iPhone 11 Pro vs Pixel 4: GAME OVER

Mar 10, 2024
When the iPhone 11 Pro came out, it seemed like there was always something hanging over your head. One spectrum yet to be tested was a

pixel

. For now that we have it in hand, it was a weight worth it. We have a full

pixel

to review. We'll get into more minutiae and details about the devices soon, but overall, how do these compare to the flagship giants? The most important thing is which one you should buy. It has been what Google has been looking for with the pixel. Now that I've said I think this is the best. -Version of any Pixel device, but that doesn't mean it's objectively beautiful nor is the iPhone 11 Pro.

It's a decent looking phone, but I don't think it's particularly beautiful. It's not the most attractive iPhone ever released. two phones next to each other definitely look like they were inspired by the same design language let's say it's metal it's glass they have the same square camera humps the iPhone is a better looking device although it's like a Ron Howard Clint Howard situation here, but none of these for our beauty queens, there is a lot to talk about when it comes to screens. I don't think Google has done a very good job with pixel displays in the past, there have been burn-in issues, color saturation issues, this is a really good display and I commend Google for going the 90 Hertz route.

More Interesting Facts About,

Things look beautiful, they look fluid. There is a dynamic refresh shift here, so for doing something that Google doesn't consider worthy of 90 Hertz, it will be reduced. It's a really good screen. That's something I haven't been able to say about pixel displays in the past, the colors are bright and vibrant, the blacks obviously look very black with the older technology, it's definitely not the brightest and best example I've seen. I can give that and that was taking photographs again. My son at a soccer

game

and I had a hard time seeing the screen on pixel 4, so no matter how good the refresh rate is, if you can't see a screen, that's going to be a problem on the iPhone side of things.

Same time. situation, the screen becomes brighter. I see the screen in that same football

game

, it's not ninety hertz, it doesn't look as smooth, but among the panels that are not ninety hertz, I think it's still one of the best screens. I initially started testing the pixel using a normal non-Excel pixel and thought my device was broken I thought I had a bad pixel at 4:35 I had almost zero percent battery life. Turns out my phone wasn't broken. The pixel 4 has absolutely horrendous battery life, now it's better. on the 4 XL I could almost get through a full day, it gave me 20-25% extra battery life and that's a big deal, the battery life on the pixel 4 is almost unforgivable to the point where you can't use this. phone if you're not going to be around a charger all day and the battery life was so horrendous, especially when you compare it to the battery life of the iPhone, now it's true that you're sacrificing that 90 Hertz green, which For some it might be a big deal, but the iPhone 11 Pro and pro max are almost 2 day phones, at least a day and a half, and they have such good battery life that it made the pixel look much worse.

Face unlock is also a big deal here, it's the first time Google themselves have included it in their phones and obviously when compared to Face ID it works incredibly fast, it's faster than the already fast Face ID, but for On the other hand, it will very happily unlock with your eyes closed and Google said the fix will come in months, but until that is fixed here, I can only evaluate it with my eyes closed. Now I don't have anything that worries me too much about someone holding my phone while I sleep, but it is a security risk when you compare these technologies. side by side you can decide which is best for you so I've said it before but I think Google listed the 855 and says the 55-plus was a Miss v55 it's a little outdated but it's a very capable processor on the side from Apple, the a13.
Bionic is an absolute beast, it has four gigabytes of RAM on the iPhone side versus six on the Pixel side and what that means in the use case is really next to nothing. Both phones are incredibly fast. I didn't stutter. I know some have had Ram and even problems on the iPhone side, but I haven't experienced those booms, they were incredibly fast and everything I threw at them, so if there is a category that separates these phones above most the others and it's the biggest topic of debate, it's a camera, the pixel has been the King camera for years I think the camera quality benchmark set by the pixel three was unmatched for almost an entire year.
Apple came back with an answer, they came back with holes that were being filled, we have night mode, better HDR video improvements, but Google also stepped up their game, so when looking at the images coming straight out of the cameras from auto mode, it's you may not see much difference. I think the pixel images look a little more processed, but to some eyes that actually looks a lot better, the iPhone photos look a little more real, so what Google did with a relatively generic Sony sensor on the pixel three again is pretty amazing, but now there are two on board, you have the normal wide angle that we saw last time. year and now you have a two x telephoto lens and that was controversial, a lot of people expect it to be ultra wide angle.
I'm clearly in the telephoto camp. I like having it ultra wide angle, it's nice to have; If I had to choose one, I'm going to use the telephoto lens and when it comes to photos taken with the telephoto lens, well, I have issues with the Google UI. I think overall the photos that come from the telephoto lens look better to my eye on the Pixel than they do on the iPhone. photos taken from wide angle I think it might be a tie sometimes iPhone photos look better sometimes a phone pixel looks better there was nothing that was too Regehr, in fact it was the winner for me in that category in the you do see the difference.
Does the iPhone 11 Pro have a third sensor? Here you have an ultra wide. Well, I may not be the biggest user of ultrawide. There are cases where I like to have it during the weekend. I went out with my wife and a group of friends. and I was able to take an ultra wide shot and put us all in one photo, which was awesome, so my use case may not be every day. I have the option to take those photos whenever I want, one of the big stories I think we saw here was night mode Apple didn't have one and the three pixel night mode looked really good but apples backed off we have a night mode now it's automatically turns on what you want to take pictures of and I was impressed with what kind of shots you can get Apple isn't trying to make the night look like daytime, they're just trying to make the shot look like what you can usually see with your eyes and they make a very good job now that they are not noise free.
With a lot of imagination, they look great and again, I'm not trying to make a dark sky look blue. What Google is doing is a little different by trying to fully brighten the images, I think it almost makes a dark sky look blue. You get a lot more noise on the pixel side than with the internal IFO. It's also a separate mode that you have to enter to use now, something that might not be a problem, but I like that the iPhone does it automatically. As good as the still cameras have been on the Pixel and other Android devices, video has created a huge gap between what Apple is capable of and what Google devices can do, and while the Pixel 4 records very well videos, you have more options again. it won't shoot 4k at 60 and for you that might not be a problem.
Google said people prefer to shoot at 30 so that's what we did and it seems like an Apple type response that sounds like you're holding it wrong, it seems that way. I'll tell you what you like and use it it's weird to see that it comes from Google I wish you had the option I want to shoot 4k 60 let me shoot 4k 60 that's not the case here neither the front nor any of the rear cameras and well still so the video looks good, there are more options we have with the iPhone, the iPhone just has stability, the video quality looks better, the HDR images look better, it's still not quite close on the video front and so the price you are paying.
These devices, the more options the better and having more options to choose from is generally not something you associate with Apple, which has generally been Androids Jam, but here, having the flexibility of that ultra wide angle, having the telephoto lens and having a lens Really good regular standard makes the iPhone 11 professional. a more versatile camera system so they are intangible, lots of little things that make these phones unique and one area where Google completely outshines and beats Apple is support. Google assistant is much better than Siri and almost all the scenarios are not even new. on pixel radars, Ollie's previous projects, it works and I want to warn that it works as advertised, but what it does is not that useful. waving your hands to change songs is nice.
I don't really have to use it. I like that that makes the phone aware of what's happening so if I pick it up I move my hand towards it, things like that are good, the iPhone without radar does a lot of things very similarly so it's nice to have . It's not a reason to buy a phone, but it's certainly a welcome addition here and maybe software updates will come that will add more features and give it more utility, so both phones have a lot of things similar. I liked the two front speakers. on the pixel three those are gone now the four and the one after the 11pro use the earpiece and speaker from other things here you have wireless charging on both apples I got an official IP rating obviously the price is a great one too problem here, starting at 800 dollars for the pixel and then a thousand for the iPhone, that's a big problem on the other hand, although you're really going to increase up to 128 of storage with the pixel, it's a hundred dollars to get to that point in the iPhone side, you double the one you should wait and go to 256 if you want more than that, although the pixel is capped at 128, where is the iPhone? and go up to 512 so we have battled these phones and in retrospect both devices say they are very similar. stories are the software manufacturers that make hardware and in the case of Apple, the only ones that make the hardware when it comes to Google, they control Android, they control the hardware here, it is a completely vertically integrated product, so in In theory, this should be the best version of Android.
The best example of what Google software and hardware can do together is available, but in practice it's not like that, you have an amazing camera system with limited video, you have a beautiful screen that is killing your battery life, the pixel 4 seems to be full of contradictions, it does some things surprisingly well in the industry and then some strange and strange broadcasts that I can't understand why, well I love what Google is trying to do with the pixel line, the pixel to, it seems, take some steps forward. As a giant step backwards, part of the pixel represents removing the operating system preference.
If I have both phones on a table and I have to choose one, I will choose the one that will give me more flexibility in the camera and give me more flexibility for video. it has a good enough screen it has battery life that will last me a whole day that's what matters more than anything that's what matters to me more than iMessage or airdrop it can last the day and it will give you the flexibility to do what I need to do and when I go out in the morning I don't know what I'm going to need to do on my phone, maybe I'll need it to last until midnight, I'll even want to take ultra white photos or maybe just be able to charge it at noon and just take some normal photos, I don't I know, the iPhone answers those questions, the pixel still leaves a lot to be desired.
