Heliox Administration

Hello, my name is Lauren. I am a respiratory therapist. I'll show you a HELOC setup on an e-cylinder. Some of the indications for which we can be administered a mixture of helium and oxygen would be: asthma EX exacerbations of COPD or more or less like an obstruction of the upper airways um, this is an electronic cylinder and here on this label you will see the mixture of helium to O2. We have a 7030 mixture which is 70% helium and 30% oxygen. You can also find the mixture on this label here which will say 7030. Also hold electronic cylinders which consist of an 8020 mixture which is 80% helium, 20% oxygen and we also have that in an electronic cylinder.

Now I'm going to show you the electronic cylinder and how to turn it on and identify different parts on it, so what do we have? here's your regulator as you can see your pressure gauge is reading in Zer PSI so we can pressurize the cylinder, we're going to open your regulator valve here and you should see your PSI levels go up there and if I turn the cylinder this. This way you will notice a nipple adapter where we can attach our uh aromed circular mask.
