I had a moment where I had to wonder: Oh, this is like one of my favorite girl groups and I didn't realize that, I guess, I just think, because I've loved every single one of their releases over the last few years.

I guess I just didn't realize how much time has passed and how many of their title songs are on my infinite playlist and how many of their B-sides are on my infinite playlist, I mean if we're talking about b-sides their previous album, their studio albums, the b-sides were all amazing, probably some of the best refreshing b-sides I've heard in a long time, and sneakers are very refreshing too, it's the kind of weird song I would have heard . from one of the b-sides of uh itsy like swiping, you know, I love swiping, I don't know where the people are, I don't know where some people stand, swiping, I know some people don't like it, some people love it, I love it.

I'm obsessed with this shot, it's amazing, it's so fun, it's so unique and it's a little silly but they make it work and they actually make it a little difficult and I think they do exactly that here with sneakers but it's something so unexpected for them to release a title track, it's so good and it's also a very full and rich pre-chorus, that pre-chorus is so cool and wow, I've been going through a tear of

s and every reaction lately. It's made me say, "Oh my God," my faith in music production is being restored. Just listening to these refreshing, rich and complete summer songs has been a lot of fun and that's something to keep in mind too.

The sneakers are coming out in the summer, so technically this is a summer song, although it's not necessarily marketed as a typical summer song, but it's just as refreshing, it's fun, you know, it's kind of tapping into something childish. from childhood with the whole concept of sneakers, it is also very enriching with what the lyrics say. about and with what the sneakers do for them and I think it creates a very interesting position in the music video where it then creates these very cool visuals, uh, visuals, I guess I don't know the contrast, oh, I didn't even notice. that if you look wow, she has chanuk and leah has like shin guards, but they are like old school type shin guards, I love that they are heavy because they are much more European.

In the setting, they designed these dresses to have a little bit of that kind of European dress influence, but it also has an evening, you know, kind of an old medieval evening with armor and I like the comparisons that that ultimately creates. instance. You even know the song, although the song doesn't make those comparisons because of what the sneakers are about and because they put that in the music video, now they say that these sneakers are also like my um, they're like my armor, you know, and the way they express that in the music video is super cool and super fun let's take a look at the most repeated section oh it's leah's section oh go get it girl you deserve it omg uh just good deserved I'll be honest when she first raised her fingers I thought they were middle fingers and my mind immediately went to you she's a k-pop I don't know she didn't and I thought you're probably right brained but That's what I saw in the second one. time but I love this oh wait interesting wait wait are they trying to say that Yeji is the queen and offering her these slippers?

Oh, that's so clever, that little story they made up, I don't know. what's supposed to be the whole story, but that little story they made up is amazing, but actually you know what we need to watch the video again because now that we're looking at this shot of Eugen, I realize there's a lot of crazy shots. . I'm here because this music video and the editing style has a lot of personality and I really just want to congratulate both the editors and the director on this music video, they just gave it a lot of extra oomph, yeah, yeah, let's go like me.

Sorry, yeah, yeah, that's sick, that's a dope shot, it starts with a closeup of Eugene doing everything like he's so cool, I'm looking down while holding my hat pose and we're just going, oh, the revelation of that appearance. like a portrait, okay, first of all, that base is so cool, it's so cool mixed with it, what was that little wow, wow, the way they snuck that shot in? I say this as someone who has probably spent too much time. behind a computer, especially editing, editing is really what you do with it, editing can be terrible, but technically you can make any editing project fun, as long as you're willing to make it fun, uh, that you might know that occasionally collide. with a director who might want you to do something else, but you know I worked a lot of unpleasant jobs as an editor and I made it fun by saying, you know what I'm going to do, you know what, I hate this job, I hate this video.

I'm going to survive this experience of this boring editing job by overdoing it with this video. I'm going to work a lot on this video. I'll like to put up these little sneaky edits. here, I'm going to put this here and then I realized that it made me a better editor, but it also made editing a lot of fun, but there are rare times when a project comes up and the project inspires you to do it too. fun and almost demands a level of fun like I personally think the sneakers have like very wasn't super hot in crazy it's definitely one of my least favorite itsy main songs and I'm a pretty vehement supporter and supporter. are these main songs, but uh crazy wasn't completely my vibe although I really like sneakers, I think they might be my favorite thing they've come out of them.

I'm not saying it's the best thing they've put out, but I think for me, personally, it could literally be my favorite. It really hits everything at full speed. The song, I mean, has just the right amount of flair that I really like in music and really this song really allows you, uh, Eugene, to shine even. more so they really sneak into that kind of tomboyish vibe, so I really like that, but it's this song in general, it's very emotional, it's very inspiring, I mean, that's what I also like about itsy, is that I think they're an incredibly inspiring group because literally every major song they have lyrics in is always about self-empowerment and I thought, wow, that's going to get old real quick, it's going to get boring real quick and here we are, with a a million returns later and I love it, I love it.

It's because the lyrics are also very inspiring, they're fantastic, I really appreciate the creativity that was involved, I don't know where this tangent came from so let's move on now, oh it was that, oh wait it was that right edit and then that. that zoom in on her is now her, she says and then her dun dun ad lib. I'm so glad there are more music videos filming scenes for improvisations. A lot of music videos used to not do that, which is totally fine, I get it. but I think it really adds a kind of intelligence and charm and real personality to your music videos if you do that and oh my gosh, just from the shot of the sneakers and then immediately connecting with Yeji's little zoom, right there, smart, that's not my fault but that fusion shot right there just his head a slight turn just look I'm talking about these shots these shots I'm telling you the director of this video I love you platonically artistically I love you this is literally a you?

Realize how meta this shot is, this shot looks like a painting, how beautiful it is, I mean just from the framing of having Lugian in the lower thirds with Lea in the background it's already beautiful, but Leah is already being a real life painting, seriously. actually he pretends to be a real life painting and then paints it like a painting, but the shot looks like a painting, it's a triple painting in one shot, this is the most amazing shot in k-pop history. I'm being hyperbolic with that last statement, but still this is an incredible shot. I just want a coffee with this director.

Because this is a beautiful video. wow, she was sitting in that shadow layer, that was a real shot, leah is walking, she has and you know what, now we're at nasa, okay, but I love it, like she gets it, you know, no matter what profession be. That kind of thing like your sneakers are your uniform, your personal uniform, right, uh, but I feel like the transition was very strange and out of place and yet it works because the music video is already established with its editing. your shots like that zoom in already established that we are a bit of a silly video, but we may be a silly video, but it will be very high quality and it will be a really amazing video and I think they do a great job of that. something I noticed they're also here in mission control, but it's kind of a retro throwback because if you look at how everyone is dressed in the background, you have a typewriter right here, I think they're trying. to emulate the old jumpsuits, uh, that old green military look, uh, but that's also why they're filming this video with this crop right here, so they changed the framing of this video just a little bit and that was also very The shots at the smart feet, very well made, they're amazing, oh that guitar, there's something about this song that feels very modern, very modern and modern, and it also feels strangely childish in a good way, like it feels like it doesn't HE. like the target demo audience for this is perfectly both teenagers and kids, but I like this part here, like that, there, like in the really high falsetto that she's singing.

That's my favorite video, I was going to say my favorite video, but Mafia in the Morning still exists, so I think in terms of a freshness factor, Mafia in the Morning always holds a very special place in my heart, but as a director and filmmaker, I'm just a general fan and I'm interested in the sneaker video, um, and this is also something that I'm noticing with itsy and that I really appreciate about jyp is that they are a group where their music videos are notable and they're flashy and occasionally uh creatively satisfying, just like straight kids, so I'm wondering if it's a very jyp thing, but you know, sneakers as a music video are really fun and exciting, especially to watch as a self-made filmmaker because you know, um, they're uh, I always find these music videos interesting, they always try to make interesting, almost movie-like transitions and yet they're still a little bit quirky like a music video, but I remember it really started. with itsy's icy music video it's a really fun music video and I even made a video about why that video was so good but that's what the sneakers feel like and especially with all the new technology available these days oh my gosh .
