Can you beat Pokemon Scarlet using ONLY Pikachu?

Mar 14, 2024
Pikachu has been Pokémon's main mascot for over 20 years, and with the Pikachu Mystery Gift available to purchase in the new Scarlet and Violet games, I decided to try something no one has ever done before. I'm going to

beat

Pokémon Scarlet

using

only

one Pikachu, the rules for this challenge are very simple. I can

only

use Pikachu in battle and the held items are the only ones that can be used in battle, meaning there are no healing items at all. Now in previous Pokémon games the goal was simply to defeat. Elite Four and then the champion, but this game is unique, while we complete those tasks, we will also complete the other two main missions, putting down the five titans and defeating all the members of the star team.

This challenge is quite a difficult task as Pikachu. is incredibly fragile being a stage 1 Pokémon with incredibly average stats, any hard hitting attack would mean a big problem for this challenge, but Pikachu has a pretty decent selection of moves to work with, so we'll have the type coverage to do. this at least a little. possible with all this said let's start our adventure let's see the walking animation oh wow look at this this is cool look at me I'm going in circles oh what the hell wait how fast can we become holy to start the game Pikachu is not available for us so I chose to choose the only viable option of the generation 9 starters, Foy Coco, which will be used only until we have access to the Poke portal that we get after completing the tutorial story at the school.

This mystery gift is available to anyone who purchases it. Scarlet or Violet early and Pikachu is given a Flying Terror type along with the Flying move we'll perform later upon receiving my Pikachu. I check its nature, which is bold, increases defense but reduces attack. This isn't great, but it will do. Fly box Coco and enter my first battle, no one shoots me, oh wow, since Pikachu's stats are naturally lower than most Pokémon we'll encounter. I took some extra time to build up special attacks and speed up EVS on the first few lanes

using

some power.

The items we got early to increase production and ensure we got the EVS we wanted. Eevee, also known as effort values, are hidden stats you receive after defeating Pokémon. The types of EVS you receive can dictate which specific stats work best when leveling up after completion. this river with fried psyducks and weasels I hit the road to officially begin my journey

scarlet

and violet give you an open world concept that allows you to choose what you will undertake first after heading west from mesogoza I found myself in the first city cut gym where I looked to face Katie and her bug-type Pokémon, but somehow managed to find myself pushing an olive through an obstacle course, how the hell do you do this?

Get in there, yeah, yeah, get out of my way, loser, oh my god, jump. There we go, apparently the standard gems are too simple nowadays, so they make you engage Goofy in mini-games and then call it good. I don't know, we reached the goal that grants us access to our first fight in the gym. Katie has three Pokémon with her. The end is Teddy Ursa and it's over, uh, one less gym badge, so Scarlett and Violet's newest mechanic, ground, still, motionless, stylized, I don't really know how to pronounce this word, carousel, allows your Pokémon take the form of a unique typing that gives moves that typing stab and allows for new resistances and weaknesses.
Since our Pikachu has a Flying Terror type, taking out bug Pokémon is pretty easy, especially when you're using an incredibly strong move like Fly. And for those of you who say this Pikachu is too overpowered, I will. I'm just saying, I don't think I could have won this game without this Flying Terror guy. Next we head back east to Massagoza City to take on the first of the five Titans, the Stony Cliff Titan, oh what a big crab he is. a type of rock, which means terrasilizing would be a very bad choice, so I opted to shoot it twice with electroball after running away the first time.
I caught him again and defeated him definitively claiming our first titan victory, it's very easy, and we also got the ability to run on karadon, which is very useful, I will say makuhita sweat, that's disgusting, why did I pick him up as it progressed? I fought in the Den raid spread across the world and realized very quickly that these raids were going to be the quickest and easiest way to level up our Pikachu with each raid awarding numerous XP candies, fighting alone in a A couple of raids would guarantee me at least a level or two.
Our next stop was the grass-type gym that resides in Artisan, where we have to find 10 sunflora, wait. only two right there what they're not even hiding one more there it is I see it there don't get me out of this thing stop, get out of the way a little bit of Flora yeah, once we find all this in Flora the only thing left is to fight the gym leader and it's over again, okay, two badges less. I know it may seem easy now, but it gets a lot worse as the game progresses on my way to my second Titan.
I stumble upon the TM for thief, which is incredibly important to have TM for later we head to the top of Titan Mountain to fight Bombardier, a large electric type stork, it was an incredibly difficult battle and I almost lost. I slept with Bombardier down. I have access to swim, which is actually not that useful, but it gives us access to some TMS later. The next stop on our list was facing Giacomo, the first five star leader. It was here that I learned that you need three Pokémon to take on. star bombings, so I made it an extra rule since I need three Pokémon.
I can only use the other two on star blitzes and while fighting the boss if my Pikachu faints I can't do damage with the other two, this worked well but I'm not really a fan of the battle style even if I had a real team, it's just not good. Here I also learned that River's rooms are the dumbest Pokémon I've ever seen. What is this car? Pokémon, I mean, what is this? What is this? I got a body on my first try. Then I tried to double team to win, but you thought it would be ridiculous and silly to not miss even once, so I stepped back to get a few more levels.
Raids and Desert Flyers were able to get me up to level 34, where I was able to learn how to download a massive Spark or Electro Ball upgrade. Return to Giacomo Land two doubles. teams and after a bit of luck, three volleys take down the river room, giving me my first star badge, defeating Giacomo gives us access to the city of Kaskarafa, the location of the water gyms, my plan was not to face him yet, but there was a TM nearby who taught. I dig, what I didn't realize was that the way to get said TM was actually the most painful thing on the planet and if I wasn't fighting the Electric Gym next, I would have just waited for it to send Serena, oh yeah. that makes a 53.
Okay, don't fight any people around here, dear God, all this for digging, huh, after escaping, point to medal, I finally managed to get dig and we headed to Lavincia for our third gym badge. Pokémon decided to become cool. and modern in this game, creating aiono, a gym leader hybrid with live streaming, it's strange when they do it. I played Waldo for a bit and also realized I was calling her Lono the whole challenge because I'm stupid is it Lono or iono oh wait it's iono I'm dumb as ions like electricity holy I'm stupid Pikachu learned Thunderbolt in level 36 and replaced shock with dig and was ready to fight Iona, she has an electric flying type and a miss magius with levitation so in the grand scheme of things digging was almost useless after six double teams and take a few hits, we managed to

beat

iono for our third gym badge.
I need my desk. Mela, the star of the team, was next on my list since she was right next to Lavincia. so naturally I went there, this could have given me one of the biggest fights in the entire game. Torkel, its lead Pokémon has the ability to dry adding sunlight and increasing the power of fire-type moves since reverum is faster. My Pikachu had absolutely zero chance. I returned to Lavincia to find one of Pikachu's best moves. To surf. This move gives me incredible cover, but after trying melee and losing again, I decided to go fight at the Kaskarafa Gym.
Instead, I was sent to Porto Maranata and after returning Kofu's wallet, I stood at a small table and spent forty-five thousand dollars in laundered money to win the wakami seaweed auction by completing the gym challenge. Who would have guessed four badges minus four? I did a couple more raids to get some levels and after I reached the level. Candy 46 I decided I might as well make the next Titan instead of being a Steel type with below average special defense. Earthworm had no chance of shooting him. Why is Pikachu dead on the ground? giving us our third completed Titan of five, so that's how big an earthworm is, it's definitely average, it should be average, and the ability to jump high as something else that also jumps very high at this point.
I wanted to get Mela out of the way. so I decided to use brute force until it burned, we are defeated again, but our second attempt gives us victory and our second star badge me when I defeated Mela from the star team after defeating Mela, I realized that the Pokémon me they were reaching. in stats and leveling up could only help a lot if you remember we got the TM for thief a while ago. The Thief move is unique because it allows you to steal any item from your opponents. This is extremely important because wild Pichus and Pikachus have a special Item called a ball of light.
This item is extremely rare as only five percent of all wild Pichus and Pikachus hold it, not only that but the item can only be used by Pikachu and holding it will double Pikachu's attack and this item's special attack. guy. Stat boosts are extremely valuable and with the entire back half of the game remaining Pikachu will need all the help he can get, we ended up getting really lucky and after only 12 encounters we managed to get the light bulb, yeah come on. Now that we have the light ball, I visited Madali to face the fifth gym, we fight the three trainers and talk to the man at the bar to find the four clues and after ordering the correct dish, we have access to face Larry, the normal leader.
Come on, oh my god, where did all the people who were eating there go? those people just got killed, they just died the ball of light has an immediate impact and I go through their Pokémon without a single thought passing through that little brain of mine five badges down and 50 levels on my Pikachu I feel pretty good. I forgot that Tara had her eyes locked during my fight with Nimona and I ended up losing because of it, but it doesn't really matter much, I didn't even care. It wasn't a big deal if I'm completely honest, I'm so angry, how can I lose your spring?
I did, oh, twice we received Terra Blast from Gita and left for our next destination, so after the first day we have completed five gems, three titans and two star leaders. The first destination we have on the second day is Atticus, the star leader of the poison team. We take on the raids surrounding the area and then head inside the raids. Take me to level 58 and I do a sweep. the star bombing isn't too difficult along with Atticus giving me a quick star badge number three Gunk shot ew, Montana Vera's ghost gym is at the top of the ridge so we have a bit of a hike ahead of us to venture towards above.
The mountain takes us to Glaciado first, so we take the Waypoint and continue past it. Nice big jump, what the hell is going on? We arrived in Montana Vera shortly after and headed straight to the gym. This gym uses double battles, so I was forced to bring them. my fire accompanies you on the journey, don't worry, although I use surf and kill everything in the field anyway, it's as easy as that, you know, I have a grid in Fue Coco that shows how much Pikachu hates my other Pokémon, gym trainers don't. problem, we managed to defeat the wet critic in a battle and after witnessing one of the most embarrassing rap battles in history, we are ready to fight rhyme, what a quirky and unique name, we actually ended up losing our first attempt, but after leveling up with candy to 62, gaining victory over rhyme since we were at the northern edge of the map.
I jumped to one of the islands of theNorth to pick up the TM Broken Brick for more guy cover as the trembling Earth Titan, the great Tusk, is our next target which we fast travel to. the area surrounding the desert and jumps in doing a couple of raids before we fight him, a couple of flies take him down and Arvin joins us to defeat the great Tusk for good, bringing our Titan tow rule to four, our karate gains the ability to slide, which is cool guys, you know what's crazy Pikachu has a move that is strong against all types in the game.
Next on our list is the alfernata psychic gym. I make a few more raids and after climbing the mountain and crossing the cave we reach our destination. I head to the gym where I confront Nimona again. I learned my lesson from last time, so I handled her team by making sure Tara kept looking at her scarata meow and the match was a wash. Then I had to participate in the emotional practice of Spectrum. I don't even know anymore ma'am, I miss the days when you walked in silly little patterns to fight the gym leader we practiced making faces for the thumbnails for a couple of minutes and apparently my emotional chakras were aligned enough to allow me access He fought against the leader.
I use my candy to boost Pikachu up to level 70 and you can probably guess what happened to his foreign Pokémon gym badges and we're absolutely chatting before we head out and move to the southeast section and get our finale. Coverage TM rough play made it tight, stupid, little diaper, baby, child, little baby, since we have the Waypoint for the deglaciated ice gym We fly back there to take on the gym challenge. I slide downhill very quickly and apparently that's all it takes to access the final gym of the game. I don't really understand it much, but let's not go.
To worry me, I fight the leader Grusha Russia, something like that I guess, and similarly to the last gym, level 70 proves to be too much for the ice-type Altaria and the other Pokémon with this badge in my possession. Now I have obtained each and every one of them. gym badge that allows entry to the elite four, but we're not going there yet because there are a few more stops before we get there. Ortega, the leader of the fairy star, is just down the mountain from where we are, so after facing a couple of raids on the mountain, we slide down and confront him immediately, the bombardment of stars was the same, since they are always a waste of time.
Ortega has four Pokémon and they all stink. I won and only took 30 damage and the 4th star badge was mine, more rage, our final destination as a Titan is Lake Kesaroya where we will face the fake Dragon Titan, according to Arvin no one has seen the Titan before so it will surely take long time to find it. Oh my god, I was just farming these idiots. Bye, there you go man, it's cool that you saw it even though no one else has seen it before, that's crazy, awesome, okay buddy, we bought the Dom Bozo with a single Thunderbolt, follow it to escape the cave and then a Shooting.
Again, okay, we took down the tatsugiri and the Titan has been defeated marking the five completed. Corydon gains his final vertical climbing ability and the Titan Quest is almost complete. Also, stiff mabow is finally better and that was a touching moment that I really appreciated. In this game, Arvin and I return to the lighthouse at the beginning of the game and after learning about the meaning of area zero in Paldea Crater, we face Arvin one last time to complete the Titan Quest. The first time I underestimated his team. hit by a greedon quake and losing almost all my health, his other

pokemon

weren't really threats until i got to his rigid mobile which i couldn't shoot and died in a crunch after trying a couple more times i noticed i could .
Terrasilize to avoid the earthquake, but Mumbai Steps' attack stat was too high and I couldn't defeat him before he caught me. We finally leveled up once to 76, allowing us to do a crunch that gave us the win over Arvin. This completed the first of three. Legends path missions plus Ray AIDS all that was left was the last member of the team, the star Airy, the star bombing was the same as any other star bombing and Arie gave us no real challenge to finish off the last of the five. Star Leaders We returned to the academy and discovered that Clive was actually Principal Clavel.
Wow, what a surprise. Carnation had some strong Pokémon, but Pikachu's move coverage is able to overcome it. I also got to see what Quay Quavel finally looks like. Clavel tells us to meet. with Cassiopeia in the schoolyard for our final battle and we meet Penny, another shock. I assumed that both Pennys had a full team of Eeveelutions, which makes sense given Eevee's backpack. I thought this fight was going to be easy with my Pikachu and at level 79 I thought it wouldn't be so bad, oh my god look at that, oh dear Christ this fight was surprisingly the hardest fight in my entire game.
I tried leveling up and coming back, but Pokémon would change the moves they used as I grew. so I actually did worse at level 84 than I did at level 79. I finally managed to beat her after getting my Pikachu up to level 92, but my god, this fight was such a hurdle, oh yeah, let's finally go to level 93 , we finally did it. Dude, oh my god, I meet Penny once again outside of school and the Star Quest team is finally complete. I make the trek to the Pokémon League and enter to begin my final quest line. take down poppy Thunderbolt runs through Larry and plays Ruff finishes off Harrow, come on honey, I didn't lose a 90 accuracy, okay, I'll take down the first three again, I make my last rough play and take down Harold.
All that remains is Gita, the champion. Thunderbolt's clashes are so pathra and avalog King gamut Falls into a quadruple effective brick break Go Goat Falls into a fly and Thunderbolt finishes off Volusia and Glamoura crowning Paudia's American champions but there is still one more fight left to truly take the throne a rematch final with Nimona the stage is set in the mesagosa square and our final battle begins excavation knock down lycanroc and pomon brick brick crush worm and did not play hard knock down Goodra and one last fly ends the terror of Meowskarada in my entire life with that finally We have become the true champion with our final rival fight out of the way, our mission in the gym is finally complete, all that remains is the final mission of the game, heading to area 0, the crater pales, the three of them join us on our journey towards the crater and as we go further and further down you learn more about what really happened down here I chose to avoid fighting anything to save some time.
Professor Sada asks us to remove the locks from the research labs and as we get to each one we find more and more strange Pokémon once we reach the Sada room. decides to stop being human and tells us about the events of the past and the only way to truly stop the spread of the time machine by defeating Sada's AI in a final battle, so without further ado I present to you the final test of strength of Pikachu that Sada's AI has. started a battle, send Slither Wing, what the hell is he fighting? She has all the Pokémon Primal clearly we fly here, right, there has been some kind of air here recalculating critical damage, breed Bonnet, we fly, let's go to a battle of beating the entire game using only Pikachu four. more Pokémon Sandy shocks what are you?
