PANTRY ORGANIZATION | How we organized my pantry and kitchen with The Container Store

transformation and I partnered with the

for this amazing project, but also. From that, you guys know that my husband and I are not DIYers, so we worked with one of the most phenomenal organizers, Estella Omotayo, small living, to help us put together our entire

kitchen

, so I'll show you. I started with a consultation with estella omotayo of small life. We did a consultation at her house where she has such a beautiful office. She explained all my options to me. I was able to see the beautiful design of her

, where she really gave me a good understanding and idea of ​​how she could design my own

kitchen

and pantry. We talked about everything she wanted. my vision and then she came to take measurements of our pantry after we got the measurements we selected custom fonts for the bins and then took the time to sort each item from the bin

once we received them Estella got to work to place everything. so carefully inside our pantry, of course, I had to remove everything, but you don't even want to see what I look like during that process.

I love how she took her time to make sure everything fit perfectly. I handled the food and she did it. the second day of organizing she came back to put the custom labels on each jar and on the third day this is where we start focusing on the pull out pantry now let's do a big tour so one of the first things I love about it What Estella did with our kitchen was that we took all of our condiments, especially the ones that we use the most, and she actually recommended that we use these oxo

s from the container store, so Estella takes the time to label each of these articles, which looks Very good, and you know, these are our bay leaves.

We use a lot of bay leaves for some of the African foods we eat, but we have this for literally everything, so these are our maggies. We have all the condiments there. We have our thyme. um god rosemary noor african pepe all that stuff so when you're ready to take everything out with the oxo containers at the container store all you have to do is open like this and it comes out and they're still closed tight so bam ! Most of the seasonings and spices we put inside our kitchen cabinets expire in 2025 and we cook quite often in this house, so we know we'll probably have to refill them again before 2025, so come on, let me take it. so you see the rest of what we're going through here on this side, pretty much the same thing, we didn't really want to fill things up with glasses just because we feel like again we cook a lot so we wanted to have everything and I think it's so nice how again everything is labeled, we still have the little pop the oxo containers, the nice thing about them is that they come in different shapes and sizes, so we love that here is another thing that Estella made, we really get them.

Cool bottles, he put them around to label our oils because we use a lot of vegetable oil in addition to olive oil and this was just a spare that we put in here for anything else we want to add, but we got all of this from at the container store, you can listen to my son, he's excited about the video, but yeah, you can get all this stuff at the container store, one of my favorites, which I think is super cute and by the way, guys, I'll be sure to link everything. in the description box on all of these items and if you need someone to make custom labels for you you can obviously go to etsy but Estella is the best so if you see the inside here one of the things is I hate the look of our cabinets.

So far everything is clean and pretty, we've put all of our condiments in alphabetical order, we actually took the time, so this is really like a Mrs Dash spicy, but we put everything inside here and just added a custom label again. Estella made all of these for us we didn't get them from the container store but I'll be sure to link all the places where you can actually get these bottles so another thing we really liked about what Estella was able to do for us was create more space so we can use another pantry so they were actually cabinets and we ended up turning it into a pull out pantry so let me tell you what I mean obviously we wanted to put breakfast stuff in here also snacks and everything else up there. but the container store actually offers this pull out pantry here, so instead of us having to reach far back, this pull out drawer now gives us the ability to reach everything without reaching too far, so we got these really nice ones.

While coming back from the container store, I used to have spices and seasonings here, but now we use them for snacks. Yeah, look, there's a Jedi there. Another reason why, since he's here, we wanted to have an easy place for him to access his snacks. instead of him having to go into my pantry and mess up everything he likes to eat often we put it here so I'll keep adding some extra things and it gives us plenty of room for when jedediah gets older or when we have more kids this is like your take out place, we've put some pretzels and things up here, graham crackers, chips, everything I want to also spend a little time like before, what we used to do is we actually used to put water in the garage, so Now we no longer have to go to the garage to get water if someone comes to our house and wants room temperature water, or if they want cold water, everything is here if we need to add more water. to the refrigerator is right here the same with our cans.

I love drinking sparkling water, so we have all of that here, but again it's very easy to scoop out and then use, so we're going to do some extra removable stuff in our house. Oh yeah, okay, so you want some graham crackers, yeah, okay, let's get Jedediah some graham crackers, so something else that I really like. um it's just for that uniformity throughout the house is to be able to now my husband loves to eat cereal so cheerios specifically so um with these oxo containers again it's just a matter of pop boom there you have super easy pores and it looks super pretty and because they're still tight you'll never have to worry about them getting old, creepy little necklaces or bugs getting inside these so they're great so this is like our little pull out pantry area and it definitely created a lot more space. of these items were inside our pantry, which I'm about to show you now, but we were able to move them here, so now let's take a look at the beautiful, phenomenal pantry, so before I show you the pantry, I want you to see what the hell our pantry looked like. pantry before it was horrible um it was just there was stuff everywhere so now let's take a look at what it looks like now this is the fabulous transformed pantry okay so I want to talk about all the different things. that estella was able to do for us with the pantry, you'll notice that she just created some cool things, like first, you know, we have these containers, almost everything in here came from the container store, so these little wooden labels here she Made the custom labels there, um with her letters, but we have all of our disposables here, we have our medications here, these didn't come from the container store, but I'll link them in the description box where we got them. this didn't come from the container store either, but the labels i mean yes i can't remember, but again, all of these are custom made, any of the letters that were customized from bite size, living in stella omotayo, we have a lot of black, gold, white inside our house, so we really wanted that theme to carry inside our pantry, so in each section we have jedidiah down here playing with these trash bags, but we wanted it to be very easy for us to have access to our garbage bags drinks you know my husband every morning likes to have his little mocha frappuccinos we have them down here I think one of my favorites is I'm a bit of a eater so I love eating sweets, okay, so we have chocolate sweets here.

We have cookies back there we have m m is here um and then everything like we use a lot of onions we eat a lot of rusty potatoes so you want some candy okay mommy will bring you some candy but we have all of those things like lined up here we have our fruits here if you want see what we have with the fruits but I'm also going to have one of these we have our green beans eat a lot of spaghetti uh brown rice yam fufu for all my Nigerians who know all about that and we also have all kinds of things here but what What I want to do is draw attention to something that's really interesting.

I want them to see something here, so again they just open the container, but also when they buy all these items, because they may not eat all these things all the time, so it's one of the interesting things that they can do. what it does is the container store um and oxo, they actually offer this little thing, this little pop thingy that you can insert or put right into the lid, um and you can change what the expiration date is on that item so that way nothing of your food ever ages, you can always pay attention to everything, so obviously January 2022 is when our couscous will age, but we've done that with every single item here so that way we know we're not eating old food.

I love, love, love that about the container store or these oxo products, another thing is that we use, we use some different variety, like with I like what Estella does when it comes to designing pantries. She literally just says, "Okay, what's the vision?" You go by what your color scheme is and she knew that I was doing this partnership with the container store so she went and spent hours in her store to figure out everything that would work best for this space so she loves pretty things . I had to choose the fonts that I wanted and the fonts that would actually specifically fit all of the jars or all of the containers that we were using, so we have, oh, this is another cool thing that we have here, which is one of my favorites, so I'm going to get this out of the way real quick, but I love drinking tea, wow, so I really enjoy drinking tea, so I like the fact that the container store offers this.

I think it's really cool, how they can all be separated. your teas um when I was breastfeeding I used to drink breast milk so in the back I have a lot of breast milk but every time people come to your house like we have people from Nigeria coming or just people in general when they just want to have a cup of tea in the morning they have a great variety and it's really nice that they can just pick up and drink their teas in the morning so it's definitely something really cool that you can get at the container store a place to put you can, I think this is really cool, we have a lot of room here to do really interesting things and we still have a lot of room to grow, so yeah, oh, I should also point out here, we have these too.

We also have these wooden containers here where we can put our oils. Absolutely nothing will touch the floor. What if all your food doesn't fit properly inside? If it doesn't all fit inside, we have great ones. storage space that we can put in here, so we have for our rice because obviously we eat a lot of rice. We also have spare storage containers, but I also love the fact that we have this here just to separate it and make it all look cute again, these came from the container store and I think they are super cute and come with a lot of cutesy things.
