I love her

daycare

and if I can take her house, I would take her house. Thanks for contact me. I am very excited to collaborate with you. If you can see the video of the leaves. I'll link it so you can click on it, but she'll also go over what's in her manual, so we'll go ahead and start over if you want to see more policies. Check out Julie's channel, so let's go ahead and get started. My

handbook

was given to parents before my daycare was destroyed and the reason I am giving you a copy of this before my daycare was destroyed is because I want you to read this and if there is anything in this book that you are not okay you don't need to be on my program now I don't want to sound off, but obviously there are some things that you can work on by mouth or from 7:30 to 6:00 if you need me at 6:30 once a day week I can do it, so it's not that they can't be in my program, but most of what's here is what I'm comfortable with and what I feel works for me. so know that your manual is really important, it is better to include additional information as additional information than not include enough, so I encourage you to make sure that your manual is really good and really efficient, so my first page has my hours of operation.

I'm going to include screenshots of my manual if you want to copy a word from Word, do whatever you want, I don't mind, this has worked for me and it might work for you too, so don't think I'm going to do it. I'm going to be mad if they copied my manual word for word, but again, this is what works for me, so the first thing we have in my hand is the hours of operation, so it says our hours of operation are from 7:30 a.m. m. At 6 pm. Monday to Friday so that's the standard that's what I have again if I had a parent that needed me until 6:30 once a week or whatever the case may be I help them but there is an additional fee and I explain it to them, obviously, like beforehand, but That's my business hours, so if they know that I close at 6:00 and they don't even send me a text saying that they will arrive at 6:45 or 7 ok, I'll have a problem.
daycare policies 2024 in home daycare handbook
It's anything outside of my hours of operation that I need to be notified about. I don't want anyone showing up at my house at 7 in the morning if I open at 7:30 and I don't want them to pick up after 6 o'clock, if I close at 6, I like to have that at the top, but again, if a parent needs me and is polite and lets me know, okay, I actually work a little later, the state can help me, then obviously I would say yes and then I know in advance, so I don't make sense with my kids after hours and everyone is happy so just have your office hours at the top, after that it says enrollment information and requirements.
I must receive the following information in order to begin the registration process so the first thing I have is an application with an application fee and it says that the application must be for each child who attends blank when you get to the word blank it is because my business Name is inserted so I would just include your business name or an acronym but I have my business name and then it says the application fee is $35 per family and is non-refundable and non-transferable so What if Jessica pays me $35 for it. If her daughter comes, then she no longer wants her daughter to come.
Her sister wants her daughter to come. Her sister will have to pay that $35. It is not transferable to anyone else. She says there are no exceptions and prices are subject to change. I never changed my request. fee, but I put it in there just in case and then if I have three siblings signing up, they only paid $35 for the application fee. I am not going to charge 35 for each request. I just bought it and then it says photo consent so I have a photo consent form that they sent you it's just so I can use their photos whenever I advertise so if I'm on Facebook and I want to put up a photo of the kids doing activities and say that I have open spaces. for registration and sometimes I use his photo.
I have consent to be able to use that photo, so consent is also needed for the photo and then it says certification of immunization records obtained from the child's position and I want it within the first 30 days and then. It also says that the child's health examination form obtained from the child's doctor was done within the first 30 days, so those two forms have 30 days to send to me and it always tells them that so they don't rush and cram the entire job. just to get the form, I have 30 days to be able to get it and then they can go ahead and give it to me, so I also say that parents should keep the provider informed of any changes and address phone numbers or other information. listed on these forms, so if you move, you need to make sure they don't know so they can update your application if your phone number two is, you want to update it if you want to add someone in the emergency section of the you want to be told so they can update it as well and then it says that the first two weeks your child attends is either blank or considered a trial period to determine if your child is a good fit for our program in this infant period.
It may be extended for no more than four weeks if we feel that the child is being adopted slowly. I do trial days before signing it up. I hold the child for three hours before he signs up and I look at him, I take care of him. I watch how they play with my other children. If they have any habits, they eat with us, they do everything with us in those three hours and then we schedule those test hours in the morning because we do a lot in the morning so we can see the child in action and sometimes those three hours. it's not enough and then like the first week you start to see certain habits like hitting and pushing and kicking and those are things that I like to keep an eye on and as long as parents know that the first two weeks I'm still watching your child. and try to determine if they are right for my program now I like to do this because it happened to me before that the child said perfect during the test and then when they came here it was a big problem so I had to let the parents know that unfortunately I can't take care of their son anymore and they thought it was okay, they got a little angry, but at the same time it's like their son is hurting me or my son, my children. in my program I can't allow that, so I always said that parents know from the beginning, so we have tuition and payments.
It says tuition must be paid every week. Registration is due on Friday for next week, so if today is Friday, they would do it. send me arrived today and that will cover them for next Monday through Friday, so it's all up front, not after, and then it says a five dollar late payment will be applied for each day the tuition is not paid, so if not They don't pay me on Friday they pay me on Wednesday they owe me five ten fifteen dollars and surcharges because their tuition was due on Friday and they paid me in one person that makes sense I don't count Saturday night I don't count Sunday ladies I will start to be able to fight on Monday if tuition is not received tuition has never been prorated there will be no tuition adjustments credit or refunds due to sick leave vacations close these due to natural disasters any other act of nature so I put closures due to natural causes disasters recently like two three weeks ago maybe last month and it was because I had a hurricane and I have no control over it, there was a baton if I had to close because I don't have electricity and I can't take care of the kids properly it's not my fault you know I'd rather I really don't intentionally want my electricity to go out and not work and I don't want my salary to be affected by that so I have it in my

handbook

so parents know that if in the future I have a hurricane and I have to close for three days because I have no power, I am not prorating tuition so for the fee NSF says in the event your check is returned due to insufficient funds an additional fee of $35 would be applied and would be suspended on a full payment of the Tuition and additional fees would be paid in full after returning checks, those who will no longer be able to pay by check, other forms of payment will be accepted.
Cash payment or cash offer, money order is accepted, so for absences it says that we understand that there are times when your child will be absent due to illness, vacation, etc. We ask that you notify blank if your child will be absent. Tuition will not be waived or prorated due to absences of any type if tuition has not been paid due to any type of absence and Roman will be suspended and your child will not be able to attend our program until the balance is paid in full as well. that I like to have it. in my handbook and the reason I like to have that policy in my handbook is because let's say Jessica is free on Monday and she doesn't want to bring her daughter, let's say she just wanted to sleep in and didn't feel like it.
She drove to my house to drop off her daughter and then she comes on Tuesday and says, "Oh, I'm not going to pay you any money because she wasn't here and I don't think she has to pay her on Monday." Well, guess what Jessica does and the reason I have that inside is because there will be parents who will think it's not fair that they have to pay when the child is not in charge if they don't want to. pay I'm just going to say I'm sorry, the tuition still needs to be paid, it's written on my hand, look and you agreed to that when you signed up for my program.
I also wanted to mention about tuition and payments, the reason I do it up front. It's because there are people who leave their children if you watch them and then they get up and leave and don't even pay you. I had a mother that I was helping at one point and I took care of her son for a whole month they had financial problems and they didn't pay me for a whole month and then they up and left so I was left with a huge balance. I worked, I fed that child dinner with that child, so the money was spent and it just bothers me because you know we work hard and give them a lot of love and attention and affection all day long and for the parent to just get up. and leaving is not fair to me as a provider, so I would never let a balance exceed a week if one of the parents has not paid me for a week and they are going to continue two weeks.
I let them know that they can't come until that week is paid for and it shouldn't be bad, it shouldn't be. It's hard, so it's just to protect myself because it's literally the people you least expect to do it that do it after a week, if they don't pay me for a week and then they up and leave. I would prefer to have a week without paying. that they didn't pay me so they have a full month or more that they didn't paint me and then I'll be out of a lot of money if that makes sense so make sure they get paid in advance so it says arrivals and departures. to the correct exit, parents must sign their child in and out every day.
Make sure your child is dressed and ready to start the day in no time upon arrival. We do not accept charges after 9:30. Children should also leave. shoes upon arrival. I have parents meet their child inside and outside and meet them all day. I have the folders set up if you want to see a video in my folder. I have that too and then he says he makes them like a child. dressed up, so sometimes people would bring their kids in their pajamas and then ask me to change them. I try not to have that because he sets me back, I mean not much but it's just an extra text that I feel like a parental responsibility is not mine.
They were taking their childhood to a facility. If they took the child to kindergarten in a public school. They make sure they get dressed. You have to have the same respect too and then I don't accept children after 9:30 and the reason is because simplyshows their schedule if you have a child who comes in at 9:30, chances are they woke up late, didn't have breakfast, and want to eat when they drop them off, but lunch isn't until 11:00 and then they probably won't. be okay because they want to go now because they woke up late so they like just throw everything out so I don't accept kids after 9:30 and then kids also have to take their shoes off upon arrival.
I have a sign in front of my house that says the kids already know to take off their shoes. put them down and then if the parents ever want to come into my house to see their children, I ask them to take off their shoes too, so everyone, including me and my husband, take off our shoes before entering the house, they We ask the children to do the same. In the same way, we have authorized pickups. Our children will only be released to parents, guardians or anyone else listed on the child's authorized pick-up form. If someone not listed on the authorized pick-up form picks up her child, he or she will not be released from our care.
Without direct parent information in writing or by phone, identification will be required upon pick-up. I feel like this is self explanatory. I will not give the child to someone I do not know. I've actually never had any problems with the dieter. drop off parents let me know actually my cousin is coming to pick her up or my sister is coming to pick her up and I don't have a problem with that so it says before and after hours if you want to send it by arriving early. or after our business hours, please contact Blank immediately if she anticipates arriving before business hours.
Please note that the provider is required and a fee will apply if a child left blank after closing time. We will try to contact parents first. If we are unable to contact parents, we will contact those on your child's authorized pick-up list. If we are unable to contact anyone to arrange pickup, we are required by law to notify the Department of Children and Family Services. There is also a fee for any child who is picked up outside of business hours, there will be a $5 fee for every half hour that we care for your child outside of our business hours, the time has been rounded up e.g. , if it is around 6:35 pm.
You'll have $10 in late fees, so from 6:00 to 6:30 it's $5 and from 6:30 to 7 it's another five dollars, even if it's five minutes later, you'll still pay the full five dollars. It doesn't round down so you're crazy so if you come in at 7:01 it would all be fifteen dollars even if it's a minute after my time guys it's valuable if you go to work and get five extra minutes clocked in . They will want to get paid for it and so will I, so I have that there, you can choose whatever number you want, it doesn't have to be five dollars every half hour, which for me is ten dollars an hour. which is fine and I think they should charge a late fee guys and I highly recommend it because you will find those people who will be late and if you don't charge them late fees they will keep coming. and they won't care because now there is no penalty and when I started my daycare I closed at 6:00 since I opened my daycare and I had people who came at 6:30 6:45 and I didn't I didn't charge them but there was one day where I was just fed up you know I had plans with my son I was going to do something with him and they didn't even tell me they were going to be late and now all my plans are ruined off I just think it's disrespectful and not polite, so again I charge according to the vacation policy.
Each full-time child will receive one week of free vacation once enrolled in our full-time program consecutively for one year with no more than a two-week gap I have parents who have given birth and while they are on leave for maternity they take their child out and then go back to work if they are out of my program for more than two weeks you have to earn another free week of vacation starting the day you bring them back, that's why I say without an extra week of A two-week application is like having a vacation before you earn your free week of vacation, tuition still needs to be paid in full. and it has to be paid in advance, so if you have a student and they've only been with you for four months and they're about to take a vacation because they haven't wanted to say it's full here, they still have to pay for that week.
They're not going to be here even if they don't even show up, you still have to paint the whole thing, that's me, if you guys wanted to do half the solution because they're not going to be there, so, you guys can do that. At one point I had a father who every three months ran the state and then every three months, that was X amount of money. I was missing a bit because that child was absent every three months and I thought no, they give you a week every three months. a single year and that's it because if not they are going to take vacation all the time so it says daycare closures and blank holidays, maybe closing on some holidays, if we are closed for a holiday we still require full tuition, so it's like I'm closed on Monday, Labor Day and then I'm open the rest of the week.
Tuition still needs to be paid in full, even if I am closed on Mondays, so federal holidays are paid. He says the registration will not be cancelled. His prorated holiday. Closings are included in the price of our tuition, so like I said, I'm about to close for Columbus Day, but parents know that tuition still needs to be paid in full, so no adjustments are made. in weeks when there is a closure due to a holiday. They will be informed in advance to adjust their schedules. We also take two weeks' holiday each year and this will not be paid once your provider has determined your holiday weeks.
All parents will be informed in advance if we have to close. daycare due to natural disasters, for example, hurricanes or any other act of nature, tuition, what could we do and not prorate or waive two closures to be able to take two weeks of vacation each year? They are separate, they are never consecutive. I just like that sometimes I can do a consecutive one, for example, when I gave birth to Lucas, I didn't take vacation that year, I only took two weeks of maternity leave and then I went back to work and they were consecutive, but every two. time I work I have one in June normally and one in December normally like every six months and I'm closed for the week and I don't charge them and the reason I don't charge them is because they still have to pay someone else to take care of their son and even if they don't and they call me when they are on vacation I just don't feel like I should charge them for being closed because I personally am closing and I also have those holidays that they paid for so I charge them when I'm on vacation so it says medication and a presentation will not be administered to children well the Care Law is blank if your child must take medication we ask that you give them the required dose before or after our business hours so as not to administer medication.
I just think it's better for parents to do it. I've had kids who had ear infections and they were in New York for 24 hours and then they can go back to daycare and then the parents drop them off or leave them on the antibiotics and tell you to do it. I personally feel like that's something parents should take care of. I just don't think it's my responsibility and then I just don't feel comfortable giving anyone any medication if their child is on a daily medication. Accent, they give it to you if there's a kid who has, say, eczema or has a little rash and they're supposed to put it on as a topical ointment, I'll do that, but when it comes to those kinds of biotics or Tylenol motrin benadryl, which I mean, I'll give all that, so my sickness policy is pretty long.
I'll put it on the screen that you can read. If you want, basically don't kick them when they're sick and then I have a list of things I don't accept. I know these children like the back of my hand if I feel that you are not feeling well I know you have a fever if I feel better I better go out when I will contact the parents I am very careful I would like to call the parents if they have a runny nose I have kids really want to have a runny nose, it's like a virus is a common cold, but when it comes to fevers and stuff like that, I thought parents should pick them up, so again, this policy is pretty long in these videos, ya It's twenty-five minutes long, so if you want to read it you can and then medical emergencies it just says that we do everything we can to ensure the safety of your child while in our care with proper supervision and child-proofing

home

daycare.
Unfortunately, accidents can occur, minor injuries such as bumps and bruises and scrapes will receive proper first aid treatment, which is one of those watching my first 8k video. You can argue that there is a serious injury or illness and I mean that one will be called to have your child transported to the nearest hospital or the hospital listed on your child's record you will be notified immediately your personal insurance will be responsible for any costs that may arise from medical treatment including required emergency transportation, so it's not new, you guys want to be responsible for your medical bills and again, that's in my contract so I have no responsibility when it comes In close proximity, the following types of actions are not permitted: hitting, pushing, kicking, biting, spitting, pinching, and inappropriate language or behavior.
We encourage all children to use manners and respect every day and ask that you, as a parent, work with us to continue to emphasize these standards of behavior for your child. Our rules have been established to ensure the safety of all children and staff. These rules will be discussed and taught to everyone. children enrolled and are expected to be followed Repeated behavior problems could result in the termination of the possible property and other children and staff are expected to at all times destruction of property by any child will be charged to the parents , so again if you have a child that's hitting, kicking, pushing or causing any problems on your show, you're going to want to terminate them because not only are they doing something they shouldn't be doing, but if let's say Jason is the one hitting with his kicks and everything, and Anthony.
Jason is always getting hit and you're going to make an incident report until his mother, this father of the child who is doing nothing wrong, gets up and leaves because he doesn't want his son to be in danger, right. . and then after that kid leaves Jason will find someone else to mess with and the next thing you know he won't have kids on his program so I would personally terminate the kid's program if he does any of those things repeatedly and No I don't want to respect you if you get suspended or if you get kicked or whatever because you're going to lose the other kids because the parents are going to see that and the parents are not going to accompany their kids through that, so I would recommend it. fire the child if he is really excessive.
I've had biters sometimes it's a phase, it's okay, but it fits maliciously, like they grab, bite, kick and push. I would end up with one, it's a headache for you, it's a responsibility and then too. Like I said, parents will want to take their kids out if they keep getting hurt, so the next policy is the discipline policy. We have found that the most effective form of discipline is to redirect children in a positive manner if any behavior problems occur. any child we will work with that child in a positive way, the following are our methods used for positive guidance, the first is redirection when a behavioral problem occurs, those who provide alternatives for the child, for example, we may suggest a different toy and not perform no activity or encouragement. independent game to redirect the child so I have a lot of cars a lot of babies I have two kitchens I have a lot of multiples in each toy so if I see two kids fighting over one I will take out the duplicate and let them play with it so I have lots of duplicates here so not a big deal when it comes to toy sharing sometimes you have those little issues but it's nothing excessive and then it says recognition.
Sometimes negative behavior can be the result of the need for individual attention. Some kids literally do something and look at you because they want you to pay attention to them. You will see that and it is not acceptable that you want attention and sometimes you just need it. Ignore it because once they see that you are watching them every time they do something bad, they will continue to do bad things because they want your attention, the behavior is often discontinued when it does not produce the desired effect unless safety is involved. I will ignore such behavior in favor of verbal intervention to explain to the child why her behavior is inappropriate and model an appropriate way of handling situations, so that ifI see a kid stealing someone else's toy and ripping it off, which I've seen before I tell you I'm not taking the toy away from you I gave it back to the girl who originally had it and I bet you no she's playing with it right now come on to play with something else and then when she's When we're done playing with it, we can go ahead and we can play with it, but she had it first, so we'll let her play with it and I would do that and then they said, oh, it's Well, it's always up to me to do the following.
We have personal belongings. Please do not allow your child to bring personal belongings to our program. These items can be harmful and can be easily lost or damaged if personal items are purchased. We will politely ask parents to remove the toy. The child prior to entering the Blank program is not responsible for the cost of any personal items that have been purchased in a program and have been damaged or lost. We have lunches and snacks. Lunches and snacks are provided at Blank. It is an option for your child. eat the lunch we provide, you can choose to pack your child's lunch and snack if your child does not choose to eat the provided lunch, so we should not adjust if you provide the food which is just my list if you guys want to give it to them. a discount for packing lunches when doing so, so assessments for children enrolled in our program will be evaluated throughout the year to monitor their overall development.
Our written assessments are helpful to both the provider and parents in assessing their child's level of development. These assessments are simply to act as a communication tool between parents and their providers so that we can work together to improve your child's strengths and further develop her weaker areas. Make sure you take the time to review the assessments that are critical to you. I'm just making an excuse, please have If it's been your age and you write one is Q, you get the questionnaire, you do it and I send it to the parents, so reach out, make sure you're a part of our Facebook page, on this page you will find our monthly newsletters and updates me. to our program, if you don't have Facebook, please let the provider know so they can make sure to send you updates directly, so again I have a Facebook page with our parents with my current parents and only with my current parents and whenever I want to update them instead of send each of them a text message.
I just put it on Facebook and everyone sees it and it shows me that you've seen it and I just like having it there and if they don't have Facebook. I'll text them later, but everyone has Facebook on my schedule right now, so it says parent involvement, birthdays, and time out. I'm getting congratulations on the screen so you can read the last page. I'm going to include it. on the screen and it's about potty training. I'm not going to go over all that. I have some videos on potty training and it has everything on this sheet.
If you want to watch those videos, I'll have them linked below, but I'm not going to go over potty training. I'm just going to go over the last two paragraphs, so the withdrawal policy, in case you cheat, withdraw your child from our program for any reason, please notify us. us two weeks before your last day of attendance, if two weeks' notice is not provided, you will be required to pay two weeks of your child's tuition prior to withdrawal, no documents will be provided and therefore , your balance will be cleared with a blank space. then the last paragraph says that I came up with all these policies to best fit my business, my policies are strict and non-negotiable.
If I feel that you are having trouble following or understanding my policies, I will sit down with you and go over them verbally. the policy you are not clear about or having trouble following if I believe you are still contesting and violating my policies, your child's enrollment may be at risk of being canceled immediately depending on the circumstances, so if I feel you are putting me through a bad time and you're doing things that are stepping on my toes and you're taking vacations left and right and you don't want to pay for them and you're paying late all the time and you're always doing this or that or X or Y or Z and it's really getting to me .
I'm going to talk to you and we're going to try to fix it and I see that we can't fix it. I am going to ask you to remove your child from my program. I have no problem determining people, there are some providers who are shy about determining people. I don't, if I feel like it doesn't work, it just doesn't work and I'm sorry, but that's my manual guys, this video is very long. but I wanted to film it because I think this manual contains a lot of good information.
