Open Tag: What Knives Have You Bought Because of YouTube?

Apr 04, 2024
hello guys welcome to the channel I had an idea for an

open

tag

because

I was going to review some

knives

and then I said well I

have

a knife that is similar to this other knife or at least it's from the same family and I thought you knew

what

it was another

youtube

r who influenced me to let you know the knife I was going to review and it turns out that it was a commenter who made me choose the other one that is related to him in the first place and so on later. I got to thinking, I said: you know

what

I was going to do with some small

knives

and all these three small knives that I was going to make

have

influenced me or been influences for me from other YouTubers, so that's what this label is about.

It's about knowing what knife or knives you've picked up that maybe you normally wouldn't have picked up, but a YouTuber saw a video that made you want to get it or maybe they sent you some correspondence and you know that made you aware of it or maybe someone in the comments made you aware of a knife that I'm going to end up making you know these there's actually four knives but you know we'll have a couple more that will be here but there's no particular number if you want to make one you want to make three uh you want to make you know more than that hey it's an

open

label and you can film your video how you want to make your video that's absolutely fine but the first one I wanted to start with is this one, the angry watermelon, the badass rider tadpole, uh, everyone's seen it .

More Interesting Facts About,

open tag what knives have you bought because of youtube...

I've had it here a couple of times before, but you know I wouldn't have gotten this, uh, you know, JB from Big Red Edc did it. famous but I think the first time I saw this in a video it was from Mr. Barlow and when I saw it you know

because

I had seen it in catalogs and in advertisements and I thought wow, that's very small, I don't know if I would even want a knife that small, but then when I saw it, it caught my attention that it was Mr. Barlow who has like a Barlow type reinforcement and has a bear head design, so it reminds me a little bit of baby, uh, knife reinforcement or you know, I just or the barlow knife, I was just like you know what an assisted barlow opening is, uh, you know, it's cool, so that's where this whole label came from you know, uh, it was when thinking about this but also when thinking. about the next knife that will be shown which is this one the old timer 180t mighty mite and this one has a very strong pull so I think that's where it gets the mighty mite name from and this is one that was recommended to me. for uh thrifty kniffy, so I wasn't really aware of this knife, it wasn't even on my radar, but for a little fifth line lock pocket knife, uh, this knife, I have to tell you since I

bought

it, I really I have not done it.

In fact, the angry watermelon was my uh, you know, basically my fifth favorite pocket bag until I got this guy and I've been using it ever since, and a shout out to uh tobias uh gibson, who also instead of saying angry watermelon said we should call them war pickles, which I think is absolutely hilarious and on point, so thanks for that, Tobias, but it's nice, but yeah, some of the reasons I didn't really think much about this knife was because You know it's a line lock, but I already had this one, which is the friend's 12 and this one, you know, it has a clip point and it's all just a slip joint again, fifth pocket size, these guys are relatively the same size . and with the 12 the blade is a little longer, but you know, with this one it's a line lock and the pull of this, I have to tell you that I think when I first

bought

it it was about eight, I've worked it .

So far it's probably around a solid seven now. I have not had a small pocket knife with such a strong spring. In fact, I don't even think you need the liner lock as strong as this spring, but they are both excellent. knives and you know, at first I liked it, I said I already had this one, so I was like, well, I don't really want this one because you know it's a duplicate of this one, but it turns out you know this is a really good knife. We'll go ahead and leave them and one of the other knives I had was this one that made me think of the mighty mite and this is the 194 ot and this was suggested to me by Stuart Harvey who said he thought this would be a perfect carry for edc and as it also had the same liner closure, I mean, it's basically the big brother of this, but this guy is three and a half inches, it's closed, so it's a perfect pocket carry, perfect size.
EDC work knife, you know, and it has the liner lock, so if you're interested in that kind of stuff, then definitely, you know, check this guy out because you know this is a really good work knife, This has turned out to be one of my favorites at work lately, I never had a problem with the 12 ot, in fact when I went on vacation last time this was the knife I took with me because I was just going in. You know what it was. In the summer, so I mostly wore shorts, you know, and things that aren't, you know, lend themselves to carrying a big, heavy knife all day, so I had this guy, but you know, and so Of course, the tadpole is very easy to kill.
Transporting him is no problem, but the last one I have is one from Tobias and William from Williams Knife Life and that's because we were talking about the little back zippers and all that other stuff and I decided to get a puppy that I liked. The rough rider copper swirl series because I found it more attractive. I think at the time I bought this, the ones they had in stock were the copper swirl series, a red bone, and a green bone, and I just thought. that this one was probably the best looking one, I think if they had one in a white bone I would choose it because I like it better than those, but I found out they were right, you know, and Thrifty Coniffy did a review of this.
It's also really all three, but you know, I like how it locks, I like that it has a back clasp, and this sturdy little stubby blade, it's perfect for opening boxes, opening packages, doing any kind of fine detail cutting this. It actually turns out to be a very good knife and I can see why Tobias likes it, I really like this side, although this is the show side, the swirl on this side I think is particularly attractive, I really like it, but, yeah . that's pretty much what I was thinking is you know these are all good knives.
I'm so glad someone told me about them, but these five knives were knives that weren't on my radar. uh, you know, these two weren't. Even really aware of this one, because it came in a two-pack with another knife, it was the reason I bought this one, you know, these two were definitely sorry as I keep ruining my display, but the you know, puppy. and the tadpole both came from inspiration from watching

youtube

videos, but I think this is an interesting tag. I'd like to see what you other creators have that's something that someone influenced you. because I think we've all influenced someone to buy a particular knife, but you know who or what made you buy a particular knife, you've seen or been told about a knife and you wanted to get it, so that's it.
I look forward to your answers and I'll see you next time, we'll talk to you guys later, bye.
