Hermitcraft 10: Episode 11 - GOLD FARMING

11. I need leather because my item frame store is sold out. It's the most successful shop I've ever made in my entire time in

hermitcraft

, but the thing is, harvesting leather manually is incredibly boring and just like cows, I don't really like killing them, so instead I'll kill thousands of piglins. zombies to collect their remains and then I will try to sell them to non-zombified piglins in the hopes that they will give me a hide that definitely looks like the least cruel option. The first thing I have to do is collect resources and this was actually a pretty herculean resource gathering mission.

You see, I need to build a

gold

farm, that's essentially what I'm doing to get started and that takes a lot. of resources, the design itself is pretty simple, we'll get to that in a moment, it requires a lot of resources, but they're not actually resources that I have lying around because of the way I'm currently set up. I don't have tons of pre-made Redstone supplies, I definitely don't have a lot of magma blocks and all this darkness, so I had to collect everything for this farm. I basically had nothing, so it took me over 5 hours, which is, not what I expected at all.

I thought the long resource gathering missions were over in the previous

episode

when I did a 12 hour resource gathering mission, but here I am doing another 5 hours and to top it all off there's a resource that I didn't actually do. I managed to get into this resource gathering quest because it's not really a resource I've ever had to collect and I'm not sure how to do it and I think it'll be fun to find out, so like 5 years after they were introduced. I'm going to go hunt the XS turtle. Oh, the cutting-edge content I post on this channel seriously.

When the turtles were added to the game. I imagine it was the aquatic update, meaning

season 6, February 14, 2018, over 6 years ago, was added. the turtle is closer to the start of my YouTube channel than it is to this day and I have never interacted with one. farm, this is the design I'm going to look for, it's on the lower roof, it's designed by Nom.

I'll put a link in the description, there was a brief moment where I considered designing. my own gold farm, but this design is so ridiculously good, it's so good, anything I made would pale in comparison, everyone would laugh at me for it, I mean, look, I wouldn't think of doing this, I wouldn't do it. Think about putting glass in here. I wouldn't think of putting rope here. You think I'd be using a whetstone. I had to look up the recipe on how to make a whetstone. At least this all makes sense to my weak brain and I will actually do it.

We will be modifying this lower area to make use of the autoc Crafters, but that will come a little later, the first thing is to build this in the hermit Craft Server. Well I guess first things first, the first thing we need is to find a location okay, actually it wasn't too difficult I flew in another a bit I found a big pool of lava I wrote down the coordinates and I got to the roof and luckily there is nothing Up here my coordinates are: 317 byo 617 if I ever lose this farm, please remind me of that in the comments section right now, we're going to build this and I'm going to say something pretty bold here.

I think this could be the perfect Minecraft project. It's a huge statement. Let me explain myself first. It's a big thing to build takes about three to six hours, which is decently big but it's small enough that you can build it in a single session, like, I gathered all the resources for this and then built it all. a single day which is completely doable if you're focused enough, but it's also the perfect combination of complexity and simplicity, so at the bottom you've got some Redstone gadgets and some Redstone circuits that you have to think about a little bit.

Be aware of where you are placing your repeaters and your Redstone and everything is changing so you can't fall into a pattern, which is good and keeps things fresh, but when you actually start working on the build itself then everything starts to fall apart. repeat yourself and you can go into that autopilot mode, you can turn your brain off a little bit and you can learn the patterns and just turn it off and build it and the good thing is it's really satisfying. Watching it come to life as you build it, as you start to add layers you start to see that the zombified piglins are starting to appear in the layers below you, you can see them fall to the bottom, you can actually see the farm starting to work which makes it ridiculously satisfying and then the end result looks super cool.

I mean, this has been so much fun. Wait, I just heard a ghost, but there are still a few things to do, namely the car creation systems in which we have the car creator. Hermitcraft season 10 which is very exciting and this autoc craftsman is simply transforming the gold nuggets into gold bars so it's a really simple system which means I don't have to worry about doing that and I can immediately take the drops of this and put them. directly to a Barter Farm which is great, meaning I never have to kill a cow for leather again and I can automatically craft item frames and get lots of other fancy resources.

Bing Farm is coming soon but there is also another element of this that I want to have, obviously I also have the gold iron permissions so I want to be able to store gold so I can sell it and I want to convert that gold into gold blocks so I need to be able to to close half of my storage system, prevent that gold from entering the barter farm and then it has to go ahead and enter a system that will convert it into gold blocks automatically and I guess a setup like this should work. let's see if we're getting any weirdness so we've got our gold bars and yeah, I mean it looks like it's crafting blocks.

This seems to be pretty consistent. I don't see any way this could mess it up. everything seems to be working. I'm wondering if there's a way to get rid of the piston so it doesn't make noise, but it doesn't really fire that often so I don't think it's a big deal, so now let's get back to it. the hcraft server and take a look at our farm. I've set up this temporary AFK rig here, which is right at the top of the build limit and as you can see, that means we get absolutely tons of piglin spawning. yes they are absolutely into this, now this farm is designed to be used with a plunder sword and you basically stand at the bottom, you can barely see it, right at the fork there you stand with a plunder sword and kill to all the piglins, which will give you a lot more drops, but since I haven't destroyed any of the nethers under the nether roof yet, it's very inefficient for me to stay there because basically all the piglins are just spawning in the nether, so very I'm temporarily standing here and to be honest, if I'm going to be honest with you, just being up here would probably give me more gold than I'll ever need, anyway, going to the bottom for our storage system, this is the part where We need to work, so this is where our little autocrafters are going to go.

Okay, if I think about this, we need two open bullion slots and then we need, I think six. or open seven for gold nuggets when we use looting here, so that's 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 okay, so this half of the type of items will be dedicated to piglin bartering, yes, I will. I'll do the piglin barter. side first and then beyond this point and then we'll have another nine Hoppers with item sorters and things like that and that will be purely for gold storage yeah okay so we need to do some extensions here and unfortunately this means I'm going I'm going to need a little more resources Gathering I need a bunch of comparators I need some repeaters I need some Hoppers and of course I need all the autoc craftsmen and stuff at some point in the near future I really want to get it myself Just with the Shuler boxes organized, I you know when you get that Ender Chest of Shuler full, that has everything you need at all times, like 90% of your resources are on hand, that's what I aspire to, but I'm very very far from that right now alone collect some nether quartz.

Hopefully this should be the last time I have to collect Nether Quartz and then I need to collect some Mushroom Lights and I hope this is the last time I have to collect Mushroom Lights, not for any specific farm or anything I'm building. .
