Mar 19, 2024
Design just loving this moment can't always stay here forever Hello crafty friends. My name is Misty. Welcome to gleespin designs. Today I've rounded up 16 of my favorite

farmhouse

DIY projects that I've done that you have to try in

2023

. Let's get crafting for this DIY. I used two of the canvases from Dollar Tree. I think this is the 8x10 size. The size doesn't really matter, it just depends on how big you would like your business to be using one of Dollar Tree's inline skates. And you guys, I love these skates from Dollar Tree, they are very useful, so definitely grab one of these if you see them, use the skate and run the staples all the way through the frame and then just remove the canvas from the frame. foreigner, you will do this with both canvases, removing the canvas and leaving the frame, then I take my Rust-Oleum white chalk paint and follow with a heavy dry brushing technique that covers the frame but leaves a little of the original color peeking through.

Over and over again, you will do this with both canvas frames once you have both canvas frames painted. I'm going to use some beads I bought on Amazon. I'll link them below in the description box, they actually come. with six different sizes and for a great price using a little Apple Barrel paint and a little water. I'm just making a faux smudge and I'm going to add some of these beads into a bag. This is how I paint or dye my beads if I make a lot of them and I just put them directly in a bag and pour the dye or paint directly into the bag and do them a little at a time.

More Interesting Facts About,

16 dollar tree farmhouse home decor diy s to try in 2023...

You always want to do just a little bit and add more if necessary. Just move the beads around inside the bag until they are completely covered, then you can just pour them onto a paper towel or whatever you like and see how beautiful those dyed beads are. The reason I dyed these beads is because I love them. to match the color of the canvas frame peeking through my white chalk paint so again I mix those beads right into that faux stain and I love how they turned out you can let them dry overnight or just do whatever you want I made and use a heat gun or even a hair dryer to dry them in just a few minutes.

You want to make sure the beads are completely dry before you start gluing them to the frame. I only used my hot glue gun because I have hot Gorilla Glue. glue sticks in my glue gun and those glue sticks work absolutely amazing. You've probably heard me talk about them before. I'll link them Below in the description box, you can use E6000 or even wood glue if you want, but for me this. works perfect, glue enough wooden beads to completely surround the canvas frame and you want to make sure the holes are vertical so you don't see them when you place the second frame on top now that I have my wooden beads completely surrounding the frame. canvas frame.

I'm going in with some Rust-Oleum white chalk paint and a chibi brush and I'm just doing some heavy dry brushing over all of the wooden beads, going all the way across the canvas again, covering them just enough to where they're covered, but just a little bit. A little bit of that color shows through in what we dyed next. I just use my hot glue gun again and add a little bit of hot glue on all the little wooden beads so I can place the second canvas on top when adding the second canvas on top. the wooden beads you want to make sure you press down on both sides in the center to make sure the wooden beads and the canvas frame are touching and sticking to the bottom of the tray.
I'm going to use these giants. craft sticks that you can get at Walmart or there are some on Amazon as well. I'll have a link for those below. Line up enough craft sticks to cover the bottom of the tray and then simply trace the hanging sides so you can cut them out and then you will have perfect pieces to cover the bottom of the tray. These giant craft sticks actually cut very easily with just a simple pair of scissors and you want to make sure that when you cut them you cut them all to the same length using the same faux dye that I made earlier for the wooden beads.
I'm going to go ahead and stain all of these wood pieces as well and all you have to do is paint them directly, you know I love this. dye technique, it literally dries in just a few minutes, it doesn't smell bad and you can really do any color you want. If you want a purple dye, just add a little purple paint to some water and you will have a purple dye once they are all set and dry. I grab another chippy brush and that Australium white chalk paint again and also do another hard dry brushing on all those wood pieces.
Once all of those pieces are stained, painted, and dry, you'll turn the canvas over and start gluing with hot glue. those pieces right at the bottom of the canvas to make your bottom reach your tray, like I said you can make this tray two different ways, so this is how the first way turned out. I think this is very pretty and I had to show this tray to both of them. ways because I couldn't figure out which way I liked it better, if it was sitting or if it was raised, so here is the unraised tray and I think it turned out very cute, but if you want your tray to be raised, it's super, super simple, just grab a glass candle holder from Dollar Tree, paint it white, and then simply hot glue it to the bottom of the tray.
If you are going to use the raised tray, I suggest painting the bottom of the tray as well and that is how you create this adorable raised tray. It turns out that I absolutely love the way this tray turned out and I love that you can make it two different ways and both ways turn out beautifully and like I said, you can also make them in several different sizes depending on the size of the canvas you want. To use, you will need one of these galvanized houses from the Dollar Tree that has a hole in the center using another piece of Frog tape.
I place it as close as I can to the bottom next to the wooden support that covers the metal house so that I can paint the underside where that wood is with my Rust-Oleum white chalk paint. I want to create more roof on this house so I'm going to use these bamboo poles which you've probably seen me use many times on my channel, they are very useful again, they are in my Amazon store and I will definitely have a link in the description box . I painted some of those bamboo sticks with my black chalk paint and then you can also remove the painter's tape on the bottom.
Once the bottom of your house is dry, I'll take those black bamboo sticks and place them on top where the roof is and use my pencil to mark where I need to cut. the bamboo stick pulls out the first piece, I hold it in place making sure it's the size I need and then I just use the bamboo stick and place it on the other side and mark that side as well so I can cut it and Once they're cut, You can go ahead and simply hot glue them into place on the top of the house forming the roof for the hole in the center of the house.
I'm going to use these wooden planks from the Dollar Tree. they come in a pack of six again these are other things that are very useful and I just used a box cutter and cut it to the size I needed and painted it with my white chalk paint like I said in the description box. and in the title No Cricket no chocolate tour these are not chocolate or I promise they are literally a fraction of the price of chocolate ore and better yet they are even on Amazon and I will have a link below for these and you will pretty much understand all of this for the price of a chocolate or transfer, so it's an amazing deal and they work just as good as chocolate.
I'm going to use these little farm animals and I'm going to use the chicken and as you can, Look, there's the brand, it's the paint transfer and those are paints with an S, so that's the brand, if you want to check them out on Amazon and again I will have a link below in the description box for you to do so. just take my scissors and cut the chick and you can cut them if you want. You can see the little lines of pieces where you can cut them so you can use them as one or cut them if you want too.
So I take my chalk paste again, you can also use chalk paint and I just complete the transfer and look how cute that chicken turned out, then I just use my hot glue gun and add a little bit of hot glue around that circle on the back . from the house and then just place your chick right in the center at Dollar Tree, they have several different items with this little wreath and every time I DIY something like this I always put it away if I'm not using it. For another project and these little wreaths come off very, very easy, so you'll definitely want to save something like that if you find it using that little wreath and some berries from Dollar Tree.
I think these came out in the fall, but they still do it. I have them in stores and it's actually May 2nd so they still have them available and I just take it and just wrap it around the wreath trying to make sure it has those little berries facing outwards. Simply just use my hot glue gun, add some hot glue directly to the wreath and then place it on the house so the chicken is in the center. Here I am looking at the house thinking of course it needs something extra, so I grab a craft stick. and I paint it black with my black chalk paint and once I paint it black, I cut the top off and I'm trying to create kind of a chimney, so once I cut that top off I add another little bit of black chalk.
I painted it so you can't see the wood from where I cut it and then I just cut it out and hot glued it to the back of your house and then of course I thought the wreath needed something extra so I took some the Dollar Tree twine this is obviously the black and white twine this is one of their new twine that they have now we used it before again I love this twine and all I'm going to do is wrap it around some of my fingers the further you spread fingers again, the bigger your bow will be, like a tassel, so I'm just making a very small little bow, I guess you could say, and after wrapping it around a few times, I take another piece of yarn. and I just tie it in the center creating that bow.
I make sure that the piece that I'm tying in the center is long enough so that when I cut it out I can use those little bits as the tails of the bow and now you have a nice, simple bow of thread, then all you have to do is Simply glue the bow directly to your wreath and this DIY will be ready and this is how this super cute little house turned out. I love making simple, small, easy DIYs and this is one that worked. so cute and again, like I said before, it looks absolutely adorable on that tray and would look just as adorable anywhere else in your

home

.
For this DIY, you will need more of those wooden planks from Dollar Tree that we used in the previous DIY and All you are going to do is use a utility knife to cut one of them in half and you will also use two full ones, so you will have four pieces in total, too long and too short. I took my sanding block and just go ahead and sand those smaller pieces making sure there are no jagged or sharp edges and then along with the rest of the other DIYs I use that Rust-Oleum white chalk paint again and paint all four pieces of wood and you want to make sure the ends are the same size too once they are all painted and dry.
I use my glue gun and add a little glue to one of the longer pieces and then glue one of the shorter pieces to the side. I do exactly the same. I sew on the other side of the long piece of wood and simply place one of those shorter pieces right at the end, then place the second long piece on the other side of the short pieces creating a box for the bottom of the box. Just like I did with the tray, I'm going to use these giant craft sticks again, they can be found at Walmart or Amazon.
I will have a link in the description box, place some of the craft sticks down, place the box right on top and then trace the sides so you can cut them again just like we did with the tray once they are all cut. I used my hot glue gun and just glue them directly to the bottom of the box once you're done. Once the box is ready, you can go in with the Rust-Oleum white chalk paint just like you did on the outside and paint the inside of the box as well using the bamboo sticks I bought on Amazon.
I told you these things are useful. So much so I'm going to take some of those and paint them black with my black chalk paint. Thanks, once the black bamboo sticks are dry I just take them and hold them against the sides of the box so I can know where I need to cut them and I just mark it with a pencil and cut enough to do this on both sides of the box. box, which will be eight pieces in total for the longest ones and four shorter ones once they are all cut. you will simply hot glue them to the side of your box creating a square andagain you will do the exact same thing on the other side of the box to create the side of the X.
I want to make sure it's centered, so I place the first piece without gluing it. which I know when I basically cut it out it's going to be nice and even and where I need it to be for the second piece I didn't want it to overlap so I just cut it in the center so it's an X shape. no overlapping foreign pieces just keep playing with your pieces and making sure they fit before gluing them together and I didn't like how after cutting them you could see the wood of the normal bamboo stick pieces so I did that.
Just paint the ends with my black chalk paint and then all you have to do is glue all those little pieces in place and then you'll do the exact same thing. On the other side of the box, pour some details on the front of the box. box. I took some of the gold push pins from Dollar Tree and placed them directly on a small mini Django block or rotating tower block so they wouldn't move and simply painted them with my black chalk paint. I tried pushing them right into the wood and they went in but they stuck out a little bit on the other side and I didn't like that very much so I took some pruning shears from Dollar Tree and cut the bug part off like the nail and then just I added some hot glue and placed it on the box that way, I added one of the push pins to each of the four corners of the box and then used another one.
New item from Dollar Tree, which are these rub-on transfers that are

farmhouse

style. I love them. I think they are so pretty, the fresh flowers, seeds, stems and flowers are so pretty, so all I did was cut them to the size I needed. and then I'm going to transfer it directly to the front of my box when I do these rub transfers. I think it's best to peel them off as you go so that if something comes off you can just put it back on. Go back down and then place it in place, then all you have to do is add any type of flowers or whatever you want to put in your box and that's how this super cute DIY turned out.
Thanks for this DIY, you'll need one of these really big new glass blanks from Dollar Tree and I think they're in the Mother's Day section so painting glass can be a little tricky so I'll grab some of my paint of Rust-Oleum white chalk and then I'm going to add a little bit of baking soda in a one to one ratio or just a little bit less baking soda, that's how I like it and then you want to mix it completely until there are no lumps left and this gives you a much better result. coverage and you'll definitely notice it if you've tried this technique and yes doing this technique will give you some texture but I want a lot of texture so I'm going to take some of this Dollar Tree sand and add a little bit of that to the pint too and really The amount of sand depends on the type of texture you want and the thickness you want, just like with baking soda, you want to mix it completely until there are no lumps left and you have this. absolutely beautiful textured paint, normally when I do the paint and baking soda technique without sanding for texture I apply it with a sponge, well you can't necessarily do that with this type of mixture with sand because the sand just wants to stick on the sponge, so I threw this one aside and started hitting it directly on the vase with my brush and it worked absolutely perfect and it was actually very satisfying to do as well when applying this to the foundation.
I made sure to cover the entire outside of the vase as well as the top and also a little bit down the inside. It didn't cover the entire interior. I only painted a few inches down once you have the vase completely covered, let it dry completely. and they will have this absolutely stunning, textured look. I don't know about you, but I love this textured look. The texture is super trendy right now and it turned out absolutely perfect again. You'll want to make sure your primer is completely dry before moving on to the next step, which is to simply grab some painter's tape.
Actually, I think it's the Frog brand of tape. I'll link it below in the description box. I prefer to use this Frog tape compared to the blue tape because I feel it adheres better to my projects and also doesn't strip as much paint off the projects as regular blue painter's tape does. As you can see, I took some of that frog ribbon and placed it around the vase. a quarter of the way up and then I use that sponge that I tried to use earlier to apply black chalk paint under that paint line and under that line where the painter's tape is.
I want this to be pretty solid like it's not like that. I really want some of that white to show through, so keep sponging in the black paint until the bottom is completely covered and then once you've completely filled in that bottom, you want to remove the Frog Tape before you paint to dry completely because you're going to take your little sponge and you're going to start scrubbing again, but you're going to do it like a dry brushing technique, but it's a dry sponge technique, so you're just going to take your sponge and just to do a little bit of black paint and I used the paint that was already on the base, so I did this before it dried so I could use the wet paint and make a sort of ombre, faded effect.
I guess you could say and once it's dry it will look like this along with the many other cool things Dollar Tree now offers. They also have different colors of cotton thread and also in larger rolls. I used some black cotton thread and used the vase with dents, wrapped that twine a few times and then tied it in place. I make sure to leave nice long strands so I can tie our beads and our tassels to the base as well for the beads I will be on. using two beads from this Easter garland from Dollar Tree and I simply cut the thread, removed two beads and painted them black with my black chalk paint for the tassels.
I'll use another one of the new threads from Dollar Tree and that's this black and white twine. I love it. I think it's really pretty and I was so excited when I found it to make the tassels separate the fingers and then wrap the twine around the fingers at least 10 to 15 times the size of the. The tassel depends on how far apart your fingers are or if you are wrapping the yarn around something else, it just depends on how big it is too and you can make your tassel as big or as small as you want and also the more you wrap the yarn around your fingers, the fuller your tassel will be, then you simply take another piece of that thread and place it between your fingers and tie it in a knot leaving a bow at the top.
I make sure my thread is the one I'm using. to tie the tassel is long enough that you can wrap it a few times after tying it and then tie it again keeping it in place, then just cut off any of the leftover pieces and at the end of the tassel where the long loops are too. you're going to cut so you can form your tassel, then just cut all the pieces so they're nice and even and you'll have a really cute little tassel and you'll need two of those tassels for this project and now all you have to do is add your beads and your tassel to the pieces of thread that hang from your base.
I simply strung the bead and then added my tassel. Now for the reason I wanted my threads to be so long. it's because I want my tassels and beads to be different lengths, so I'm going to have one longer than the other, so you're going to tie it and make sure that when you tie it it's the length that you want it to hang. then simply repeat the same steps for the other piece of twine at the base adding the bead and tassel and here's a look at how this absolutely beautiful textured vase turned out. This face is probably one of my favorite vases I've made in I've been loving the size of this vase for a long time and that texture is absolutely beautiful and not only does it look great on its own but you could add lots of different flowers and it would be beautiful too for this DIY.
I started with two. Of these wooden rounds from Dollar Tree I end up needing three of them, so go ahead and grab three all together, but I didn't realize that until the end, so I'm going to remove these cool hangers I was telling you about. I used to feel like more and more Dollar Tree items are getting these types of hangers instead of just the knotted hangers, which is fine with me because you can reuse them too, so I grab some wood glue and hot glue anyway and I'm going to add a bunch of it on the wooden round so I can glue the two wooden rounds together to make them thicker.
Once I have them stuck together nice and secure, I'm going to fill in the holes using some of the Dollar Tree putty and then I go ahead and sand it down so it's nice and smooth. I'm going to use these half wood beads that I bought on Amazon, they come in several different sizes, I think they're six different sizes. and they are a really good deal so I'll leave a link in the description box for these too so all I'm going to do is start taking these half wood beads and you can use wood bees from Dollar Tree and just cut them out .
Half of you were cut in half very easily. I promise you I was surprised. I was literally shocked when I discovered how easy those Dollar Tree beads actually cut in half, so I go ahead and hot glue half of the wood anyway. beads surrounding the entire circle once you have half of the wooden beads surrounding the entire wooden circle. I'm going to use the faux tint technique to give this a really dark tint. I used black chalk paint with a little water and just mixed everything together and then applied it with a brush like you would a normal stain and then wiped it off once you have the round wood completely stained.
Look how absolutely beautiful it turns out. I love this faux dye technique. Dollar Tree now has these really cute ones. Farm Stencils and I used the one with the chicken in my previous video and I will also be using it a little later on so I decided to use this Farm Fresh stencil for this DIY. I just placed a template where I thought. the center was, I suggest measuring because if you go too far it will look a little crooked when you turn the turntable, so I just took some painter's tape and put it over the stencil so it doesn't move or go anywhere and then I use my brush, my little foam stencil brush.
I love these and I just go ahead and use my Rust-Oleum white chalk paint to fill that entire stencil and once it's completely filled you can peel off the stencil and you absolutely have this. Beautiful sharp image like these templates work great, these Farmhouse templates and in fact any of the new templates I've used at Dollar Tree have come out so perfect, but let me know what you think of the Dollar Tree templates, especially the new. those in the comments. I would also love to hear your guys' opinions. I want this to have a little more of a farmhouse weathered look, so I take my chippy brush and some Rust-Oleum white chalk paint and dry it.
I brush along those wooden half beads and then the paint that's left on my brush. I also do a little bit of striping on the inside of the wood round just to give it a little more detail and make it show up a little bit more. more distressed, as I mentioned earlier, we're making a turntable and this is like a rotating tray, so I'm going to use this pen holder from Dollar Tree. This is what's going to make our tray spin because it's got this little spinning black Something on the bottom that's super easy to remove and it spins very, very easily so all I do is take a little screwdriver and I just pop that black piece off. and then you won't need that white piece anymore.
What I'm going to need is this black piece here, it has little pieces on the inside and you're also going to need this screw and this is where I realized that it's definitely going to be like drilling so I went ahead and added a third round of wood so that the screw wouldn't stick out when we screwed it in and I just went ahead and marked where the center was. I measured and added a little bit of marking and just made the mark bigger here so you can just put your little black piece back in like I did.
I said I can't talk today you guys put that black piece in there and then just screw that screw in and that's it this thing spins and spins great and here's a look at how this DIY turned out weird for this DIY you'll need two of the new Dollar Tree labels are in the beach section. I love the fact that they have this cork board on top, but one of them we're going to have facing forward and then the other one we're going to use facing back. side because it's all wood on that side and we're going to create a fake blacker stain again just by mixing a little bit of that paint into a little bit of water, the more paint you add the darker the stain will be sodefinitely keep that in mind.
I just take my brush and start putting on the faux stain like you would paint. You can wipe off the excess if you want it to be lighter, but I liked the color that came out when painted directly on the label. And look how amazing that fake staining technique works. I mean, who would have thought? I think this is absolutely beautiful and I love the fact that there are no harsh chemicals. Once the label is dry, I'm going to grab another one of those paints. transfers transfers and I'm going to use this tall windmill here and I had another windmill like top where I cut it off, but I used it in another DIY so I'm going to use this tall windmill here.
I place my transfer. to the right side of the label and then I make sure there are no air bubbles and then I add my white chalk paste by simply applying it with a spatula over the transfer once I have filled it all in remove the transfer and reveal how beautiful image, wash your transfer, place it back on its backing and use it again next time for the second label. I'm just going to take the same faux black stain and I'm going to go around where the wood part is on the label and just the wood part, so basically I'm creating that border and I double check it, then I take another piece of painter's tape and I'm going to stick it right where the top of that Coral is so I can paint right under the painter's tape with my foreign Rust-Oleum white chalk paint.
I ended up giving it two coats so you couldn't see the coral peeking out and you wanted to get as close to the edge of the cork board as possible. You can possibly then once it's dry go ahead and remove the frog tape to create a white strip where I'm going to place the letters. I used the frog tape and placed it near the top of the label and then took another piece and placed it about an inch to an inch and a half below the first piece, then just filled that strip with white chalk paint and a Once you've filled it in, you can remove the tape and you'll have a perfect little strip to place on. your letters for the stickers.
I'll be using these stickers that I got from Amazon, they have a sort of raid style font and I've used a lot of sticker letters and these are absolutely amazing and you get a ton of sheets. I will definitely have the link in the description box because these are definitely a must have. I love these stick-on letters, so all I'm going to do is place the words Farm Suite Farm. I found this cute little pig at I think it was Dollar General, but it could have been Family Dollar, but I'm pretty sure it was Dollar General.
They are the yellow tag so I'm going to cut the metal hanger off and they had other farm animals too but I just liked them. the cute little pig and I didn't think the label was going to be as bad as Dollar Tree but of course it was so I just got rid of it with my heat gun and then I went in with my black chalk paint and painted the whole Pig I wouldn't necessarily have had to remove the label, but I wanted my pig to face a certain direction, so I removed the label, then just went in with some sandpaper and went around the edges to reveal a little. a little bit of the white that was under the alien and then I took my glue gun and added a little bit of glue to the back of the pig and glued it right in the center of where I painted the white on the tag where the hanger was on the pig . there are holes and I didn't like how you could see the white through there so I just took my black chalk paint and a small paintbrush and filled in both holes and then placed my labels how I liked them to be placed before gluing them on.
I take them down, then just pick it up, add a little glue, and put it back where it was. I use a black paint pen and just trace the top of that white part making a nice little thin line for you to create. a very thin little black border for the bow. I made a little three finger bow with The Gingham ribbon from Dollar Tree and I didn't put that footage here because I'm still trying to perfect it, so it took me a few tries to get it right. Three loop loops, but I hot glued it right where the pig's butt is using a few more beads from the Easter garland.
I painted two of them black and three white, but I only ended up using two of those white ones for the hanger. I'm going to use some black cotton twine from Dollar Tree just like we used before. I cut two pieces the same length and then I'll fold one of the pieces in half and then I'll take that loop and place it. I put it through the hole in the tag and then I'm going to take the other two ends, put it through that Loop and Pull and then do the exact same thing on the other side and then I tie the four strands together into one. piece at the top, but when you tie it, you should tie it where you have some of the threads left hanging from the top so you can add your beads.
The holes in the beads are a little small, so I'm just going to cut a few of these strands leaving two of the longer strands, then all I did was string the beads and also alternate the colors once you have the beads. four beads, go ahead and tie a Make a simple knot at the top big enough so your beads don't come off and you have a cute little hanger. Here's a look at how this absolutely beautiful DIY turned out. I love the fact that you don't need to have a Cricut. or chocolate or prices to make beautiful high-end

home

decor

ations like all of these and much more.
I'm obsessed with that stained wood with the cork board and that white with black. I love this label. I think they are absolutely beautiful and one of my favorites for this DIY for sure. I'm going to use these two chalkboard labels from Dollar Tree. They are tied together with this small jute twine. They also have labels with a white dry erase board on the front, but I like the whiteboard label. for mine, so I'm just going to cut the jute twine hanger and then I'm going to take some painter's tape and I'm just going to place it here towards the side, right where I can make a little pinstripe. taking two pieces of that painter's tape and putting them next to each other, once I have the painter's tape down and I like the thickness of the little stripe, I'm going to fill it in with my Rust-Oleum white chalk paint and then, Once it's completely filled, you can reveal your little stripe by removing the painter's tape.
I get a lot of questions in the comments about whether or not to wait for the paint to dry before removing the painter's tape, and I personally like to peel off the painter's tape. Remove the tape while my paint is still wet because I've had a lot of experience removing it while it's dry and sometimes some of the paint will come off, so if you remove it before it dries, you'll have less of that, um, peeling off. I guess you could say that if you've ever used painter's tape you probably know exactly what I'm talking about, so anyway I went ahead and made a larger stripe with the painter's tape next to the smaller one and filled it back in with my right white ribbon.
I can't talk today guys, it's crazy Rust-Oleum white chalk paint and look how beautiful it is once you remove it and then I make a simpler little stripe here at the bottom, you could make as many as you want. You can make them as thick or as thin as you like. I think this gives it a beautiful, small, high-end look. Now you're done with that tag and I love how simple and easy it is to make, so let's go. Go to the second label. I had an idea for the other side, so I painted this side, but I ended up not doing the other side, so I went ahead and used this side to paint with my right Rust-Oleum chalk paint. and I have been using the white linen color once I have the label completely painted white and then it is completely dry.
I'm going to use this farmhouse fabric from Dollar Tree. I love this fabric. They also have other farmhouse fabrics and they are all beautiful, but this one I am absolutely obsessed with. I want to use this rooster image, so I found one that is closer to the edge and I use my scissors and I cut it out and as you can see in the image, there is that square. well around when you cut it, you want to leave a little bit of excess fabric and then you just cut it so that again there's just a little bit of excess fabric around that square and then you're going to take your fingers and start pulling on those strings, it's so you want to have that little bit of excess fabric so you have this really cool ripped effect.
Once you get a bunch of those strings out, it's very easy to do once I have the strings ripped. To my liking, I just take a little bit of mod podge and put it on the back of the fabric and make sure to cover the entire piece of fabric and really try to get those little end pieces that are also torn off. then I just take my piece of fabric with the Mod Podge and place it right on the tag in the center and use my fingers to smooth it out completely. When I smooth my fabric, I like to use my finger and just go from the center outward and almost like you're stretching it and pushing it down at the same time.
Next I'm going to use this Gangnam ribbon from Dollar Tree and just add a little bit of hot glue here on top. corner of the label place the plaid tape over the hot glue wrap the ribbon around to the front add a little bit of hot glue going all the way around the front of the tag then wrap it to the back add a little bit of hot glue to the back and secure instead and then I'm going to repeat the same steps here on the bottom of the label, add a little bit of hot glue to the back of the label, wrap the ribbon around the front of the label to the back of the label and then add some hot glue. secured in place and cut off the excess now I can go ahead and stick my two labels together and I simply add a little hot glue to the back of the white label and when I place it over the black label I do it crooked but making sure that two holes in the tags line up so we can add our hanger and for the hanger I'm going to use this thread hanger that I actually got from a different Dollar Tree sign and it has this little piece of plastic on there that when you twist it, it keeps the rope or string comes out, so again you just push it into the hole, twist that little piece of plastic and you can see it won't come back out, so I do the same thing with the other one. end of the thread and twist that piece of plastic so that neither end can come out and I'm going to add a little bit of hot glue here on top and I'm going to glue that thread down so that it has a nice little hanger once I have it made.
Once the hanger was done, I knew I needed something else here at the top and I only had this little piece of that Gangnam ribbon from Dollar Tree left, so I'm going to create a bow by simply making the cancer awareness shape with my tape. and then pinch it in the centers and then you can use another strand of ribbon, whatever you want. I'm going to use this one, I think it's like a cotton thread and it's from Dollar Tree, it's also black and white. I thought I would go with it and just tie it in a knot to secure the bow in place.
Once the bow is nice and secure, I can cut those pieces of yarn and then I'm just going to pull on my loops and on my tails to make sure they're the length and size I want. If you want to join the ends of the ribbon together, I just go ahead and fold them in half and then cut them at an angle and once both. your tails are attached you have this cute bow and I just add a little bit of hot glue here next to the hanger and add my bow and this DIY is ready now let's take a look at how it turned out for this DIY you will need one of the New Garlands from beach-themed beads from Dollar Tree.
They have several different ones, but they are all square beads, so all you are going to do is cut the string and then remove those little wood cutouts and save the beads that these bead garlands have. beads on them so you can't necessarily make two equal stacks so I made 12 in a bag and 13 and I'm doing this because I want my beads to be two different colors, if you want all your beads to be the same color you can just put them all in a bag, my first bead bag. I want it to be white, so I'm just taking some white Rust-Oleum chalk paint, putting some in the bag, shaking it to make sure those beads are completely covered, and then pouring them out making sure to separate them so they don't stick together to the second set of wooden beads.
I want to create another faux dye and this time I'm going to do it with black chalk paint so I'm just going to add a little bit to my water and then I'm going to take the water a little at a time and put it right into the bag with the wooden beads. Do exactly the same thing you did with the white paint and just shake them all up. until the beads are completely covered, then I pour the dye into a container so it doesn't spill all over my workspace and then I empty the beads onto a paper towel and again separate them so they don't stick together when they dry and look itAbsolutely beautiful these wooden beads are once they are completely dry.
I love that look for stringing the beads. I'm going to use this jute twine from the Dollar Tree and I think this is the jute twine from the car. section, but you'll want to take a piece of ribbon and place it on the end of the string because as you can see here, it was a little difficult to string the beads without having the ribbon there, so I just took a little piece of painter's tape and added it to the end and I cut it out so I could string the beads and then when I strung the beads on the twine I did this alternating the colors, once you have all the strong beads you can put the garland on. aside and then you can use that Dollar Tree, twist it up to make a tassel.
All I'm going to do is spread my fingers enough basically to have the length that I want my tassel to be and then I'm going to wrap the thread around my finger a few times, you can do it as many times as you want, the more you do it, the thicker the tassel will be, so now I'm just going to make a loop at the top. Take another piece of twine and just start wrapping it around and then I'll tie it in place at the top and then you'll also cut at the bottom where the big loops are and then you want to make all the little pieces in one layer and now you have a nice yarn tassel, but I actually wanted to add a little more to this, so I'm going to use this new lace and crochet ribbon.
I think it's very pretty, but I couldn't understand it. Find out how to remove it here as if they have to staple it after wrapping it. You'll see what I mean if you buy it, but you get a lot of this for just $25 and it's absolutely beautiful. What I'm going to do is take the lace ribbon and just wrap it over the top of that little bow and then cut it to the same size as the tassel pieces and of course I couldn't stop there because I've had this ribbon for a while . I always see it at Dollar Tree and I've wanted to use it for so long, so I'm going to cut a little piece the same size as that lace ribbon and then I'm going to join my ends together. of ribbon and lace ribbon by simply folding the ribbon in half and then cutting it at a diagonal angle inwards, then stacking one ribbon on top of the other and then placing them over the loop that is on top, basically the little Loop and then you will take another piece of thread and wrap it right where you wrapped it before basically pinching it in exactly the same place and then wrapping some Dew thread around the top creating a little Loop like before and then tie it in place, cut the leftover pieces and you will have this super cute little tassel.
Dollar Tree carries this pack of galvanized metal tags and they come three to a pack and they also come with their own little piece of twine, but we're only going to use one of the tags for this DIY using a Dollar Tree chippy paintbrush that also comes in a pack of three. I take that Rust-Oleum white chalk paint and just do a little messy paint job right on top of it. top of the little metal tag, once the paint is completely dry, I'm going to take that cute chicken transfer again and I love the fact that you can use these transfers over and over again, all you have to do is just wash them. and place them back on their backing, so I'm going to fill it in with some chalk paste.
Again you can use chalk paint if you want, once the chicken is completely stuffed like before all you have to do is peel off the transfer and you have this cute little chick, then you can wash the transfer and use it again next time. time. I see these transfers at Dollar Tree all the time and all I'm going to do is just cut these sheets in an arc shape down here. on the bottom and then I'll use my Cricut tool and just transfer one on the top and one on the bottom of the chicken. You don't need to have a Cricut tool to transfer them all you have to do is use a credit card I mean I've used my nail before they actually transfer very easily and you can find a lot of things around your house that you could use and look how adorable that label is.
I love how this turned out to assemble the garland. All you have to do is tie the tassel on one end of the garland and then tie the metal tag on the other end. When you tie both, make sure you don't tie them too tight so you can do this. You don't like to twist and move your bead garland if you want so you just want to make sure you have a little bit of room, as you see I have about an inch of space between the tassel and the beads so you just want to make sure you have just a little bit of wiggle room and again that's so you can wrap your beads around something if you want and they don't stay straight and can't move or curve once you have the tassel and tag. and you cut out any additional aspects of how adorable this DIY turned out, just like with the other DIYs.
I think this garland turned out absolutely adorable. I'm obsessed with that label and I'm so glad it matches all of our others. DIY we did in this video overseas and once again look how absolutely beautiful those dyed beads are. I love how this garland turned out for this DIY. I had seen this on Big Lots for 18 and just wanted to get some inspiration. from it and adapt it to my personal style, so for this DIY I'm going to use two of these wooden boards from Dollar Tree and I'm actually going to make them look like a bunch of wooden boards put together, so I'm going to Start by painting them both white with my Rust-Oleum White Chalk Paint.
Once the paint is completely dry, I'm going to grab this piece of wood that's actually from Dollar Tree, it was in my stash and it's been there for quite a while. for a while and I liked how wide it was, so I'm just going to take my pencil, which you can also use as a ruler or a stick to stir paint, whatever you have on hand and I just take my pencil and make the lines so that when Ya I'm done, it'll look like I have six boards total once I put those two boards together, once you've drawn those lines you can smudge them with your finger or whatever you want, but I wanted to try a little different. technique that occurred to me while I was sitting in my craft room trying to figure out how to make this look a little more like wooden boards put together, so I grabbed my box knife and I'm going to mark the line with my pencil and then just I take a butter knife and I follow where I marked to make it a little bit wider and then I'm going to repeat those steps using the box cutter to create that line and then using the butter knife to widen it and then I'm going to repeat those steps again on the other board also.
Once I finished my lines, I turned those two boards over so I could join them on the back and I'm just going to use some craft sticks, these are like the bigger ones from Dollar Tree and I'm just going to add a little bit of hot glue and place lots of these craft sticks on the back once you have those two boards nice and secured together, they look. Very pretty and I think that technique worked really well, but I'm going to use a little bit of black chalk paint and do a very light dry brushing just to give it a worn look and I'm going to go around all the edges. and then I also very lightly follow those lines that we made.
I always say in all my videos where I do angst. If distressing is not something you like, you can definitely skip this step. Next you will need two of these wooden boxes. from Dollar Tree and technically you only have to paint three of the sides and the inside because we're going to glue them to that backing with the boards, so go ahead and paint those three sides. You can paint the bottom if you want and paint the inside. I used my Rust-Oleum white chalk paint and then I used my chippy brush again and that black chalk paint to give some distress to the boxes as well and just like I did with the lines on the board, I'm also going to add a little bit of dry brushing to these folds here on the boxes to give it a little more worn look.
Once you have the distressed boxes to your liking, I add a little hot glue to the back of both. the boxes and then I'm going to place them on the bottom of the board so on the inspiration piece I had some galvanized metal there so I'm using this piece of galvanized metal from Dollar Tree and I'm just going to add a decent amount of hot glue guys, use a heat gun on low or let it dry for a second or even wear oven mitts on your hands just to protect them because that hot glue really heats up the metal that I just glued on.
I'm going to place it right in the center of those boards and then grab this super cute galvanized chicken from Dollar Tree. They also have a pig and a cow. I'm going to cut the hanger off and then add some Mod Podge. tons of mod podge, but I end up smearing it on and taking some off and then I'm going to use this beautiful fabric from Dollar Tree once again. I like my DIYs in my videos mostly to mix and match, so I'm going to cut this fabric into a piece big enough to cover the chicken and then I'm just going to place the fabric over the Mod Podge that's on the chicken and then just to make sure it lasts a long time.
I'm going to add another layer of mod podge over the top of the fabric and you really want to spread it and smooth it out as much as you can and once it dries you can go ahead and cut off a lot of that excess. and then I usually take like a nail file if there are really small groove gaps, like in the head and neck area of the chicken up, those little creases where I am would be great for a nail file or you could also fold a piece of sandpaper in half and really get into those grooves and cut while sanding away all that excess before adding my chicken.
I'm going to use four of these push pins that are from Dollar Tree. I've had them for quite some time. They are silver and I want them to be black, so I go ahead and paint all four black with my black chalk paint, as some of you may know, these galvanized metal pieces from Dollar Tree have four holes, one in each corner, so What's going To make it really easy for us to take our thumbtacks, push them right into the hole right in the wood and they'll be very secure and in place and they'll look really cute as a detail and now we can finally take our chicken, add some hot glue. on the back of the chicken and then place it directly on the galvanized metal and oh my goodness I already love how this is turning out too in the inspiration image from Big Lots, the front had a welcome saying on there and it was really cute, so I wanted to imitate that too, so I took one of these galvanized metal words, welcome, obviously I got them last fall, but they have them pretty much all year round and I went ahead and painted them like Well, black with my black chalk paint and I'm just going to stick it on the front of the boxes down here, now all you have to do is add florals, flowers or greenery, just add some Spanish moss, no, not floral Spanish moss.
Foam in the box, guys, it's a disaster, today it's a disaster. Add some floral foam to the box and then add any greenery you like. I just cut up some of this boxwood looking greenery from Dollar Tree, added it to the boxes and then just went in with some more black chalk paint to give it a little more distress and look at this guys I love it so much , again, not an exact hoax, but I hope you can see where I got it from. I was inspired by the original Big Lots image and that's why I'm here for you.
I love DIY, so you can recreate them exactly like this or get inspired by them too. Thank you. I am very excited about this DIY. Personally, I absolutely love this DIY, so to get started you'll need two of these easels from Dollar Tree. Personally, I haven't seen them at my Dollar Tree before. I think I had heard of them a while ago, but I hadn't heard of them. for quite a while now so I think they're back so you're going to need two of these so to start you're going to need to remove these two screws that are on both easels and they're holding that little piece of wood that's holding up your canvas or your frame and just you're going to remove that piece of wood and set it aside, don't throw it away, we'll need it for later, so now you have these three pieces here and that piece of wood and then go ahead and repeat the same steps on the second easel so that just have that three piece and then also the small piece of wood.
Don't throw away those two pieces of wood we took off the easel, you'll need them. Later I'm going to grab a 10 inch style rod from Dollar Tree and just use my miter shears and cut it in half so it's five inches. Then I add a little hot glue just on the two woods. pieces that had the screws and I add hot glue right where the screw holes are and then I'm going to glue that rod directly to those two pieces so that this separate back support always stays where it can move and then I also do the exact same thing with the other one easel and just like the previous one, you want to make sure you only glue it to those two pieces of wood so that the back piece can continue to move. Now hold the sawhorses up so that those pieces of wood that can be moved are facing each other and then you'll just want to push them up and then add a little bit of wood glue for a long strong hold and a little bit of glue hot for an immediate hold and then you'll be I'm going to glue those two pieces of wood that can move together up here at the top.
Once you've glued them together, you want to tighten these metal pieces down here. I know they have a name, but I can't think of the name right now, but If you tighten the ones that will make the legs of your swing very sturdy and not move, now I can start making the seat for our swing and I will use those two pieces of wood that I removed earlier. into a five gallon paint stir stick and I just put the stir stick between those two pieces of wood. I liked how wide it was with the stir stick between those pieces and I mark it and I'm just going to cut it with my miter shears once they're cut I sand them so they're nice and smooth and then I'm going to place one of those pieces of wood up and then one of the pieces that we removed earlier down so you can see that little lip on one of them, I just wanted one of those lips to be up on the other side so it looks almost like a little backrest or something as well as the stop for the swing to hold.
All together I used some craft sticks and too much wood glue. I wiped off all that excess and just lay them down to keep the three pieces together because I use that paint stirrer bar. I had to sand any of the image, if I was going to paint over it it wouldn't really matter, but I'm going to re-stain the faux stain technique a bit. I know you guys are probably sick of that posting technique, but I love it. I'm a mom so I have kids here and I don't really like using a lot of nasty smells and chemicals and stuff like that, I try to do crafts when they're not home, but either way, you know, just to be safe, I love using just the paint and water mixture for the faux tint, as you can see.
I stained the entire swing frame and then I'm going to stain the wood piece for our seat as well. Once everything is stained, it should look like this. and I can already see that this is coming together. I'm really excited about this DIY, so at Dollar Tree they have these picture hanging kits and they have these little hooks inside and they're kind of closed in, they just have a little bit of room. that's open and you can't really get much through there, so I'm just using my scissors to make the opening in the hook a little bit bigger.
I'm going to use two of those hooks and I'm just going to Screw one on each side about an inch from the edge under the top of the swing, basically where the chain is on a swing. Normally that's when I screw in my hooks, I made sure to that the opening faced outward on both sides. Next, I'm going to take some of the nautical robe from Dollar Tree and I'm going to take two pieces that I cut at 34 inches and I'm going to fold them in half and then I'm going to take the halfway mark and I'm going to place it on our hook that we screwed to the swing and, once the thread is on, we'll take that piece of wood. and I'm just going to take the thread and place it or under the piece of wood creating a loop that takes the two ends here at the top and then I'm going to tie it pretty much to the length that I want. swing, swing, jeez, guys, it's definitely easier to see than it is to explain, so I just cut off the excess of that knot and then I slid the knot all the way under the piece of wood and then I'm just going to hot glue the nautical rope in place, so you're basically making a loop of the size or length you want your swing to hang on and then you're going to glue the bottom of the piece of wood to your loop and then you're just going to do the same thing on the other side.
Add the nautical rope to your hook. I lowered it under the small piece of wood to the same length as the previous nautical rope and then tied it with a somewhat loose knot. so I know I have it at the length I want and then I'm going to hot glue it into place and then I'm going to add another knot so it's nice and secure, then I'm just going to cut off the excess nautical rope with some scissors. and you have this super adorable little swing for the little

decor

ative piece on the swing. I'm going to use this little metal mug that I think I bought at Dollar Tree a few years ago.
I've seen them like in criteria at Dollar Tree and I think they also had one with a little spike on it so that was really cute too so I go ahead and remove all the excess and then sand it so the paint will adhere a little better and don't come off. or chip it off and now I'm going to reapply the Rust-Oleum white chalk paint and give it two coats of that chalk paint covering it completely once I've painted it completely white and it's dry. I'm just going to use some black chalk paint and a paintbrush and add some distressing like the rims and the handle and really anywhere that I thought would look good and could use a little improvement. extra touch Dollar Tree has so many different transfers and they have these new farmhouse transfers.
I love them, there are so many different styles, these are one of them and I'm going to cut out the farm fresh flowers, the seeds, the stems, the flowers, the rectangle. the outside like the rim was a little too big so I just cut out the text and then I'm going to place it in the center of the small mug and once I have it where I would like it, I'm going to push it down onto the mug, then I take my Cricut tool and I start rubbing it from the inside out and what I mean by this is I start in the center of the transfer and go out one side and then I go to the center of the transfer again and go out the other side until the Have it completely rubbed in and then you can remove the plastic piece and reveal your new rub-on transfer.
Now this was too crisp and clean for For me, you could leave it as is if you want, but I just wanted to distress it a little bit more, so I use the black chalk paint and a chippy brush and just go all over the mug and distress it. Go down a bit and that's it, add some flowers, green succulents, whatever you want, put it on your swing and see how stinky and cute this DIY turned out. This DIY is definitely by far my favorite in this video. You could add a Here's a potted plant, a gnome, whatever you want.
I really love this swing while I was at Dollar Tree the other day, not only did I find that really cool bead garland, but I also found these wall bases, these galvanized wall vases, so as soon as I found it, I knew I had I had to DIY it right away, I don't know why, but these Farmhouses totally screamed to me that you could have any style you wanted, but I wanted them to be farmhouse style. them, so I went ahead and cut the twine like a hanger and then I'm going to use this metallic gray folk art to dull it and make it look a little bit older and I guess worn out, so I'm I'm going to use a sponge and just go Sponge this lightly back and forth basically all over the wall vase.
I don't know why they call it a wall vase, but I don't know if I have. I've heard they call it a wall pocket, which I think is a little better, but yeah, they're still going to sponge that metallic gray folk art all over the non-galvanized metal, guys, I swear It's been a day, so anyway. As you can see, that really dulls this and I'm sorry I put so much material here, I didn't mean to, but there we go, we're done, so now I'm going to use this hello hobby, I think. It's Noor Brown and I'm just going to use another piece of sponge and add this around all the edges because this color is the perfect rust color.
I love using this color for rust, you don't have to mess with dust. substance like cinnamon and you know stuff like that so you just apply it with a sponge and I went over the top edge here and you guys really make this look a lot better. I love the way this turned out, now I'm going to use the Farmhouse stencil with the chicken from Dollar Tree and I just placed the chicken right centered on this galvanized piece here at the bottom of the wall vase and I definitely should have taped it down . I highly recommend taping it down. to keep sliding, but I got it to work in the end, so I just taped it down to save time.
I highly recommend it and like I did with all the other stencils, I will be using my stencil brush to fill the chicken. with my black chalk paint and all I'm doing here is just the chicken so you don't have to worry about the rest of the stencil and once you've done that look how adorable at this point I felt like it needed a little of rust on this inside edge here, so that's all I'm doing here is just adding a little bit of that brown ni to the inside edge, so it has a little bit of rust on it as well.
I'm also going to use these rubs. transfers from Dollar Tree and I like the sheets here at the bottom that are a little long and they also have a little bit shorter set, so I go ahead and cut those sheets so I can transfer them. I like to Lay out my pieces before transferring them to see where I like them, so once I have them in the position I like I just go ahead and transfer them down using my Cricut tool and again starting from the center and working my way through. I come out and then I slowly take the plastic piece off the transfer and then I just repeat the same step on the other side with the other rub on the transfer and then I also added the two smaller little leaves right on top, like above the first rub on the transfer. transfers and look how absolutely adorable it looks.
I love how this originally turned out too. This was meant to hang on the wall, but I actually want it to be a free standing decor piece, so I'm going to use it. some of these beads from Dollar Tree and I use them as a medium size and I'm going to paint four of those black with my black chalk paint. These wooden beads will be the feet that make our decor piece stand up, so I'm just going to stand it up making sure it's level and then I'll add some hot glue to one of the wooden beads, now making sure Hold the galvanized metal piece in place.
Slide the wooden bead towards the front, that is, you will have one in the front and one in the back and when you slide it into position, once it touches the side and can't go any further, that is where you want to stick the wooden bead and then you will repeat the same step with the other three beads creating the four feet to make the decorative piece vertical to cover the holes where the hanger was. I made a bow like I did before and then I also made a bow with dewy thread. and I glued it right above the Gangnam bow and then I'm going to glue those bows right above where the hanger holes were and that's it guys this DIY is done you could use it for so many different things. add flowers, greenery, you could put your mail here, your keys, it would be super cute.
I love how this DIY turned out and I hope you do too. For this DIY, you will need one of the Dollar Tree Glass blanks and some type of painter's tape, either Frog Tape or whatever type of tape you want for this face. I'm going to paint the bottom, so I'll take the frog ribbon and wrap it around the vase where I'd like it. For starters, you can have yours closer to the top, closer to the bottom, wherever you want. Then you're just going to take the rest of the masking tape and start covering that part of the vase and I'll cover the top of the vase. simply because I don't want the paint to fall in once you've glued on the part of the vase that you would like to be clear.
I just used some Rust-Oleum chalk spray paint, you can definitely hand paint this like well, I spray painted the vase and when it's dry you can just peel off all the tape and you'll have this nice clean, crisp line, like Some of you may know, Dollar Tree now carries metallic tape and I am absolutely obsessed with using this. It actually cuts very, very easily, as you can see here. I thought it was going to be a lot harder to cut, but it actually cuts nice and easy. All I did was cut the size I needed to fit around the vase and then I just wrapped it.
I circled it and hot glued it in place. The reason I hold mine upside down while I do this is because I want the metal tape to line up with that white paint and it's that simple and this DIY is done. I've used this DIY in so many different ways, whether it's just placing it this pretty and letting the natural beauty show or adding a candle to use it as a candle holder, then I've also placed flowers and greenery to use it. Also as a vase for this DIY you will need 5 of the 12 inch wood pieces from Dollar Tree.
You can also go to a hardware store like Lowe's or Home Depot and get the wood even cheaper, but if you want to keep it all. Dollar Tree or if you don't have a hardware store nearby like me, of course not so I just keep itall Dollar Tree. I know it's a few extra

dollar

s, but it's okay, you can definitely go to a hardware store and get it. Cheaper if you want so I sanded the five pieces of wood and then used some wood glue also from Dollar Tree and I use my hot glue gun which has Gorilla Glue hot glue sticks and that gives it a really nice look . good grip too, but with the wood glue I'm sure you can use pretty much any type of hot glue because it's going to have a really nice hold, so all you have to do is glue the five pieces of wood together once the glue is ready. everything dry, you can paint or stain your tray any color you want.
I decided to go with a gray color and I'm actually doing the faux tint technique which is just mixing any paint color you want and this is I think the elephant. from Waverly and you mixed whatever paint color you wanted with a few drops of water, you actually diluted it, the more water you put in, the lighter the tint will be and then you go ahead and tint it like you would a regular tint. project, place it directly on your project with a brush or you can also use a paper towel to place it and then use a clean paper towel to wipe off the excess.
It will do this all over the tray making sure you get the sides as well and look how beautiful this faux dye technique turns out and you don't have any nasty smells, harsh chemicals or really any drying time, it dries in just a few minutes using a Dollar chippy brush Tree. This is just one of the ones that come in a pack of three, I add a little bit of white chalk paint all over the tray, I do it lightly first and then I do a little more intense dry brushing just on a few small spots, like I don't do the whole tray, as you can see, I just add a few extra touches here and there for the tray handles.
I'm going to use the Dollar Tree leather, everyone has been going crazy over this stuff and I can totally see why for a while.

dollar

25 this is absolutely amazing. I cut two strips 12 inches long and half an inch wide, then I add a little hot glue to one end and create a loop with the leather strip, once I have the loop made I take my hot glue gun. again and add a line of hot glue right in the center of that strip so you can squish it down and it will create a leather strip where the leather is basically showing on both sides.
This synthetic leather only has the leather print. one side, so you're basically just making a strip where the leather is showing on both sides. Again create just one loop and then add some hot glue in the center and then flatten it and then you will have two strips like this. where the leather is shown on both sides to attach a leather to the tray. I'm going to use these push pins from Dollar Tree but I wanted them to be silver and couldn't find any silver so I just painted some of these gold with my folk art sterling silver metallic paint.
I placed the leather on the wooden tray making it have a loop in the center, then I simply take the thumbtacks and press them down on both sides of the leather making sure it goes down to the wooden look, then you will repeat the same process on the other side from the wooden tray and this is how this beautiful wood is created. I love how this DIY turned out. Those leather strap handles give me such a sophisticated look. In fact, I have had this wooden tray for quite some time and display it in my own home and have decorated it.
There are many different ways, so I placed some photos here so you can see how I made those decorations. There are so many different ways you could use to decorate this wooden tray for this DIY. You will need a long Dollar Tree sign, it doesn't have to be this exact sign, you just need any long sign. I want this sign to have a shiplap wood look so I just use my white chalk paint and paint the entire sign white and then take a pencil and a ruler and just make lines across the sign. You can make as many lines as you want to give it that wood look.
I take my finger and smudge those pencil lines and do something like that. stains some spots more than others. I have wanted to use this Dollar Tree wall decal for quite some time and I still see them at Dollar Tree to this day and all I do is take the decals and place them directly on the sign making sure it is centered, you can also add a coat of mod podge or spray sealer on top if you want to create a border on this side as well. I'm using these bamboo skewer sticks from Dollar Tree and I'm just going to cut them with my miter shears and you can definitely use scissors to cut them too, they cut very, very easily, but be careful when cutting them because if you don't hold them the way correct, the other end will definitely fly across the room using the Dollar Tree Craft Chalkboard Paint.
I go ahead and paint all those pieces that I cut to create the border and to create that border all I did was hold those skewers. stick it to the sign and mark it and then cut it in those places once you have painted all the border pieces go ahead and add hot wood glue or whatever type of glue you want and then start putting them up. pieces to create your border at Dollar Tree, they sell these over the door hangers with hooks and all I do is take the part that goes over the door that is bent and I bend it as straight as I ever could.
Those are straight, you can add them to your sign by simply gluing it upside down and then adding a little hot glue on the parts you just straightened. Make sure you add a decent amount. I am using Gorilla Glue hot glue sticks. I would do it. I also recommend the E6000 for something like this but I didn't have any E6000 on hand so I used the Gorilla Glue hot glue sticks and I will have them linked below in the description box but just for one more security hold I added some I glued the metal part and added some giant popsicle sticks, making sure they stayed in place too.
Then all I did was add a string hanger by simply putting some hot glue on the back of the sign and adding smaller pieces. of popsicle stick making sure the thread stays in place and that's how this beautiful DIY turned out. This was another one that went viral on my Tick Tock page and I can totally understand why I'm obsessed with this DIY. I think this would be so adorable in the kitchen to hang spatulas in the bathroom to hang towels, hats, gloves or you can hang home decor. Also for this DIY you will need one of Dollar Tree's bamboo wreath shapes and four of their Greenery boxwood picks which, by the way, This new Floral Garden brand from Dollar Tree is absolutely amazing.
You should see some of the other green areas they have now. All I did was use the Dollar Tree garden shears and cut each of those Dollar Tree Greenery selections when you cut them. They don't need to have a very long stem, but you should have a long enough stem that you can tuck them into the wreath in case you can see it through some of the green wreath pieces. I went ahead and added some of this darker green paint and honestly I'm not even sure where this paint came from, it was just in my paint bucket and I decided it was the closest to greenery yet so I I used.
You'll probably use any type of dark green paint you want and once the paint is dry, all you have to do is start pushing the green stems into the wreath shape. These bamboo wreath shapes are a little wrapped, but loose. enough so that you can put those stems in there and they are so tight that they don't need glue at all. Once you do this, you will almost never want to make any other type of wreath because it is so easy. I love to do. wreaths like these, especially using the bamboo reformers because like I said, all you're doing is just pushing those stems right into the wreath form, just keep pushing those pieces of greenery into those crevices in the wreath form until May your crown be completely full and I don't.
I don't know about you, but at the beginning I'm already in love. I was going to make this wreath without any bows so I chose this ribbon at first and to place the ribbon on the wreath all I do is move the greenery out of the way. then place the ribbon in the center of the wreath, then bring it back and form a loop at the top, but like I said, I end up swapping this ribbon for one of the ribbons I also used for the bow. For the bow I'm going to use this pack of Neutral Farmhouse ribbons that I now have in my Amazon store so I'll have it linked below and I cut my ribbon to 23 inches and then to join the ends all I do is fold.
Cut it in half and then cut it at a diagonal angle inward. Once you've assembled the ends, you'll place the ribbon down so it's face down and then pull the ends toward the center to create that cancer awareness ribbon shape. so all you have to do is take that top loop and place it where the two ribbons meet right there in the center and then tighten it in the center as well. You could use a Chanel stem or floral wire to hold the bow together, but I just use some Dollar Tree Dew yarn. I love how the center of the yarn looks and I just place it in the center of the bow and wrap it around a few times creating a nice little center on the bow and this also keeps your bow together so once you've wrapped it around a few Sometimes, just cut off the excess and hot glue it in place, then all you have to do is fluff the loops and pull down the ends however you like and you have a super cute bow.
I love this wreath with or without a bow, so I wanted to be able to remove the bow very easily, so I just used a small clothespin. I think Dollar Tree also carries little clothespins and you. You could also use large clothes pins for larger bows and all I do is just hot glue right on the back of the bow first. This is how this absolutely stunning Greenery boxwood wreath turned out without the bow and that's where you can also see how I changed the top of the ribbon to match the bow if I wanted to place the bow there again as well.
I think this wreath looks very sophisticated and I have seen them online for almost 97 years. that on my Tick Tock and people were impressed and then you could also add that really cute little bow and this is adorable too, let me know in the comments if you like it with or without the bow. I have seen so many different amazing things. ways to make this lantern so I just had to put my own spin on it and try it out so I'm going to use one of these shadow box type decorative pieces from Dollar Tree and just break off the inside of the hanger. in the shadow box too, if your shadow box has something in the front that could throw it off balance go ahead and take that out too and of course you will need the old Dollar Tree Hot Wheel tracks, take one of the race tracks and add one of the ends into one corner of the shadow box and you also want to add some hot glue to that corner, then you will take the other end of your race track and fold it over to the other side of the corner of your shadow box directly in front of the corner you just glued creating this loop.
You'll also want to glue that corner down and then you'll do the same thing with the second race track by placing it on one of the corners adding a little hot glue, but this time when you fold it you want to fold it over the top of the race track. previous one that you put in your shadow box, then you're going to hot glue that dot as well, but Of course, once I had both pieces of the track glued together that's when I realized I wanted the opposite side of the track to be Looking forward. See how there's more edge on this side now than the other?
On the other side of the racetrack, I hope you understand what I'm saying, but you'll understand a little bit once you see when I put the half wood beads in, so all I'm doing here is just changing them. because I didn't want you guys to say, wait a minute, that looks different and I'm not telling you why, so once I had the track pieces turned, I just added a little bit of hot glue to the top where the track pieces are. two race tracks, making sure they were nice and centered foreign accounts that I also bought on Amazon.
I'll also have them linked below. I think I used the 12mm or 15mm ones, but you can use whatever size you want and all I did was start adding heat. Glue all those half wooden beads together and then start placing them on the race track. You can place the half wood beads as close together or as far apart as you like and again I am using Gorilla Glue hot glue sticks so definitely check. In the description box, these are my favorite glue sticks. I have never had any problems with any type of surface when it comes to this glue stick, as wellwhich you can use E6000 or any type you want, but that's definitely what I recommend placing the half wood beads until there's a little bit of room at the top and then I'll use the top of this little jar that I bought from Dollar Tree.
You can also use the top of I'm also using a glass jar, what I'm doing is creating a final look for the top of this and I'm just going to add a little bit of hot glue to the top of the race tracks, making sure to put the hot glue on all the points where the lid will meet the race tracks and then I put that lid right on top and if there's anywhere you can get to it from the outside, go ahead and add some hot glue again , making sure the lid is nice and secure Dollar Tree carries packages of ping pong balls and I'm just going to take one of the balls.
Place some hot glue directly on the ping pong ball then place it in the center on top of the lantern and then I just use a smaller wooden bead that I had in my stash and just add some hot glue again directly over the bead and place it in the center of the top of the ping pong ball. You can also use Dollar Tree bees because we're going to paint this so it doesn't really matter what color the bead is for the top of our finial. I'm going to use one of these smaller, oddly shaped wooden beads from Dollar Tree and again add a bit of hot glue to the bottom of the wooden bead. and then placed it on top of the second wooden bead once I had everything in place.
I just used that Rust-Oleum white chalk spray paint again and sprayed all over the Lantern Dollar Tree actually carries several different styles of that metal tape and for this Lantern. I am using this style. I cut a piece of metal tape long enough to go around the cap we placed on top of the lantern, but it's a little too wide, so I'm going to go ahead and cut. Outside of this part here where it has those little dots that go towards the center so it's not as wide, all you want left is the top part that has those leaf-like prints on there for this project.
I thought the metal was too shiny, so I'm going with my hi hobby antique wax. You could use any type of antique wax you want. I'm sure you could even use brown paint or you could even paint them too. All I did was de-gloss them and add a little bit of that old wax to both pieces and I didn't paint them all the way. I just did a good dry brushing with my hot glue gun. I started hot gluing the metal tape. around the bottom base of the shadow box, creating a really nice border that goes around the entire shadow box.
If you've used this metal tape before, you definitely know that you really need a strong glue for this, so E6000 or a strong hot glue. It is definitely highly recommended that once you have completely glued the metal tape around the bottom shadow box, you are going to do pretty much the same thing with the lid that we put on the top of the lantern. At this point, you can simply put down your flashlight. as is, but of course I always have to go a step further and take that little brush from Dollar Tree again and add a little antique wax to the beads and almost the entire lantern to give us that really nice worn look .
Beautiful result from Lantern. I love this Lantern. I've seen it done so many different ways and they always turn out absolutely beautiful and I definitely want to give a shout out to whoever came up with this race track idea. absolutely amazing, thank you all so much for watching. I really hope you all enjoyed these DIYs as much as I enjoyed sharing them with you. Hope to see you all and some new friends next time, bye.
