More Interesting Facts About,

here s 10 things wrong with my 2022 gladiator rubicon...

It's going to be more little things that are annoying little things that, like I said, I wish I could change and I wish I wasn't there, but let's get into it and start going down the list now that I'm in a parking lot here, so if you hear some other noises , that's what you hear, but let's go over it and see exactly what I'm talking about, so the first thing on my list will be on the back and now it's the bed lights, as you can see on the right. now the lights don't come on oh, I leaned on my key, there I see, okay, the key is here the lights don't come on if I lock the vehicle the lights don't come on if I unlock the vehicle there they go and they will stay on for a un short period of time and then they turn off by themselves, that's not very useful if I'm actually charging things.
here s 10 things wrong with my 2022 gladiator rubicon
I would love it if the lights stayed on or if there was a switch or something so I could go back here and be able to leave them on now there's a switch inside the outside so you have a switch right here when you press that the lights should come on so they're not on, so let's go and try it again if we press that again. Okay, now we have lights, but we say we're actually carrying things. You close the door. You're back here. You are carrying things. These lights always go off and the problem with that is that you have to leave the vehicle on or you have to leave the vehicle on. leave it on so those lights stay on unless you actually have the vehicle in accessory mode or running or on they go off as you can see now they just went off on me it hasn't been long maybe it's been about one or two minutes and it's daylight, so now yeah, if I open the door and come back here, you can see that little indicator on the dash, which means it's on, so you can see I can turn it off and on again. but like I said unless you leave the vehicle with the accessory on or running or running those lights will not stay on so if you leave it running this is my second point if I leave it running it says the keys are in my pocket, it will triple honk, it says you take the keys and leave them inside the vehicle, well now it doesn't do that, it basically warns you and lets you know that the vehicle is running or the vehicle has power and you left without the keys in the vehicle so whoever is driving doesn't have the keys or if you are the driver it just informs you that you left the vehicle on which is great, it's a good safety feature.
here s 10 things wrong with my 2022 gladiator rubicon
However, it is quite annoying because it is a great security feature. I don't always want to leave them there though, I say I want to go to Home Depot or somewhere or whatever and I'm loading my vehicle. I don't always want to. leaving the keys in the vehicle What happens if I walk away for a moment? I just don't think it's the best idea. I prefer to have the key in my pocket. Plus, it's a keyless vehicle that you don't actually need the key for. like flipping anything you just press a button so I never take it out of my pocket especially since I have keyless entry so the triple honk is pretty annoying it is what it is there is a way around it which I will mention in the finish the accessory lighting as you can see it is still on but we are still running so it is good that the lighting stays on when you have it running or if the vehicle is running but as you can see you have to . leave it on and if you don't have the key there it gets annoying with the triple honk every time you open a door and to me I feel like there should be a way to disable it in the settings. so many settings and there are so many different parameters that you can change and review on the actual dashboard or in the infotainment.
Honestly I think it should have been one of them, the triple honk is quite annoying and I've heard a lot of people mention that. and yeah I just think it's something that you should be able to turn off in the settings yourself so now next on my list number three is keyless entry so when you go to use keyless entry the vehicle is locked now everything is off the vehicle is locked you can see it off the lights in the back there is nothing on top close it it is locked like you are not there you will not get in there everything is locked if you go to the back doors they are closed no the fun part says I want to go and loading something into the vehicle, if I put my hand in here and touch the handle, it unlocks this door, so now this door is unlocked, however, that's it, like you can't touch it twice if you can.
Listen, it actually makes an unlocking sound, but it only opens the driver's door. This door is still closed. The tailgate is still closed. I understand why they did this because let's say you're alone in a parking lot or whatever, you're just somewhere where it is. It's a sketchy area and you don't want all the doors unlocked because maybe there's someone on the other side of the vehicle or maybe you don't know there's someone on the other side of the vehicle and they're hiding there and they're trying to sneak up on you or you. whatever and get into your vehicle the second you hear it unlock well like this you will only unlock this door, there is no possible way you can unlock more than one door, however I think there should be that option.
I have had many vehicles that have keyless entry and it usually works if you have the unlock button my button or the button on our Jeeps on the JLS and jts just locks so if you press this it is not going to unlock, it will just continue to lock the vehicle, if you want to unlock it, now you have to reach inside in my older vehicle, in my other vehicles. I should say that before this I had vehicles with keyless entry and if you put your hand in once and then touch it again it will unlock all the doors.
Now I feel like that's a lot more useful, especially with something like a truck where you're going to load stuff in the bed, there's no keyless key. entrance in the back there's nothing here you have to use the key fob which is great but if your hands are full then it's not great so there's no keyless key here now here you can see that the opened all so that you can close all the doors. your doors are locked and if I want to unlock this it unlocks everything, so when you go to the passenger side it will unlock all the doors, your tailgate, your front door, the passenger doors, everything, if you go to the driver's main door, It will only unlock the driver's door. front door, no matter how many times you knock on it one more time, this is a minor inconvenience, I'm picky, but these are things you will have to live with and things you will go through if you buy a new Gladiator or a new Wrangler and This It's something that's been quite annoying for me because every time I want to load something inside, basically what I have to do is open the door, find the button to unlock the doors and then I can unlock the back door, which is fine, no.
It's a big deal, it's first world problems, it's a big deal, you have to go and you have to press a button. I get it, but when you have keyless entry, you should have that option to unlock all the doors. Set your key fob so that if you press it once you can unlock the driver's door, press it twice and you can unlock all the doors. This is an option within the infotainment system. If you actually go in here, you can review your options and change. that and decide if you want it with one click or two clicks, you can also change if the horn sounds when you close the doors with one click or two clicks and honestly I think it should have that option to unlock all the doors, maybe it will , maybe I haven't found it, but to be honest with you, I tried and searched through all the settings and couldn't see it myself and for the next one we'll jump inside the Jeep and this.
One thing really surprised me so when you're using your fan and you're not using the air conditioner or the heater you're basically running it at room temperature or like room temperature and I basically use it for when I'm doing long trips down the highway in instead of having the window open. I like to have some air and I use the HVAC system. I don't actually turn on the air conditioning or heating. I'll set it up to like something close. 22 23 degrees and basically that gives me enough temperature that it's not hot or cold, but there's just good air so it doesn't feel stuffy and you can basically just drive without having the window open and I'm that kind of person.
I always love to have the window open in the summer or winter and if I'm on the road it's not always ideal to have the window open for so long, so I just turn on the air conditioning, turn on the fan, however, in every vehicle I have ever had, it's not really a problem, however, in this one, the fan speed increases with the speed of the vehicle. Now I don't know if it's where the entrance is in your real one, like the air intake from which you can't see it. here, but there is an air intake right on the deck and it draws in air for the HVAC system.
Now I don't know if it's because of the way everything is placed that simply forces that air to pass because it doesn't go. through a secondary system like the heater core or the air conditioning, but honestly, it pulls like it really pulls that air, so it pushes that air, I should say because it gets very, very strong and it gets to the point where setting number seven and configuration number one are almost the same very very close and I'm talking about you have to go about seven uh like I would say 120 130 so like 70 or 80 miles per hour uh and it does get to the point where the air just wants to come through now, if you turn it off the air doesn't keep coming in constantly, but if you turn on the fan wherever the valve is that lets the outside air in or the fresh air actually lets that air in, I don't know which other way way to put it, but it gets too loud, it gets to the point where I honestly can't point the vents at myself because there's no setting low enough for it to be comfortable, so I tell them to blow air to that you still have ambient air and you have that fresh air feeling, but it's hectic like it's getting serious and the second point I have is number five. on my list because of the way the windshield is shaped and everything is here, uh, because everything is so flat that you get a horrible, horrible spray pattern from the wipers when you're cleaning the windshield on the road and because of the shape of the Jeep and everything as it is, you have a lot of bugs, you catch bugs like crazy in this thing and trying to remove them when you're going fast sucks because your wipers will always smear before the real fluid can get there. to the place where you need it, especially when you're on the road so you can see outside, the pattern is not terrible, you can spray up to here when you're sitting here straight and you're not driving now when you're driving at high speed, you'll probably get up to here and yeah, that's not fun.
Now I have a solution for this one too, but you can see it doesn't actually reach much of the windshield. Now I'm sure I can aim. Those and I can change that, but it doesn't change the fact that they are more than 12 inches from the windshield and when you're moving at that kind of speed it just doesn't have the speed to travel up and hit the entire windshield, even from where it is. now without aiming it doesn't have the right spray pattern to hit the entire windshield so now imagine you have some bug that you just splashed on your windshield and you're trying to clean it off good luck basically you're just smearing everything until you get there to a gas station and you can wash it.Now I have a remedy for that too, but stay tuned at the end of the video and I'll tell you exactly what the solution is for. that and I will apply that solution to my vehicle if you want to see it in the future so jump there if you are new here hit the subscribe button because I do tons of modifications on these.vehicles I have two different Jeeps right now I have my 2001 TJ and my

2022

Gladiator Rubicon.
The off-roaders, we're both doing mods on both and we're constantly making updates so if you guys definitely want to see more, jump in there, hit the subscribe button, but let's go out and continue our list and get to number six . Now, this one refers to the reversing camera and it would be nice to show you this in the dark and I. I'll try to insert a clip here right now, but basically what happens is when you use this at night, backwards, I mean, these license plate lights are super bright, they're very bright and basically what happens is they bounce around. of your license plate, which is reflective and reflects this whole area like in the white light zone, like it's basically like looking at the sun, so you can still see, but it really cuts off your range of vision, so from here down it's all. only white area and then you can see the rest, it's not terrible but they honestly blind your reversing camera at night, it's crazy how bad it gets and I'll take a photo so you can see for yourself.
It's crazy and yeah, at the end I have a solution for that too, so stay tuned and I'll show you that solution too, but that's something you should have thought about, you should have done. cut them off or turn them off when this is on, but I guess they didn't think about that, maybe they didn't run into that problem when they were testing, however, it's horrible and now I'm blind and we move on to Number Seven, okay, so if you have the vehicle is locked, there is no locking gas cap, you can honestly just walk up to someone's vehicle and pee in their tank, yeah, no, no, really, but I really like it, honestly, uh, you shouldn't be able to just be. able to do that, even with the Jeep Wranglers, they have the same thing, but back there you just twist it and it opens.
They now have a lock on some of the newer Wranglers and there is a release mechanism on the back when the battery runs out. dies, obviously this doesn't happen, as you can see the vehicle is locked even when I unlock it, there is no release mechanism down here next to my seat, there is no release mechanism here in the front, there is nothing that really do something about the gas cap, there should be, but No, that's one of my complaints. One of the things I don't like. I'm really not afraid of people putting junk in my gas tank.
That's something I said at the beginning just for emphasis, but it's something. you may worry if you live in a secluded place or you live in a rural area where you are not near your vehicle or your vehicle is somewhere where people can get to it and not be seen, people steal gas and people steal everything kinds of things and people do all kinds of complicated things, so, yeah, it would be nice to have that peace of mind. I know I can probably go out and put on like a real lockable cap, like the real cap, but that's something I honestly think I shouldn't have to do it should be the standard of man but it is what it is at this point we have to get one we have to get one and number eight has to do with this guy right here is the auto shut off and start button.
What it does if you're not familiar is basically turns off the auto start/stop button, which is what stops the engine when you stop and restarts it when you release the brake or press the button. Clutch if you have a manual, not a manual, so basically if you press this button, it will deactivate that system and your vehicle will continue to run and continue driving like a normal vehicle. If it stops, it will remain idle for hours or whatever. you want and you never have the engine off, however this has no memory, you basically have to reset it every time, you have to press it every time you get in and start the vehicle even if you get out. and you get gas and you had it pressed you have to press it again now I get it it's no big deal but most of the time you don't remember you don't even have to press this and it's quite annoying when you come to a stop and the vehicle stops turn off isn't a big deal, I get it, but for people like me who just don't want to use that system and don't appreciate it, I'd rather Sorry, guys I knocked out. my hand would prefer this to have a memory so that every time I press it I don't have to worry about it and it stays on or off and basically you don't need to have that system on, now there are workarounds.
There are actually a few different solutions. You can go under the hood and if you open the hood, you'll have two pins here that you'll basically see activate when you open the hood. One of those appear that I don't remember. which if you just disconnect one of those that will disconnect your start stop system if you remove the auxiliary battery that will also disable your start stop system. There's another way that I'll mention in a second to disable that and keep it as a memory function where you can still have it on or off, where those two you won't be able to use if you disable it using the plug, it won't work if you disable it using your auxiliary battery.
It also won't work if you do it with the third option that I'll mention in a second. You will still be able to use that button, but each time you press it it will remain until you press it no matter how you set it. I'll say it again no matter how many times you start your vehicle and now we move on to number nine and that has to do with the seats, honestly I love the seats. I feel like they are fantastic seats. I bought the cloth seats just because that's what I prefer. I love my seats, they are very comfortable, however I wish they had power adjustment.
I understand that yes, this is a vehicle without a roof. You can remove the roof. Everything here is made to be waterproof and to some extent that is still possible. to add power to the seats because you still have harnesses underneath, you still have cables underneath, you still have power to the seat belt buckles because it still knows when you connect and disconnect your seat, your seat belt, sorry. Believe me, you still have wires and things running around the floor, so the fact that you can get it wet and get water in it and this and that is not an excuse for not having a power seat, the new Broncos have a power seat. and they are built like this the doors come off the roof comes off it gets wet I honestly think that's something they should have included but unfortunately they didn't maybe they will in the future but I really don't I see that happening I think This is something Jeep will always keep on their Wranglers and Gladiators for whatever reason, it is what it is, but the last thing I'm going to mention is this rear window that I love right now. having the rear window, the rear window is great, but I honestly think they should have made it electric and you guys will probably also mention oh but the roof falls off, yes I know the roof falls off.
I also have a Wrangler at home, the roof. it comes out and if you can see what that is, oh that's a wire, well yeah, because you have a defroster, so if you have a defroster in the back like I do, it's going to have a wire, so you're still going to have a wire. and a harness that goes to the back and on the Wranglers you still have a wire and a harness that goes to the back because you still have the wipers and you actually have a sprayer, so trust me, they can put it there if they want the wipers to work.
The windshield wipers are electric on a Wrangler, so why couldn't they make this window on the Gladiator electric? This panel is also what it is like I said I'm being nitpicky these are all first world problems they're all things you can still live with and they don't really bother me that much like I said I still love this car. Like I said, I still love this vehicle, this was my dream vehicle and I am super happy with it. I have no complaints. Honestly, I can't wait to keep making memories, keep making mods, and keep driving it, but I thought I'd make this video for everyone.
Whether you're new to Jeep World and thinking about purchasing one or just interested in seeing what it's like to live with. Okay, I came here for a second to give myself a break, but what was the first thing I was talking about? that we can use to solve our problems and the first problem that I think I can solve or know I can solve is the windshield spray problem and no, we will not aim for the actual sprayers, but we will get new windshield wipers and it's not just the blade, They make a high performance wiper for Jeep and yes I know how that sounds, it is a Mopar part, they are not too expensive.
I think they cost around 150 dollars and you get an extra blade because they are a custom blade, they have 12 laser cut holes along the actual blade to allow the fluid to travel instead of from the sprayers, now it travels through the wiper real and I've seen them in action on a few different videos on YouTube and I'm very intrigued to try them myself and for the cost I think we can definitely do it and I think we can definitely install them and see if they're any good and if they're not it's not a great installation you can do.
Always bring them back up, but I think it's something I'll add soon, so if you want to see it, definitely watch that video, it'll be out soon, but I definitely think that'll help our situation. at least and to go off road, especially because I also have Winters here where I live in Canada and I will have a lot of salt on the road, which will also help with that if you've never driven behind cars that have uh spraying salt on them is crazy, you're using the wipers and the sprayer every two or three minutes just because they're getting covered in white crap, so yeah, the next thing I know I can fix is the triple chunk on the back rear, uh White as white, uh, What else can we fix and the auto start and stop memory?
So what am I talking about those three items that you can fix? I'm sure you can do a lot more with the Taser JL and Taser JL as well. Basically, uh, or the Taser mini, it's basically the same thing, it's just two different versions, it allows you to do a bunch of different things that basically jailbreak, if you know what it was like to jailbreak your iPhone back in the day when it jailbreaks to your iPhone. Jeep allows you to do tons of different things. You can set different parameters. You can change the way things act.
You can do a light show. You can change the way tons of different things you can. You can remove the triple horn. You can do it. so that when you put it in reverse, those license plate lights go off. You can also have it so that when you turn on your turn signal you have the backup camera just so you have an extra view of what's behind you. and you can do all kinds of different cool things as well as off-road stuff because I love taking my Jeep off-road so you can also keep the auto brake on so it holds the brake so it's like a two two.
When steering with your foot, it will hold the brakes while you crawl, so the moment you take your foot off the accelerator, it will automatically lock it and not allow you to roll forward or backward and it will not slide off the obstacle, which It's great when you're climbing over rocks and I know it does a lot more. This is not a sponsored video, but I will definitely get one of those in the future and let you know exactly what you can do with them, but there's a ton and a ton of things, uh, you can even set up a uh, what's the word for This, what they use, is called line lock, where you basically lock the two front wheels, leave the rear wheels free and you can basically do a burnout. just like in all the muscle cars like The Challengers and Hellcats and all that, but that's enough, that will come in a future video.
I think that's all for the things I can fix. I'll try to fix a few more things as I go and I'll update you if I find a solution and if you guys have a solution for any of my other line items definitely let me know and I'll be happy to test them well guys I think that's About to cover it for today's video, if you have any other questions you want to ask or if there's anything I missed that you want from your experience with your Wrangler Gladiator, let me know and hopefully we'll see you around. guys in the next one, but like I said, if you're new here, skip down, hit the subscribe button, hit the like button, it helps me a lot and I hope to see you guys in the next one, so until then guys. safe out there peace foreigner
