Street sweeper drives off I-10 overpass, kills child and woman

street
sweeper
near 91st Avenue is blocking the left. Westbound lanes of the 101. If you're watching that scene live, you can see that the accident investigators are there now taking pictures and documenting everything you can make out, that police tape on all those lanes of the highway. We have learned that two people have died as a result of that accident, one was awoman
in her 20s and the other achild
who was six or seven years old.We were also told that the
woman
driving thesweeper
is alive but has serious injuries, of course we are keeping an eye on that this morning, thanks for joining us today in AZ. Please note this is in West Valley, near Loop 101 which is being rerouted. to The Loop 101 North is also just a reminder, if you are heading back to Loop 101 South, this is in the West Valley, they will detour you to I-10 westbound to avoid the multi-vehicle collision that occurred.This morning, well, let's get to the weekend closings, as always, there are quite a few, but this is the big one. This is I-10 heading east. This closure begins at 10 o'clock tonight and lasts until four in the morning on Monday. It is between Route 51 and U.S. 60 and all on- and off-ramps between 51st and U.S. 60 will also be closed, let's get to next weekend's closing for you. I don't even know what's coming next, well. here we go and well, we'll take it to the East Valley. This is State Route 24 eastbound between Santan 202 and Ellsworth. This begins at five in the morning and lasts until five in the afternoon on Saturday.
