressive little boogers. so I'm glad that we don't actually have to deal with any of that, there are other threats that we will have to deal with of course, natural disasters like dust storms and droughts and other similar things of course will happen in this post-apocalyptic

world

and we know that at some point raiders will be a thing, so there are defense options. I won't worry about that right now.
There's really not much I can do about it, even if they did come, but uh. Yes, obviously I want to avoid that, if possible, let's go and start placing some cabins. I want to make sure we have at least a reasonable amount of accommodation. Let's see that these occupy five. Okay, so I can actually put these cabins in kind of. Well, now this game works a little like banishing in terms of housing mechanics. If you have two adults, a man and a woman, they will move into a cabin together, at which point they can start having children. own up to three per house.
If adults have nowhere to live then they can't have children, so if you want to keep increasing your population these are your only real options, make sure you build enough housing for all your adults, for example, alejandro and rosario will be able to have children in the future, there is a lot of room for them, this is how we will be able to grow that population, a very important population if you don't have people grow, if you don't have more population, you won't be able to have enough workers to run all the buildings and gather resources , and it will be a slow, horrible death, so we are trying to avoid some.
Of that, let's see, so the fishing cabin is doing its thing, we have at least one other worker available, you know, just to get the food going a little sooner, I'm going to put a lot of effort into an orchard right now, an orchard is like a farm, but the best thing about them is that once they are set up, they should be able to produce a good amount of food with very little intervention on my

part

. It looks like we started with pears, which gives me 260 foods every 2.5 seasons. Actually, that's not very good. I think there are significantly better options, still, it's probably better than having someone manually grow food all the time.
What we actually show you now is that it has eight growing cycles, so once it grows throughout the course. of one season every growing cycle or every eight, there will be eight growing cycles before we have to cut it down and start again, so I think it would be good, let's assign at least one person to become a farmer. We'll plant the saplings and then we can get them to retire and go work on other things and that will be a good amount of food every other season or so, what else do we need? Well, there are many resources that we have.
We are certainly going to need to include a lot of scrap metal so that we can establish a scrap yard somewhere and that could be useful. It's not an absurd amount of junk to go around. It is mainly in this vicinity. Not a ton here at least a few hundred. A little bit around here we could try to do more of an industrial base in this direction and leave a lot of housing and stuff around here. Each of these resource gathering buildings reduces the attractiveness of the location and that tends to make people a little unhappy.
I would like to avoid placing them too close to the case. Maybe we want to go get something here. I could be fine. Sure, maybe I'll put it here. I guess there isn't much reason not to move on. and place a junkyard right here, it's there, okay, yeah, sure, let's go ahead and put that in and we'll also want to get the forestry cabin. I think I'll put it right here and we'll use it to actually uh. plant new trees so that we have a nearby source of renewable wood for a good part of the game.
Okay, we still have a couple of constructors. Nobody really. I think maybe one person has come of age until now. Obviously, not many. children to start, but you can see a sort of progress bar under each of their names that tells you how soon they're going to grow up, so Bennett should soon become an adult and gives you a rough idea, like when you're watching their population is starting to increase, I need to increase this to about 20 or something very soon, if I may like it, we no longer have enough workers to handle things like a scrap metal collector and a forest ranger, and apparently we have more homeless people, well, We should probably deal with it, let's put up some more cabins, uh, we'll put another one here and another one here for now, that'll be fine, we only have three homeless people right now, although obviously that's going to get worse.
As people become adults, we can go ahead and build you this way, sure, why not? Come on, well, we're going down some additional paths, functioning well on some water, functioning well on food, at least we're breaking even with the current population I'm looking at, which doesn't mean much given that the population is very low, but let's always pay attention to both numbers, it's very important, yes, homeless shelters, I'm working on it. working on it, don't worry, don't worry, the scrapyard is ready, okay, we can assign someone to work here at least and let's go ahead and move this here and collect about 450 scrap from this area, we will use it . to build buildings and eventually sort good resources like fabric like metal like plastics right now I have pretty little scrap, we've already spent a lot, uh, you can see here that the crops yield for our pear trees, our pear orchard is already growing quite well.
The problem with having such a quick harvest time, you know, every 2.5 seasons or whatever, is that we can't really get people off this job as much as we would like. something you know takes like four or five seasons and gives a lot of food and that way I can keep people out of farm work for a while and let them do something else, but it doesn't look like we're going to be that. Lucky you, at least not for a while, someone else is homeless, I'm sure you know that again. I'm willing to go ahead and invest heavily in a population boom, at least early in the game.
In the end, what you might want to do is leave it on the ground. In some shelters, this allows you to house many people, but they can't have children if they live in a public shelter, so this is a way to get a roof over people's heads without contributing to your population growth, if That is something that is a problem for you. Obviously it's not a problem for me yet, but it couldthat, okay, now we have it perfect, move on to the next outfit, keep making me more nice clothes. I actually have quite a few settlers available now, all of a sudden, okay, I don't know why it says we need 10 builders.
Obviously I don't need them because I don't have that many construction projects, but that's okay, you know, I'll bite why. No, let's go ahead and start collecting other resources, like let's say food from a gatherer's hut. I feel like this could be very helpful. I think we'll place you up here. Do we also want to collect some herbs from a herb store? But yeah, is it the top priority right now? I don't know what the main one is, but I mean we could go ahead and work on it, sure, yeah, let's go ahead and start gathering some medications and stuff since we have some extra people to work with.
Of course, we can always send more people to collect more scrap metal, have extra people working on the ranger, someone else working on the fisherman's hut, something else working on the water transporter, etc. Basically, we're doing pretty well, boss. everything we need to survive, but some of us think we can do a little more, so what you want is to store food, waste tools. I stored some stored water and more activated charcoal masks. If we do it, we would make a lot of people happy. It's almost like a gentle tutorial. Honestly, I'm a little surprised. I didn't realize these missions would be so obviously useful for directing.
You're headed in the right direction for these games, but I appreciate what they're doing. I'm doing fine either way, let's go ahead and set some of this up. We need more food and stuff anyway. Yes, we want scrap tools. I mean, no. I see any reason not to use metal as a thing let me check something a tool a tool this is slower than this one we produce tools faster if we scrap whatever we don't have to do this right now um we don't have any wood and that's part of the problem, okay, wait, let's move this here and with the five people that are currently not working, there is no scrap here, everyone should come here and start gathering me some wood, I need wood more than anything else, we also They are limiting housing, well, well, we have some fabric, so now I should be able to build a shelter and I guess I'm okay with building it here, this seems quite reasonable, of course, so to work we're going to need a lot more wood , so if they did well, it would be nice if they could place a few more houses.
Don't get me wrong, I can absolutely justify doing it, but I would really like to. to control my population growth, another drought on the way in a few seasons, well that doesn't seem so bad, I can probably go ahead and just change the forestry cabin to now log and reforest, there are a lot of trees in this. I need more wood and frankly they aren't producing it fast enough, so let's go ahead and start working on that. How much are they collecting? Are they doing something? I see them cutting down trees around here, pretty sure, yeah, okay.
So where does all the wood go? Are they all the tools? Oh my gosh, you guys are just using it all on tools, aren't you, whatever this should be able to do, we've got seven, we've got seven here, you guys should be able to. To handle this, we will hire an extra person for the forest lodge, we will cut down more trees, damn we will cut down all the trees, I don't want to see any vegetation anywhere when I am done with this place, yeah, no. I don't know, it's kind of like my tradition at the moment, it's just massive deforestation everywhere.
Herbalist and no, not the charcoal burner. The food collector will be great. We will assign you to this area. You can see there is plenty of food. growing between all these trees and the herbalists, same kind of deal here ahead, go ahead and start collecting some herbs, I don't need that many, although a couple hundred herbs is more than enough, after that, go ahead and stop doing whatever you are doing. but this will give me some extra food production to try to keep up with our growing population. We are no longer collecting enough water. I am very concerned that we will probably want to have a well soon which would help quite a bit.
But can we afford it right now? Great question, let's find out, well it mostly costs scrap, actually, yes we can do it. Oh, it doesn't fit here, although that would have been very convenient. Well, go and put the well right there, next to the. cistern, so it's very fast, we will have to assign a person to become our well guardian and I think the wells work even during drought, so we will be able to get some water without any problem, okay, Now we have at least some wood to work with. I don't really feel like I need these low water reserves.
Yes, duly noted, we have a well installed now, so we should be able to start flushing now. I would love to have a rainwater collector, it is a very good passive way to collect a lot of water, however it usually requires some form of carbon filtration because it is not at all unusual to have irradiated water raining down on your colony and obviously that is It's not a very good thing, we need more recyclers. I can go ahead and start placing them. We'll need two of those that will probably work well on metals. Although we are producing more expensive tools, not so much with fabric and I want to produce some plastics, so we will try it a little, well, collectors, ha, but it is working.
You can see by the way we have increased the amount of different types of food available in the settlement and this makes people happier and uh healthier, so we like to have a lot of herbs, a lot of food, etc., so that this will greatly improve the situation of the people. How are we doing in terms of housing? This can accommodate up to 25 people. We already have capacity for 18. Wow, okay, my population actually. It's growing pretty fast, a little faster than I think I expected, let's go ahead and put more housing, we can only put a couple more in there, but that's okay, make sure you keep increasing that population slowly but steadily, without trying to trigger any kind of death spiral that we all know could also improve the Mount uh community here, the mounted bus community usually makes people happy, I don't know if I care too much, what about storage and stuff, a temporary warehouse could be good, we have it.
I still don't have access to the warehouse. This could be helpful. We can go ahead and place one of these or maybe two. Don't know. Yes, we can actually place them here. This is pretty good. Let's go ahead and do it. that maybe I want to get rid of the bus accident in favor of let's say um what is this, a community, a campfire, yes a campfire, something could be good, it takes up exactly the same space, but it's just a nice place for people get together and I think it looks better than a damn bus, even if the bus is okay, it's also a place where you can prioritize what the builders do well.
Well, Dooley pointed out, maybe maybe we can't get it. You know what I just realized we can't get it? get rid of it, you'll never be able to get rid of the bus grill, oh how fun, it's a permanent fixture, ok, it doesn't matter what it is, okay, let's go ahead and cut down more trees and I think this is a good place to end this video, so we've got some of the basics, we're collecting a good amount of food, we're getting a little bit closer to water and food just because our population is growing, but we're starting to catch up on some other resources, the tools are starting. will become a problem and I think that is mainly because we are not producing them fast enough, so we will have to switch to scrap tools even if I have a lot of metal simply because the production time will be much faster. and then once we've taken care of everything else, we'll take care of our wood situation, we can start getting charcoal, we'll get rainwater, we'll get better clothing, etc., and so on, and we'll be fine for the start off good thank you so much for watching hope you enjoyed it if so they would ask you to hit the like button leave a comment and subscribe and I'll see you next time in the end zone.
