I Have to Share This Secret Before I Retire

Jun 29, 2024
Rev your engines if your car creaks. I'm going to show you how you can fix it with some spray grease. Now, when I was a young mechanic, dinosaurs roamed the earth. Hey, when they changed your oil, we mechanics would change. its oil filter and we had a grease gun. We would put the grease guns on all the grease fittings on the car. Well they stopped using grease nipples on almost all vehicles eons ago, all the parts that used to

have

grease nipples now simply

have

a piece of metal, a rubber bushing and then the rubber bushing is pressed against another piece of metal so that the metal that moves can move inside the rubber bushing and stop all vibrations.

Be nice and firm so it doesn't shake and they don't make any noise until they grow up and since there are no grease fittings what are you going to do with

this

white lithium grease? You can use any brand. This is the cheapest one I could find. You will notice that it comes with a straw. The straw goes in a small hole now you can spray it into the cracks. I have never used it in my womb and it doesn't make any squeaky noises because it has spent most of its life in Texas where things don't rust or corrode.

On the other hand, my son's Corolla lives in the land of Massachusetts. Look at the underside of

this

vehicle, but first we'll apply the emergency brake so it doesn't roll. We'll get my big cat Daytona. There's the notch for the jack. points up, it goes right there, start pumping it up first, you know it's going to roll downhill, so I'm going to push it with one leg and pump it with the other. Now it's nice and tight, we can lift it up and we'll remove the. wheel look I guess rice the first time amazing what skill I guessed all these years look I mean things are so hard listen to you and the nuts stick again it sticks and we'll do the last one what a pain in the butt How do you remove the wheel ?

Even the wheel doesn't come off. This is what corrosion does to your car. It's only six years old, but look at that rust and corrosion, that's what happens up north with all the salt they throw around. The brakes are working fine, but you can see with all this corrosion that the rotor is simply corroding. Eventually you're going to have to replace it and you notice that it was difficult to remove because it corroded here, so we're going to spray in some lithium. grease this before you put it back together but when you hear these creaking noises like his as you can see there are rubber bushings here this is where the swing goes up and down the lower control arm there are rubber bushings there and when You look in here there are rubber bushings and look at that one, you can see how rusty all that junk is, it's going to start creaking.

I've been testing this pressure washer tool and so far it's pretty good, just brought it to your house, it's really strong. but it weighs a lot so it's on a stand I screwed on and it slides up and out, you have to hide it in the winter it will freeze and break, just turn it on and the best thing about it is you get a peek. a hundred foot spool that doesn't bend and you take it out, it comes out and then when you want it to go back in, you shake it, you unlock it, it goes back in and you'll see the bottom move back and forth and it doesn't it bends at the back because look the cheap ones only have one hole and it will attach to one end to get stuck this makes it go evenly back and forth so we'll take it out under the corolla and it's thirty meters so We're not worried, we're going to spray all the caps and in this case there are different tips.
This is a 15 degree tip. I want a stronger one. We will use tip number zero. It is a straight tip. More pressure. You'll get more dirt out and all you have to do is go to where the bushings that start on the lower control arm are and clean them out, as you can see this is going to blow up all the cable that you want to get in there and make all the rubber. bushings up and down, so I didn't have to do this before because I was in Houston when they creaked, they weren't really rusty, just spray the lithium on them and the grease would keep them from creaking.
Here there are disasters that you have to give. It's all rust, so use the pressure washer and then spray off the grease. If you want it to spray well, shake it. There's a ball because it's liquid grease and then, like here, we're going to spray the top of the socket from the bottom. Don't go to the other side, it's hidden in here, let's put it right on one side and then go to the other side, put it in there, just in case, we'll put the bushing here on the sway bar, notice that when you push the arms lower control ball, the shocks go up and down, up and down and it has to rotate on these rubber bushings and then those rubber bushings come back in here, now they're lubricated, now of course you can't lubricate the lower ball joint because it's a sealed unit as is the tie rod end.
You can see that it has a rubber sleeve, but you can't grease it because there is no grease. If you ever replace a tie rod, get a tie rod end that has a grease fitting and then you can grease it. and it will last longer, but lasting a long time is not really the idea for automakers now if you remember the wheel was getting stuck here, so let's do all the nuts and you can see it's stuck on the pieces. Now if you're lazy and get something on the disc like I did you have to clean it, just apply some aerosol cleaning spray, adjust the rotor and then wipe it off, now it's good, now we can put the wheel back on .
It won't stick next time and now the next time we remove the steering wheel we won't have to kick it. Well, let's look under the hood. We open it. You can see it's a typical New England car. The battery terminal is. the corroded alternative is growing, it still runs fine, but a lot of corrosion occurs, it's a thing that happens, it's a corolla, runs fine, gets phenomenal gas mileage, but there will always be corrosion up north, you can't escape it the salt. so let's put it down gently, which I can't do with one hand because I'm getting old, so I'm going to leave it and use both hands, there we go and we'll do the other side again, the same exercise we'll do. put the jack in the jack slot and we're going to do the same pressure washing, you don't want to spray grease on the rust, we spray the machines, we go there on the inside and we go on the other side, on the inside. on one level you don't care how much you use you want it to stay and it sticks pretty well like it says here it won't freeze it won't melt or run white lithium grease when you see a lot of rust eventually i will have to replace the Rotor because it just it will rust, but you can see how everything is rusted here, so just spray it on the bolts and over and over again.
I sprayed some more on it, so we'll get the brake cleaner. You only care about the shiny part and clean it. Everything ready, now we can put the wheel back on. Once the wheels are back on, we'll gently lower it and take it for a road test. Now I know some people are picking on this fan, so they'll be like, Scott, you should have done that. I put down towels or something to catch the grease, but I actually have this nice pressure washer, but I just used it. It creaked when I took hard corners, so let's take a hard corner and see what happens.
Well, we're turning a corner now. let's not hear anything let's go to the end of the street to turn right that creaking noise is gone that was just trash from your trunk bouncing around now that we've turned around we'll turn left the squeaking noise is gone there too back and forth back and forth without crunching noises people we went over the bump now the stores in Massachusetts are trying to tell you you need struts you need bushings you need control arm but really all I needed was some lithium grease if the suspension parts were worn the tire it would wear evenly these tires are worn perfectly straight no scuffs or scallops nothing wrong other than this thing has lived its entire life in massachusetts where they use a ton of salt in the winter on the road and it corrodes things how can it be fixed a squeaky car with a little can of lithium spray grease and I have to say I'm impressed with this giraffe pressure washer because look at that, no more yelling and cursing, bending hoses and having to reel them in yourself. it goes right back to where it came from, but it's interesting, that's all because it has this cam gear here that slides it back and forth so it winds evenly and you don't have to have someone sitting there feeding it, everything make one. person, so why not be like me? fix everything yourself you will save a fortune you will have peace of mind knowing it was done right and here are some additional questions and answers eric says i got poor gas mileage on my honda crv i got an o3 and 2016.
The air filter it's good. Oil changes are performed. Both are automatic transmissions. The spark plugs are replaced. How can I get that to get better gas mods? The 03 gets 16 mpg and the 16 gets 22 in mixed driving, yeah well that's horrible. the one where you get 16 miles per gallon could very well be that your mass air flow sensor needs to be replaced but it could also be dirty check out my video make your car run better with some spray cleaner do it to clear the throttle and clean the mass air flow sensor, you may want to put a good fuel injection cleaner in the gas tank.
I like that Bernie, the guy in Albuquerque, he's a company called ats and he has a fuel injection cleaner to pour into a gas tank that actually works. I asked a guy to put it on. on a car that got good gas mileage and ended up getting another 25 miles on a tank of gas after driving it on a couple tanks of gas with the cleaner in it so it could be dirty. The injectors are doing it too and you can easily put it on things, it works pretty well, a lot of cleaners are gimmicks but a t s fuel injection cleaner is your thing.
Just Google it, you'll see it has to say very clever guys with the cleaners they've invented, but they also clean the mass air flow sensor. Step on the gas because it will do the same thing, so if you don't want to miss another one of my new car repair videos, remember to ring that bell.
